1. Is it that they have sent the passport back with the courier service I used?
2. Is there going to be a separate mail that will contain letter of approval? Cos my cic said my app has been approved.

Congrats bro. If the account says your app has been approved then it has been approved! Wait for dispatch mails from vfs.

hello house, I have been reading and I have not seen any answer to the situation...the schools i applied to do not require IELTS or any standardized test for that matter....But i read that the score in IELTS adds 'points' to application (google) has anyone tried this and worked? i mean not done IELTS and still got the visa? I downloaded the forms today and there was a place asking if one has written any test?

I am already thinking of how to write it before the year runs out...please advice!

Besides, the fact that your family has a land does not prove anything. It is not your own, there's no proof u have a share in it, so just take your mind off it. You will be fine without it

Don't worry bro, u won't be delayed! Looks like the rate of visa refusal has reduced in the last few weeks.....or maybe people are just not disclosing it sha, because there's been a few cases of refusal since September. So dont lose hope!

Ok, I think I understand you well now. The courses that relates to the intended school and your performance at post secondary will determine the number of course load one will do. While decision for admission is dependent on if you meet their UG requirements.

I understand where your coming from. But there are schools out there that do not only compare the courses you did at post secondary, they also look at your performance. Lets take it like this, if there is a course you did at post sec. and it relates with theirs and your performance in that course isn't all that good, i doubt if they will wave that for you as they also have standards.

we are saying exactly the same thing bro. If one didn't do well in that particular course, they will never waive it, but my point is they won't or shouldn't use the post secondary transcript to make admission decisions.

I can't say about that. You might be correct. Though some schools might wana know your performance and use that to know/rate you if you can cope in the program you applied for. Schools won't wana spoil their reputation.

I doubt if any school will use an applicant's past undergrad record to judge such applicant, else they will be encouraging applicants not to disclose such info. They also know shit happens, the fact that you didn't do well in biology does not mean you won't do well in physics, the fact that you didn't do well in Nigeria does not mean you won't do well in Canada. I think admission decision will be based on the school's or department's admission requirements, I.e waec or neco, toefl or ielts etc. The post secondary transcript is just to award course/credit waiver. But this applies to undergrad admission only.
Just my thinking, I stand to be corrected.

It's better not to involve her. If you have a sponsor here in naija, it's ok to just use ur naija sponsor. If her soa is good, then she could be ur sponsor or co-sponsor. Just know this; having a sister in Canada will not influence the outcome of ur application in any way.

That's not true! If you're going for undergrad, the school will ask for transcript from all the post secondary schools u've attended. The reason basically is to compare what you've done (in terms of courses) with what you will do at the Uni, and then see possibility of waiving some courses for you, with that you will offer less courses and of course pay less. But if unfortunately there's no relationship between the two (that is the old and new) then you will have to offer all the courses with no waiver at all. And also, if you didn't do so well in your first undergrad, you shouldn't be worried as it won't affect the outcome of the school's decision on admission, as the decision will be based on your O'level result and probably SoP (not sure referee is required for undergrad).

Though I didn't do online, but I don't think u'll get any receipt notification. Normally it takes about 48hrs after they receive your passport to issue you trv, but things are unpredictable with CIC these days......just keep calm, and you will be fine by God's grace!

You got approval mail, so u sent what through courier? If what you sent to embassy was your passport, then I should ask you to check the mails you got well, it probably may be passport request mail. But if it's approval mail like you claim, then I honestly don't understand you question.

Bros, dont worry urself. Your SP has been approved, it cant be reversed! Your passport will be dispatched! I think the normal procedure is sending passport to vfs in Ghana, then vfs in Ghana will send to vfs in Nigeria. Most dispatches are done on Mondays (I guess that's just to conserve cost) except when they have a number of passports to send...... my thinking though. But just take it cool. U'll be fine!

I tracked on Thursday or so, and it has been been dispatched. Don't worry, we should get our dispatch mails from vfs on Monday by God's grace. Relax!

hello house. I am new here.I was able to secure admission into a masters program in university of Manitoba for January 2016. I applied for my study visa on the 9th of September via paper and am yet to get a response, not even medical call yet. am really worried. i would like to know if there is anyone who applied same day and have gotten feedback from CIC

Don't be troubled, u will be just fine. You're still within normal application processing time. It takes about 46 days (unconfirmed though) normally before medical call, some ppl are only lucky to get it earlier. So remain hopeful.

Lol. Thanks for asking. Yeah he and I were preoccupied with it for the past month and half.
We submitted it this Monday and he did biometrics the next day. We did online route. The documentation for his application was as perfect as we could make it. Yet, he is a complex applicant because he doesn't have an employment letter... he has been a software developer for four years since NYSC and he didn't register his company (until recently... though we didn't include the recent CAC as it may look fishy) so for proof of what he's been doing, we included attestation of work letters from several of his clients, and also included several descriptive multi-page demos/screenshots of some of the software he's developed. His CV was also detailed & concise about the different software & clients and how he wrote the software. He's really good at software... I think the demos will impress the VO. Most of his clients are small so it's not like he made a lot of money doing it, but he just has a passion for good coding (not just simple websites)... we were transparent about this in the app.

In his SOP, we were also open about why he decided to be an independent software developer and not get a job with some big company. I believe the SOP was extraordinarily good (lol... it took so long to perfect it). In it, we were transparent about everything, yet mostly focused on my brother's passions, how he has grown being on his own as a developer since finishing NYSC, and what he plans to do in Naija with the additional training in Canada... if the VO reads the SOP I think his chance of getting approved is like 90%... if the VO doesn't read the SOP then his chances are probably like 35%... gotta be objective lol. In any case, we have a backup plan if Canada doesn't work. I doubt that we would apply again if he doesn't get it. This application was the best we could do.

I trust you bro. We can only trust God now and hope for the best! God will do it!

It's indeed strange. Similar to that of the guy that got medical call and about few hours later (after he got to clinic and his account didn't check out) got a refusal notice. Something must have gone wrong. Probably one of their credentials didn't check out or the V.O suddenly discovered a point that shouldn't be overlooked. What was the reason for refusal?

You cannot know, u can only ask IMO of they've sent your result. Like I said earlier, don't fret, CIC will get your result and by God's grace, your application will be granted
