@ML: welcome back hun and good to see you in a determined frame of mind! It's easy to give into the busyness of life and shelve fitness away. Also thanks for your advice re: the weight loss drops. Luckily my sister is quite focused so didnt need much persuading about the dangers of this...she just gave that a fleeting thought and moved on. She is pressing on with doing it the healthy way, watching her food portions and exercising regularly. @HG: hope you are ok luv? @Agaba : it's beginning to feel like the old days... nice workout. @oluite: trust you're doing good ![]() I feel like doing a roll call to some members of the house recently missing in action ![]() Ronky- hope all is cool? Monday 18th June Jillian Michael's Ripped in 30 - level 1 Hey house, hope everyone is doing ok? Well I have been supporting my sister who lives in Naija with her weight loss and exercise plan, assisting her in drawing up a healthy eating plan/workout schedule and encouraging her. So far so good. Though she has quite a bit to lose, like at least 30kg. She has been so determined about losing the weight and getting back fit. This weekend she told me she had been told about some wonder weight loss drug called' Hcg Ultra diet drops'. It's the first I'd heard about it. Just doing a quick google search brings up all manners of success stories with reported weight loss of up to 25 pounds in a month! And it appears there are no side effects..hm. She just wanted to check with me as obviously it sounds really tempting if you have a lot to lose. Well in the UK for now, it hasn't become popular and I doubt it will take off as it has in the US as apparently it has not been backed by the medical bodies, and here medical stuff is more tightly regulated. My sister is based in naija and I just wanted to find out if it has become popular there and your thoughts about this. I feel quite iffy and skeptical about this thing sha cos from what I read it is all about introducing hormones into your body.... ![]() |

Hour_Glass: met Agaba at the gym today and he took me through all sorts of strength training with weights I could not even imagine myself lifting. He was even afraid of me bulking up but I told him I won't.^^ did u really?? Anyway, well done on all your workouts. Motivating and inspiring ![]() I have now been cleared to continue with my exercising. I thank God for everything. Moving on. I hope everyone one else is doing ok? Have a great weekend. |
Sammiejo: Tae bo workouts are effective if you can get hold of them, also some are available on YouTube. The punches really help tone the arms and the kicks help tighten and tone your core. I found them so effective when shedding my pregnancy weight. My midriff had definition and I didn't even do sit ups. |
Thurs 31st May Tae bo 'celebrity get fit' - 45 mins Uche hope u start to feel better soon, I sure know how it feels not being at ones optimum health wise having being in such a situation recently. You shall overcome. Health is wealth indeed. I pray for speedy recovery for you. HG: wow, a 5k run soon, go girl! Ronky well done for not adding whilst on a break from working out ML and Modath, how far? Agaba hope you are doing gd, miss seeing your workouts sha. Fresh face, Echala hope you are ok? @HG: I dey o. Been thru a lot in the past weeks, will be back soon. |
[quote author=Hour_Glass]My Loooooorrrdddd!!! Why did you do that to me. It will get easier soon now, its ok dear. Its good you study your body and know what you want. *really wish someone will join me*. [/quote @HG: lol, needs must my girl. Monday 14th May Power walking - 35 mins How are you all doing? |
@Ronky: mehn well done o! Wowzers just reading your roll call of workouts for yesterday makes my thighs tremble 120 mountain climbers, 1000 skips etc - thats great stuff and a testament to your current fitness level. Be proud of yourself indeed, you are truly on your way to getting lean mean thighs of steel girl ![]() Rested today and plan the same for tomorrow. I should be back on the prog on Sunday. Wishing you all a grand weekend. |
Thursday 10th May Power walk- 60 mins Well done everyone! As per the push ups, I do them in sets not all at once haba! HG: we shall get there! |
Wed 9th May Ultimate Tae bo Lower Body - 45 mins Push ups - 32 @Gen B: great to see you posting, don't be a stranger, keep posting here and let us know how you are doing with the diet. @Ronky: good stuff with trying to reduce sugar intake. You might be experiencing 'withdrawal' symptoms to the lack of sugar. Your body will adjust and get used to it and your taste buds too. |
Tuesday 8th May Step Aerobics - 40 mins Push ups - 30 sets @HG: I'm there with you on the challenge o! Checked out the link and sounds good, so i started this morning doing 3 sets of 10. E no easy o, collapsed after doing 4 initially then had to take rests in between to complete the rest. Will see if I can do a few more this evening. @modath: I dey o, good to see you popping in - trust u r doing fine., you're like our fairy godmother here ![]() |
Sunday 6th May Jogging- 30 mins Monday 7th May Cathe HIIT workout - 30 mins Burnt coal: great to hear u r seeing some results, food issue can totally derail ur hard work if not addressed so glad u r aware of this. Self control is the main way and it has to be practiced at every food choice u make. Other tips like increasing your water intake ( aim for at least 2.5 ltrs daily) eating smaller portions of your fav meals ( self control also needed here) and filling your plate up with more veg can help. ML: I see u r easing ur way back nicely ![]() HG: good luck with the press up challenge, will check out the link, my upper body strength is not so good so cld do with incorporating push ups more into my routine, we'll c.. @all:wishing u a good week ahead. |
Friday 4th May Tae Bo 'Ultimate Lower Body' - 45 mins @ Modath: I'm similar stats with your cousin. When I lost weight last year I reached 61kg and I was alarming lots of people that I looked too thin etc (couldn't see it for myself but thats another story...), yet my BMI was just under 25... (I'm 5'4 too). I had to balance it out by hovering around 63/64kg mark to look 'healthy' and have nice curves yet my bmi at this level is 25/26 just bordering overweight - go figure . |
Thursday 3rd May JM Ripped In 30 - Level 4 Good work peeps ![]() @Ronky: I dey o, just keeping on trying to be consistent - its all good ![]() @ML: just checking on you dear, hope you are feeling better? |
Wed 2nd May Brisk walking/jogging intervals - 50 mins @Burntcoal: you need to adequately stretch your body after such a long run. Also I guess your body is not used to such strain on it. Running for 1 hour on your first run might have been a bit much tbh. You need to build up the running gradually so as to avoid injury (there is a couch to 5k programme if you google it, good prog for building up your running gradually). Have a rest day today to recover and do lots of stretches. Paracetamol/panadol should help with the aches. Take care. @FF: pls don't fall off the wagon at this obstacle. As Agaba said it's always difficult the second time round, trust me I've been there mate ..to get the motivation back you need to 'just do it'. There will always be excuses and all, but time will still pass and you would wish you had got back on earlier. I remember your motivation was your sons 1st birthday coming up, well you don't want all your hardwork to go unnoticed when you've been doing so well! |
Tuesday 1st May Cathe HIIT workout 3 - 30 mins Hour_Glass: @all, an expert (about.com) said "consistency = boring but I will still preach it because its the only thing that gives weight loss results".^ preach it! ![]() |
) - 64 reps (did them in sets of 8 with a minute rest in-between.)
