ferdimako:Congratulations to Technolee and Damkollins. We are following you behind Damkollins, please, my status will change next month and I would be required to change my visa office from Accra to Ottawa. I would be resident in the US as a student as from next month. Should I notify the CIO immediately I entered US about my change of status or I should wait till school resumes in January. I don't want a situation where my application would have been sent to AVO before I notify them. I received my PER October 9th, 2014. Thank you |
vajayi:You have not told us why you didn't pay your sevis? Is it that you don't know about SEVIS fee payment or what? When I went for my B1/B2 interview in January 2014 (Abuja), a student was asked about his SEVIS fee receipt but he couldn't produce it and it seemed the student didn't even know how to go about it cos I could hear the VO telling him how to go about the payment afterwhich she told the boy to come back for his visa after paying his SEVIS fee. So, I think you were not refused because of non-payment of SEVIS. 2ndly, I know someone who attended the interview with his 5months old pregnant wife and the VO didn't ask her if she was pregnant. Again, I don't think u were refused based on the pregnancy question. We think this VOs are super-humans but they are not. I don't think the VO could have noticed that you are pregnant. My advice, pay your SEVIS fee, re-apply and when you are asked if you are pregnant, it's better you say yes and defend yourself. |
dotman2460:Leaving Abuja 10:20pm to arrive Dubai 5:50am, then we will leave Dubai 8:30am for JFK. What's your Itinerary like? Am leaving with wife and son. Let's hook up |
dotman2460:Am for 10th December too from Abuja (Emirates) |
fuzzyt:Am happy for you. Congrats. Why do you need to submit UK Police certificate? Did you reside there for more than 6 months in the last 10 years? |
ferdimako:Baba, could you please interpret this information I found on cic website. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/mi/#mi13 excerpts from the above link Ministerial Instructions 13 (MI13): Processing of new and existing applications for temporary residence and permanent residence Ministerial Instructions have been issued in order to assist in the prevention of the transmission and spread of the Ebola outbreak. Effective October 31, 2014, CIC will not process any new permanent resident or temporary resident applications and will stop processing existing temporary resident applications for which a final decision has not been made if the applicant has recently been in an Ebola-affected country. For pending permanent resident applications, visas will not be issued unless the officer is satisfied the applicant has not been in an Ebola-affected country within the three months prior to finalization. These measures are temporary to protect the health and safety of Canadians, and until further notice. |
technolee:No mind me o. We are in the same shoes jare. I am waiting for chop my Canny PR too and I just chop my F1 Visa. See you in Canny (2016) |
Morris:To God be the glory. Let's go to North Carolina and set new academic records there. AGGIE PRIDE!!! See you in NC |
ferdimako:I wonder o. Technolee don chop F1 and he is still eyeing Canny PR. lol |
Congrats. Just like my own interview. We happen to have the same profile. Where are you headed? dotman2460: |
tayoamos:I don't know if am allowed to respond to your question. I had the same circumstance as you and I had to reapply for F1 visa with my wife and son. We got our F1 and F2 visas. I think it's better for you to reapply as change of status is not as easy as some people portray it to be. The in-house VO can shed more light. |
ferdimako:I guess so too plus she was wowed with the Bank of America statement I presently along with my GT statement. My wife and son have F2. Goodluck with your PhD application too |
. |
ferdimako:Chei, Ferdimako. You be SSS? I couldn't stop laughing after reading your post. So you dey follow me. Wetin man go do? Na anyone that comes 1st o. Canny PR or Yankee Greencard. lol |
profojah:Which school are you going to? |
profojah:I don't understand your question clearly. But let me try to answer you the way I understand it. Cyber Security is one of the concentrations in Information Technology and some of the courses taught under it are Threat Detection, User Privacy, Cryptography, Proactive Defense et al. If you specialize in Cyber Security, you will be well grounded to tackle Cyber Crime and Cyber Crime is a form of high technology crime |
mattkelly:Masters |
Dot1:If it's Abuja, it takes 2 days. Mine will be ready for pickup on friday |
Alhamdulilahi robil alameen. All praises and thanks be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. Let me start by thanking all the gurus in the house, Morris, Aanowai, Bigfrancis & Idawz et al. I can't thank you all enough. Visa approved today 22nd October, 2014 Time: 7.30am - Abuja - Window 9 (Although we didn't enter the embassy until some minutes to 10am because I forget my bank statement) My transcript is as follows: VO: Good morning (with a lovely smile) Me & Wife: Good morning (My 15 months old son too struggled to say something) VO: Pass me your documents Me: I did (she started typing and she continued typing for like 2 mins) VO: Where is your school? Me: North Carolina VO: Why did you choose the school? Me: Of all the schools I visited when I was on holiday in the US, North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University has the best infrastructure and research facilities and the only one that offers my 1st choice concentration which is Cyber Security. VO: Who is your sponsor? Me: Myself VO: Can I see your statement? Me: I handed out my statements of account VO: She looked at the statement carefully, flipping the pages and looking at the transaction history (she did this for like 2 mins) VO: (She asked my wife to do fingerprint and I followed) VO: Your visa has been approved (She said so many other things after that, like when we can enter the US, the documents to present at the port of entry but I wasn't listening because I was already overjoyed) I pray for those going for their visa interviews to meet God's favour. I am really overjoyed now She didn't ask for GRE, IELTS/TOEFL, Transcript or any other document for that matter apart from my bank statement. It's not by might but by prayer. |
Hi all, I booked an appointment for myself (F1), spouse (F2) and child (F2) but due to an inevitable occurrence, my spouse and child won't attend the interview with me again. Please, is it possible to reschedule my spouse and child without affecting my own appointment as the principal applicant? Thank you |
gfn:Are you the one that got into university through DE? If yes, immediately WES gets your university transcript, it will be indicated that you had exemption for year 1. As a result of that exemption, WES would want to see the transcript from the institution with which you got that exemption. In your own case, I guess it's OND you used for the exemption. So you will need to go to the institution where you did your OND and request that your transcript be sent to WES. WES will not charge an additional cost for the evaluation of the 2nd transcript. |
yomifowe:My application was received 19th June, 2014. Thank you Damkollins, congratulations. See you in Canny |
@Slimmy, Please how long does it take for ETS to upload GRE result. Today makes it exactly 2 weeks I wrote my GRE and it has not yet been uploaded into my online account. Am getting worried o |
Alhamdulilahi. I just received my PER today. Exactly 1 week after my card was charged. Damkollins & Solomonwis, I saw on CIC website that it takes approximately 31 months for ACCRA to process application after they receive a complete application package. Is it true? |
gfn:YES! you have to get your OND transcript too. I know a friend that entered university via direct entry too and WES told him to get his OND transcript. He had to travel to Offa to get his OND transcript sent to WES which made the evaluation longer. But hey, you have no choice than to go to the Polytechnic where that OND was obtained. The good thing is that you will be evaluated as having 3 year post secondary + another I year again which will increase your total points under Educational Qualification by 1. Best of luck |
sidraah11:Please what date did you book in Abuja? |
zeelo2014:My application was sent June 12th, 2014 but I couldn't track the delivery so I guess the package was delivered around 19th-20th June,2014. Check your spam mail. A friend of mine found his PER in his SPAM mails. Congrats bro. See you in canny |
@Solomonwis and damkollins, I give thanks to Almighty God whose has made it possible for my application to be ACCEPTED. Application sent 12th June, 2014 My Debit Card got charged : 9th October, 2014 NOC: 2172 (Database analysts and data administrators) Solomonwis and Damkollins, may God answer your prayers too. You guys are the BOMB. I pray that those are still expectant get good news too (Amin) |
aanowai:I thought my school was slow in processing, yours is super-slow. Teddyrain already has his I-20. Like I said don't allow them rest until you hear a good response. Dates are getting filled by the hour. |
teddyrain:Am heading to North Carolina bro. And you? |
aanowai, Yes o. I just gentle o patiently waiting for my I-20 to arrive. It's on its way to Nigeria as I write. I am hoping to receive it before ending of October they used USPS. Don't allow the ISSO office rest o until they confirm that your I-20 has been mailed. That was how I missed out in Fall 2014. My concern now is the rate at which appointment dates are getting filled up. aanowai: |
