Politics › Re: Few Pics From Imo State by B2mario(m): 12:01am On Dec 14, 2014 |
millionaireman: Imo state - from Okigwe to Ahiazu to Akokwa to Oguta to Orlu to Owerri - all to develop on the same pace: this was the objective in 1976 when Imo state was created.
But corruption made early military governors to concentrate development on the state capital. Even some state governors in modern times have sunk more than 90% of the state's capital development funds on development in Owerri.
The trend continued and some Imolites have come to believe that development in a state is mainly for the state capital.
Such Imolites make this thread boring as they fill up pages with pictures and events of Owerri; they mistake Imo state for Owerri. Onyeashi ebulukwela bia, this history you narrated here is incomplete if you fail to integrat Aba, Umuahia, Afikpo and Ohaofia. Do you mean New imo state or the Old Imo state that was created in 1976? |

emmysoftyou: broda,i know owerri and have the map of otown in my head, owerri is a beautiful place, right from the time when the late sam mbakwe, the crying governor was the governor of imo state,he cried to seek more fund frm president shagari,in other to utilized and revitalized the aesthetic nature of imo and abia state as at then.. cos the civil war really affected some places in the east.. The only thing we want frm rochas is to completes all the uncompleted tarred road nd fly over and enable an environment for employment opportunities for indigenes nd non indigenes of the state.
The population of owerri is increasing every blessed day. And very soon, investors will start to troop in,due to population density of the state. A lot of works need to be done in oguta, okigwe nd orlu and not just owerri alone, all place in imo state need to be aesthetically beautiful... rochas need to do more home works on how foreigners can troop in.....
i foresee owerri as a hottest place in a nearest future, where people of different tribes will love to be..
imo is in the hands of God.. I see truth in what you said, you laid a constructive criticism. Though Rochas has done well but i still expect more from him. As an exposed gov who claimed to have gone far, i think he should open up imo not just giving free education and building roads but upgrade the commerce and industrial potential of the state. He can use his influence and attract more industries to the state as did by Dee Sam. I think Orlu, Okigwe and Oguta have some pretty potentials that are wasting, Oguta need a seaport which he can borrow to work on or call on the attention of the federal govt, Orlu needs a well laid industrial layout which will give it a real commercial status, the tourist potential of Okigwe has to be revitalized, the city has many tourist attraction. This is why i wished Rochas to go for 2nd tenure so that he can work more in imo since he has the zeal. I love the man but he has some lapses just like every other man. |

A developing area in the Govt layout. Infact, Ochendo tried for Umuahia.
And i hope the next gov possibly Okezie ikpeazu from Obingwa will work for Aba zone.
It was Orji Uzor kalu that planned and built this Govt layout but Ochendo complimented with more Govt own structures and roads.
I tried to snap the new Govt House under construction but i was restricted. Next time i will try again, i like the finishing of the structures and the premises are very beautiful.

OdenigboAroli: Insecurity is inborn. I will advice you to focuse in showcasing your state and leave Anambra out of your silly comments. Go through Anambra thread and you will never see where I mentioned Abia. Why? Because I dont feel threatened by your cup size development. Keep to topic because you dont measure up should we make comparisons. what do you mean by insecurity Mr. Man? Pls stop using this word because i know you have no match to me. Just mind yourself not when i react now you say that we other igbos hate Anambra. You are sunk in an aqua of inferiority complex that is why you can't be open to defend yourself or say what you want. You are a frustrated man, i hate you personally not Anambra. |

OdenigboAroli: Keep embarrassing and disgracing yourself. For your information, there are two Odenigbo here....I am the original Odenigbo Aroli from Umuoji Igwulube Okodu Anambra, while the other guy is the new one from Abia state. It sucks to be you...ndo! keep on deceiving yourself, you think i don't know your grammar. If the guy is not you and truly from Ohuhu, then ask him where the new IBB estate is located. |
