EmmaMsc: I am interested in this too.
cc khalesi thesoj siga iyaejima ayooluwatoni Yes I think you shouldn't have issues with those items. The major product they don't accept is dairy......like milk and other dairy products. I think they don't allow meat products too....although I'm not sure about meat, but very positive about dairy. Other food items are cool. Then drugs, u may want to hide them, if u'd be traveling with drugs, especially antibiotics, to avoid unnecessary questions about prescription and the likes..... I wrapped mine inside my suit, although not to Canada; but they have almost the same rules/policies. But don't lie about any of your stuff if asked by immigration officers, as it may put u in trouble.....except if u're a sure smart liar.....lol |

ganiyuadeoye: Use the 2, Ur uncle and major sponsor and dad as co-sponsor. @ eller, you can use your uncle if he's got sufficient funds. Your sponsor doesn't have to be ur parent. However you can also use your dad's corporate account, depending on his shareholding in the company and the willingness of other partners to agree to your sponsorship from the company's account. I don't know if that makes sense to you.... |

Godymn: Thanks for the response
But please, will this be okay:
Tuition: 15kCAD Room & Board: 10kCAD Other: 1KCAD Total: 26KCAD
I just don't wana give room for errors and to do over sabi because some VO's might want one to calculate both tuition and mandatory fees together. So, I was hoping if I can calculate everything and put there and also drop something for "Other".
***Appreciate*** It's ok, if that's what the fees are.... |

Godymn: Dear All,
Please, I want to confirm something. When declaring tuition fees in the documents to be filled, is it that we put only tuition fees or we add up other mandatory to get the fees for one year. For example, Tuition fees = 13970CAD (2 Semester)
Mandatory fees include U-Pass = 120CAD Health & Dental = 162CAD Athletics = 70CAD ...etc
The total fees, will it be 13970 (approx. 14kCAD) or 14322 (including the mandatory fees)
What is your advise on this please?
***Appreciate*** Under tuition fees, just tuition fees. Other fees excluding room and board should come under "others". You may shoot yourself by putting other fees under tuition, because for sufficient funds, you must show at least your tuition fee + 10k (living expenses for a year, which should include ur accommodation, feeding, insurance, student levies, transport etc). So that's gonna raise your tuition fees higher than normal, and would also mean double payment (so to speak). |

Please should apply online or come back to 9ja and apply? I need u guys plsss What were the reasons given? You should know what is pursuing you before running. Let's know why you were denied and what documents you submitted. I believe you have a legal residents status in UAE. dejilale: Please ppl, I was accepted at NBCC for a year program and I have started the processing but I met an agent who told me I coukd be refused a visa that the programes offered at NBCC are vocational programes, pls what are my chances of getting visa? Must my sponsor be related to me? Well I dont know NBCC. But what you should ask yourself is this: 1. Is NBCC a designated learning Institute? 2. Will your program lead to a degree? 3. Is your program a full time program? 4. Is your program related to ur undergrad/employment? If YES is the answer to all those questions, then I see no reason why u should be able to get visa. And to your second question, NO your sponsor does not have to be ur family, but parent sponsorship has a lot of weight, followed by family (brother sister uncle aunt etc), and you don't have to bear the same name/surname. .......I believe u know what that means |

NaD720: A quick question House.
How can you fix an error whereby a VO misunderstood your previous travel history. I submitted copies of my visas and documentation of my previous trip, stamps of immigration in and out, yet I cannot understand why the VO would state such on my gcms note. See attached picture. May I know the countries you've visited? Because some countries/visas don't really count. |

ikem01: Thanks for the input but I finished my bachelor's degree in 2014 June ND completed my NYSC 2015 July, the only study gap I have is abt 4months..is it too much.. Anyways how do I eradicate that personal asset, Of course not. 4 months is not too much. You have to check your form again and be sure you filled it correctly, maybe you gave the VO an impression that you've been working. Did you submit your personal soa? |
Travel › Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by ayooluwatoni(m): 4:45pm On Dec 12, 2015 |
ikem01: OK, so what's ur take to it, cos all the financial parts were ticked, also personal asset and relationship with sponsor. This is what they ticked Your case is not too complicated. It's basically about your sponsor's financial standing and about your own. If your sponsor's soa was good, then it could be that the VO didn't believe s/he would actually sponsor you. Which means, you should work on your sponsorship letter, if your sponsor is not your dad/mum, you should make the VO understand why s/he will be expending so much fortune on you, and also state the exact amount that would be given to you, put his/her Name on the sponsor column in your study permit application and also think of other things that would make the VO believe you. Also work on your personal asset. I'm guessing you must have stated in your application you were working or had study gap, so you should show proof of what you've been doing since you graduated. I wish u all the best |

Sorry about that. However it is not strange, I've heard people having issues with proving relationship with sponsors. How did you fill the "sponsor column" on your study permit app? BVNO: Hi everyone, pls I recently gained admission to study Masters in Engineering management, I have B.Eng in Computer engineering. Currently working as business development executive/ HSE SUPERVISOR. I want to go with my 11months old baby, whom I will put in crèche through out my studies, and a nanny during the to take care of him during weekend to enable me study. My husband is the one sponsoring us.
My questions are:
1. What are chances of getting visa, if I am to travel with him?
2. How much should I have in my statement of account to show that we are capable to foot the bill?
3 what other documents should I add to convince the VO.
Pls I need your candid advice/ response.
Thank you. You will honestly need to do a good job convincing the VO why s/he should allow you go to Canada to study a course that is totally not related to your current occupation. You're going for Engineering Management, you studied computer engineering and you're working as a business development executive........ it is kind of complicated and honestly if I were to be the VO, I'd either believe you lied about your job and in fact not employed, or assume you won't return to Nigeria after your study in Canada, because the program you're going to study in Canada is TOTALLY NOT RELATED and will not add to your existing role where you currently work. So what is the point of going for a program that will not boost your chances of being promoted. Which means you'd probably not return to the job after your program......which also indirectly means you'd be job hunting. So tell me why you'd want to return to a country where 1 out of 500 graduates gets job without knowing anyone. I don't know if you understand me, but I wish you do, because if you don't, you may have issues of "purpose of visit" and "length of proposed stay". I'm not an angel of doom, but I think it's better you know these little things that though can easily be tackled but give applicants serious problems and make it look like one witch in the village is after them. About your son, his fate depends on you, his chances are good once yours as the principal applicant is good, you may only need to show more available funds. Don't be scared by my long sermon (lol), just prepare a good Letter of Explanation, to explain to the VO why you wanna study that course. It has to be convincing. I wish you all the best. |

iykedare: Some errors? What could these errors be? What percentage (random figure) of people are denied visa after medical? 10%, 60% ,70%?
What do you guys think? Thesoj, mantiger, onyeoma, seiraries, berexio1, ayooluwatoni. It's difficult to give a %. I just think all applications go through a final brief reassessment before a decision is made. So at that stage, the errors that can be overlooked will be overlooked and those that can't be overlooked won't of course be overlooked, and hence result in a refusal. But I'm sure you understand it's only a speculation. ....as I'm not related to any VO or consular. I really don't think you should disturb yourself with delay after medicals. Just try your best and package your application well, and don't make any financial commitment or cast yourself until you get your TRV. |

Didn't do an up-front medical. Refused : 1 Reason : insufficient balance to pay for my fees. Lol. Isn't that funny but not funny
quote author=berexio1 post=40725623]Your sponsor's balance seem cool.. But the house needs to know more on your profile like what course u did @UG and what course u are going for? any gaps? docs submitted and all.. If you dont mind, I'd suggest you request for your gcms file. So you can see what the VO saw. Else you may just keep trying and not tackle the actual problem. From what I see to ur app, it's either a slight error from the VO or from you. Not sure there's any prob with ur credentials. |

I am expecting a graduate admission by January or February latest. recently I have reasons to wanna defer the admission for 2 years if given. should I inform the admission committee to consider my admissions session for next two years or wait till I get the admission in February before advising them to defer my admission. theSoj and other members please help. If I were you, I would get my admission and trv first, before I now defer my admission, because CIC kinda work with time. Nonetheless, i think you should wait until a decision is made on your application, then you can send a mail to them for deferment. |
