Been a long while I posted on this platform.

Canada has been good and I am grateful.

I decided to send a message to encourage as many as possible.

Canada Immigration has changed a lot since I moved (Just May 5th, 2019 o).

The post might be long but I am sure there are some things you can pick from it.

This is the reality

The government of Canada has given the current Minister of Immigration (Marco Mendicino) the following mandate
1.Immigration between 2020-2022 will focus more on the Provincial and Municipal Nomination Programs.
This is because many rural areas like Sudbury, Brandon and co are desperate to get immigrants to their municipalities.
While they know it will be hard to keep immigrants their, they believe some will eventually make it their home.

2. Eliminate CItizenship alpplication fee (Probabbly doesn't concern you for now)

My point which I believe are the facts

1. Do not put all your hopes on Express Entry especially if your scores are less that 465 cos I think the scores will
remain high (I pray I am wrong). So please put your eggs in different baskets. Schemes like Provincial Nominations
and Municipal Nomination Program and Pilot programmes. I believe early birds will stand a chance.

2. Immigration via school is also a good route but I advice you use firms like Maple Consults (NB: Please I no affiliation
with them nor do I collect any commission from them). This is because they can deny you visa. Just ask them;
-Which school is the cheapest school I can apply to in Canada that guarantees work permit. Nothing more!

My 2cent
1. Tell your loved ones not to give up cos it's gonna be a bit rocky as they are not as privy to certain information
2. Tell them not put all eggs in a basket. Let them apply to everything. MNP, PNP and co.
3. When they calculate their scores for PNP, CRS should be 400+ to be considered while for MNP, it should be about 67-70 depending on the Municipal
4. Schooling is also an option especially if they can stay with some of us so they save on accommodation
5. They should start applying ASAP. It's always easier in the beginning before it gets more difficult.
6. There is hope as Canada intends to add another 1Million immigrants within that period

Hello All,

A married colleague of mine got ITA yesterday and she just realized that she made a mistake when she was about to continue her application.

The surname she used was her maiden name instead of her husband's name as this is what appears on her international passport. Should she continue with her application and explain in her LOE or withdraw and re-enter the pool?

I will appreciate any useful advice.

Honestly, I felt the need not to respond but I will because people take things as they are online. I volunteered to help with IELTS writing and I requested a venue since I had none. @cmoney on this thread arranged a venue somewhere in Ojuelegba and I showed up to help about 10-15 people I did not know from Adam.

When I offered to help initially, I got feedback from people in Abuja, PH and Kano and there was no way to help than to give out materials. Someone even suggeated a Skype session. Who will pay for the Data? How can you guarantee a smooth session without network breaks?

I have nothing against your feedback but I felt you could have said it better. I am happy you have finally passed and I wish you all the best going forward. I just felt you could have passed your message better rather than give people a bad impression.

I would also like to know if you were based in Lagos when you called or sent a message.

Honestly, I am personally sad about what this platform is turning to. This was my to go place when I was planning for Canada but it is gradually turning into a battlefield filled with insults. @Newmum and several others have expressed same. Where is the love? Where is the maturity? Where is the wisdom, understanding and respect for each other? Do we know that these might be those we will meet in Canada?

I am not blaming anyone but let us not destroy the efforts of the founders on this platform. Foreigners are watching and laughing at us. Have we seen the number of Asians getting PPR? How do we think they do it? They cooperate, help themselves, form a community and dominate wherever they go. the link below shows how many Asians get PPR so we have a sense of the harm we are doing to each other with our words. I thank God for PPR and would like to meet people(Nigerians) who believe in respect, love, compassion and dignity in labour. We need a reorientation. If educated people can insult themselves at every opportunity due to the socalled "freedom of speech" then its very sad. So what should the illiterates do?

Please, as for me, I am willing to network with anyone as we go on this journey to Canada. I have my PPR and we can form a dedicated "True" Nigerian group where we can have fun together, holiday together, help each other without expecting ANYTHING in return, share business and investment opportunities together, help search for work together, raise God or Allah fearing kids together, train our kids together, change peoples perception of Nigeria and other great things. It is not a platform for competition please. Its strictly for all I have indicated above. IT IS NOT A PLATFORM TO SHOWW OFF WEALTH OR INFLUENCE BECAUSE BLACKS ARE NATURALLY LIKE THAT. Maybe we should just obey instructions? I don't know, these people don't make mistakes. I 'll go to vfs with the requirements and talk to them. If they say submit, I don't care if it gets stamped on the moon,as long as it comes back to me. Afterall our application was processed in another country aswell. Maybe it has something with this present Accra holdup and India is less busy? I don't know, just thinking out loud.

The sequence of IP1 and IP2 is no longer followed in all cases. So i know its best to find out directly from CIC on the key sections of the application: Eligibility, security.. etc. by calling them or ordering for GCMS notes.

My own opinion though.

I understand this and I plan to do so but this is the closest metric we can use that everyone can understand.

I think the issue here is not about 3months, 6months or 1 year investment. I think the Officer was looking at when the investment ends.

Remember that you are meant to have travelled to Canada on or before 1 year after your Medicals. So firstly, when did the individual do his or her medicals?

Lets assume it was June, the officer is simply refusing her POF because by the time her next medicals, she wont have the funds available to immigrate. That might be too harsh by the CO but he is just doing his job.

So my 2 cents his this: Before u submit your application, check the date and ensure that any investments in FD or TBills wont mature the same period next year after your medicals.

I hope I tried to help.

Actually, I am excempted from Biometrics cos I submitted before the date of commencment which was the 31st of July.

However, I bserved from my profile that my Biometric Number (which I used in 2014 to apply to Humber College although I was denied) was displayed.

Thank God I was honest with my application.

When I saw your post, I went to check my account and I saw that the Background Check changed to Not Applicable. I decided to check up things online and I discovered that we are in stage NA1.

I didn't have that luxury. I only got a generic letter so I added last 6month statement to it.

End of the day, go through CIC completeness check. That is your sure bet. Good luck
