wayaa007:Yes i know, although i was not given at the VAC, i heard they sold it for 1k then.....but that questionnaire is on the last two pages of the Study Permit Guide for Nigeria. Well except there's a new system now that i dont know about sha. |
lucaschase:1. Study permit questionnaire is the last 2 pages of the study permit guide. You should get the study permit guide on cic site along with the application kit. 2. No it won't be a red flag. CIC cannot know how much you have in your account, they can only ask if the soa was fake or was doctored. Besides, people use a fixed deposit account as proof of funds.....i think we've had some people who did that here, and they got their trvs |
Governoryomi:Now i don't know where you stand. If you already submitted your application before paying tuition, how do you show proof that you paid to CIC? If your admission is conditional upon paying tuition, and the deadline for tuition fee payment is not close, then i see no reason why you should pay before applying for study permit. It will only be a problem if you didn't pay your tuition by the time you're at the point of entry. But if the deadline was close, then you'd just have to pay. For instance if the deadline was August and you submitted your application in may or June, I see no reason why you should pay. But if the deadline was may 1 and you're submitting your app on may 2nd, then you may want to show proof that you met that condition. **Fact*** 1. CIC discourages making any financial commitment without a positive visa app outcome 2. CIC says, an Applicant with a conditional admission letter must show proof that s/he has or will meet the the admission conditions. So if your deadline was July, and you submitted a SoA which holds the tuition fees when you submitted your app in May, then you would have successfully shown proof of meeting your admission condition. My opinion though. |
bolasie:To the best of my knowledge, embassy has no right to confirm your acct balance from any bank. It is also very unprofessional for any bank to release you accounting information to 3rd party, except with a court order. What banks do is they confirm if a statement originated from them and if the statement has been doctored or if it's fake. And that's what they report to embassies. So you shouldn't have issues transferring your money to another account. But if i may ask, why do you wanna pay tuition without knowing outcome of your app? I personally dont think it's a good idea. |
Abbeybim:If your wife studied Accounting, and now wanna come for the PGD, it's cool. But i think you're a red flag already, because of your Masters degree. And now you wanna go for a PGD....the progression doesn't seem right to me. It normally may not be an issue, but the season we are in right now is an abnormal one, and I dont think you need to complicate issues for yourself or your wife. So i will advise you allow your wife apply, while you'll be her sponsor. You will not only serve as her sponsor but also a tie that she would return to Nigeria. Immediately she gets her trv, before leaving naija, you can also apply for a visiting visa to Canada....and since you have a job, i believe that wouldn't be difficult. When you get here, you may be able to submit your spousal work permit app from within canada or worse case do it in naija. I will strongly recommend that both of you shouldn't apply. That will be a super red flag. And in fairness, your wife stands a better chance (if all she's got is just a Bsc and nothing more) than you do. |
stephike1:Good! Just package it passionately and show proof you truly have a career. Be very convincing, do your best and then back it up with prayers. I believe CIC dont have a general rule for all applicants, and each application is treated differently. I wish you God's best |
SKINNYBADGUY:Put your trust in God. It's never late and God's plan for you will surely come to pass......besides most schools allow up to two weeks after official resumption date. So keep the faith and never lose hope |
hayqinsbFX:It is well bro. God will make way and favour you IJN. I'm trusting God she will also come here by September by God's grace. Thanks for asking |
sholay2011:I dey Alberta o, Saint Paul precisely. Winnipeg far o. This permit has now turned to Gold. Just too tough now. Gone are the days when you get med call within 2 weeks and get trv within 5 weeks. What didn't matter before is now a big deal. May God favour all applicants on this Thread. |
hayqinsbFX:@Ak i admire your persistent and i believe there's a way God rewards those that are persistent. I pray you receive favour IJN. |
sholay2011:Bros i gentle o. I say make i check my people here again......o tojo meta. Where are you @? I was almost giving it up too for Australia or UK or some where else.....but I just felt, i'm not gonna give up.....now the persistent has indeed paid off. |
MsLee:1. We've had on this thread those that sponsored themselves and they got their trv. But what worked for Mr AB may necessary not work for Mr BA, even though they both have A and B. So my candid advice, get a sponsor in addition to what you have in your account. 2. You dont have to worry yourself about this. Just believe in your heart he's your Uncle or S/he's your Aunt, and claim that in your app. Let s/he also claim you as nephew or niece. After all, culturally we were brought up to see any one older that us as our uncle or aunt or father or mother....lol... you just need to write a very good sponsorship letter. 3. That depends on your tuition and the duration of your program. If it's just a year masters with tuition of less than 10k cad, i'd say 5 to 8m. 4. It is NOT NECESSARY at all. I guess the officer that added that just took some wet weed when he prepared the guide. Anyway i didn't add that to my app sha. And finally, I wish you God's best |
Toluwaase:Hmmm, biko to be on a safe side, look for a sponsor and just use the sponsor's details.......the level of trust these people have for us has not gotten to that level |
ayeyemi91:Just use your dad's if there's sufficient funds in it. You actually shouldn't need to show any more proof of funds since you got a scholarship to cover all your expenses, but to just be on a safe side, you might wanna have a balance of say 5m. |
TheDreamChaser:None that i've heard of. Probably because i didn't laminate any of my results/certificates. |
STENON:Lol.... you actually can not blame him.....you don't know what he's going through......he may end up in Libya don't worry. Guys, don't be discouraged!!! Trust me being in Canada is worth all these stress 10 times over.....if not for your sake, do for the sake of you kids and give them that dual citizenship. |
bombman:Did you submit his cac document? Co2 and co7 to show his shareholding in the company? Did he get a reference letter for you from his bank? How good was your sponsorship letter? Was it convincing enough? You definitely got something wrong. |
hayqinsbFX:As much as i think you're right, it is also not a minus. The thing is, i dont see a reason for anyone to declare s/he has a family in Canada except if the person is his/her sponsor or immediate family member whose details must be provided in the Family information form. |
Mizbaby:If he was denied based on insufficient funds, that probably will be because the funds are neither in the applicant's country of residence nor destination. And not because his sponsor was in the US. The SOJ's sister had similar issue, her sponsor was in the US, and she was refused. But then she applied again, in the 2nd app her sponsor already transfered money required for 1 year tuition and living expenses to Canada, and at that time the funds available to her was already in her country of destination (Canada). She jejeli chop her trv with smile and joy...... So i think we all need to understand some of these reasons to avoid avoidable mistakes. |
Mizbaby:Lol.... sorry ma, but the goal of Canadian education system is not to attract funds.....we're the ones coming to them and not the other way round. Besides they dont care where the money is coming from, they just want to be sure the money exist. If they want the mobey from outside, then they should also deny ppl on scholarship visa.....as some of these scholarships are funded with Government money..... |

rommyayo:What is your profile? What program are you going for? What is your current level of education and when did you finish? What have you been doing since you completed your last program? Your issues have more to do with your employment situation and relationship between what you studied and currently do, and what you intend to study here in Canada. As for insufficient fund, the VO probably don't believe your sponsor would indeed sponsor you. You might want to tell him to save some money in your name or transfer some money to your account to show more commitment. Your sponsor being in Canada does not in any way limit ur chances, because funds available for your study could either be in your country of residence or destination. Lastly on travel history, dont be too happy about Dubai, i honestly dont think it's regarded as travel history. It's not like you have a choice not to return to naija, or a visa stamp on ur passport. The good thing is that you dont need travel history to get Canada, countless ppl got it on a virgin passport. So i think you just need to tackle 1. Purpose of visit 2. Employment situation 3. Insufficient fund |
stephike1:You stand a chance, but you need to passionately explain yourself to the Visa Officer. I don't believe there's a general rule, and each application is treated differently. But it will be tough, if you dont explain convincingly what you've been doing since 2011, and how that prevented you from furthering your education, till this time......of all times, when the economic situation of Nigeria is "better" to say the least....... BTW, you didn't say what work you've been doing. |
Mizbaby:Usually, travel history, length of stay, and family ties are only used to garnish other reasons.....you hard would see any of these reasons stand alone. I mean u'll hardly see someone denied solely on any of these 3 reasons. While i believe we all know what insufficient fund is. It simply means the VO does not believe an Applicant has enough funds or does not believe the sponsorship claim is genuine. Purpose of visit basically has to do with an Applicant's program of study in Canada in relation to his academic or professional background. For instance, you studied biology in undergrad, and going for Msc in Economics. Also has to do with study gaps. Finally employment situation means chances of an Applicant getting job in his country of residence is slim, hence his reason for traveling abroad. None of these reasons have anything to do about having someone in Canada. I also avoid disclosing information about my family members and friends in the country i'm applying to for visas, because of the fear that the VO might think i'm gonna abscond. And i also wont advise anyone to claim ties with ppl abroad while applying for visa, but if the person(s) is your immediate family....like your siblings or parents, you just MUST DECLARE them, else you will be lying and it sure will come back and hurt you later. I stand to be corrected anyway..... |
jigato:Create a case enquiry.....they hardly reply mails. |
Holu26:Lol, smart thinker . But if a school does not have a start date for Winter for a particular program, you cannot defer your admission to that semester. So getting admission for fall and deferring to winter WILL NOT WORK (for programs with no start date for winter), you will only be allowed to defer to next fall......because the set of courses that would be taken in Winter would be those with prerequisites from previous fall semester. The only reason a school won't admit for Winter semester is because they have no start date for Winter......... You can either widen your search or you settle for Fall Semester..... Cheers |
jaybmich:Depending on the school you're applying to, in most cases early application does not influence your chances of being accepted at all. Because most schools don't start processing until after deadline has passed. Truth is MUN is about the cheapest or one of the cheapest in Ca, and hence becoming most applicants choice. I think the same goes for Saskatchewan too. Admission to these schools that used to be very easy couple of months back (because of their harsh weather) has become very competitive. Three major factors i know determine admission are Referees' assessment, Statement of Purpose and GPA. As much as your result is an important factor, SOP and Referees' assessment are more important. No good school will accept an Applicant they have no adequate provision for. For instance, if you applied to a school to study Msc in say Mech. Engineering and you stated in your SOP u'd like to focus on "strength of materials", but the department has no supervisor with that interest, the school would rather not accept you. So take your time to go through Supervisor' research interest and be sure there's at least one supervisor in your line of interest. Or just make your area of study very simple but MEANINGFUL and SENSE-MAKING I will also suggest you write the program administrator or admission officer or Departmental/faculty officer, perhaps s/he could be kind enough to point out reasons why you were not accepted. Finally, always check how competitive a program is, and compare with your result......and be very honest with yourself...... I wish you all the best |
goldenmoore:When is the deadline for your deposit payment? My candid opinion, if the deadline is at least 6 weeks, don't make any payment. |

I agree. Don't be over anxious of tomorrow, tomorrow will take care of itself. Only make financial commitment when your visa is out. I also don't see CBN devaluing naira soon. |
notasowie:I don't know too, but I know they don't do so much of pgd programs. |
notasowie:Si what do you need? |
