hymen:Well you are drawing preset conclusions of things i never said. I can see where this is goin. hymen:And they are the ones who are successful in the life hereafter. "And verily this Ummah of yours IS A SINGLE UMMAH and I am your Lord and Cherisher: Therefore Fear Me (and no other)." (Al Quran 23:52) "HasbunAllahu wa ni'amal wakeel.(Al Quran 3:173) [Allah (Alone) is Sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of affairs (for us).]'' THE END. |
"The muminun(true believers) are those whose hearts tremble when Allah is mentioned, whose Iman(faith) is increased when His Signs are recited to them, and who put their trust in their Lord; those who establish salat and give of what We have provided for them. They are in truth the muminun." (Surat al-Anfal: 2) |
Narrated by Abu Darda: Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) said: "A Parent is the best of the gates of Paradise; so if you wish, keep to the gate, or lose it." [Tirmidhi Hadith 4928] |
''Oh son of Adam, sell this World for the hereafter and you win both, sell the hereafter for this World and you lose both." [ Hassan Basree ] |
macomrades:JazakAllahu Khairan. A good thread indeed. |
@alimat & uplawal Both of you are right, so why the argument!!?? AuzhuBillahi-Minashaitanir-rajeem. I seek refuge in Allah from the Cursed Shaitan. Yes uplawal is right, 'Auzhubillah' is a Part of Quran, it itself is a supplication to Allah. Yes alimat is right, while we supplicate we should be sincere to Allah and accept the fact without his guidance we are misguided. So Nothing to even discuss : ) See, sisters this misunderstanding is clearly the work of Shaytan. So Lets seek refuge in Allah. AuzhuBillahi-Minashaitanir-rajeem. Also on another note, there is also another supplication taught by our beloved Prophet (SAW), when shaytan tries to put doubt in our belief in Allah say: 'Amantu billahi wa rasulihi ' [I believed in Allah, the Almighty, and His Messenger, peace be upon him] InshAllah it will come in handy for all of us. Please study it. Its a small one. : ) Salaam everyone. |
@hymen When there is fighting between Muslims, we don't take sides. Its for Allah to decide who is on the right path. |
Lagosboy:Well said. |
Well if anyone of your brother/sister is in a foreign country and he/she is under attack will you say 'its none of my business, its happening in a foreign country'. ? All Muslims are brothers and sisters. We belong to Islam first, only then to our nations. It is reported that, the Prophet (S.A.W) said: "The Muslims in their mutual love, kindness and compassion, are like the human body when one of its parts is in agony the entire body feels the pain both in sleeplessness and fever." (Bukhari and Muslim) P.s. If everyone can condemn 9/11 publicly. Then the massacre and oppression happening in Palestine can be condemned too, actually the causalities are more in Palestine. Both are inhumane acts. I ll say no more. |
uplawal:Something that is very very important. No amount of stressing this point will suffice. Different words we chose to say the same thing have very different effects. Choosing words carefully is an integral part of Good manners and Good manners is an integral part of Islam. I realized this very recently. uplawal:Ameen. |
"A calamity that brings you closer to Allah is better than the blessing that makes you forget Allah." [ IBN TAYYIMAH] |
On the Day of Judgement, an unopened book will be brought forward and placed before Allah. Allah will say: "Throw it (into the Fire)!" The Angels would ask: "By Your Might! We only see good (in it)." Allah would reply: "This (i.e. the good deeds that you see in it) were not done for My sake. Any deed that is not done for My sake, I do not accept." (al-Bazzar) |
alimat 2:I am from India. |
alimat 2:Hmmm, Sorry I dont understand your language. I m not from Nigeria. : ) |
@alimat2 Please download and check out the pdf book i have posted above. It is a highly recommended book. |
@ify I advice you to read the english translation of 'Reliance of the Traveler'. It was written by AHMAD IBN NAQIB AL-MISRI (Died 1368 AD) and Translated by Sheik Nuh Ha Mim Keller. It is completely based on Quran and Hadith. Its basically Shafi'i school of thought so there will be slight variations in sunna in prayer, hajj etc. from Hanafi school of thought. Overall its a very reliable book which deals with Fiqh of All aspects of Life. Here is the link to the pdf: http://www.filefactory.com/file/ca6de2b/n/Reliance_of_the_Traveller.pdf |
@lagosboy I was correcting the sentence when i read my post again, but you came up with a reply sooner. I never said eating from a christian or jew is haram. |
@ify Its ok to eat from a christians or jews house as long as the 'meat' is NOT slaughtered in the name of Idols or for other gods (in my area almost all slaughter house are run by muslims, so no worries). I think you misunderstood our posts as we should not eat at all, no its not like that, its the 'meat' thats the issue. In case you ve doubts about the 'meat' there is a simple solution, be a vegetarian for a few hours. ; ) Avoid meat stuff. |
zayhal:Loooool!!! me neither, ! |
"A man will be tested according to the level of his religious commitment, and the trials will keep affecting a slave of God until he is left walking on the face of the earth with no burden of sin whatsoever." (Ibn Majah) |
A woman is a flower vase of beauty and fragrance, so smell her gently, do not wrestle with her . [Ali Ibn Abi Thalib R.A] |
mybad:Be patient, Trust in Allah and make Dua often, for Allah is the most Merciful. InshAllah you will get a good spouse. |
uplawal:Yes I understand that. I just think 'humble' would be a more fitting word. : ) |
I would rather use the word 'Humble'. I am humbled by the truth of Islam that there is no God But Allah and Muhammad(saw) is his Messenger. I am humbled by the fact that only reason I am a Muslim is due to Allah's Guidance alone. I am humbled by the fact that if it was not for Allah's Mercy I would be destroyed in a single moment because of my sins. May Allah make all of us of the humblest of slaves. Ameen. |
ifyalways:That is the view of Islam too ![]() May Allah include all of us in the category of true believers who forgive even when angry. Ameen. A very very good Lecture about Justice vs Forgiveness in English. Highly recommended. [flash=500,400] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhcgJx3sMU8?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0[/flash] |
For starters: Islam has allowed punishing bad deeds, but it is preferred that one forgives and it has big rewards. “The reward of the evil is the evil thereof, but whosoever forgives and makes amends, his reward is upon Allah.” (Quran, al-Shura 42: 40) In the Qur’an Allah has described the Believers as “those who avoid major sins and acts of indecencies and when they are angry they forgive.” (ash-Shura 42: 37) You should notice that its not just forgiving, but rather forgiving while one is angry. To forgive when one is calm is easy, but Allah says to forgive while one is angry. So you you can imagine the amount of patience and restrain that is expected from us. From Hadith: Jarir reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Allah will not show mercy to a person who does not show mercy to other people." InshAllah Lagosboy will be able to give a more descriptive reply. |
Allah (swt) has said in the Quran: Forbidden to you is that which dies of itself, and blood, and flesh of swine, and that on which any other name than that of Allah has been invoked, and the strangled (animal) and that beaten to death, and that killed by a fall and that killed by being smitten with the horn, and that which wild beasts have eaten, except what you slaughter, and what is sacrificed on stones set up (for idols) and that you divide by the arrows; that is a transgression. This day have those who disbelieve despaired of your religion, so FEAR THEM NOT, and FEAR ME. This day have I perfected for you your religion and completed My favor on you and chosen for you Islam as a religion; but whoever is compelled by hunger, not inclining willfully to sin, then surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. (Surat al-Maaida, 5:3) Allahu Akbar! (Allah is the greatest). May Allah have mercy on all of us and guide us in the right path. Ameen. |
Al-Murrudi’ reported that he asked Imam Ahmed: “How are you today?” He replied:‘How can I be while I am required by my Lord to perform obligatory acts of worship,by my Prophet (‘alayhi salaat wa salaam) to practice his Sunnah,by the two angels to improve my deeds, and my soul urges me to follow it,Shaytaan pushes me to commit evil deeds, the Angel of death is waiting to take my life, and my children are asking me to provide for them?’” [Siyaar a'laam an Nubalaa 11/227] |
Sayyidina ‘Abdullah ibn Umar (RA) reported that Allah’s Messenger (SAW) said, “If anyone drinks wine then his salah over forty days are not approved. If he repents then Allah will relent to him. If he reverts (to it), then Allah will not approve his salah over forty days. If he repents, Allah will relent to him but if he reverts (to it) then Allah will not approve his salah over forty days. If he repents then Allah will relent to him. Again, if he reverts the fourth time, Allah will not approve his salah over forty days and if he repents then Allah will not relent to him and He will give him to drink from the river of Khabal.” Someone asked, “0 Abu Abdur Rahman! what is the river of Khabal?’ He said, “The pus of the dwellers of the people of fire.” [Nisai 5686] |
Ibn al-Mubarak said, “Perhaps a great deed is belittled by an intention. And perhaps a small deed, by a sincere intention, is made great. “ |
It is narrated that, The Prophet (saw) said: "Iblees (ie shaytan) said (to Allah): 'By Your glory, I will not stop tempting Your slaves so long as their souls remain in their bodies.' (Allah) said: 'By My Glory and Majesty, I will continue to forgive them so long as they ask Me for forgiveness.'" (Ahmad) |
Abu`d Darda – ” The complete form of taqwa is to fear Allaah so much that one begins to fear Him from the potential sin in a mustard seed and until one leaves what might be halaal in the fear that it could be haraam.” |
