Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri: The Prophet said to his companions, "Is it difficult for any of you to recite one third of the Qur'an in one night?" This suggestion was difficult for them so they said, "Who among us has the power to do so, O Allah's Apostle?" Allah Apostle replied: " 'Allah (the) One, the Self-Sufficient Master Whom all creatures need.' (Surat Al-Ikhlas 112.1--to the End) is equal to one third of the Qur'an." [Bukhari: Volume 6, Book 61, Number 534] |
"Patience means to keep close to Allah & to accept calmly the trials He sends, without complaining or feeling sad." [Amr ibn Uthman al-Makki] |
It is for Allah the Almighty to decide if a person will go to Heaven of Hell. We speculating about a persons intentions or fate is meaningless, Allah is the ultimate Judge, His Mercy precedes over his Wrath. Only Allah knows what a persons true intention is, So Allah alone knows our fate. May Allah the Most Merciful, Forgive us All. Ameen. |
Narrated Abu Huraira (Radi-Allahu 'anhu): The Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, "The one who looks after a widow or a poor person is like a Mujahid (warrior) who fights for Allah's Cause, or like him who performs prayers all the night and fasts all the day." [Bukhari Vol 7 No 265] |

“A good deed brings light to the heart, illumination to the face, strength to the body, increasing of livelihood & love in the hearts of people. On the contrary, an evil deed causes darkness to the heart, dark shadows to the face, weakness in the body, lack of livelihood and antipathy in people’s hearts." [ Ibn Abbas ] |
Rasulullah (SAW) said, “He who does not show mercy to our young or show esteem for our elders is not one of us.” (Al-Bukhari) |
It was Abu Bakr ad-Daqqaq (may Allah bestow His mercy upon him) who said: "The shortcoming of everyone who tries to be sincere [mukhlis] in his sincere devotion, is the tendency to admire his sincere devotion [ikhlas]. If Allah (Exalted is He) wishes to purify his sincere devotion [an yukhallisa ikhlasa-hu], He will therefore rid his sincerity of that tendency to admire his sincere devotion, so he will then be a mukhallas [one who has been made sincere through purification], rather than a mukhlis [one who tries to be sincere]." |
Narrated Abu Huraira (Radi Allah Anhu): One day while the Prophet (sal-allahu-alleihi-wasallam) was sitting in the company of some people, (The angel) Gabriel came and asked: "What is faith?" Allah's Apostle (sal-allahu-alleihi-wasallam) replied, 'Faith is to believe in Allah, His angels, (the) meeting with Him, His Apostles, and to believe in Resurrection." Then he further asked, "What is Islam?" Allah's Apostle (sal-allahu-alleihi-wasallam) replied, "To worship Allah Alone and none else, to offer prayers perfectly to pay the compulsory charity (Zakat) and to observe fasts during the month of Ramadan." Then he further asked, "What is Ihsan (perfection)?" Allah's Apostle (sal-allahu-alleihi-wasallam) replied, "To worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you cannot achieve this state of devotion then you must consider that He is looking at you." Then he further asked, "When will the Hour be established?" Allah's Apostle (sal-allahu-alleihi-wasallam) replied, "The answerer has no better knowledge than the questioner. But I will inform you about its portents. When a slave (lady) gives birth to her master. When the shepherds of black camels start boasting and competing with others in the construction of higher buildings. And the Hour is one of five things which nobody knows except Allah. " The Prophet then recited: "Verily, with Allah (Alone) is the knowledge of the Hour--." (31. 34) Then that man (Gabriel) left and the Prophet (sal-allahu-alleihi-wasallam) asked his companions to call him back, but they could not see him. Then the Prophet (sal-allahu-alleihi-wasallam) said, "That was Gabriel who came to teach the people their religion." Abu 'Abdullah said: He (the Prophet) considered all that as a part of faith. [Sahih Al-Bukhari : Volume 1, Book 2, Number 47] |
''When evening comes, do not expect (to live till) morning, and when morning comes, do not expect (to live till) evening. Take from your health (a preparation) for your illness, and from your life for your death'' - Ibn Umar |

“Whoever wants to have everlasting peace and well-being with no affliction does not understand the meaning of Allah’s commandments, nor does he perceive the meaning of submission to Allah. Every soul (either believing or disbelieving) shall inevitably taste suffering in this world, for this life is based on hardships. Man lives between comfort and suffering.” [Imam Ibn al-Jawzi] |

“The planning of The Almighty (Allaah) is better for you than your own planning, and He could deprive you from what you ask to test your patience. So let Him see from you a determined patience and you will soon see from Him what will give you joy. And when you have cleaned the paths of answering (of supplication) from the stains of sin [i.e have repented] and were patient about what He has chosen for you, then everything that happens to you is better for you whether you were given or deprived of what you have requested.” [Imaam ibn Al-Jawzee] |

"Certain faith (yaqeen) is that you do not make the people happy by angering Allah & that you do not envy anyone for that which Allah has provided & that you do not blame anyone for something which Allah has not given you,. ". . .He who acts without knowledge causes more corruption than good, and he who does not consider his speech to be part of his actions sins repeatedly. Satisfaction is scarce, and the true believer should rely on patience. Allah never bestowed a blessing upon one of His servants and then took it away from him, giving him patience in return for that which was taken away, except that the replacement was better than what was taken away from him.” Then he recited the following verse: “Surely the patient will be paid their wages in full without reckoning.” [39:10] |
