WES usually sends soft and hard copy, so the school can respond by replying to WES email and also by courier. cutiep: This won't work, it has to be sent from the registered email address of the school. |

Someone helped with my process so I might not be able to state the exact amount but this is the process as summarised by the person that assisted me: Process and Requirements 1)Visit NECO office in Illupeju, Lagos. Go with a photocopy of your NECO Certificate and possibly the WES academic Request form (I don't think this form is necessary but I gave a completed form to the person that assisted me) 2)You will be given a remita account number to make a deposit of about N1,500 in a selected bank 3)Then you would be required to pay another N20,000 plus (Not sure exactly what the breakdown is for but it includes Courier to WES, Postage to Minna and NECO Scratch card). 4) NECO will first send the information to Minna (their head office), afterwards forward the transcript to WES Please ensure that they inscribe your WES Reference number on the envelope and also get the tracking number for the courier. Concate: Hello,
I wish to use WES for my evaluation and I need to submit my NECO transcript, could you please assist with the process, requirements and the phone number of your contact person at NECO office.
Will really appreciate your help.
Thanks |

Okay. Thank you for the feedback. ytp: I don’t think there is a problem. I received a courier from WES Canada and it originated from New York. |

Hello Everyone,
Pre-ITA clarification
NECO has supposedly sent my transcript to WES, however when i used the tracking number forwarded to me by NECO to trace my transcript, i realized that the destination was New York and my document has been delivered and signed for by: M GUMBS
P.S I filled out the Academic request form provided by WES correctly and submitted same to NECO and the SMS received from NECO specified that the tracking number was for Canada.
Has anyone experienced this too? |

Congratulations to the PPR clinchers may Canada be very favourable to you and to the ITA recipents, may your journey to receiving your PPRs be very smooth and short.

Do not give up now. Consider changing your strategy, maybe look for a study partner or someone to assist if you experience any difficulty while practicing. God will show up and show out for you. Keep the faith and continue pushing to achieve your desired result. Erigo23: Guys this is my first time writing I’m so broken inside I don’t even know what to do again. Writing ielts for the 3rd time and still not making it is devastating. especially for the fact that I’m unemployed and I have to save the money everytime on my own. It’s really devastating. 1st try with BC. LRWS- 8.5, 6.5,7,8.5 2nd try with IDP LRWS- 7.5,8.0,6.5,8.5 3rd try with IDP LRWS: 8.5,6.5,6.5,8.5 This is demoralizing I have done my ECA since August just waiting on this IELTS and now I was really hoping this would be the last time but I can’t believe I have to continue this again next year. I prayed and prayed and I studied and studied still nothing. This is almost 300k wasted. Having to watch my friends that I even told about the program move on and get PPR and I’m still stuck here. lemme just stop typing I’ve been crying since morning. |

I will answer your second part
NECO will have to send your transcript to WES. You need to go to NECO Office in Lagos, if you live in Lagos. You will be told the process to follow.
quote author=jrapheal post=73638895]hello house, please dont get tired of our amateur questions o. lol #newcomer
i am trying to send my transcript from my school to WES, my school is asking for extra payment for courier service...that is not even the problem, my question is... since my school is sending my transcript from their own end and i am sending the photocopies of my credentials on my own from my own end, i hope it wouldnt disrupt the evaluation process since my documents will get to them on separate dates via different courier service.
secondly, about NECO, am i just going to send my NECO certificate alongside the Neco scratch cards or there is a special NECO Document that will be sent from NECO office to WES just like the transcript.[/quote] |

Just to clarify, I believe the salient words are 'denied' and 'refused. In this context, when someone is denied/refused a visa do they mean the same thing? This term confuses me oh. Can someone please throw more light on this? Thank you phemmy26: Well let me give you my own scenario...i have both been denied student visa once and a visiting visa once.
Now the first one asked if you have been denied an immigrant visa, permanent visa, visitor visa or temporary visa. I said Yes but i only included the explaination of the visitor visa as they didnt ask for student visa.
The second question asked if you have been refused a visa or a permit.....which means any type of visa and i also said yes but this time around i included explaination about both the student visa denial and the visitor visa denia.
I hope am right sha.. |

I think the status will change when they receive transcripts from your University(ies), WAEC/NECO and when there have sent out verification mails to your school(s). This has been my status too since 2nd week in November and they have received only copies of my certficates and are yet to receive transcripts from my school(s), eventhough i believe by now they should have received it as my school(s) have confirmed they sent it a week a ago. canadianxmas: Guys please, my profile on WES platform has been like the one on the screenshot for some time now, even though I have not submitted all the required documents.
This means I am unable to view status of documents they update on my behalf when received. I have contacted them severally but nothing was done to correct it.
If anyone had experienced this in time past, kindly let me know what you did differently to correct it |

Be hopeful!!! Keep busy and the 10 weeks will be herr in no time. God is your strength. Onaliaku: Nigeria schools can frustrate people.
I paid for ECA with ICES on the September 14th, meanwhile I have paid for my school to send my B.Sc transcript to ICES since August 21.
After frustrating my life, I paid for email and courier (I don't want any long story)the school finally sent the transcript on October 24th and ICES received the email immediately and then received the courier on November 7.
The 10 weeks waiting IS KILLING ME NOW, seeing that my school wasted a lot of time sending ordinary transcript. I am currently at 6weeks since email sent and 5 weeks since they received the courier and I'm depressed already.
please have any of you received your ECA from ICES recently? and how long did it take from when the received your transcript from your school? Help a sister her. |

Hi Cholesmum22, please can you point me in the direction of the process to make that request and how long did it take for WES to honour your request? Thank you. Chloesmum22: Yes I did that too. I asked WES to evaluate only the highest degree after I discovered I did not need the bachelor's degree. It was also a foreign degree and the evaluation came out after 3 weeks. |

Thank you. I would also explore that option of asking WES to drop the 1st degree. Thank you again. Ifeoma77: If money is not a problem, then technically, the answer is yes, you can do another ECA with ICES. But I feel that you're already almost done with WES. Give them some time. Alternatively, you can ask WES to drop the Nigerian degree. Access only the foreign one. |

Thank you so much for your swift response. Yes my birthday is in March and I would like to get into the pool and possibly get ITA before then so I don't loose points. Since its only one certificate, I can cough out the amount required for ICES. Thank yoy for the suggestion, someone is already on standby to assist me with the verification process (UNICAL) when WES requests for it, however WES hasn't even acknowledged receipt of my transcripts yet or even updated my dashboard. joo2018: Acceptable? Why not? You are submitting only one ECA. Should you? Depends on your budget and the urgency of your situation e.g. birthday. You can also name your 1st degree school here and see if someone can help with verification contact. |

Good evening Seniors, please I need your advice. PRE-ITA
I have alreday commenced my ECA with WES but when I started i didnt know i needed to asses my highest degree, so I submitted my 1st and 2nd degree for assesment. Meaning I had to do the whole WAEC/NECO verification which is yet to be completed.
However, I'm thinking of assessing only my 2nd degree which is from a foreign University with ICES, reason is I think I might complete that Assesment before WES evaluation is ready.
Please is it acceptable to carry out ECA with 2 different bodies? Do you think this Assesment with ICES is a smart move or I should wait for WES?
Please note my transcripts for my 1st and 2nd degree and NECO scratch card have been dispatched to WES already, however I have no tracking number to monitor the delivery process for the transcripts. So basically, its NECO transcript and verification of my degrees that is left but I feel uncertain about the turnaround time for WES, since my dashboard has not been updated since the 19th November.
Kindly advise.
Thank you. |

Most Universities will issue Student Copy of Transcript, when you request and state the purpose. bumiojo: I have been given a ITA under the provincial nominees. i will be required to upload my transcript in the Oasis portal. I was informed that the university only sends transcript to organisation and institutions and not individuals .how would I then be able to get a copy of the Transcript sent to myself for upload on the portal . pls i need responds ASAP |

babeakosua@gmail.com Thank you boco2126: On this IELTS issue...my two cents.
1. Stick to a FEW practice materials! The number of materials for IELTS that we see on a daily on this thread can be overwhelming. Try out only a few and stick to the one that resonates with you. Don't use ieltsliz, Jay, Cambridge, ieltsadvantage, road2ielts etc at the same time (some of these peope don't agree on the same approach and reading all can get really confusing). If you try one and it sits well with you, ditch others. Focus on that one and be a master of it. I almost got overwhelmed at some point, because l wanted to open every link or try every material l saw here. But l had to give myself brain oh.
2. Practise everyday. No excuses. Create the time. Even at work, you can use your lunch break to practise. Instead of listening to music or radio on your way to work, listen to your downloaded tips on writing, speaking, reading, listening. When walking down the streets, have an earpiece on (l hate this, but we can make sacrifices for one month abi?) and keep LISTENING. At weekends, practice speaking with your wife/husband, friend, son/daughter etc. Write out questions and tell them to ask you (under exam conditions). I finished a WHOLE 30 leaves notebook for listening practice (yeah l work an 8 to 5 and live on the mainland with my office on the island -remember, no excuses!). Always check your wrong answers and replay those portions and find out what you didn't hear properly. I used youtube for listening/speaking/reading.
3. There's this ielts expert too, one Ryan (cannot remember his surname) that l think is underrated. I used his tips for writing. He talks about 15 sentences max for writing. 3 paragraphs with 4 sentences and the closing paragraph should have 3 sentences. This keeps you in check and you already know what to write before the exam, all you will be waiting for on the ielts day is the topic given! I can share his materials if you drop your email address. For writing, write letter and essays! Don't read what someone else wrote. Write yours too. Some people practise writing by reading another's work -WRONG! write yours too and compare. Minimum letters to write on different topics - 10. Minimum essays - 20. Revise your work and look for better ways to reconstruct your sentences. I suggest you write with pencil on your exam day so you can erase if need be.
4. For reading - use youtube. It also has a timer, so practice using the time and don't stop the timer or pause the video. The easiest comprehension in reading are the first two. Spend less time there. Say 5 mins tops for each. You do not need to UNDERSTAND nada. Just look at the instructions (very important), then the questions, then scroll through the passages for the answers. You need all your time for the last two passages. They are more technical.
5. For speaking - Be confident, relaxed and know your basic english and introduction (see ieltsliz). See this as an interview. We all attend interviews don't we? I got a list of 42 likely cue cards from ieltsliz blog (l think she said they change it every 3 months but she always update the cue card questions) and l practiced the 42 different topics and l always set my two minutes timer with my phone. You can be in the BRT or your car and practice this one, or when walking down the street or whilst doing chores at home, or lying down in your bed doing nothing (l did this. Some days, people will think you are going crazy because you are talking to yourself, but...who no go no know). One of the 42 questions l practiced was my cue card during my speaking test -something on my pet animal (l was wondering "madam why me? Animal kwa?" but because l had practised earlier, the examiner had to cut me off when it was two minutes. I just went on and on.
4. Lastly and certainly not the least...the place of PRAYER. I'm catholic, so when l saw the prayer to St. Joseph of Cupertino here, l made a mental note to say it. I started saying it every day from September till i wrote my exam on the 1st of November. I even added a 9 days St. Joseph of Cupertino novena with prayer and fasting which ended on the 31st of October (l'm that extra oh. I left no chances). I asked my family to add me in their prayers too. So, pray, pray and pray. Whatever works for you. Someone dropped one St. prayer here on financial assistance for POF, best believe l'll look for that prayer and do it too!
5. People have done it, you too can. Don't be discouraged if you have tried more than once. We don't give up on this thread oh. Being here has taught me a different level of selflessness and never say never spirit. People you don't even know are quick to help and empathise and l am still in awe of you guys.
6. Please drop your email address so l can send the Ryan materials to you.
This too shall pass!
All the best everyone and my apologies for the long post. |
