ajaereogechi:It is unsafe to receive dispatch mail without Approval mail, 98% of such cases end up in refusal. But getting Approval mail without dispatch mail is cool, the dispatch mail will come. Some get dispatch mail the same day, while it may take up to 2 weeks for others to get it, but there's no problem at all. So relax |
All thanks to God my Study Permit (Visa) has been Approved!!! First Application: Submission date: June 30, 2015 Medical Call: July 15, 2015 Medical Done: July 17, 2015 Refusal Date: July 28, 2015 Dispatch Date: August 3 Pick-up Date: August 10 Reason for Refusal: V.O was not sure I had sufficient fund to pay tuition without working in Canada. *** Lots of fasting, lots of prayers but the visa was refused! Second Application: Submission Date: August 19 Medical Call: September 2 Medical Done : September 2 Approval Mail: October 7 ***** Less fasting, Less Prayers. My conclusion, God did it, and I give all Glory to him. But I learnt something, God will not do for you what you should do yourself. Don't expect a miracle when you have failed to play your own role. |
lamama1:No! |
AverageNed:Sounds good. I want to assume you going for Masters and that your total tuition is not more than 20k, max of 10k per year. Truth is the balance should be okay on a 50/50 chances (because he's your father), but if you can appeal to your dad to raise it up to say 5m, pls do. You've been able to show that you have sufficient fund, but you've honestly not shown you have available funds....... what they ask for is "sufficient and available funds". You can check part 8 for a sample rejection letter, and see for yourself, so u'll understand. I wish you good luck |

Sorry I applied through paper route, so I really can't answer the first question. However it takes consultant practice about 1 week to send your result to CIC, while I think it takes 24 to 48hrs to update your medical result in ur acct. My Candid advice, nothing you do now can influence CIC's decision (except prayers). From experience this is about the toughest phase, u'll refresh ur account almost every hour and be forced to think and think. ....pls just get busy, and think less about the application...... If u track from now till God knows when, it won't make it faster. So pls hope for the best while you occupy yourself with something productive. I wish you Good luck |

AverageNed:I still think you need to proof you have sufficient funds. Could be in form of fixed deposit, savings or anything that can be easily converted. Having land and other fixed assets is good, but that shows family situation and probably home ties....... I stand to be corrected though, but I think the VO is interested in seeing the funds to be committed to your studies. Talk to your dad if there's any way he could raise his acct balance (could be a loan, or just grants from friends) to minimum of say 5m (for Graduate Prog) and say 9 to 10m (for Undergraduate). He's your father, and the VO knows he'll go to any length to sponsor you, so even if he's having just 4m, it will be preferred to that of uncle or friend or company sponsoring you with 6m balance. I'll advise you get the study permit guide for Nigeria on CIC site, and read it through. |
AverageNed:You really don't need all these, but it won't hurt if u add them anyway. The most important thing is ur dad's SOA with a good balance and a letter of sponsorship from him. He can further give his sponsorship claim more weight by transferring some funds (say the amount u'll need for a year in Canada or total amount u'll need for ur prog) into your account, and u'll also print your statement to reflect the payment made. But if you present all the doc u listed up here and the SoA is missing, or no sufficient fund in the account......It will only take God's intervention for you to escape visa refusal on grounds of insufficient funds. I wish you good luck |
ayoshyne:Relax, looks like CIC is taking rest after the crazy peak period that just passed. It's been taking more time to grant trv after medicals....unlike before that took 2 to 7 days after they received medical result. Just calm down, and u'll be fine. |
Avalon316:Funny you.... you have no reason to be worried. Your statement should be printed not earlier than the month preceding the month u'll submit your application |
Avalon316:I totally agree with @thesoj. It's better to take your time and give it 1 good shot, than being in a haste and messing it all up. Please just exercise some patience and get the payment receipt. Not that it is compulsory to pay tuition before applying for SP (in fact CIC don't encourage making any financial commitment until your SP is approved), but in your case, payment deadline is just a week from now, so that may raise one or two questions.......if truly you have the funds you claimed in your application. I'm not sure, but you should be able to generate your receipt from your student portal/account, even if bank's receipt takes forever. In addition, bank should also provide some paper work to evidence your payment, while you wait for the receipt.......I'm not sure about all these though. Good luck |
Godymn:Look for a notary public, not sure there's a fixed price, it all depends on the notary public. I can hook you up with one if you reside in Ibadan. But I don't think a notary public is hard to find anyway. |
fraque192:Well, except you have your Study Permit already....but if you're just gonna apply for study permit.....I'm afraid it's late. It's late to apply for study permit by mid November for winter intake, talk less of applying for admission......except you just get lucky or favored |
Cr22424:Lol! You asked because you don't know, and you don't know not because you're dumb, but just because you dont know! You can get your statement of result from the school you finished Sec Skul, and support it with your waec result. If you'll need to send hard copies, then you should consider sending notarized copies, so you won't lose your original credentials. But you should ask the school first. I wish you good luck |
Giov:You're over 30 years old, you're working, but your dad and sis will be sponsoring you. There may be a problem. 1. I hope there's a progression in the course you studied (UG) + your role in your current employment + the course you wanna study in Canada. 2. I hope you have something to show for the work you've been doing for over 3 years......things like landed properties, fixed/current assets etc 3. The leave letter is not compulsory, but please ensure you get the introduction letter, it speaks volume. 4. If you have saved up enough money which will be sufficient for your tuition+living+ miscellaneous expenses in Canada, I will advise you just sponsor yourself, or if you're married, ur spouse can sponsor/co-sponsor you. But if that is not possible, I will advise you move enough funds from your sister's account to your dad's account and to your own personal account, and have just 1 sponsor or you be the co sponsor. Please don't get me wrong, it is not bad that your sis or/and dad wanna sponsor you, but age is against you, and you're working......so if I were to be the VO, I would question what u've been doing with your money, and probably conclude your job is not paying enough, so yoi wanna try your luck in Canada. I wish you all the best. |
kessluvall:The class is not as important as the cgpa. So let us know your last CGPA and also your GPA for the last 4 semesters at Uni. You may have to go for a PGD first though, but knowing these info will help guys here to advise you appropriately |
bonen:having previous visa refusal(s) will never affect your husband's chance(s) of getting visa, as long as he meets the necessary requirements, which basically is having a regular and well paying job here in Nigeria and having sufficient fund in his account, and then not having any criminal record or no seen as threat to Canada. The fact that you don't have a job might limit your chance except you can prove beyond reasonable doubt that you decided not to work, not because you didn't get job. But if you ask me, I'd advice you and your husband apply for visa. Your SoA is supper! And of course you can't be so wicked and mean as to leaving your 3 kids in Nigeria because of a trip to Canada....... is it heaven? make the VO see it from that perspective! Just write a good "Letter of Explanation" for the VO, and let the VO know you live fine in Nigeria, you just want your child to be trained abroad. i wish you good luck |
sholay2011:Yes you're required to state all your visa refusals..... that should be towards the ending part of tte Study Permit application |
suxes2005:I use gtb and it works fine....but when it comes international transactions, gtb is a big "corporate thief", with unfriendly exchange rates |
meko007:1. Yes Canada and USA share data about visa applicants. 2. You should be able to use company's SoA (but the SoA may not be checked sef......USA ain't hard on SoA like Canada) 3. If the system is the same, you will know the outcome immediately after interview (no go come). However your visa will be issued within 2 to 3 working days after the interview (depending on the embassy - Lag is 3 days, Abj is 2 days - all things being equal) |
bigwig10:Not sure any of us can answer this question! Some got their TRV within 2 weeks and some got theirs after 6 months |
Grateful2015:Well, I'm sure no commercial bank in Nigeria will "ever" disclose the balance in their customers' account to third party, not even to the embassy, except there's a court order or instruction from CBN! Bank can only verify if the SoA is Original or has been doctored or if it originated from them or not. So yes you can withdraw the money.....but it is not advisable! |
.. |
lexyj123:U dont have to notarize, but if you however insist, he does not have to sign anything, the notary public in charge will sign it and put a seal on it. |
mikel88:Sorry I'm in transit. Pls talk to @teesboy or @thesoj. Or just search google.com Good luck |
ganiyuadeoye:Memorial university of Newfoundland |
Grateful2015:Mehn! Lots of questions!!! Lolz. I'll start from 2. 2. Your dad can present any of his SoAs, but me will advise you get his personal savings/current whichever has more than 6 to 10M bal, and you can combine both. But if you'll be submitting his company's SoA, you will have to submit his company's CAC certificates too. 3. That is not true. A lot of people got their visa on a virgin passport! Having travel history does not guarantee TRV, but a well packaged application will get you ur TRV. 4. No you don't have to notarize any document. You can only add photocopy of his international passport and visa pages. You can add photocopy of pictures with him 5. If you can have all the money you need transferred into your account, that will be super! If not, your dad's SoA + his sponsorship letter should be sufficient. 6. No! Photocopy 7. No, you dont have to do any exam. I wish you best of luck |
ajaereogechi:The first guy that assisted you got you into this mess, however, you should be fine this time, as it appears you've submitted all the necessary documents. Just intensify prayers and remain positive! |
ajaereogechi:No medical call too? That's serious but not new. Don't worry, it will end in praise. We've had on this thread people that waited for over 3 months and even some that waited for over 6 months. Keep yourself occupied and don't think about it too much. Remain positive, and when the thought of something you felt you didn't do right (about your application) comes, flush it out immediately, don't allow it stay.....because it only brings negativity (as you cannot correct any error on ur app again at this time), which will weigh you down and allow you accept defeat......even when you're victorious! Cheers.....your TRV is on the way! |
Sammypraise:I really dont know, but the people at the VAC are human beings and they know shit happens. if you're in Lagos, and where the original receipt is is truly far (outside Lagos) then u can go with the photocopy of the receipt + photocopy of your passport data page. I don't know for sure if it will work, but it should work. Or better still, give vfs a call to present your case! |
teesboy:Lol! My bad then..... Cheers bro....I hope u're not a female too.....teesboy! |
teesboy:The information is so untrue, however I will advise he presents the Admission Letter from the institution with which he got the TRV at the POE, to avoid unnecessary troubles. Because of the difference in DLI #. Once he gets to Canada, he can switch schools and inform the other school he won't be coming again, because he got a better offer elsewhere. It's simple! |
