I have not visited this thread since ramadan started. Atlast, am here again. I just finished reading from page 60 to 71 just to update myself and i can tell you, i have really enjoyed it. I cant post anything now until tomorow.

I didnt finish with a 1st class or even a 2-1, i finished with a 2-2 (3.49/5.00). Did i hear u shout WAOW but ofcourse my classmates can testify that am brilliant.

Why do we always attribute everything to God? when God himself said he will provide for those that believe in him & those that don't. So, graduating with a 1st class has nothing to do with the level of your faith.

The key to finishing with a 1st class is DILIGENCE, TIME MANAGEMENT & CONSISTENCY. I had a 4.85/5.00 semester G.P. when i was in Yr 3, 2nd Semester (which was the best SGPA in that semester, better than the other 2 chaps that graduated with 1st class).

Ques: What did i do right?
Ans: I was diligent & I managed my time well and still had time to socialize but i could not repeat the feat again because i was not consistent.

If u are brilliant and can consistently manage your time, then u can graduate with a 1st class.

If what Pitondenz is anything to go by, then the receiver is useless because after reading pitondenz post where he said any strong receiver that does not have the BOOKLET that shows the channels that we can get in nigeria is a Fake. My own does not have the booklet. But the one i bought now SRT 4651x came with the booklet which means i bought original this time around

are u resident in abuja cos u seem to know much. i know neighborhood center but i never knew they do stuffs like that there. I think i will give it a trial. And if at the end of the day, it still doesnt come up, then PITONDENZ theory is right that its a FAKE.

I was told RDV will show manchester united's match but as at 3.50pm they have still not entered the studio, i had to run to my neighbor that has HITV to watch the match. I later discovered that they showed the match.

Some1 should please confirm to us if the ART keys are still working. I think they are not working again.\

I have tried STB-STB but it didnt work. My installer told me i need to get the same model of SRT 4653x (070) as my own b4 i can do STB-STB.
It still brings light. When i switch it on, it will display the four dotted lines and goes off almost immediately thats wat it does. where are u located? am in abuja.

Some1 should answer toxnaija's question about the station(s) that shows olympics apart from NTA/AIT. I know dubai sports 3 shows it but there commentary is in arabic

I want you all guys to take note of the size of the patches you download b4 running them on your receivers because i just spoilt my SRT 4653x Strong receiver with the latest patch. I thought i downloaded it completely not knowing that it was not completed. It was suppose to be 1.2MB but unknowingly i did not complete the download b4 ruuning it on my receiver. Now my receiver has stopped working.

So guys, check the size of the patch b4 running. All efforts by Pitondez and badaru1 to resuscitate it on fone proved abortive.

Learn from my mistake. Premiership starts in 2 days time, what a time for my receiver to stop working.

The premiership is about to start and nobody is saying anything about which channels to watch out for.

Badaru1 told us on this forum that AL-Jazeera now has the premiership right in the middle east, will GTV and RDV still be showing it?

Please, somebody should respond because some of us cant wait for the premiership to start and as a matter of fact i subscribed to this FTA because of PREMIERSHIP.

Thank you for bringing up this thread. Pls, i need clarification on some issues regarding fishing. is there any possiblity of surfing the web with this DVB - S card apart from offline downloading?

And since one has limited control of what can be downloaded, it is imperative for one to have a very good antivirus cos i know a lot of viruses and trojans will follow the downloads.

Pls, EURO 2008 is going on and i cant see to be able to watch it on any of our FTA channels. I have 3 sats, NILESAT 101, EUTELSAT W3A and NSS 7 KU and no channel on any of these 3 Birds are showing the euro. Pls, some1 shud confirm to us if there is any station showing it.

What i mean by 'Frying' is that wen i switch on my receiver it will only show four dotted lines on the screen of the receiver and goes off almost immediately. Then, if i switch off and on again, it repeats the same thing.

I have discovered wat caused the breakdown. The patch i downloaded did not download complete. The size of the patch is 1.2MB but i only downloaded 124KB of it. I guess that was wat caused the breakdown.

I have been advised by Badaru1 and Pitodenz to download a Strong loader. That is wat am about to do now.

Pls, I need u guys help. I just got my SRT 4653x receiver fried after installing the latest patch.

After loading the latest patch from a flash drive via the USB port of my receiver, it counted from 1% - 100% and after that it restarted and neva came up. Guys, pls, hw can i get it working. Money no dey now to bye another receiver and EURO 2008 is fast approaching.

I think u are right. Many of us dont know the difference between Softcam Keys and Patches. I think Enigma, Enitan, Bodejohn show please throw more light on this. Questions like dis should be answered

a.)  Does latest patch open up some channels?

b.)  Do we still need Softcam Keys after patching.

I think answering this questions would clarify a lot things.

Thanks for the enlightenment. I have heard that if one downloads patches from untrusted sites, it could cause irrepairable damage to the receiver and dats y i want u to give me the one from a trusted site. My receiver model is STRONG SRT 4653x. Thank you very much.

Enitan i also thank u for the clarification. U are right that i have Nilesat (7w) and NSS7 (22w) on the 1.8m dish and eutelsat on the 90cm dish.

I think i will go for the software patch cos i want to be able to hook up to Showtime and canalsat whenever there are public keys for them.

I am glad to be a member of this forum and i must confess that learning FTA from this thread is the best thing that has happened to me in recent time.

Kudos to guruofsat, pitodenz, jujukemist and most especially[b] Enigma[/b] for spending time on this tread to educate pple like us. Pls, keep it up.

I just installed the FTA satellites last week saturday with the help of a tech. guy here in Abuja but out of curiousity i came online to see if i can get some codes to unlock some coded channels in my STRONG SRT 4653x decoder and BINGO!!!, the best site GOOGLE could direct me to is www.nairaland.com.

I have been a member for almost 2 years now but i have never contributed to any of the threads.

Enigma, thank u once again for being the most consistent person on this thread. I have read this thread from page 1 to page 30 and i must confess to you that u guys have really done a great job but i have some questions for u which i will be very happy if u respond to them.

I have two dishes, 1 1.8m dish with 2 LNBFs and 1 90cm dish with 1 LNBF and my technical guy told me am connected to these satellites a. eutelsat,nilesat and ghana TV which enables me to get 0ver 300 free channels and some coded channels. I have all the DSTV and HITV channels with dollar sign before them (coded), showcinema 1,2,3,4, showshasha,showcomedy,JSC sports 3, all coded with dollar sign before them & a host of free channels raning from MBC Action, 1,2,3,4, NBA europe, GTV, RDV, STV1,STV2, Aljazeera news, BBC World, Fox News, FOX Movies,JSC sports 1&2, Trendsports, Trendseries, Nollywood, Dubai ONe, (all these are free) to mention but few.  Now, my question are:

1. I have read about Firmware, Software, Softcam and Patches, please give me a link to the one that will work with my STRONG SRT 4653x decoder so as not to FRY my decoder as some people have warned.

2. How will i update my receiver with the Patch/Firmware/Software by the time i download it. My receiver has a USB slot. Please, i need a step-by-step Guideline on how to update the firmare.

3. And finally, after updating the Receiver, as i have read in this post that it will AutoUpdate and i will be able to view some channels that have been hacked like SHOWTIME and ART and if not, how will i go about using the codes i already have to unlock those channels.
