Yes because of bad roads that causes one to stay in long hours of traffic. Also because in Lagos most people have to travel far to their place of work. So they try to get the fastest means of transportation.

I bet you own your own car that is why you can write it. If you stood at the bus stop for hours on your way to work you wouldn't write all these.

How to regulate it. Opay, Gokada, Maxx etc are worse than the regular Okada drivers, they also don't obey any traffic rules, drive on walkways, form additional lanes on the road, scratch people's cars and run away..No amount of regulations will prevent anything.

What do we really want in this country, development or stagnation or moving round the vicious circle? Okada/tricycle business has turned Lagos into a jungle city. Only Nigeria and Cotonou use Okada as a means of transportation. No sane country of the world we are dreaming of use Okada as a means of transportation. We need tough decisions like this to enable us achieve our dreams.

The Lagos State Government has announced the ban of tricycle (Keke)and motorbikes (AKA Okada), including ORide, Gokada and MAXOkada.

In total, out of the 37 local government areas in Lagos State, bikes and tricycles have been restricted from operating in 22 local government areas.

Imagine the number of people render jobless by this ban,people that feed their families with daily income from this bike/keke business, people who train their children in universities and pay house rent.

The government should provide jobs for this people so that crime rate won't increase,because It's said that idle hands are the devil's workshop. If care is not taking Lagos state will bear the tag of "Sin City".

PDP is known for anti development. Okada/tricycle could be a popular view but unfortunately it is anti development, and it portends great danger in very near future with fulanis loading trucks load of Okada to Lagos/SW. Only good motorable roads which the government is doing is the only alternative. We used to walk long distances before the advent of lazy Okada business in Lagos. Okada biz has turned Lagos into a jungle city. Opay, gokada etc are not different, they don't obey traffic light, they form additional lane, they ride also on the walkway. Government should ban them all outright.

Though i'm not in support of the government taking away the source of survival from the bikes and keke drivers without first offering them an alternative,but i think this is a good development.
Too much tricycle and bikes runing around in a city constitute trash and pollution which further encourages insects,pests, mice, rats, pigeons, and flies all thriving Off of decomposing garbage.

Real facts have emerged that the Supreme Court failed to do a thorough mathematical computation of the results of the election but relied only on the wrong computations submitted by Sen. Hope Uzodinma to declare him the duly-elected governor of Imo State.

It should be recalled that at the state’s Governorship Election Tribunal, Sen. Uzodinma had from pages 9 to 27 of his petition drawn up table of votes allocation which he claimed were the figures obtained from the duplicate copies of Forms EC8A handed over to his party agents at the 388 polling units where he claimed results were excluded from the overall result of the election.

From the table he compiled, there were 252,452 registered voters, who gave the APC 213,695 votes and 1,903 t o Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, the governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The table did not indicate the total number of accredited voters, nor the number of invalid votes and the votes allocated to the remaining 68 candidates that contested the election.
However, an analysis of the duplicate Forms EC8A tendered by PW54, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Rabiu Hussein, there were no fewer than six polling units where more votes were recorded over the registered voters.

For instance, on figure number 69 which indicated votes cast at Eziama/Okpala (Umualum Village Square, Eziama), the total registered voters was 492, whereas the table showed that the APC scored 819 votes and PDP, 7 votes, giving a total of 334 votes more than the registered voters, without including the votes allegedly polled by the other candidates at the election.

Also, at page 22 of the petition on polling unit 282, the registered voters was 591, whereas the tabulation showed that APC polled 586 votes and PDP 9 votes, with a total of 4 votes more than the total registered voters, not including votes scored by the other candidates.

Similarly, at the same page 22 of the record, polling unit 285 (Obudi/Aro, Central Assembly Square, Unusable 11) with 449 registered voters, APC was credited with 780 votes and PDP with 4 votes, providing a total of 335 votes above the actual total registered voters at the unit.
