hmmmm, we are watching. 2015 is just a year and some months now. |
each time i try to avoid commenting on the same thread as Rochas' sycophants i suddenly see some encouraging signs that not all imolites are deceived, unlike some passerby Lagos based AIT watching praise singers, digressing to ibariogwa when they lack points. Rochas has done nothing for this state but squander our money on wasteful ventures and ill fated policies, playing to the gallery for only those who have low standards. Let me just add for the benefit of those visiting imo and discussing from their comfortable bases in lagos, that your Governor HAS a mosque in his own residence in orlu, let alone the govt house; but that's not the issue, my question is, what is that clowns plan for us in imo? Economically imo is a dead zone, see them calling adapalm, saing imo produces rice and cocoa, and we still pay high prices for these food items. Lets leave personal vendettas aside, because everybody knows that no good working governor needs to use media houses to sing his praises, your performance should speak for you. Let me make this comprehensive for his gullible praise singers to understand. 1. Education: He claimed he would pay primary school children 100naira per day(for God knows what), this turned out to be another of his deceptions, didn't last, or even take off. He also said he would give free education, to every imo citizen, a good plan, if only we had the right factors in place, the university in town, imsu is so dilapidated, no facilities, even the structures are begging for attention, no school hostels, i mean i know those who value education know that you would gain more paying for quality education that churning out graduates that don't even know how to write a simple application letter. 2. Employment; This is one of the worst hit, while our industrial layout lies out, empty, praying for just a little bit of that his self serving attention. He claims to be an industrialist and cant even attract a simple Indian or Chinese firm into the place. I am sure my friend that traveled to Lagos in HER young shall grow bus didnt even catch a glimpse of the place while she was rushing away, back to lagos, to greener pastures. 3.Infrastructure: With all our massive oil wealth (17% of oil revenue) about 1.5bn per month, plus our security votes which he has converted, all we could get were collapsed gates, poorly constructed roads without gutters, even the roads behind the govt house wasn't spared. Painting all the fences white and green like he is reenacting a scene from one of his childhood fantasies. by the way he did not even have the decency to use original paint. Then those roundabouts and over head bridges, cant they be constructed by tried and tested companies for crying-out-loud. These hack jobs could only have been done by a con artist. 4.Security; well let me dare say this situation got handled after a lot of pressure because as you all know, most of those hit hard were the rich and some of those in govt, so when the rich cry, things are done. But let me just add, that while some of you are cruising your cars and typing away on your china phones the age of the Touts have returned to owerri, bank road, okigwe road, tetlow and douglas, they are all there still harassing people, am sure their excuse is that they have a partner in the Government house, their oga @ the top. 5.Morality; Building hotels and bongo houses, signing into law an abortion bill, well i am sure he is trying to tell us something, and i don't think it is that is he a man of high moral standard, not that this matters much in delivering promises to the people. 6.Miscellaneous; I really hate long posts but i just could not resist making my point, from 4th Tier govt that doesn't work, to imo water board, to the lack of jobs and conducive environments, those saying we should not wait for the government, how do you expect people to invest without giving them any assurances, the best of which is the government giving them concessions, entering partnerships and reducing taxes, imo needs drastic help, no matter how much u decide to paint him, he has to much controversy trailing him. As for my friend that didn't see any refuse heaps...please visit one of our numerous ophthalmologists on your next visit.
an opposition crying. Does any igbo cultural setting forbids islam or anyother religion except christianity, we should learn how to welcome others irrespective of their religious affiliation. I heard before now even since 1997 that he has mosque in his orlu residence (ogboko) for his moslem friends but brother it doesnt matter at ll. By the way he grew up in the north, i know many mbaise men in bauchi that are moslem. |
Longeria: I'm enjoying your lies, but be specific, which rural Roads he has done above RED MOD level, show us his ghost hospitals, schools etc. You're fond of insulting every Okorocha's critics without any credible counter.chai dear, what are you trying to say that you have not seen any. The only place i know that Rochas is not doing up to expectation is those general hospitals he started in every 27 LGAs which he abondoned in decking level. Last 2wks i went to ihitteowerri in orlu for a trad wedding so i saw the entenct of his work, so dear dont compromise! |
I doubt you would like it sha.. Except you are hood like that.. @ Topic.. Rochas has done nothing in Owerri worthy of note apart from that 1 model school he built.. - Rockview (Former Modotel) is privately owned now. - Street gates all over Owerri have started falling - Owerri is dirty. - No jobs in Owerri. - IMSU looks like shiit.. - The flyover at a certain juntion in Owerri has been abandoned for ever.. Still abandoned. - Traffic in Owerri na die.. Especially Control area. Infact.. The number of signboards with Rochas on it in Owerri out together, is either equal to or greater than the number of commercial signboards inthe state. Rochas is like a bad version of Fashola. Beautification of a place can actaully make it look like you are working.. Sadly, the only beautiful place in Owerri is the Freedom Square area.
now what do you gain from this, oya clap for yourself. Please dont derial this peaceful thread! |
asha 80: give me an eg of a government that has built an industry and run it successfuly?another good point. We should think of the management of NITEL, NEPAL etc then before the privatisation of power and telecom sector. It's not advisable for govt to establish industries because the reasons are numerous. |
collynzo2: And the man is busy building hotels and conference centers and passing them as achievements. Rochas needs good advisers. We need industries in Imo state not conference centers.dear, govts dont create industries even in developed nations (though they own some percentage in power, transport, etc) the only thing they do is to create the enabling environment for industries to thrive. And that's what you government is doing, so encourage him and pray for investors to come. |
asha 80: indigenes of the state can site industries in the state to boost jobs...nnewi peope for example invested in their home towns...now despite the education why have mbaise or owerri people for eg not invested in industrial outfits in their towns abi are they waiting for govt?did nnewi people wait for anambra gov before they invested in their state?orlu people control a large percentage of pharmaceutical business in nigeria so how come there seems not to be enough industries in orlu?nice point, let the indigenes learn how to go back home and invest inorder to help their people and salvage their suffering instead of living everything for their home govt while building industries in another place. This is why i love nnewi people. |
Chinua Achebe wrote his memoir , I have read his book and I wonder what it is that is so foul. Every man is entitled to his opinion. Useni on the other hand granted an interview that was quite candid, again he is entitled to his opinion. I frown against the tribal coloration of events , comments and what have you. As an Igbo man it is sad to read all that led to the war, as a Nigerian , I am also saddened by the loss of lives in all totality. We young Nigerians need to understand that the initial coup wasn't an Igbo coup per say but a Nigerian coup as all tribes actively participated in the coup. I like hearing from elders, they are the custodians of history. However, we the young ones should be mindful of all we assimilate . Stories are told to suit the story teller, let's always sieve stories that we hear so as to learn from them and not aggravate the polity. From all I know as a Christian, there is no Igbo , Hausa, Yoruba, Ijaw, Nigerian heaven or hell, we are all one people, let us make our diversity our strength. For posterity sake, I'm adding a piece from Dawodus site on the five majors. " Because of the death of most of the principal actors, the true sequence of events during Nigeria’s first military coup of January 15th 1966 have become clouded by rumour, and outright mythology. Several misconceptions formed in the gossipy aftermath of the coup have assumed the status of fact. I attempt in this article, to expose some of the primary myths. FIVE MAJORS? One enduring myth is that Nigeria’s first military coup was carried out by “five Igbo Majors”. The source of this myth is the “we were five in number” comment, which the coup’s most visible, participant: Major Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu, made in an interview with Dennis Ejindu (Africa and the world - May 1967) after the coup. The “five Majors” myth was later perpetuated by Captain Ben Gbulie’s book on the coup entitled “Nigeria’s Five Majors”, the title of which he recently admitted borrowing from a BBC play of the same name. When Nzeogwu made his infamous “we were five” comment, he made no reference to the rank of the “five”. He was merely referring to the five designated strategic regional commanders of the coup. In fact, no less than nine Majors were originally billed to take part in the coup. These were Majors Nzeogwu, Ifeajuna, Ademoyega, Okafor, Anuforo, Chukwuka, Obienu, Onwuatuegwu and Chude-Sokei. Shortly before the coup, Chude-Sokei was posted overseas. On the coup day itself, Obienu failed to show, leaving seven Majors as participants. When it came to execution, the Majors designated five officers as regional commanders for the coup’s execution. Of Nzeogwu’s “five”, there were “the two of us in the North” (Nzeogwu and Major Tim Onwuatuegwu), and three more in the South. The head of the Lagos operations was Major Emmanuel Ifeajuna. That makes three Majors so far. The squad, which killed Chief Samuel Akintola in Ibadan, was led by CAPTAIN Nwobosi. That makes four (three Majors and one Captain). There was no coup in the Mid-West as no military formation was based in that region. However, Lieutenant Oguchi was dispatched to the east to arrest the Premier of the Eastern region: Dr Michael Okpara. The identity of the fifth member is the most problematic. Majors Don Okafor and Adewale Ademoyega were given much responsibility for the Lagos branch of the coup, and it is likely that one of these two men was the fifth commander. WHO WAS THE LEADER? Major Nzeogwu has since 1966, been touted as the leader of the January 1966 coup. This has been widely presumed due to the visible role which Nzeogwu played during and after the coup. Nzeogwu was the only Major to successfully execute the coup in his designated target region. He then followed up his coup success with his infamous “our enemies are the…..” speech. Thus the (false) assumption that he was the coup leader spread. The truth may be somewhat different. It was not until the coup plot reached its logistical stage that Nzeogwu was brought in to the conspiratorial group. The brains behind the coup was probably Major Emmanuel Ifeajuna, however Ifeajuna was chased out of Nigeria’s then capital city of Lagos by Major-General Ironsi. Realising that Ironsi was rounding up those that took part in the coup, Ifeajuna fled to Ghana, leaving Nzeogwu to hold the fort. “THESE BOOKISH PEOPLE” The ideological circle of for the January coup seems to have consisted primarily of officers who had embarked upon military careers after completing university degrees. The late former military governor of the Northern Region: Hassan Katsina once commented on the presence of thanks alot dear for your candid information. |
Achi i observed your comment, thanks alot. We are all one. |
Chai Cjrane your words really touched me, i so much love the likes of you. Thanks so much.. But please understand me, i'm neither criticising Obi nor defending T. A. Orji because both are in the same boat without living up to the expectation but the way some people are defending their state and criticising others is what i want to correct. Our leaders are not represending well so we need to criticise them collectively, if you check me in that Aba thread you'll notice that i did not comment anything i was just laughing with the kinds of post and pictures i saw there. In owerri thread, imolites were accepting our contributions and did not counter anybody wrongly. But i got annoyed when i noticed that some particular persons like derialing the status of others while taking theirs to be superior to others. I dont like seeing or involving myself in tarnishing of people's image. Check my posts very well even in other threads i have no problem with anybody. But brother your advice is so much noted... Chai i have a friend, a custom officer from ogwashi but he's late, john ajijua |
Cjrane i thought i've tender my candid apology to Ebonyi which was accepted, pls once again i'm sorry and cant deterial the state and status of my sister state, ebonyi. But you Chino, i cant have your time again because i've seen that we are not mates. You can disguise yourself and spur rubbish but dear least i care, i've advised you many times to travel beyond your local area. If you believe in what i believe you should not be behaving this way. You are a kid, and stop claiming to be adult because you are not, and you are not more than 24yrs. Cjrane i'll makeup sometime and get pictures of Abia state for this board, forget about these pictures people are downloading from internet which are pictures of Aba during military regime posted there by opposition to deterial T.A orji and his govt. Gudnyt my beloved, i love you all. |
few pics from aba
|
achi4u: Alright broda. At the end of the day we all will be called NdiIgbo.my brother you are right, and no traveller can argue that. Thanks for accepting my humble apology. You are a real symbol of a good brother. |
FreeGlobe: Truth be told. the present SE governors except chime and rochas are a mess.Hahahahahaha, my sister i laugh. Who doesnt know chino on NL, it was before that i normally engaged with but when i noticed that he's lacking some nuts i decide not to reply any of his comments again. Sister please travel with unbaised mind to abia state (esp. Aba, umuahia, benbe, ohaofia and abiriba) and see if you can see any place like that pics he posted above or u can compel him to label the areas then i promise you i can leave everything i'm doing and get you the pictures of any place he mention. Thank God that everybody in nigeria knows that okada has been banned in Abia state since last 7yrs so ask him to tell you where he got those pics. I just collected some pics this afternoon. |
achi4u: Bia B2 mario, how do you that Ebonyi is the worst state in SE?Sorry brother, it was a slip of tongue. I was trying to rate southeastern states in terms of beauty and development, and actually i've not visited ebonyi for the past 1 and half years. Haaa brother, i cant insult ebonyi, the pride of east in terms of agriculture and production of igbo medical doctors. Really it's fast coming up, by the way it's a new state created in just 1996 fron Abia and Enugu, but i refer abakiliki to awka which has been capital since 1991 but can only boost of zik avenue. My unreserved apology for such useless statement of mine! |
abagoro: Is this the 8 years? I believe you no longer have any moral justification to campaign for APGA or Peter Obi. I think Theodore Orji is not as bad as people have made him seem to be.T.A is far better than obi na. These things this boy posted here is far below what T.A built but we Abians are still criticising him so that he can give us more. But pls i'm not praising him so that his head will shallow. Help me say it again that T.A orji is not trying but we know the truth. Abia is far better than many nigerian states/cities. |
dayokanu: See red soil all over. No wonder they all flee the cursed landmy dear those ones are villages so dont capitalise on them because no place doesnt have undeveloped areas. And erosion is a natural disaster and should be handled by federal govt. Obi is not good but dont use this as a premise to draw your conclusion. |
agbameta: www.nairaland.com/attachments/1314565_cccc_jpg32e2a8110147d83ee82143cb0a4a89afenyi appreciate good thing, that hospital is ok |
Abagworo: I've always criticized both Theodore Orji and Peter Obi but many Anambrians seem to take it personal. I however have carefully avoided posting many bad pictures of Anambra and Abia at my reach because I know the implications.that's it, that was the major reason i got annoyed in that enugu thread. I am no longer a boy, i'm in my 30 and have gone many places in nigeria even to some parts of W.Africa, my friends call me tourist. In SE only sullivan and rochas are doing pretty well while T.A orji is focusing in only umuahia and rural areas as well while doing little in aba. But now he has come to aba atleast he wants to revive the aba drainge once again, and everybody knows that in terms of waste disposal T.A is trying. You are from imo but for the fact you are an igbo you have right to criticise or defend any igbo state or city but the case is quite different in the contest of anambra and they problem i have with anambrarians is that they can never agree that any SE gov is working while praising that devil, obi to be angel while anytime i go to anambra state i nearly weeped but i decided not to take any pics but thank God another person is doing it. So bro, just be neutral and watch. |
Abagworo: Whatever your reason, I think posting bad pictures won't help as it is more or less a boomerang. Everywhere has bad and good but you can never see people from other parts of Nigeria posting bad pictures of their States for political debates.this is how they normally do to others. Man i've stayed well in anambra, onitsha, awka, otuocha, aguata etc and nothing is in that state, apart from ebonyi anambra is the worst state in SE but they cant admit rather they are defending the corrupt man while he's siphoning their resources. In Abia despite what T.A orji is doing but we are still criticising him posting pictures of worst place of Abia in order to make him do more because we know that Abia is rich. I'm sorry cos i dont like involving myself in tarnishing image of any nigerian state or city, but the truth must be hard! |
dt's wonderful work but the man looks funny |
Longeria: Sharaaaaaaaaaap, I, Longeria hate himhate him na, it's just for you. Who cares? Everybody can not like you at the same time. As you hate him that's how some people hate you also. So you must not make it open. |
nollywood200: I don't need to deny my identity because you felt and am who am not. Like as I said it does not matter what you think, the fact is that am nollywood and nothing will change my identity from nollywood to something else. Please can you tell us, which part of orlu are you from? |
Okorocha mechionu gi. We know the reason you joined APC, you didn't do it for the people nor for SE, if you did, you would have listened to the people right now. The people are telling you "they want no hand in APC, get out". Why you no dey listen? Abeg waka. You joined for your own selfish reasons. I hope APC gives you that relevancy you dey look for, if not, you know how Igbo people will do you. We'll ridicule you till the day you die. Every single Igbo community even ones you no dey governor, We'll continue to watch until the sh1t hits the fan and my friend, the kain insult you get. I pity you sha.
Who are igbo people? please speak for yourself and dont claim to be portraying the aspiration of igbo people. This was how your likes in america criticised Obama on internets and even called him satan but at last he won his second bid. So if you are not happy for Rochas merging with APC believe me that hundreds of millions of nigerians are having contrary opinion with you. Who knows how igbo president will emerge? |
amarral: u talk like a child of yesterday. Grow up and fast pls. Verify imsu fees(degree n post graduate, M A)during Ohakim's and Rochas' regime. Bunch of Noisemakers.what do u mean? Stop saying what you are not sure of. You people should not crucify Rochas because he's not in PDP or because of his ambition. God knows the man is performing so if he's destined to be nigeria president no man or any force can stop him, so be wise and stop this propaganda cos it cant lead anywhere, call black black and call white white. I'm from Abia and flow imo state freguently, the man is very good, and his work is speaking for him. If anyother governor speaks nobody will complain, but if Ameachi or rochas speak everybody will mark any of their single statement and say they talk too much because of their political ambition or party affiliation which is their fundamental human right. APGA is not a better party to be because it's a minority party that has a strong foundation only in one state (anambra) and can not take anybody that has strong ambition any far, so Rochas joining APC is a nice step and welcome development, the problem now lies on the strategy he'll use to market himself. John kennedy of america tried many times and joined many parties but at last he became america president so Rochas case should not be different. I'm Rochas fan as i also love fashola and ameachi just because they are doing well and believe in their courses. Rochas is a good resource manager and best performing governor. Talk of free the education he gave to all level which the former governor said is not obtainable in any part of the world and even hiked the imsu fees and said that university education is not for the poor but rochas has proven him wrong, look at massive infrastructural transformation going on in all parts of imo state. So please i want to know from which angle you are criticising this innocent man for God sake. If he wants, let him move to NCNC or NPN we should not believe in party but personality. He has an ambition and he's trading on his ambition so he's looking for a conducive market that can favour his product ie the ambition. Developed country as we intend to be should not consider party afflictions rather what one can offer. |
EasternLeopard: Ola I like u but dont insult me. My friend face reality on ground. A graduate who is not gainfully employed might not be able to send his or her children to the university that is the situation on ground.were dangote and adenuga employed? they worked hard on their own and now they are the highest single employers of labour in nigeria. And mind you before igbos are not lazy to be waiting for govt cheap employment then everybody wants to own a big business and count on billions but now i dont know what is becoming of them, they are indirectly acting like core niger-delta people waiting for government to do everything for them. Bros, it's too bad, that commerce spirit should be not allowed to die. |
EasternLeopard: God bless him. But he should focus more on job creation especially thru industrialization, agriculture etc which are the major things we lack in Imo state that can help the state attain financial independance. My dear please spare me with this issue of govt job creation, let the man just creat enably environment for industries to thrive, industries will look for imo state not imo state looking for them and by such creating employment for the citizens. Govt of china, germany and USA did not create employment by building industries rather they set up their perspective plans and integrated private sectors in its implementations, today almost 80% of their workforce are employed. India and malaysia are taking the step also. The shell and other oil companies even the MTN and other telecommunication companies that are providing employments in nigeria today were they created and own by nigerian government? The only things we need is improvement in education just like china did, improvement in power sector and in general environment and you will see industries trooping in. And another thing is for government to subsidise interest rate so that loans can be easily obtained for youlths who want to establish a small/medium industry or venture into large scale commercial agriculture. I cant advice government creating jobs because people dont take any govt owned business serious. Compare govt owned hopitals and private owned ones even universities and you'll understand what i mean. The issue of job creation should be left for private sectors. The only good job govt can creat is civil service. |
Billyonaire: Shameful! Very shameful!! Imo State receives average of 8 billion naira every 4 weeks and this is what we see. It doesnt cost me 25 million naira to build up a 5 bedroom duplex in Lagos and these Politician receives approximately 8 billion naira every 4 weeks but can not build excellent schools. Whats all this BS of erecting slaps as walls for schools. This is an accident waiting to happen.information from monthly allocation from federation account, imo and abia receive almost the same amount which is approximately 5.1billion. So who gave you the N8b information, even an oil rich bayelsa receives N6b every month which is less than the 8b. My dear please lets learn how to appreciate good thing and end this unnecessary blackmailing of one's image in nairaland. If you have travelled to imo state of recent time, can we reach a bond that, if truely that rochas is working and you claimed to be blind to see his works, may you never see good thing in your life? This is nigeria and most countries of the world see us as learned and educated people but the way we behave atimes make me crazy. Someone is showcasing good thing in his state instead of you to encourage and give constructive contribution you are saying otherwise because it's not your state or maybe the governor is not in your supporting party. I've been to imo state of recent time and i saw massive construction of roads and roadabouts and most of the roads the man is construting and dualising are federal roads and i saw most of these modern classrooms litered in all corners of the state and they are not built with blocks they are materials imported from oversea and are fixed. Many nigerian governors are trying starting from gombe, lagos, imo, akwa ibom, enugu, rivers, edo, ekiti and even delta so let appreciate and encourage them so that other governors can emulate from them. |
