Christianity EtcRe: Mistreating 'Possessed' Children In God's Name by Babalegba(m): 12:46am On Dec 15, 2007
This branding of innocent children as witches and exposing them to murder and torture is done principally to extort money from the parents cry cry cry The practice is completely barbaric and unacceptable to any half decent human being.

No true preacher would ask for money upfront for deliverance. What those preachers are practising should be termed Mammonism and because a lot of the people are pretend christians they fail to see the harm being done to the children and to Nigerias future.

If anybody has the email address of the christian association of Nigeria ,please post it here so that we can all send our complaints to them by email then they might be able to curb these excesses, abuse of trust and the love of money that has blinded a significant number of the pentecostal movements leaders.

It is diabolical that Nigerians have allowed children to be maltreated to this extent in the name of a religion whose founder specifically stated that he loves children and that they should not be harmed. We should all make a complaint to the church leaders.

By the way people should not bother misquoting that passage about "touch not my annointed" in this thread. That passage is always used to deflect constructive criticism and ward away embarrasment, anyway annointed people should not go about doing things that even unbelievers find sickening.
Christianity EtcChildren Are Victims Of Nigerian 419 Churches by Babalegba(op): 12:28am On Dec 11, 2007
I read with great sorrow the evils being perpetrated by the Nigerian 419 churches on Nigerian children cry

A lot of the churches are telling parents that their kids are witches and then demanding money to cure them of witchcraft. The kids are then maltreated by their parents because of these baseless accusations that were made by these ravenous wolves in sheeps clothing, sorry, i meant to say preachers.

Some of the children were killed, some had big nails driven into their head by their parents to kill them sad Some were disfigured with acid and many were matcheted. It is very sad that the parents do not apply common sense, for example, if the kids are indeed witches as claimed by this unscrupulous mammon worshipping preachers , how come the kids do not defend themselves with their witchcraft afterall survival is a primary law of nature. The second point is even more disturbing, this nation of pretend worshippers do not even realize that those kind of services should be provided free by the church when they are really needed.

By the way i'm christian so this is not christian bashing,if anybody has the email address and the physical address of CAN ,the christian association of Nigeria please P.M me or post it so i can send them a very strong complaint and i would advise everybody else to do the same ,that way the affected kids could be helped. The article is here:

EducationRe: Online Shopping: Nigeria Missing From Paypal Site by Babalegba(m): 11:13pm On Dec 10, 2007
Paypal does not do business with Nigeria because of the high incidence of fraudulent activities associated with the country embarassed

You could get somebody that you trust from abroad to do your transactions for you and hope that Nigerians curb their greed enough to be allowed back by paypal and also sit with the rest of humanity without suspicious glances being cast at them.

Typical,  huh Nigerians will always  respect and lie prostrate before any rich, corrupt, selfish, ruthless squirrelling crooked little slowpoke no matter what the individual has done to hurt his national economy and humanity in general to get the money. Shame

I do hope that the guys soul will rest in  perfect peace.
It is completely sad that despite all the education that has been drilled into Nigerians by the government,  teachers and lecturers that people still persist in believing all  sorts of mumbo jumbo in Nigeria. Of course a white man will resist the felling of trees but it is only for environmental reasons tongue
When are we really going to join the civilized world huh
TV/MoviesRe: Nollywood And Animal Cruelty by Babalegba(m): 6:48am On Jan 09, 2007
Ndipe:
Some of you guys are quite funny. What is the difference between killing a dog by strangulation and killing a cattle with a knife? Are they not the same? Someone might advocate for a 'humane' killing, but seriously, what is the difference between 'humane' killing and killing a dog by force? And the same people who come in here and advocate for animal rights, I suspect, are not even vegetarians.

So, what is the next agenda? That humans should not consume plants/vegetables, because they are living things? Why is PETA not calling for the total ban for the consumption of fruits and vegetables, being that, they also have life? Oh, I see, PETA is against humans eating animals, and as such eschew eating meat, in favor of consuming vegetables, when these plants are also living things.

Hypocrisy!!!
The problem is that strangling a dog for an hour is callous and an act of wanton unnecessary wickedness, i think that until Nigerians recognize that being more humane to animals will encourage them to behave better towards other humans then they will continue to have problems in the social, political and and economic sphere of life.
In the U.K it is not an offence to kill animals but it is an offence to cause an animal needless suffering in killing it and i would say that strangulating a dog for one hour is causing needless suffering to a helpless creature.
If we dont get this then we will spend forever playing catchup with the rest of the world because callousness will be evident in our dealings with each other for example i read in a paper last year that the money allocated for drugs for H.I.V. positive people was embezzled in one of the delta states last year.
I see nothing wrong with eating meat but i do object to someone causing needless suffering,it is sadistic, barbarous and it dehumanizes the person.

Hi all,
this is my first post here although i lurk here everyday.I do feel that the callous way with which Nigerians treat animals ought to be tackled because in doing so they would be able to treat human beings better.
I was at the sun's news site yesterday and read an article, link below
http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/news/abujareports/2007/jan/08/abujaroport-08-01-2007-001.htm

I was completely horrified when i got to paragraph fifteen where the man was describing his process of killing a dog for food,to paraphrase him,he said that they garotte the dog to death and that it could take an hour for the dog to die of strangulation.
Now just what kind of humans would strangulate "anything" for an hour in order to kill it.It completely beggars belief in a civilized country.I am not really against the man for selling dogmeat but the cruelty of their strangulation is mind boggling and if Nigerians dont reject this kind of cruelty then you would always see people being set on fire for stealing Maggi cubes and what not.
It is the same callousness and cruel behaviour that embolden Nigerian office holders to embezzle public funds and therefore make life intolerable for the masses.By curbing cruelty to animals Nigerians will be able to extend goodwill to their fellow humanbeings and there will be a better live all round for everybody. If you cannot be cruel to an animal then you will find it more difficult to be cruel to a human being.
Nigeria has become a country where fiftyman robbery gangs roam about killing, raping and maiming with impunity. That is part of the reward of a society that tolerates cruelty.
