spodathug: Please can somebody pls help me make list of largest igbo cities by population and wide land area of development because I am in a deep argument now with someone about owerri and umuahia which is more developed and large. Pls brothers and sisters in this thread help me out with the above list and clarify me on owerri and umuahia,if possible let's debate about both cities. Thank youOwerri is far larger than umuahia both in population and landmass, but in city ranking they normally put Umuahia ahead of Owerri of which i don't know where they got the figure from. The 4 largest cities in SE according to population and area covered are: 1. Aba, over 1million population. 2. Enugu, close to 800,000 3. Onitsha, 750,000 4. Owerri, 500,000 umuahia is coming up both cannot be compared with the 4 mentioned above, but i think it ranks 5th in SE. |

I've been watching and following their post in all threads in NL but i cant reply them again because we are different things all together, we are not in same class. I put all the blame on the moderator ie Afam who even love the lashing on imolites. Bro, Anambrains are brags, they dont have anything as they speak compare to imo and Abia. Who know these their arthur eze, emeka ofor etc compare to super Abia and imo indigenes like orji uzor kalu, arthur nzeribe, pascal dozie, leo stanley eke, okey nwosu, anthony ezenna etc(click on nigerian richest men on your browser to confirm it). Even their stupid zik who betrayed igbos picked from where alvan ikoku stopped, our lovely odumegwu ojukwu picked from where Gen. Aguiyi ironsi stopped, there's no personality anambra had ever produced that imo and Abia have not produced before. In the past Abia alone produced jaja wachukwu, alvan ikoku, michael okpara, gen. Aguiyi ironsi, ike nwachukwu, amadi ikwechegha, ike nwosu, ukiwe etc so why is it that anambra cant allow us to rest with these their brags? |
millionaireman: Noise makers do little or nothing. When one watches these developments in Enugu state, and even some southern states, one sits in amazement over what kind of under-develoment wasp that stung Imo and Abia states - the two old oil producing states in the southseast - mostly within the last seven years.this thread is neither imo nor abia, it is enugu. So please concentrate on the topic! |
dallyemmy: Even if he like make e strike ofor 3 million times for ground sef! One thing wey I know very well be say Jehovah has the final say! Ngige nor fear! ACM10: Peter Obi will do ANYTHING to install his boy to the post. Now he is trying to pitch Ngige against much respected Obi Achebe and Igbo traditional institution by extension. If Obi Achebe truly cursed Ngige, then it's unfortunate. I believe that there is a mix up of information here. Ngige will not disrespect Onitsha traditional institution intentionally. I'm hopeful that this issue will be resolved. However, come rain come shine, I will not vote for Obi's boy by november. We will punish him for a slight on Prof Soludo.you are very knowledgeable. |
obi :oobi ? |
Abagworo: If you read my contribution very well, you'd notice where I chipped in that part. APGA wanted to ruin Imo through monetary demands and intimidation. Jude Agbaso was always disrespectful to Rochas and often gave out contracts and paid in his absence under the blackmail that his family gave Rochas APGA ticket. The one that got him impeached was the epitome of wickedness. Even when Rochas returned and demanded that everyone return the money Jude was seen shouting at Rochas in front of the public that he would not return the money and that he(Rochas) cannot do anything.Ok bro, you are right and i comfirmed it also. |
continuation....... We all know that no good govt establishes company rather it creates the enabling environment for industries to thrive as mbakwe did in Aba by setting the pace. They said that Rochas dont care for the poor but he is the person that gave them free education to all level which the formal governor said it's not obtainable in any part of the world (the free education alone is enough to give him passmark), sowed school unforms free for their children, buy school sandals and bags for them, pay them small money, shared indomie, kerosene and bags of rice during christmas periods to the same people that claimed that he doesnt care for the poor. Before Rochas emergence, many imo primary and secondary school blocks were dilapidated but now the story has changed, he has now built attractive blocks for imo schools. In terms of infrastructure some group of officials from SE gave Rochas the best performing governor. So people that are saying that anybody that praises rochas is blind please can you tell us just one area Rochas failed apart from telling us what oppositions wrote about him or saying unemployment(tell us what you see not what you heard). No state in nigeria is creating employment today, they only provide the resources (eg land) and create the enabling environment, so why should a right thinking person used unemployment to discredit Rochas. Have they used it to discredit fashola, chime, akpabio, oshomole, amaechi, imoke, aliyu, lamido, obi etc?.. Or you want him to sack the existing civil servants so that you can work. Anyone who said that anybody that praises Rochas is blind should check his/herself very well because he/she is not only being blind but also having a psychical disorder, how can a God fearing person criticise or judge his fellow man based on falsehood he got from net not from the right source or what he sees on ground while in his mind he knows that the person is doing his best to please him. Initially his critics were saying that he cant do most of the things he promised but when he gave free education and started building roads and monuments they resorted saying that he's using huge amount of loans to embarked on these projects and mind you, most of the highways Rochas is dualising are federal roads which federal government must tomorrow remit back the money used for these projects into imo account as they did in the case of anambra and rivers state. After the coming of EFCC to imo state to scrutinise and probe Rochas government, the issue of debt is now fading away, the critics now resorted to failure of the administration towards provision of pipe borne water which currently, no state in nigeria even the almighty Abuja and Lagos has running pipe borne water since majority of nigerians prefer good borehole. But i respect Rochas sense of maturity, when he told them that he has privatized water sector. Even NDDC that tried providing water to some parts of its member states, was it not borehole they sank in all those places but manpower-use?. But how could these same people mentioned pipe-borne water while they were the people saying that Rochas is confused and that his govt is in MOTION BUT NO MOVEMENT that he wants to touch everything so that imo will see him as a working governor. That he should concentrate on one and leave others. Now these people want the same confused person to add another problem on his already existing problems, please these critics should leave this man alone because he'll not die for them. The criticism is no longer constructive but boring. And such criticism cant make one to work rather it will kill his moral for work. Two of my friends from orlu zone told me not to border myself about the criticism that even the critics know that Rochas is working and will win again if he wants to contest. But they are waiting for either owerri zone or okigwe zone, that their major problem is to confirm the main critical zone as they have confirmed mbaise and have swore that no mbaise man will rule imo as far as orlu zone is concerned that they still want to confirm others, so let them see how 6 or 9 LGAs can compete with 12LGAs. They said that if the critics are coming from owerri zone that means after Rochas okigwe must complete its 2nd term before the seat will go to owerri and if the person that will emerge wants to run for 2 terms no problem. But if it is coming from okigwe that means okigwe will never smell that seat again as it is the least zone in the state, and if it is coming from both zones that means everybody will vote for his own and orlu will always take the mantle as it has the highest number of LG and the highest population even if okigwe combine with owerri that orlu will always win. |
Onyegecha: That is because i do not support people blindly. I support good ideas only. I wish you and Abagworo would learn how to be objective about issues. For you two, everything Rochas does is the best even when it is obvious that he is running Imo state aground. That is not right. Okorocha's regime is full of wrong policies that even the blind, deaf and dumb will see clearly. Why is it that you guys can never see anything wrong in what he does? I want you to know that if Okorocha begins to do things right, i will quickly join your praise band and sing louder than all of you.i dont have strength for all these which some of you know. I'm using my last energy to reply this, it's only here that i see people who doesnt know politics showing their emptyness. Please lets for once behave like mature people we are. Stop acting on heresy rather use your common sense to run the analysis within you. What i've understood about imo state even abagworo might not have noticed it because he has never said anything related to that. I dont reside in imo state neither am i from imo state, but any good political analyst can easily identify Rochas problem without being told the core problem. Please let nobody correct me because i have my fact. I will identify 3 problems facing Rochas which i can equally demand that you do your analysis to confirm it. Nigerian is a learned country and i believe that most of us on this forum are university graduates so lets allow our eduction to influence our attitudes towards handling issues. How can a right thinking man read from net that a governor is not working and he brought a loan higher than his state annual allocation and you believe, please spare me that trash. In nigeria, it's stipulated in the code of conduct act that no state can borrow higher than 50% of its annual allocation because in repayment, it is the federal ministry of finance that dedotes it from the state monthly allocations. Federal ministry of finance has its stipulates of obtaining loans which solely depends on the repayment capacity of that state. Imo state might be owing but it is not up to N12billion even lagos that top the list of indebted state does not owe up to the amount mentioned here. In the list of indebted state imo is not even among the 1st 16, it is at the bottom table while anambra and abia are free. I've heard many times that Rochas and Amaechi are talkatives (ie talks in right english), but we hardly heard or seen them talk, the only place i've seen Rochas talked about his achievements is only in "YES, IT'S TRUE" program but he's a secret achiever. The 3 problem Rochas is facing in imo state are: 1. Rochas was in APGA where a family and close allies want to control all work contracts and collect some entittlements from each contract. Mind you Rochas is not the owner of Roche company it's own by "the young" not because Roche and Rochas look alike so people mistaken the owner. 2. His presidential aspiration, where some GEJ guys are trying to bring him down just as they are doing Amaechi but Rochas own is that he has been in the game before many of them and knows how to follow them. They have invited EFCC many times to probe Rochas while he's on seat and they did, arrested his 2 officials but at the end of the whole thing they release them and decleared that the government is free of corruption and 3. Everybody knows how Rochas emerged as the governor and this is the major cause of the furore in imo polity. i. It's not the turn of orlu zone which has ruled through Achike Udenwa and they used their number (which is 12LGAs) to won the seat again. ii. He onseat a seating governor, ohakim and deny okigwe zone the chance of having its 2nd tenure. And this is what is causing the major criticism about Rochas govt as people of this zone think that it was criticism that removed ohakim and have decided to resort into criticism even if Rochas is working so that Rochas will be humiliated out of seat as their son was. And lastly iii. Rochas fate has disrupted the imo charter of equity which demands that the seat of governor will be rotating among the 3 zones but failed to stipulate the number of tenures. So Rochas has denied okigwe their 2nd tenure and as such reduced the chances of an owerri man becoming the governor come 2015 if he'll contest again, so some ungodly owerri people has decided to join okigwe in destroying Rochas government especially mbaise people who want their son Hon. Ihedioha to take over from Rochas and have resorted in using media to craft out burdles of lies and outright falsehood to tarnish Rochas government. If they are not complaining about pipe borne water they'll be complaining about unemployment..To be continued... |
berem: I really love your post and I had to click the "like" button. You have spoken the whole truth. Nothing should be left hidden at all. Ji si ike nwanne!daalu |
rozayx5: this is the first time i have seen somebody challenge this over hyped APC slave am proud of you Bro, cause if what i saw in IMO state meant my eyes were deceiving me, then i will visit an Eye Clinicsee where you've finished. You have woken a sleeping dog by mentioning Abia. But please dont push me! |
spade: No problem, bros. Don't worry about date, as the pictures contain the camera's automatic time-stamp (that cute little orange writing at the edge of the image telling you the date and time).brother you are on point and i will support you. Lets leave our backgrounds and be mad for once, i wish for igbo unity but have seen that it cant be possible with anambra. I've seen that NL is a stage for them to showcase their madness and i must show mine to ease my grudges with them. My fellow igbos esp imo, abia, enugu and ebonyi (lets leave delta nd rivers for now) anambra has a hiden agenda about other igbos that's why with anambra state i cant and will never support biafra. These people out of their illiteracy display some characters that portray hatred to other igbos and think they are superior to them, they said that igbo started and ended with anambra, that no igboman can be president except an anambra man else it will still remain outside SE and i've done my analysis and confirmed that this is their paramount belief. If you doubt me, ask yourself about the quest of orji uzor kalu, jim nwobodo and rochas. I have shouted many times to imolites about this hiden agenda of anambra people towards their state but it seems that they dont want to read meaning into what i was saying. They did it to jim nwobodo, orji uzor kalu and now it is Rochas. They will never agree that rochas is working because they know that he has presidential ambition, i'm a living witness to Rochas work and pray that we can have his replicate in my state. And oppositions in imo state are not helping matters as they are the ones bringing up these burdles of lies, everybody in SS and SE knows that imo state is very much better, owerri is of no match to any of anambra dirty slums as owerri is more develop, beautiful and neat, then orlu is far better than the village they call capital (awka), and okigwe is a heaven to nnewi, but it marvels me the way they criticise other igbo states and her indigenes and praise their hell that no one can take for free. Please let nobody correct me because already i have my grudges because of their pride, illiteracy and arrogancy. They are not criticising chime with his good works beause he is not eyeing the "P" post if you doubt me spread the rumour of chime contesting for president and you will see their reactions from the day 1. Could my igbo brothers imagine that when orji uzor kalu failed the 2007 election some of them came to us and tell us that we should take the outcome the way it was and go further to tell us that if presidency will come to SE that it must come through anambra, that anambra will not be there and allow any person from any other igbo state to be president except somebody from their state and these persons( orji, jim and Rochas) are just making noise which they know they cant win except when an anambra man must have ruled. And now i've confirmed this with all authenticity with Rochas issue, it has never urgu well between them and Rochas and that was the major reason why Rochas broke up with his faction to merge with APC because APGA is an anambra party with anambra agenda, TA orji dropped APGA immediately he noticed this. Ask yourself why is it that most people supporting chino whenever he is barshing the works of other SE governors are anambrarians, now check the date of most pictures he posted here you will see that they are outdated then ask yourself what he is benefiting from this. They have succeeded in destroying the image of orji uzor kalu and Abia state, it is now Rochas and imo state while anybody around SE that crosses imo state always praise him because of his good gesture. I dont like posting bad pictures of any nigerian city but if they force me to post pictures of anambra state infact their state govt will solicite for closedown of NL. These people has insulted the outright sensibility of ndi igbo. They told non-igbos that other igbos from other igbo states are poor and lazy except their anambra and claimed that 95% of investment in nigeria own by igbos belong to igbos of anambra. They love derailing the status of other igbo states while whenever one complain about what he/she saw in anambra based on the level of infrastructural decay they start barking like mad dogs while they know that their state is beyond hmmm..I reserve my comment. But point of note, no igbo state is superior to others. |
Abagworo: Rural roads in Orlu Imo State.this is the kind of thing i love to be seeing in NL portraying good image of nigerian cities |
manny4life: I know right, he still went ahead and opened the thread... I hail him, I don't know how he gets the strength to fight all the e-war? Odi egwubecause he has nothing good doing. |
solomon111: you are being a hypocrite and you know it.i dont want to comment anything on this thread but your comment push me, imo can not be compared with akwa-ibom in any way based on the monthly federal allocation. Please read sun or the nation newspaper in every 1st week or last week of the month then you will confirm that imo receives average of 5.1B every month as the allocation inclusive of the 13% deriviation while akwa-ibom receives average of 14-16B every month which is the richest in nigeria in terms of federal allocation. But if i'm to compare the work of the 2 govs i'll consider rochas as a good resource manager because the man is wonderful. With the N5billion allocation, this man gives free education in imo state to all levels, revived adapalm, beautified oguta lake, built hero square, concord extension and many others. He constructed Aba road in owerri, reconstructed wethral and orlu road, built many roundabout and pedestrian bridges, dualised many roads in orlu like old and new owerri roads, asika ilobi avenue, bank road, amaigbo road, owus avenue into double lanes with roundabouts and even created new dual carriage roads like the one opposite st. Joseph roundabout that lead to orlu international market and the one opposite bank road and beside the new orlu garden park, built orlu city drainage, built orlu plaza, new building material market, relocating sam okparaji stadium to another site (imo people should help with the name of the community) etc. In okigwe he built many intracity roads and he's also dualising owerri road in okigwe. So my brother dont be confused with these pictures chino posted here, most of them are not imo pictures while some that are, are outdated, cant you see the one that has ohakim pictures. Or is it the orlu/akokwa road that the mgbee portion collapsed into erosion but Rochas has transformed the road into dual carriage road. So dont mind the boy, chino, he is a stunch Rochas critic. I'm not an APC but i love rochas and Ngige because of their work and will always defend them as far as they are doing what we can see. |
Stupi.dity people drinking panadol for another persons headache smh. State 1 tin Ngige did when he was governor or shut your dirty smelly contaminated Yoruba mouth forever
nwannem, i'm an igboman oo. Please lets not be too economical with the truth and leave sentiment out of this, ngige did well during his own time and still remain the best governor anambra has ever produced. |
Sentiment will kill igbo people you better choose the best before you settle with the worst. We yoruba people know that they are all thieves, but we would rather go with thieves that will at least do something rather than the one that would not do anything at all and still steal our money. Seat down there be worrying about acn tunde, as lagos is moving on while your state is failing you. If your leaders are doing their job we won't have igbo people roaming yoruba street aimlessly. Think properly. You are all talking as if it tunde that will tell ngige how to run a state or if you vote ngige it's tunde that would come and rule you.
these people dont know ngige, ngige can not be taken for a ride. He's a courageous man and will always go for what his people want. He did well when he was the governor and will equally do well if he is re-elected. His oppositions should not use his party to campaign against him, i see APC as ACN and it was under the platform that he got the senatorial seat why is it that they did not noticed then that it is a yoruba party. Ngige is the best candidate for the nov 16 poll since soludo is no longer in the trend. We wish good for our anambra brothers. |

some pictures of aba. In as much as Aba have bad places it still retains its glory, many aba roads are good. |
Ngwakwe: As much as I appreciate the Op's desire to expose bad leadership/government, she was highly selective of what to showcase as to project her view point.stop this your sadly comments, you and i know that Aba is better than what this yoruba showed here. What gain do you achieved by being happy why an outside who you know that love doing everything they can to bring igbos down. I'm very disappointed on you, i cant believe you are an ngwa stock, if we hate T.A orji please lets stop this madness and protect our homeland. The stranger caimed to be doing good and she claimed that she really come to Aba, then why not taken pictures of aba/owerri road, brass road, umungasi road, factory road, azikiwe road etc, some streets in aba main town and good things of Aba like hotels, schools like rhema university etc but she resorted taking bad pictures she downloaded from oyo. I dont like such thread and dont like engaging myself with anybody in any argument of sort. Let them continue and make themselves happy but my proud happiness is that nobody will live forever on this earth, so after i'll know the gain they get from this hatred of fellow nigerians. I compel her to label those pictures to show you that she doesnt know anyplace in Aba, no city in nigeria doesnt have good and bad places. |
achi4u: Yea! nothing is impossible but Nnewi case mighty be a serious case.Ok oo, information noted! |
Dpeacemaker101: T.A Orji don't bite more than what you can chew and put us in debt later. We know all these scams now.if they can do it and put us on debt no wahala. Atleast Donald Duke brought N70bilion debt to cross river state after building tinapa, obudu cattle ranch, ugep city etc. |
obyrich: My dear we are used to these kind of news/ scams. During Orji Kalu's regime, it was dredging of Azumiri Blue River for a world class tourist centre situated at the Enyimba hotels. Project was initiated by Mbakwe's regime. The only effort made by Kalu was to fence that hotel and put it up for sale. Today that place is an eyesore as mad people, sorry MOPOL have messed it up. Go to waterside and see for yourself. The revitalisation of Aba and Umuahia regional water schemes also featured on their promises with a lot of chest-beating and radio jingles. Thank God these circus clowns did not drown the capital city with water running out from rusted pipes. One of the broken pipes was situated on Akanu Ibiam road, less than 50 metres from the government house, a publicity stunt I think. In less than a month the taps dried up in umuahia. Aba did not see any of these. Theirs was executed on the pages of newspapers. Then the Ogwe Golden Chicken and Abia Palms Project with their foreign counter-parts. Should I forget the Golden Guinea with its great promises? I was hoping to do my 400 level Industrial training there given the constant jingles and funfare that followed it up. Go there and see if you will not kill a python in the premises. AH! The almighty Aba Metallurgical Complex? The one that will make us the real Japan of Africa? I go there to hunt antelopes. The Osisioma Luxury Park terminal? Hmmm. Unless you want to travel to Lagos with Keke Napep or Rickety taxis. Not even a single luxury bus. The MeCure diagnostic Centre at ABSUTH? Na big big rats you go see inside. Funny? That's the truth. We have heard enough lies from these people. Nti echigo anyi.Hahahahahaha, nwanne nwayo, you are on a high speed apply some break please, obi adila gi oku. I totally agree with you lets just keep our finger across and watch them, but the way people are publicising this and the shopping mall i think some must surely come out of them. But as of that the golden guinea and modern ceremic, i'm still watching T.A orji with one eye. |
Abagworo: I keep asking where people get the impression of Amaechi making noise from. I've not seen anywhere on the net where Amaechi is showing off his projects. Same with Rochas. Most of the people calling them noisemakers do so out of personal assumptions.the same question i ask myself, where people got the impression that these two men are noisemakers while i have not heard or seen them make the noise. |
ketoprofen: nnewi own go dey difficult pass.nice contribution. With due respect, many 4storeys, 3 and 2 were knocked down in orlu even filling stations and reputable resturants in places like owus avenue, amaigbo road, bank road, owerri road etc to pave way for dual carriage roads. They wanted to extend the amaigbo road from orlu main city to adjunct like nkwerre and amaifeke but nkwerre people rejected it because they dont want their houses to be demolished. And dont forget that El' Rufai did it in Abuja where big hotels were also affected. So nothing is impossible! |
pazienza: Abagworo is right, states are but arificial boundaries, an uga man is more related to an akokwa man than to an nnewi man, onitsha and ogbaru are of the same stock with delta north and oguta, orumba south are of the same stock with umunneochi and okigwe groups, that's how it flows.nobody can dispute that, igbos are related irrespective of the state. Orlu people are more related to anambra state than owerri, afiekpo people are more related to abia state than abakiliki, omuma and etche in rivers state are more related to ngwas in abia state than portharcourt. |
achi4u: This is my initial post on this thread. Hw can you remove Ibeto community bank, those banks, those 3 to 4 story buildings ,the market?akwa ibom state govt did in uyo during obong victor atta and the present imo state govt also did it in orlu. So any good govt can equally do it in nnewi with due consideration and compansation. |
Igbo Delta: ALL INDICATIONS SHOWS THAT SOUTH EAST IS NOW AN INVESTORS HEAVEN. MORE WISE INVESTORS ARE TROOPING IN EVERY DAYYou are on point! |
achi4u: yes! Ezeiweka road has been built, that road is something else before.that's the same place my anger lies. |
jbaur24: Lmao! The last time I was in PH I begged to see you so that we will know who is oga and a boy but you dodged like a criminal you are? Even your so called 'golden' imo state you are not living in it. Its a shame!hmmmmm, built by mbakwe in the 60s not 79-83 again. You are unconscious dear and need some laxothan tablet to calm your brain. |
