landg:There you go again. I am only responding to you because I want to correct this erroneous believe that without registry marriage, Muslims cannot apply for and be granted visas (temporary or permanent resident). Therefore, in response to your statement above, I am a Permanent Resident in Canada with my family and if that's what you refer to as temporary, then I agree with you. In order not to digress too much, I stick with my earlier submission that the OP should consult with any ahlu sunnah alfa in his locality for guidance. |
landg:A point of correction. I am married, never did a registry wedding and I don't have a registry marriage certificate but me and my wife have been granted visas to the UK (twice), US (twice) and Canada with a marriage certificate issued by Ansarudeen. @landg, a proper Islamic marriage guarantees a woman more rights than any registry marriage . @Diesel, I would suggest you follow the advice given by brother AbdelKabir. May Allah ease our affairs. |
Alhamdulilahi (Glory be to God) I wish to announce my PPR which came in yesterday 16th June, 2014 at 10:03am US ET. I have done the needful by sending the passports without further delay. I wish all MR,PPR and Passport pickup hopefuls the best as you all await your good news too. My timeline is June 19th, 2014 MR is March 30th, 2015 Thank you to Solomonwis and Damkollins and all other forum members for your support all the way. See y'all in Canada |
henryosas:Please expatiate on this because the DHL guy we spoke to mentioned something like corporate organization but he wasn't sure of what he was saying so we didn't take him serious on that. Do you mean a relative/friend who works in a corporate organization here in the US or in Naija? I will also be in this guy's shoes in about 1month from now as I am awaiting my PPR too as am currently in the US too. Thanks |
pickabeau1:The tone of the message from Accra would not even allow you try other couriers as it is categorically stated in bold in the mail that DHL is preferred. Thanks all the same Canadianwoman:We'll try this option tomorrow and I will feed all you guys back so that others can learn too. If DHL does not do pickup, then we will try the naija option |
Hi all, It's like our super admins are on holiday. Thanks to JesusDway, Meritl and others for stepping in their shoes. Please, I have a friend who just got his PPR yesterday and he has 15days to send the passports to AVO. He is currently in the US studying and the email he got categorically stated that DHL is preferred in sending the passports. He has gone to virtually all the DHL agents and even to the DHL hub in Maryland, US but they told him they don't do return envelope for individuals. 1day is gone in the 15days given to him. Is there anyone who knows how he can manage this situation of sending his passport to Accra. Thanks |
tlamp:Am yet to get any update too. I am still expecting the gurus or anyone who has used the online method to pay for either RPRF or to add additional dependent. Please let me know when you have any updates too. Let's keep our fingers crossed for the gurus to come around |
Blackbuddy:Can I also pay the RPRF using the online link for Express Entry? Am kind of skeptical about the online payment. It would have been the easiest option for me. Gurus in the house, please what's the implication of paying online using the Express Entry instead of the norm of using bank draft or money order? |
DoubleBam2X:Thank you DoubleBam2X, I appreciate |
tlamp:Am in the same shoes as yours but I guess you meant to type "Payment of the Application for Permanent Residence Fee" for your spouse instead of Payment for Permanent Residence Fee for my spouse. I have been asked to pay Application for Permanent Residence Fee for my new baby too. I want to know if I can raise the draft together with the draft for the Payment for Permanent Residence Fee for my me and my spouse or I raise the drafts separately |
Thank you |
Meritl:Take your time o as I am one of the June hopefuls. Wait for your turn now. ![]() Don't worry, it will soon get to your turn and we shall all laugh at the end of the waiting (Amin) |
@ Damkollins, thank you so much as always. I think I will do it your way. I sent you a PM. damkollins: |
Thank you so much as always. You are right, I was not asked to produce an updated statement. I have initiated the process for my baby's passport today, unfortunately, they don't do walk-in at the passport office in the state I reside. I have to make a phone call to schedule an appointment which I have already done. I have also scheduled an appointment for our medicals which will take place next week thursday. solomonwis: |
Alhamdulilahi robil alameen, the long awaited MR arrived this morning @ 8.46am (US Eastern Time) Salutations to my Ogas (Solomonwis and Damkollins) My timeline is as follows: My NOC is 2172 1. June 19, 2014 Submitted my application 2. Oct 16, 2014 Received my PER 3. I notified Accra of my change in residence (now studying and living in US) 4. March 18, 2015 (had a baby but I have not notified Accra as I just started processing her international passport) 5. March 30, 2015 - Received my medical request + request for police clearance from Nigeria which I earlier submitted with my application in June Solomonwis and Damkollins, I need your advice once more. How do I go about this? Should we (myself, wife and son) proceed for our medical and wait for my new baby's passport to arrive so that we can send everything together to Accra. I am planning on submitting an application for the new baby tomorrow and I have been told it will take 2 weeks for expedited processing. Secondly, I have been asked to produce a new PCC even though we submitted one with my application in June 2014. I have the photocopies with me. Should I ignore the request and attach the photocopies I have because I don't know how possible it is to get the PCC from Nigeria as I am currently in US. Thank you |
sevule:Hi Sevule, My NOC is 2172 too and my timeline is as follows: 1. June 19, 2014 Submitted my application 2. Oct 16, 2014 Received my PER 3. Visa office is Accra, although I had to change my address to US because am studying in US now but my visa office remains Accra. I wish you best of luck as I await mine too |
damkollins:I missed you the most. I can't wait to hear that beautiful landing story. I am licking my mouth already for that story. AM happy for you. We are coming behind you. I am awaiting my MR. |
A friend of mine who is a June 2nd, 2014 applicant got his MR yesterday 11/2/2014. So June hopefuls should get set including myself. Congrats to those who recently received PER and MR |
bigfrancis21:You are on point with the above comment. It has happened to me severally. Once they know you are not AKATA, they become more friendly. I better keep my accent |
henmaris:Henmaris, You finally overtook us with your Ferrari. Goodluck. See you in Canny. We are patiently behind you with our AVO beetle. lol Congratulations |
henmaris:Take a chill pill Henmaris, am an October 16, 2014 hopeful and yet to receive MR. Abi you wan overtake us? ![]() |
damkollins:Thanks so much. I was worried when a friend of mine who did the same thing sometimes ago told me his online account was updated the same day they corresponded with him. I checked again today and it's been updated. Thank you. |
DoubleBam2X:You can track through the link below: https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/security.do?lang=en&_ga=1.96697113.785963451.1419149120 There is no hyphen in my own UCI, it's just a straight 8-digits no. Try the above link to track |
@ Solowis & Damkollins, My address has not been updated on the online tracking page even though Accra has acknowledged my change of address and they said my address has been changed accordingly. How long does it take for the address to change from the old to the new? Thanks |
solomonwis:Thank you solomonwis. I have been cracking my head and thinking of how to go to Nigeria for a new PCC if it gets to that stage. You are a life saver. |
@ Solomonwis and Damkollins, I filled a CSE form that my address and visa office be changed as a result of my new status (F1 status in US) but I got the mail below as a response from ACCRA. Dear Madam / Sir, This is in response to your email (see below). Under Canada ’s Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and Regulations, file transfers are carried out only for reasons of program integrity and not at the request of the applicant or at their designated representative. Visa offices are not required to transfer applications for permanent or temporary entry to Canada . Visa applications are to be reviewed by officers with the local knowledge and expertise necessary to conduct an effective case review. We have examined your request for a transfer of your file and determined your application will be more effectively assessed by keeping your file in ACCRA. If you do not wish to continue processing your application in ACCRA you may withdraw your application. You must then send a written and signed withdrawal request to this office. If you have paid the Right of Permanent Residence fee, it would be refunded. If you chose to withdraw your application and re-apply in OTTAWA you must submit new application fees and your file will go to the end of the processing queue. For a list of countries and corresponding Canadian visa offices, go to: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/missions.asp . At this time your file will continue to be processed in this office. Please be advised that your address has been updated accordingly. Regards, My question is what if Accra requires me to send in a new PCC? How will I do that as I am now here in the US Thank you |
sevule:My professional colleague. That's my NOC too. I got my PER since October, awaiting MR. See you in Canny |
damkollins:I recently raised a CSE to Accra (precisely 23rd December, 2014) to inform them about my change of address and status as I am now in the US on study visa. I hope my earlier CSE will not conflict with the new one you advised me to raise? Thank you. |
@ Solowis & Damkollins, In the Schedule A form, Section 6(d) where they asked if one has been refused refugee status, visitor or temporary resident visa to Canada or any other country. I mistakenly answered NO when in actual fact, I was refused a UK visiting visa in 2010. Although, I was later issued 6 months and 2 years UK visiting visas which I have used twice. I didn't cool down to read the question well when I was filling the form, it was a friend that pointed it out to me recently. Now, I have been issued PER and am awaiting MR, do I need to send an updated form indicating the error I made or I should just let it slide. Thanks Solowis, it's good to see you active again. |
Hotstepper:She has to retake the entire exam because at least 6.0 is required in all the four components. Sorry about that |
ferdimako:Once you change your base legally, you can notify AVO of change of address and also change of VO |
technolee:Ofcourse I know we are in the same shoes. Please carry me along o |
