Russian President Vladimir Putin has been named as Time Magazine's "Person of the Year".
The title was awarded to Mr Putin for his "extraordinary feat of leadership" in bringing stability to Russia, said Time's managing editor.

The title is "not an honour", but is given as "a clear-eyed recognition of the world as it is and of the most powerful individuals and forces shaping that world - for better or for worse", according to the magazine.

America has been training Nigerian soldiers, infact, African soldiers for a long time now. They have been doing exactly the same thing that statement there from the article says Yar adua requested they do, for a long time now. For him to come in to make it seem he is the first to ask for it to happen is ridiculous. I have friends in the army who have been to Nigeria to train Nigerian soldiers long before Yar adua even dreamt of taken the seat in that country.
