But its public knowledge that rather than GEJ fight boko haram, he ignored them and went on a sharing spree with the money allocated to fight them.

Politics › Re: Ban On Hawking: Traders Arrested In Lagos (Pic) by ba7man(m): 12:07pm On Jul 05, 2016
shaybebaby:
Fair enough but is there any support from the state to establish a new means of livelihood for these people once they are dispossessed?
You want them to be relocated, fine but surely working with the government of their indegenous states to help them survive should be in the pipeline.
Avenues for them to learn new skills that might be in demand in other states, are there state owned farms where these people can be employed, subsidised accomodation for them and mist importantly, documentation of these individuals so it is easier to track them, once they are in employment or earning, they can start to give back to the govt through tax revenues collected.
They keep flooding into the State everyday at an alarming rate.

It will eventually lead to a humanitarian disaster with how they flood in and providing a solution to their presence encourages more to flood in.

This mass migration has to be discouraged and not managed It's sad but to be logical, it has to be greatly reduced.

Other states recieve allocations similar to Lagos but their residents and destitute's top destination is Lagos.

Lagos is far more crowded now than you remember it to be.

Onitsha still remains unbeatable. a mere local government achieving great things more than most state capitals, neatly arranged medium rise in well arranged streets on a well planned grid intersecting streets. it does not make any sense having few sky crappers surrounded by shanty rusted roofs or tiny bungalows.

It's is not by force to sell in traffic..... it's time for them to think to upgrade themselves.

Roadside trading is what was depicted in the pix above not hawking so the poster doesn't even know what he's saying.

It's rough at first but it will make the environment saner and cleaner. 2 yrs down the line if successfully enforced, Lagos will be steps ahead environmentally that other states that chose to ignore hawking.

musicwriter:
1. The poor that voted Ambode to power.
2. The needy who don't want to beg, but prefer to hawk to make ends meet.
3. The lowly who have no educational qualification to get a job.
4. The helpless who want to survive by honest means instead of robbery.

I will encourage these hawkers to try robbery in Lagos state, if possible target the politicians that want them dead.
They will be shot dead one by one if they try it.

We know where they live and it will be great excuse to bulldoze their shanties and build nice estates in their place.

They can't keep trooping into the state in thousands and expect the govt to provide for them, their activities must be discouraged.

They can try other states now.

wristbangle:
Even though I support the implementation of this ban, alternate means suppose to be provided for these hawkers to survive.
Why must it be always Lagos state to provide for the thousands of people trooping in?

You help the first set and more will be encouraged to come into the state with the mentality that the state will provide for them.

This law will discourage mass migration to Lagos a bit which will help return a bit of sanity to the state...... just like the okada ban.

Madness dey worry you. I guess you are part of Ambode's cronies and you just revealed your plans to drive other ethnic groups out of Lagos and leave it for who?
Nairalanders be the judge of this matter.
Lagos is not for everyone.

There are Niger Delta states that recieve more money than Lagos, can't those states take up responsibility of taking Care of them?

Corrupt people try to paint it as if it's not our main problem in this country.

It's the main reason we have little savings to cushion the effects of this low oil price times in Nigeria..... a one commodity country.

Dear thanks for speaking the truth. Our leaders both past and present know this obvious fact that true fiscal federalism is the only way we can remain a country but, greed and hunger for power to enrich themselves never let them do the needful. we are just deceiving ourselves here because, there has never been peace and unity in this country because of this feeding bottle system of government we are currently practicing. Disunity is a symptom. We just live in a denial here and keep massaging the truth. The solution to all these agitations lies in ending this feeding bottle structure that we practice which encourages neocolonialism, the amalgamation of North and South is a big fraud. There is so much injustice, inequity, subjugation, winner-takes-it-all. There can't be peace under this structure, and if there is no peace there can't be unity or progress. Everyone must be made to feel involved, protected and represented for there to be first, a sense of patriotism, then unity. In this present structure where you have too strong center, one people use the instrument of the state to oppress and marginalize others. And when they protest they get killed. And we are talking about peace and unity. Let's be sincere, where in the world would security operatives open fire on unarmed civilian doing peaceful protest? Let's stop massaging the truthThis feeding bottle system of government we are running in this nation is the cause of all these problems. We need to end this structure. I am in total support of true fiscal federalism where every zones contribute a token to the centre and take their future and pace of growth in their own hands, and express their cultures and religion freely, and practice their vocations unhindered. I strongly believed that this is the only way to end these agitations. People must agitate for self determination and for resource control when they feel marginalized and abandoned.
Everyone must be made to feel involved, protected and represented for there to be first, a sense of patriotism, then unity. Any Dialogue is just a short term solution. INJUSTICE AND INEQUITY IS TOO MUCH IN THIS UNION.
Dem give una 13%, una use am buy guns.

This man is really clueless.. GDP? Richest Man In Africa? As per the GDP, we have the largest population in the whole of Africa, so itsnt not too surprising for any clueless nd corrupt man to lead the country and still record such High GDP feat.. And as per having the richest man in Africa, how can that be regarded as an executive success? Making A Man out of the tens of business men in the country the richest, so how much Favoritism outlined his administration.. Sir, when Bill Gates reclaimed his position as the wealthiest Man In the World in 2014, during Obama’s era, Obama didnt claim the success is his administration's, and none of America's president claimed such as success from the 1995-2007 period, Bill was the richest man in the whole world.. Common sense?
Just tell us how much you left in the Nation's reserve, so we can tackle the new administration successfully, nd not reminding us why you were defeated cos of Ur cluelessness..
Remember GEJ once said that the number of people buying private jets increased under him which means the economy was booming .
