logicboy01: Even if what you say is true; sexism in the form of censorship is not the answer to unruly women.

Where is your proof for this accusation of the Corinthian women?
Nail ur point in a clause!

logicboy01: Please, dont bear false witness against the Corinthian women.

Even if what you say is true, telling women to be silent in church is still foolish and not the solution. Epic fail#
Can u give me a brief history of Corinth?
Remember,to suucessfully penetrate a place, respecting the land's godly ethics will be a must!

virgo: Crap! Crap! Now stuff that fundamentalist crap where the sun don't shine. Jeez! What is wrong with you Africans? So because one chauvinist got his scripts included in the Bible, women should become invisible. Even the white man who brought his religion to you enjoys his hordes of female preachers. So what did the Bible say again? undecided
So, making a suggestion can turn one to Chauvinist.
Na wa o!
Seriously?

Mankind8: The Mesage was meant for the Corintian women who believed to be more Than there Husband. The were proud, heartened and thought the were equal or supirior. That was why ApOSTle Paul was giving them His personal openion to corintian Women and duty. GO AND READ BIBLE HISTORY BASIS. Thanks to other pastor around here
Thank u my brother.
God bless u sooo much!

logicboy01: huh? Was a catholic for a long time before becoming an atheist. Go figure.

You are the one confused by your pastors who select only the good parts of the bible for you to swallow grin. You cant even explain the simple verse I put forward and so, you claim that it is out of context and I'm making fun of the bible grin grin grin
It simply means u never understood the Bible RHEMALLY but LOGOLLY.
How do u get insights of the Bible when u read it like ''Nothing lasts forever''.
When u have the Holy Sprirt to interpret, no confusion!
Anybody can easily twist the Bible to suit him/herself!
Being an atheist is cowardly!

crackhouse: meaning they should not spearhead the affairs of the church or dictate how the church will be governed. Have u heard of a woman being among jesus apostles? All the apostles were males, right?. Just Wondering why we have female pastors & general overseers these days. Will i say it's Family business, when the pastor dies the wife takes over. Endtime
NOPE!
''Go ye into the world and preach the good news''
Was Jesus talking to the men alone?
Christianity Etc › Re: Should Women Be Silent In Churches? by ayobase(m): 1:57pm On Jun 24, 2012
logicboy01: Please, I am waiting for christians to explain this new testament verse;

1 Corinthians 14;34
women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says
Good question!
We should be able to discern btw God's commands and Paul's ethical commands according to I Corinthians 7:10 and 7:12.
With this, different churches with different doctrines. Doctrines are okay when they ethically godly!
With Corinth history ''Corinthians worshipped money and things it could purchase.
The city was a sprawling open-air market. They had their means of inflating prices when a ship wrecked.
Corinthians was second to Rome with a population of about 700,000.
In a nutshel, Corinth was a so civilised city where u can find parade of Roman diplomats and dignitaries.''
Corinthins treated women like slaves and properties.
In their days, women sitting with men discussing was abnormal, likewise in Church, and this was already bringing chaos in the church. Women questioning the authority of men in the church.
Like u behave like Roman, when in Rome and like Nigerian when in Nigeria.
Remember this ''Corinth looming as the city that was least likely to convert with crazy cults and new religions springing up there quickly, Paul was able to work in Corinth for 18months, and to everyone's surprise, the church he founded became one of the largest in the first century. But several years later, he heard reports that the church, true to its city's heritage, had broken out in a series of spritual ills.''
For Paul to solve chaos in church's meetings, 'he' simply gave the advice(command) that the women should stay clear.
U can ask question about anything when alone with ur husband.
But, we here is Nigeria, we dont treat our women like slaves....so, my wife, mount the stage and preach the word of God!

Billyonaire: Why approach a girl on the street ? That brings nothing but insult, i believe a man on the street has a destination so to start approaching girls is deviation from focus, its why girls embarrass them. If you need a lady, go to the club. If you need a wife, street is not an option.
Common, whats d biggie in talking to a lady on the street.....u shld have if u are caring!

Deeicash: Hello you!
My day is going fine, thanks...Its about 1:30pm.
How are you? And i hope your day was beautiful as you say you are smiley
Partdon me, i'm a tease
Thank you for your reply.
Questions still...
Your response is contractdictory i think
God didn't make an exception for Paul yet he had a special calling that prevented him from marriage?
And don't get me started with the pope, we all know there are no virgins in vetican city.
They are as rotten as the next man...No offense to catholics.
So if i say i don't want to be married but need a relationship and intimacy (in line with the God's law)
Would that make me a crazy person?? Unethical? Or non-nigerian??
How about soul mate? What are your thoughts on that?

My day is been great...Im unwinding in a club right now.....dont think abt that!
We are saying the same thing....God didn't make an exception for Paul, God made use of him due to his nature. The calling didnt prevent him from marrying. He had different nature from other apostles...He was very zealous and God took advantage of that. There was never a record that he was married before the great encounter.
Pls, lets not go catholic here.
Marriage is not at a particular age...no excuse for fornication....besides being like Paul, its either u married or fornicating.
''(In line with God's word)?
Soul mate?...ur soul mate should be ur partner in marriage!

Deeicash: Hello,
My question is to Ayobase again...
Did God make an exception for Paul??
I really would like to know your thoughts on this.
Nope, he wasn't.
Based on his lifetime, he was very busy, and dedicated to whatever his hands found doing, even handiwork!
He was such a very industrious man, and I wanna believe God explored and exploited that 'advantage' for the Gospel!
Paul's salvation was unique, which simply meant God was SO MUCH interested in him.
It happens in our days also, check out men exemplarily chosen by God for His work. Lets leave that for another day!
Back to Paul's, Paul could control himself based on I Corinthians 6:8-9.
He was always preoccupy with the Gospel, and with that, he must have had less to think of a woman.
Why do u think we have Pope!....another controversial issue in the Christendom.
He was always on d go, and almost always in the prison, he wouldnt have enjoyed his marriage in the first place.

Off discussion: Howz ur day?
