These Niger Delta states recieve more money than Lagos state but can't replicate 1/10th of what Lagos is achieving with their allocations....
.... I mean some of the Largest projects in Nigeria and west Africa are on going in Lagos, while Niger Delta states that get same or more allocations still shout that they're underfunded and marginalized.
That shows that it's the mental capacity that's lacking in the region to move it ahead....... no amount of money can buy that. |

TBankxx: Are OK atal?? who frightens who here? FG is terrorising & victimizing them u should say. U take their crude & give them insult & penny. Speak wisely next time!!! I hope you're aware that the Niger Delta states recieve similar or more allocations than Lagos state. Without including the 13% derivation and NDDC allocations. What are they doing with the money they recieve ? I drove around Lagos today and positive developments are on going around. Some of the biggest projects in Nigeria and west Africa are on in Lagos State right now. Why isn't the Niger Delta doing the same with similar allocations? The Niger Delta problems are within. |

speedyGonzales:
People keep saying agitating with violence like the NDA are currently doing is not the answer, but peaceful methods have been tried in the past and the Nigerian Government kills unarmed protesters and activists and everybody yields their sacrifice will never be forgotten, their stories are only stories, it didn't achieve anything, Ken Saro Wiwa died for nothing and so did every other hero that agitated for a better Nigeria. The people at the top do not care about the masses nor the Niger Delta they are only interested in keeping the status quo. It is clear that we are in Nigeria, people only listen to your complaint when you succeed at making them uncomfortable, these white people peaceful protest crab is not for Nigeria, It is simply a dead sentence for protesters!
So the whole Niger Delta has no leaders that are influential enough to lead the agitation for better resource control? Why must it be people that carry bombs and guns you fall in line with, what do those kind of people know about development? I can't ever imagine the southwest support the OPC in destroying Yorubaland to protest a perceived injustice. |

If it were not for them, A Biafran flag would have being flying on top of the Palace of the Alafin of Oyo by now. Face it man, you guys are not fighters. The SE have fought, the SS hace fought, the NC have fought, the NE have fought. All the SW have done is to talk. You guys deserve a medal for talking and never acting. I've been to Lagos and I was running around everywhere in vest. And I said if I were to need anything out there for protection, it would be guns. That's cos I'm G. My uncle who isn't even anywhere as rich as her dad has two bulletproof SUVs he drives around in that jungle whenever he is there cos he spends most of his time there these days. Someone like me: all I need is two guns - a 45 and a 9milli - to blow muthaphuckas' brain out lol. You'll be surprised at how you'll be ignored. It's hoes that'll prolly want to kidnap you sef. The Lagos light rail is elevated for most parts since it runs on swampy land and it's also a 2 way rail.
You'll have to calculate the cost of the pilings, the concrete footings and it's larger size to accommodate the 2 trains at the same time.
It also crosses a water body and it's complete with a super highway that runs alongside it with pedestrian bridges linking the train stations which are also elevated.
The Ethiopian Lightrail runs on land and is a normal railway line with stops alongside it.
Their specifications and topography are miles apart, hence the cost difference.
Since it's Nigeria, some inflation will be included but it's not as much as some people are trying to project.................. and which one is their own Governor doing in their own state in the first place? |

cktheluckyman: Why don't you begin by first telling us what the SW governors have been doing with their own allocation!! A president openly boasted that he will only allocate 5% of the national resources to the region that provides over 80% of the national revenue and people like you were hailing him!! Well let live with the consequences of such provocative statements.Next time people in leadership positions will watch their utteranves You just twisted PMB's statement to suit your delusions. Does 5% of Nigeria represent the Niger Delta and south east combined ? Besides GEJ did worse to the southwest till he realized he needed our votes and started groveling in Lagos bribing for votes....... did we scream and shout? We simply re strategized and did the needful. |

cktheluckyman: Will you hypocrites shut up for once!! You supported a certificate scam like Buhari to become president and even went ahead to boast that even if he is using nepa bill certitificate or caught robbing a bank you will still vote for him.You sw people also adore certified looters like Tinubu, amaechi, fashola etc will you quit your hypocrisy for christ's sake These 3 people you mentioned have a history of public service and perfomance that gives them goodwill in the eye of the people. When Tinubu was arrested and charged, did you hear the Yorubas run around protesting and defending him? No. We were all waiting for the outcome to decide. But you people just support gun carrying criminals that have no record of public service and publicly defend them to their ends as if you're Armed robbers with affinities to guns and bombs. You guys openly support criminality with so much verve and with all your hearts, if you eventually got your own Nation, it would be a crime haven since you don't have elders to listen to, only criminals. |

Handsomebeing: I moved with my family less than 6 weeks ago to Warri from Lagos. I have started looking for an apartment in Lagos.
First it was community boys always disturbing my business and have so far paid more than 150,000 to different factions since I started almost 2 months ago.
Secondly, 4 armed boys forced their way into my apartment and robbed me and my family. The most painful part was my wife was almost raped but for intervention by one of the boys who said they should leave immediately to avoid being noticed my neighbors.
I am from Delta state and it is a big shame that I moved to start a business with over 5m instead I have lost more than 35% of it to community boys and robbers.
God help us. It is well with you and your family. That's a scary encounter but still be grateful to God because it could have been worse. |
