PoliticsRe: Yar'adua Invites Britain To Reorganise Nigerian Police by babasin(m): 7:02pm On Dec 11, 2007
In fact, this is one of the main reason why MAMAJAMA is absolutely against this bright strategy
bright strategy?

If all Yaradau can come up with is to invite 'british police' and you call it bright strategy:

No point discussing further with you.
TravelRe: The UK Is Just Like Nigeria? by babasin(m): 5:14pm On Dec 11, 2007
Why? I have read so many denigrating comments on this board and I sincerely want to know why because most of the reasons people give are so shallow.
UK is not better than Lagos.

in summer; the tube is 39sitting and 99standing.

all sweating like pigs.

the briticos even advice me against the tube. I did once, it broken down and we had to walk in the hot tunnel. terrible

Folks in general will be hesitant not to do the right thing; therefore, bravo goes to Okiro/ Yar'Adua to be courageous enough to come up with this magnificent strategy.
Now you are sounding like Politicians.

anyway, as I said. Nigeria Police knows armed robbers. This is a fact. They dont need any training for this.

They smoke 'igbo' together.

They interact every day

The thief settle the Police.

It is only those 'robbers' that do not settle that are caught.

Did british trainned Nigeria Police before they caught Anene; the famous Benin Robber? NO
PoliticsRe: Yar'adua Invites Britain To Reorganise Nigerian Police by babasin(m): 4:14pm On Dec 11, 2007
It is very important to understand the concept of the move; you should take a time out and learn more about the project.
In normal situation, above is what you do.

But you also have to look at past to estimate the future.
PoliticsRe: Yar'adua Invites Britain To Reorganise Nigerian Police by babasin(m): 4:02pm On Dec 11, 2007
what exactly do you think the Britain are coming to Nigeria to teach the Nigerian Police"?
Look, British Police can teach them many things but the moment they go back. Things we remain as it was.

We need to revamp Nigeria.

Example:
The Nigeria Police head-office: Louise Edet House in Abuja is very modern

2months after it was completed in 2000 and handed-over; all the finger print machines was broken cos different parts stolen.
Reason:
The small boy will do their own once the Big Boys are stealing their own. It is plain answer.
PoliticsRe: Yar'adua Invites Britain To Reorganise Nigerian Police by babasin(m): 3:47pm On Dec 11, 2007
If left to do what they want, many will choose wrong paths but if you train them to follow the right path
what is the right path in Nigeria??

Corruption, loot public money.

so why would the Police men be different.

OBJ had N20,000 in 1999 now his farm is making $250,000 every month.

You think any Policeman would not get his own 'motivation' as which way possible?
PoliticsRe: Yar'adua Invites Britain To Reorganise Nigerian Police by babasin(m): 3:20pm On Dec 11, 2007
Enough of the gibberish talk, what is your recommendation?
It makes absolutely no sense to continue to point out problems and problems and problems with zero strategy to effectively tackle these problems.
Solution: Total Revamp of Nigeria.

This gotta start from the 'Head'

Excellent training, good incentives and benefits and you will see many of them rise up to do the job as they ought to
Look, Nigeria Police knows all 'armed robbers' and their hide-outs, they smoke 'igbo' together, they even exchange guns.

If they want to find a thief, they will. They are just not motivated; MONEY,. They have no reason to do so. simple.
PoliticsRe: Yar'adua Invites Britain To Reorganise Nigerian Police by babasin(m): 9:36am On Dec 11, 2007
Just sending all the police men back to school so they can become better police men??
sadly, this is not there motivation.

The key 'motivation' is money, more money.

Nigeria Police is not the problem. They are not from Mars. They are a mirror of Nigeria Society.
PoliticsRe: Would You Like A Us Military Base Hq In Nigeria by babasin(m): 9:22am On Dec 11, 2007
They should rather establish 'Silicon Valley' in Niger Delta
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Police: Extremely Deadly by babasin(m): 9:21am On Dec 11, 2007
thats why you should always keep some 'change' for the Police when you are in Nigeria.
PoliticsRe: Yoruba As Official Language Of Lagos House Of Assembly! by babasin(m): 7:03pm On Dec 06, 2007
These people want to start what they cannot finish. Very soon my main guys will in turn declare that since majority of Abuja indigenes speak Hausa, then that should be the official language of the National Assembly.
here we go again. abuja is not a state! it FCT. they have no state assembly.

So what about those Lagosians that are Ilaje? Will their representatives be speaking Ilaje or Yoruba?
simple: they learn to speak Yoruba, get interpreter or go read preceedings available in english!

You all keeping missing basic point: whatever the outcome of the house in Yoruba. It must be translated to 'english'; official Nigeria language.

"THERE IS NO BASIS FOR UNITY, HOW CAN FEEL LIKE A STRANGER IN HIS COUNTRY JUST BE/COS HE LEFT HIS STATE TO LIVE IN ANOTHER STATE."
we dont need to be united but rather, we should be happy wherever we are!

The key to be happy anywhere is integration into that community. And key to integration is learn the language!

Infact, I lived right in the heart of Ikorodu and will be heading back in a couple of weeks, still no desire to do such. Sorry, not all persons are the same and we do not all think or act alike
dont try to be a saint. its not against you. its just way nigeria is.

it needs total revamp.

AM READING THIS POST WITH UTTER DISMAY. THE SAME YORUBA THAT REFUSED THE DISINTEGRATION OF NIGERIA ARE NOW SEWING HE SEED OF DISGUST.You YORUBAS R KNOWN FOR DRUMMING WAR SONGS ONLY TO WITHDRAW WHEN IT'S TIME FOR WAR. AWO CONFIRMED THIS BY BETRAYING OJUKWU. AM A FULL BLOODED IGBO MAN IF You WANNA KNOW. THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTION FOR ONE NIGERIA. I THINK WE SHOULD FACE CRITICAL ISSUES LIKE DEVELOPING OUR COUNTRY, FIGHTING CORRUPTION, HOLDING OUR POLITICANS ACCOUNTABLE AND STOP THIS ETHONCENTISM. ALLN WE DO IS TO DIVIDE NIGERIA WITH TRIBE AND RELIGON
there you go! each state is free to do whatever they like. let ABIA pass their own law. nobody cares.

That s African democracy,,,, the real democracy is NOT de the rule of the majority rather a system where every ones voice is heard before reaching a compromise,,, in some cases, the minority wins
Minority wins? Nice one. I wonder why Gore was not allowed to be US-president.

foolish arguments are not permitted on this forum. That you speak yoruba better than english does not give room for injustice and tribalism
if there are enough people in state house assembly to pass it and is within their power. so be it. thats democracy.

if enough people in ABA, KANO, ENUGU etc whereever also pass their own law, so be it.

if you dont like it, get out, nobody forces anyone. Nigeria is big enough for everyone.

PoliticsRe: Yoruba As Official Language Of Lagos House Of Assembly! by babasin(m): 6:28pm On Dec 05, 2007
They might as well pass a law that Yoruba be the only language spoken in the state.
While at it, the school set books be all translated to Yoruba. abi
if its within their capacity and enough people to pass it into LAW. so be it.

The rst of the world is moving toward Engish as a universal language, not because of any political push, but because of the natural evolution of the Internet as the universal means of communication.
there you go. see different languages on your computer.

Have our people become so stupid that deliberating in Yoruba is the lattest nouvelle idea our able legislators can bring to the diseased table.
go back and do studies on it. people using their mother language develops better than those existing on borrowed languages.

PoliticsRe: Yoruba As Official Language Of Lagos House Of Assembly! by babasin(m): 5:09pm On Dec 05, 2007
I have read all your post and u havent sounded historical a bit and u want me to read my history books? God damnit i aint a historian but i know history plainly. i dnt have to qoute years, use your common sense and conscience to think. u are just too tribalistic, "Yoruba" men like you are getting the big chunk in managerial positions in oil companies particularly The one at Eket . why? because they have your like mind. all u can say is "members will pass the law" and "go read your history books), someone like u would say Yoruba's have contributed more quota to Nigeria apart from any other tribe.
Show us how good u are in history and tell us how Lagos is a Yoruba State.

PoliticsRe: Yoruba As Official Language Of Lagos House Of Assembly! by babasin(m): 4:53pm On Dec 05, 2007
But if such an exclusive law is going to be passed in a state that is as diverse as Lagos then I am all for similar laws to be passed in other parts of Nigeria especially in the oil money making parts of the country
save your ranting.

any state in nigeria can pass whatever in their capacity so long there is enough people in the house to pass it.
PoliticsRe: Yoruba As Official Language Of Lagos House Of Assembly! by babasin(m): 4:51pm On Dec 05, 2007
Now babasin show me the birth certificate of Lagos. show me the "Yoruba" man that gave it the name Lagos. We are talking about post colonial Nigeria in reality, a republic with a constitution, so we suppose act with common sense. Lagos is not a Yoruba State or Land or whatsoever. Ever since Nigeria came into being , tribes particularly Ibos and South South have developed Lagos, so you can't tell me that the food you eat came from one "Yoruba" farmer that tilled "the Yoruba Land" alone. It is wrong to make yoruba the official language of the house of assembly in Lagos as it is to make Bini the official language of the house of assembly in Edo state. F"ck these tribalistic sentiments ,when we r supposed to accredit all efforts equally among ourselves, now tell me its the Yoruba's that have sustained Lagos up till today, swear and tell me.
No point discussing further with you. Go back and read your history!

PoliticsRe: Yoruba As Official Language Of Lagos House Of Assembly! by babasin(m): 3:35pm On Dec 05, 2007
Ok. These are the things the Niger Delta States wants:

1. No communication on oil exploitation/expolration in any locality should be in English. It must be in the local dialect of the area. For example, if you're in the Ogoni area, you must speak Ogoni language in order for you to have access to the oil wells. If you're in Urhobo terrain, you must speak Urhobo before you can open any oil/gas tap in the area.

2. No oil should be taken from any of the Niger Delta lands without the consent of the local people of the area. All proceeds from oil/gas sales from any area must be accounted for and brought before the local council for due deliberation on how it must be shared.

I believe I'm speaking the mind of my Niger Delta brothers, rite?
Good for them so long they can get their state house assembly to pass it.

Are the Yoruba oil managers in the Delta should also move back to their indigenous lands then. Further more all Nigerians living outside Nigeria should also move back to Nigeria, Hows that for progressive thinking? *note sarcasm*
Lagos law makers did not ask anyone to move away from Lagos. They simply want to speak their mother language in their assembly!

No point discussing further with you.

TRAIN anyone would be to get the person motivated
I see you are not-in-tune with Nigeria.

Training for naija is to make money not to be motivated

Motivation for naija is money, more power.
