How much will you clear a 2003 Outlander coming on Grimaldi next month ?

@babaeko1, First thing First, the Number of boards for the foundation is 5. which makes it a 1.5m High Foundation. Plus the German floor is 1.6m. Now, before we ever commenced Filling on this soil, we did a soil test which indicated that the soil property contained less than 0.3m high clay soil on the top layer, and sharp sand beneath. which means the bad soil is very minimal and not signification to affecting our foundation. but we had to fill up due to the fact that it was water logged on top of our soil, thus enabling us to work. Now, our total high of filling used was just 0.9m to 1m high. which means even if the building had to magically dig through the filling, we still have about 0.3m to 0.4m above the ground. but the building can't dig through because we had specifically chosen the sand to be white beach sand to be filled to the level of the water. Now note something about the beach filling sand that makes it different from the red filling, is that because of its more stone sandy and less dusty components, it settles into water in less than 48hrs, the loosed part you saw in pics are the extra filling that are above water level. underneath those loosed once are very strong and well compacted white sand.

Furthermore, if you notice the foot of our foundation was wider than the remaining part, this is to further reduce the settling levels. as a result, we have made a foundation hight of 1.6m height to fit into a 1.2m floor requirement (giving us an extra 0.4m), and has put it onto a floor sand filled with sharp sand on water and wider foot foundation. All this factors individually is ok for our building, talk less of having them all together.

I guess for this project, you are the architect, builder and engineer ? So who indeendently checks the integrity of the structure ?
How many board is the foundation, is it 6 or 7 ?
With the sandy nature of the soil, how can one reduce the settlement of the building and what has been done to strengthen the foundation on such a shaky/loose terrain ?

I had a recent bad experience with a 2004 Honda pilot, the transmission just literally died. It turned out that its a common problem with the Pilot. I am looking at other alternatives and I note that the highlander whilst reliable from what I gather, may not really suite my taste. The RX on the other side is a bit better, just notice its rather expensive.

I don't know much about the Acura MDX, I know its Honda that make it but I am not sure if this is a car that is suitable for Nigeria (parts, servicing, general mechanic stuff)

Anyone know other Jeeps below 2005 that may be well suited to Nigeria. I look forward to hearing from you all.

What are the advantages of having septic tank on the surface ?
Also how does that work for toilets on the ground floor and even upstairs, traditionally when soak away is buried underground, gravity ensures that the waste doesn't rise up in the pipes.

Just one question, the decking iron rods, what sizes are they ? It looks like a 14 or 16mm.

I have one question for you, if a builder recomends say 16mm for the decking, can the owner opt for say 18mm ?

Also for the foundation, if the builder recomends 16mm, can i choose 18mm as long as I'm paying for it ?

Hajj, this oga Brabus is one smart dude! He did this to confuse the omo onile. They've been troubling us to pay another N150k for the decking. By making the parapet(spelling) he totally threw the omo onile into confusion. They are now wondering if the decking is just for some kind of massive water tank on top of a bungalow or if they should just go ahead and ask for roofing money!? I wish governor Fashola will do something about this.

I do nto understand, how will this confuse them. Will they not simply see another ploor on top of the decking and a roof at some point in time ?
