Theanonymous9: Pls, I'd like to know the chances of getting a study permit without having to pay the school fee. My sponsor is my in-law. He owns his own company, also partners with a cement industry here and a truck company abroad. I'm certain his effort and that of my family members(also sponsor) can cook up a good financial background but can I get TRV with that?
Also, I'd like to say a big well done to all the contributors here. This question has been repeatedly asked and answered on this thread......you just make people unwilling to respond to posts/questions on this thread if you continue to ask questions that have been answered more than 20 times on this thread. You are not required to make any financial commitment (tuition fee payment, airline/ticket booking, hotel/accommodation bookings etc) before you get ur trv, as it is entirely at your own risk. This is also clearly stated in the Study Permit Guide. However, some schools offer conditional admission, with a condition that some amount or portion of the tuition fees be paid before a set date. In that case, payment of tuition fees will be considered as a condition for admission, failing to pay will mean you have not met the condition(s) for your admission. But that doesn't still negate the fact that you are paying that money at your own risk. wishing you luck. |

No one can tell u if u'll be admitted or not. We r not Angels. Just try and apply to at least two schools. If you can afford money for 3 or more, then go ahead. Work more on your SOP too. Admission decision is not entirely based on CGPA, they sometimes concentrate more on result for last 4 semesters, referees' assessment, applicant's field/major and SOP. Wishing you good luck |

thesoj: That's a bummer. Sorry to hear.
Yeah Canada and USA automatically share visa applicant information (it has been repeatedly discussed on the thread) so not disclosing a refusal from the other embassy can result in a swift refusal.
As per the additional reasons, was this your cousin's first Canada study TRV application? Either way, share his/her profile, i.e. UG or PG, course & program he/she is going for in Canada, what he/she has been doing in Naija since his/her last education qualification/degree. Also, did he/she submit an SOP?
The next best thing is to evaluate why this application failed and then reapply at a future date after having fixed all the loop holes. Can u imagine? And unfortunately those ppl who argue blindly about US/Canada sharing data won't be here to see this......they will just come from no where and start misleading people......rubbish! @thesoj which state and city are you? Currently in MD........dont mind hooking up |

judnele: Collect your TRV and go when u get to canada u can renew ur passport and study permit. It's normal. Since ur passport is expiring soon immediately u get der start asking questions on how to go about it or check google That's not even a problem. The study permit will be issued to cover the period of study, irrespective of the date on visa. The only issue is the person may not be able to travel outta Canada after his/her visa expires, but the study permit will still be valid and with that he/she can remain legally in Canada. |

berexio1: Yes PP request is next...And abt ur 2nd question, u want to know if she can still be delayed? Yes bt probability of delay after medical passed is 0.3 Hmmm... my brother, with the testimonies of people like us, and the nonsense CIC is doing this days, the probability of delay after medical passed is 50%. You've just got to keep trusting God until you get your passport back and you see the TRV starring at you the same way you're starring at it. We've had cases of delay after passport request sef, and @thesoj also talked about someone who was delayed after approval mail was received, but the last two cases are very rare and can be put at 0.3, but that of delay after medical passed is as normal as delay before medical call. God help and favour us all. |

EmmaMsc: In the online visa application, it is optional (I dont know about the paper route). But you can write write one to explain/clarify issues in your application that are not apparent to the VO. For example, if you have study gaps or going for a course that is not related in anyway to your undergraduate degree or work experience.
Cheers It is optional for paper too. It's only meant to explain things to the VO, so if there's nothing to explain, then there's no need for it. |

Thomby2k12: Can you please shed more light on the bolded. Normally, there are about 4 processes or so. X-ray, blood/urine test, seeing doctor for physical assessment and reading capabilities and lastly E-medicals, which is where a consent form would be generated and your photography taken. So In my own case, consultant Practice exempted me from the first three, so I did just the E-medicals and I paid 14k. The result was sent within 48hrs, as they only needed to transfer my previous result to my new IME number, which was used to send my result. I explained this same procedure to someone in ur current situation who also had his assessment at IOM, but they said it wasn't possible. He later went to Consultant practice for a fresh medical assessment. |

It's okay bro, God will go ahead of you and show you mercy and favour. I just don't personally like the co-sponsorship thing, I believe in 1 sure sponsor, instead of combination of different ones. But it's a personal opinion, not sure CIC have issues with it. Then you should be able to use fixed deposit. Someone on this thread once did that and it was successful. Fixed deposit can easily be liquidated, so reasonably, it can serve as a source of finance |

Thomby2k12: Hello my good people, please I need your advice on my study permit application. I submitted my first application on 19th June, 2015 via the paper route; I got a medical request on the 13th of July 2015, and I completed the medical examination on the 21st July, 2015 ,but the application was refused on the 28th of July, 2015.
I decided to submit the 2nd application late August 2015 via the online route, but when I got to the point where I was to upload the proof that I had undergone a medical examination within the last 12 months, I uploaded a copy of the proof of medical which was sent to me on request from IOM, where I did the medical.
Today, I received another medical request from CIC in MyCIC account. Please, do I need to go to IOM and do another test? Advice urgently needed. IOM is a big prob, at consultant practice, I was asked to pay 14k, then they transferred my previous medical result to my new IME number and I did e-medicals again. But didn't do any assessment again. Not sure IOM will do that for you, but still go there sha. If dey dont, then find your way to consultant practice. GOOD luck |

Can I submit the SOA (with very low balance) and the reference letter from the bank? Can dt fly in the eyes of the vo? can you just get 1 sponsor with a good balance? Not necessarily your relation. |

Urgent responses please.... I don't think you'll have such problem. You may just need to explain to the VO you can't get into master's with HND degree. ACA is a professional degree, totally different from Master's or PGD and can't be substituted for each other. my opinion |

mrpunter: Good Morning Everyone. I want to say a big thank you to everyone on here, you have no idea how much help you rendering to people. God Bless you all. I want to go for an undergraduate course hopefully Nursing in Canada. I only have my waec and Neco at the moment. But what i am wondering about is my age. I am 25 now, Will be 26 by Nov.. Please with my age which school can i pick or apply for. Or if i cant go with nursing, which course? The financial aspect is not a problem at all. I dont have any relative over there too. I want a course i can do in 2-3 years. urgent reply is needed. Thanks again
PLEASE SOMEONE SHARE MORE LIGHT ON THIS PLEASE your age is not a problem or barrier. What I envisage might be a challenge is your academic progression or should I say study gap. when did you finish secondary school? And what have you been doing since you finished? Please note that my concern is for study permit, and not admission. Getting admission into a nursing program may be a bit tedious, as such programs are highly competitive and I'm not sure you can enter a nursing program directly from Secondary School. I'm not sure though, but do help yourself too. Go through the requirements for nursing on the site of a number of schools, and push some mails across to the schools; with that you can be sure of first hand information. |

Did u receive a mail of such in your own case? No you won't. But I think CIC would recommend applicants who didn't pass the exam to go for further tests. So again I say unto you, RELAX! You're closer to getting your TRV than you ever imagined! |

dozlion: Good day Travel Canada. Pls, I really need your candid commentary on my issue. I was offered funding from my department in Uni of Toronto Canada for my gradute program and I made my application on the 5th of August 2015. I did upfront medicals the next day. Afterwards I got confirmatory messages from CIC that my application had been received on the 6th of August. However since then, I only had my CIC account updated once by the Canadian embassy. I wrote to them telling them my school had resumed since sept 8th and also referred them to the letter my supervisor had written to them on my behalf (I've been writing to the accra office). The response I got last week was that my application was on the queue for processing. I am surprised cos its past processing time and some of my friends who made paper applications have their visa already. I was also told to send a scanned copy of my upfront medicals to them. That was earlier today. Pls n pls what could be the problem cos I am so worried?? If they asked you to send scanned copy of ur upfront medicals, in my opinion that simply means your application has gotten to a stage where your medicals is required and they probably could not access it. So do the needful. Send what they asked you to send. Some people on this thread waited for over 6 months before getting their TRV, so there's nothing abnormal about your application. |

You can move the money to you salary account, and since u just wrote the exam, ur statement of account should show a good turnover and in fact inflow of your salary into the account which i think is the main thing. The VO would just like to see evidence that you're working, and the job pays well, hence no reason for abscondment |

You can send a scanned copy of your result from your first semester to last semester. And also check the school's requirement to know if toefl is compulsory or could be waived or substituted with "a proof of english proficiency letter" from your school here in Naija. If that is possible, request for the letter from your school asap and send to the person. GOOD LUCK |

fatanu: The two schools i applied to didnt require me to contact a supervisor, though it is advisable... i am also planning to approach them. As for the transcript, use your company name like they are the one requesting for the transcript, that way you will have your transcript at hand. thats how i did mine. If your program is a course based program, u really dont need a supervisor, but for research based programs, getting a supervisor is compulsory. Although u may get lucky, because I've heard of people getting admission without supervisor |

what is your view. To be on a safe side, you will still need to submit ur soa, to avoid being rejected on grounds of personal asset and finance + purpose of visit. So if you can raise your balance a bit, pls do. You will most likely need to proof that you've been in a good employment since 2010 when you graduated. |
