A review of the total deposit position of the Bank month on month reveals that the Bank is running short of its planned monthly deposit target.



The negative variance in our deposit position is attributed to the fact that staff are not marketing our various deposit liability products and thus not meeting their targets. In addition, some account officers do not exert proper relationship management skills with their customers. As such, most accounts under their management do not witness any activity for months and some become dormant after six (6) months.



To engender a consistent and sustainable growth in our bank wide deposit position, the following will now apply effective January 2, 2007:



v For every month that staff (service or marketing ) does not achieve up to 60% of monthly deposit target, staff will be debited as follows:

1st Month: N5, 000.00 (marketer); N2, 500.00(service staff)

2nd Month N10, 000.00 ,, ; N5, 000.00 ,,

3rd Month N15, 000.00 ,, ; N7, 500.00 ,,



Thereafter, staff will be sent on suspension.



v Any non-borrowing current account that records no activity in a month, the account officer(marketing officer) will be debited N1, 000.00 (One Thousand naira only) per a/c

v If the a/c is not tagged to an a/c officer, the Branch head / GE will be debited as appropriate

v For Dormant accounts the following will apply: Marketing officer that allows an a/c being managed by him/her to go dormant will be debited N10, 000.00 (Ten Thousand naira only) monthly until the account is re-activated.

v If the a/c is not tagged to an a/c officer, the Branch head / GE will be debited as appropriate, except in cases where it is proven beyond reasonable doubt that the customer cannot be remarketed.e.g Death, relocation etc.

v For regions where more than 50% of staff are sanctioned on deposit related matters, the RBEs will each be debited N10, 000.00 (Ten Thousand naira only) monthly.

v After the 3 rd month, the RCEs will be debited N20, 000.00 (Twenty Thousand naira only).

Mr. Ribadu spent almost 2 months travelling all over the world announcing that all our leaders are thieves. He wanted the whole world to help Nigeria fight corruption as if the world don't have their own corruption problem.

If you recalled. There were allegation Ehindero sold his old house to Ribadu. Till date no one can prove Ehindero even ought the old DIG quarters.

On your second question, no country in the world is waiting for black people to give jobs to, not even any of the big three of US, Canada, UK.
The logic is: as a black man and a Nigerian for that matter, wherever you are, you have to beat the odds to succeed.

The people from baltics are doing shitty jobs in western Europe simply because the pay in the west is much better. Anywhere there is better pay people will move, thats why there are still loads of Europeans and Americans in the Niger Delta doing shitty jobs despite all the kidnappings.

If violent racism was a huge problem for blacks in the baltics, they wouldn't have easily joined the EU or schegen area. Besides, pay a visit to Germany and learn more about racism.I think it is very pronounced there.

Furthermore, Pleeeeeaaase. . . there are blacks in jails in every country and we all know the reason- wrong choices like selling drugs, fraud, etc. Any country that doesn't put criminals in jails would have problems. I know lots of blacks that were in jails in Europe and they never claimed innocence.

Finally, Babasin, beautiful as the Cameron Highlands may be, and tasty as the tea may feel, I don't think I would still recommend it and other Asiatics over studying in Europe.

As the Economic and Financial Crimes Com-mission (EFCC) continues investigation into the N3.5 billion contract scandal involving Iyabo Obas-anjo, the daughter of the former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, more revelations have emerged over the Toyota 4x4 vehicle which she was said to have been given as inducement.
Investigations revealed that the idea to offer the vehicle as bribe was hitherto turned down by a Director of Vamed Engineering Nigeria Limited, Mr. Helmut Dietrich when the idea was sold to him allegedly by one Albert.
Sources said Helmut quickly wrote back to the said Albert wherein he said that the company should not offer any bribe to facilitate a contract with the government.
The note reads: “Dear Albert, sorry, but we are not in position to satisfy this request. We have many obligations to fulfill along with the project,” advising that public relations should be his (Albert) issue to deal with. But despite Helmut’s objection, Albert went ahead with the deal, the source said.
Details of the purchase showed that a quotation /proforma invoice was sent to Mrs. Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello by Elizade Nigeria Limited, indicating a unit price of a Toyota Landcruiser with alloy wheel side step at N11, 200,000.00.
The Landcruiser came with a petrol engine, automatic transmission, leather seats, power steering, central lock, wood finish, A/C, cool box, airbags, sun proof, double extra tyre, and a radio cassette and CD player,
Subsequently, Union Bank drafts for N11,660, 000.00 with numbers 00008445, 032080386, 3879005190 issued by the UAC building branch of the bank in Abuja was used to buy the vehicle alleged to be a bribe for contract.
The vehicle, a Toyota Landcruiser VX AHC ACP with Engine No. 2UZ-9151608 and Chasis no. JTEHTO5J302086528 was delivered via a letter signed by Elizade’s Assistant Manager in charge of delivery, Tunde Fagbolagun on November 25 2005.
The letter reads: “This is to inform you that custom duty has been paid on the above-mentioned vehicle sold to Dr. Iyabo Obasanjo, 383, Agege Motor Road, Mushin, Lagos. The duty certificate is being prepared by the department of custom and excise and as soon as this is issued, it will be forwarded to you.
“Meanwhile, we shall be grateful if you can issue a license to enable them put this vehicle on the road. We thank you for your co-operation on this matter.”
Ms Obasanjo, who is the senator representing Ogun Central senatorial district was recently named in a controversy surrounding a N3.5 billion contract scandal currently before the International Court of Arbitration in Paris.
Her business partner, M. Schneider, an Austrian company, had petitioned the presidency and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EF-CC) complaining about what it called the “fraudulent, corrupt and criminal nature involving Senator (Mrs.) Iyabo Obasanjo- Bello (alias Mrs. Damilola Akinlawon), then serving as a commissioner with the Ogun State Gover-nment.”
The Austrian company alleged Iyabo Obasanjo “fraudulently” presented herself as Mrs Damilola Akinlawon while entering into a contractual agreement with it to float a company which bid for contracts in the power projects embarked upon by the government headed by her father, President Obasanjo.
In the petition dated August 30 2007 and copied to other anti-corruption agencies like the ICPC, Code of Conduct Bureau and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics, M. Schneider of Austria alleged that Iyabo Obasanjo concealed her identity and presented herself as Mrs. Damilola Akinlawon with the “sole consideration of shielding her father, former President of Nigeria, from being perceived as having breached relevant laws in the award of power projects indirectly to his daughter.”
The company pleaded with the anti-corruption agencies to investigate the case with a view to ascertaining whether Nigeria ’s laws were broken by Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello “acting either for herself or on behalf of the then President.”

How can they compensate a dead girl? Come to think of it, it's possible - name a street after her, give her a posthumous award, etc., but highly unlikely.

If the President thinks that he can no longer tolerate the man he should muster the courage to simply say so and leave Nigerians to make up their minds about his obvious lack of seriousness on the war against corruption. Those arguing that Mr Ribadu is not dispensable miss the point completely. If he were indispensable his name would have been written in the EFCC law. The point is that it is illegal to interfere with a fixed tenure under the guise of granting a gratuitous and unsolicited study leave. Very soon if this clear nonsense is not reversed we would enter the era of asking Governors to proceed on study leave. Of course, that would be an absolute illegality just as in the case of Mr Ribadu.

As for the rape of the teenager by the Soldiers, it is highly inexcusable and i'm glad the perpetrators are being brought to book

I have learnt to use my Intercontinental ATM card only at their Head Quarters to avoid problem but its sad.

If you watch the US media, you'll think 419/AFF costs the US economy 10 times that of identity theft.

To be honest right now, I will celebrate if the TRIBUNAL annulls Yaradua's election.
Having a re-election is worth it at whatever cost. That is the only way out of this.

There is possibility that EFCC will remain, but their policy will be restructured. Instead of making EFCC a one man show, it will be re-implemented as an entity that embraces equality and respects human rights.
