I just wanna tell peeps that, there are very few jobs out there, if you are jobless and you have access to the intenet, while waiting for jobs, get materials on BOM or FOREX and develop yourself. If you read through career and Jobs sections on NL, you'd be amazed how difficult it is to get a job even with 2:1. A friend of mine who is a very popular guy in Naija now was a FX trader while we were in school. Now, he has a big secondary school in IB. Infact one of the best secondary schools. He has never worked for anybody.

The popular Akin Alabi, the owner of Nairabet used to live in my street in Ibadan. If anyone knows IB well, you would know Alakia. Akin was a drop-out from Poly Ibadan. He was those un-serious dudes in our area then. One day we heard he jetted out of the county and that he went for Ewen Chia's seminar in London. Even the London he went sef, he tried getting the Visa several times before he was eventually lucky. He came back and started Nairabet. Ojelube (his nickname) now celebrates surprise birthdays for his wife, throws party on a ship cruise and a house in Lekki.

I want to end this with two quotes;

Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom , in the grave whither thou goest. Ecclesiastes 9:10

If its meant to be, its up to me - Zig Ziglar.

prince123: My first encounter with bom,,was a seminar I attended in ph and we were introduced to runbet as the subject of the seminar,,,,lookin back to those days now,,I just smile and wonder why som1 could gather pple to teach them runbet,,which we know its pure gambling..no technical or fundamental analysis,, ♒ђåª•ђåª•ђåª ђåª•ђåª•ђåª♒ =))=)) and I don't need to tell you that I blew my acct practising what I learnt,,lol
Simply because he wants to make money. Cant stop laughing. cheesy.

My first expreience with BOM came when a friend who was an internet marketer said he heard about financial fixed odds. He also bought some books and shared them with we. He hammered on runbet but I thought gambling might not be a way of making good money on this thing so I stopped. Later, he came back and told me that BOM gives free money that comes with a bonus code. I used the bonus coded, got approval and started trading. I googled somany material on fixed odd but there was very little available. I eventually gave-up but kept on trading with the $20 bonus code. Within a week, the money decreased to $1(One dollar). So I quit. Oh was also a FOREX junkie but lets not go to that one. Its another story.

After my NYSC, I stayed at home for about 3 months without a job then I remembered BOM and revived my passion for it. I downloaded Japanese Charting Techniques by Steve Nison and since then, God has been faithful. I read and practiced what I read in that book and did a lot of research via google. I watched Bloomberg and became very vast with anything that concerned financial trades. Before I could say Jack Robinson, I started making money. People still don't believe I work for nobody, now.

One story that inspired me then was the story of Warren Buffet, how he started his company from his apartment.

^ I think you are taking things too far. I would be rolling out comprehensive notes on candlesticks this week. Could you continue with your tutorials, too? I believe this would make newbies have a balanced grip of knowledge on market trends and trading techniques.
Think about it.
BusinessRe: Betonmarket Alerts by ayox20003: 8:45am On May 27, 2012
We shouldnt dwell on the past. Ben is doing a great job, so also is Pappy
Okay, I will be posting about candlesticks and how to predict market trends without using indicators, this week. I think its also a good way to start.
I hope Pappy continues with his tutorial. If not, somebody would definitely fill his space.

Always begin anything you do with the end in mind.

Nigerians are very gullible. While the governors are planning on how to feed their bellies come 2015, some people are just too lame to see what is looming. Is that what we should be talking about now-2015? Why all this talk about Buhari?
Havent you said enough?
And is he responsible for the problems facing the country at the moment? Are we not gonna moved on?
OBJ who said do or die sef no get wahala reach this won.
Some politicians are thinking of how to rip you and you're already showing them how ill you are.
Example of people who voted for GEJ and not PDP.

I want to add this: Why cant a governor treat his father in any hospital in his state? Even in his country?
This shows the level of irresponsibility and neglect displayed but our so-called leaders.
It shows the masses are meant to enjoy the rotten standards while their families go for the best standards.
And some suffering nigerians would still hail him BIG.
Nigerians, Wake-up!!!!
PoliticsRe: NUPENG Threatens Strike Over Sacked Lagos Doctors by ayox20003: 2:20pm On May 26, 2012
onatisi: where do u want him to take his father ? lasuth or uch ibadan ?
Then he should cater for the suffering masses too. People are dying and he seems not to care. There are some that require urgent attention as I write this piece but wont get it because they cant go abroad. Are you blaming the Doctors?
The Conmess they are fighting for is the minimum wage that had been approved by the FG for over 2yrs. You need to read the UN DWA (Decent Work Agenda) which Nigeria is also a member. Any amount agreed upon by both both parties must be paid. Fashola agreed but didnt pay. Is that clear enough?
In 2006 Doctors in Germany went on strike for the same reasons. Our Doctors deserve to strike because thats the language theNigerian government understands.
Havent they waited enough? 30 months patience...

Nigerians honestly dont know their rights.
The Doctors that wants to claim their right are been f.ingered. No wonder Nigerians are the biggest problem of this country.

Information my foot!

To get information, you must spend money.

For instance, Nairaland is an informative forum. You need to pay for the internet, buy computer or phone to access the information on NL.
Good schools are places where you can be informed but you MUST pay.

Money first, Information will definitely come if when you need it.
CareerRe: Total Oil And Gas Workers by ayox20003: 2:03pm On May 21, 2012
AjanleKoko: Somebody needs to show this thread to Total HR grin
I think they already know. Take a look at the bolded part.
flexyonline: Just to answer a few questions here abt Nigerian IOCs.

1) It is my personal opinion that connections can get you in maybe 5% of the time. I do not want to say it's impossible which is why I'm going for 5%. Some of the brightest guys you all knew in school (those guys u call Efiko, who were dirt poor then) work for these companies now. When I joined joined about 7 years ago, I had the best engr grads from Ife, Uniport, Uniben in my set. So it is a fallacy in my opinion when we talk about knowing somebody to get in. These companies have the strictest internal checks even for recruitment.

2) A lot of people actually do not know what goes on in IOCs in Nigeria regarding pay and benefits. I'll give a rule of thumb though: if you know anybody that tells you his monthly basic salary is 1 million, know that it is about 55% of his total pay. He still has a lot of benefits some of them bothering on the absurd. For example, you get rent allowance which is more than 2.5 million for entry level where I work, safety allowance (0.5 monthly salary), furniture allowance, generative purchase allowance, generator fueling allowance, car allowance, car fueling allowance, security allowance, children education allowance, 13th month, success sharing, home ownership, end of negotiation pay, car refurbishment, field allowance, shift allowance. They even pay you if your child, spouse or parent dies. All these though are due to the unions. No management loves you that much to want to give all that. If you then factor in your typical yearly increase, you are not doing badly at all. Personally, my basic salary is five times what it was when I joined 6/7 years ago.

3) on NYSC, the company has a policy to absorb whoever NYSC sends to them until the quota is filled up. The advice is, get yourself posted there and report early. I'm not ruling out influence in this also.

4) on stock options, we typically don't do this. It was broached at one point but the opinion amongst employees is that they do not want to transact business with management in that way I.e. give me my money and I'll go do what I want with it.

I also do not agree with the sentiment that spending years abroad in the industry gives you certain competitive advantages when you come home. It is a global industry and the technology is the same so I fail to see the competitive edge. In the instances I've seen, you are benchmarked against employees of similar years of experience and hired on that grade. We do not hire managers from abroad, we promote from within or bring an expatriate to do the job. Note that anybody of Nigerian heritage is not an expatriate by the company definitions even if you have a foreign passport. You come as a Nigerian, simples. Good thing is people don't mind because nairaland payroll is fantastic anyways.

This is all I can think of right now.

P.S. I'm posting with someone else's ID.

albanian4: No I'm in Albania, Europe (near Greece )
why ?
I guess different strokes for different folks. I dont have a precise information about withdrawal requirements over there. But I would suggest that you provide them with your utility bill- that displays your address and your passport. I think Webmoney and Moneybookers should take care of that.
BusinessRe: Betonmarket Alerts by ayox20003: 7:50pm On May 20, 2012
albanian4: I Have read many posts over the internet with negative opinion about BOM... But a piece of them belongs earlier in time like the far away year 2006 , does anything change nowadays (!!)
I have read somewhere they limit the stake if you are a persistent winner, or add an overhead in time of processing the bets and this is not a good thing for short time bet (like 5 minutes).
Do they require additional documents when you ask a withdrawal ? For example scanned documents like passport, electricity bill to verify your personal information or something else ...
Do you stay in Nigeria?
