Echala: Hi yall,

Insanity has been insanely intense, but I stuck with it regardless. I have completed 8 days thus far. Unfortunately, I have a terrible case of shin splints, I have tried to continue with it, but the pain is too much to bear. My doctor advised me to take a two week break from any strenuous exercises, else I'll hurt myself more and I might require surgery. Two weeks? that's a terribly long time oooo sad I was already loving the way insanity made me feel. The isht is MAD ---- sweat dripping all over my living room floor when I'm done. I will take the Doctor's advice and take it easy -- wont be doing any exercises that exert stress on my legs.

This is not the kind of update I would have loved to give sad

@Echala: nevermind, though glad to hear you stuck with Insanity for as long as you did. Shame about the split shin, but it's wise to listen to your body and go with the doctors orders! The 2 weeks will pass. You might have to do a modified version of the workouts to avoid it happening again...

Over the weekend I to caught up with 2 friends who hadn't seen me for sometime. one of them i met on saturday exclaimed that I had lost too much weight etc.. And the other I saw on the sunday said I had become 'fat'! What gives mehn...smh people with their varying perceptions.. Can confuse a lass.. Well for now I'm going by how I feel in my clothes . Still some work to be done, still need to maintain.

Me self weak o, just dint know what was happening with the plantains, lol. I am quite careful if you take note of my logs with plantains (not more than 3). Anyways, yesterday was not too good for a start. But am quite berra today, I feel.

7:20am - 1 cup coffee + 1 sugar

7:45am - 3 Kisses Chocolate

12:30pm - 2 cups beans + 1 piece fish + 5 slice plantain.

8:00pm - 1 piece fish pepper soup + 3 tbsp rice + 4 slice plantain

9:00pm - 1 meatpie


^^Btw easy on the plantain o, I always knew they were high in calories but never realised how much until recently. There are aprox 65 cals per slice of plantain! shocked sad so I've had to demote my beloved plantain to the odd occasion as I can't just eat 1 or 2 slices only... undecided

@Echala- all the best with the Insanity program, can't wait to see your results. I've always thought about taking this challenge some day..I know it costs quite a bit, but the results speak for themselves. Do keep us posted with how you are getting on. can't wait to see your before/after pics!

@taitee- nice workout cool. Brown rice has the husks on it and shorter grains. Basically it's unrefined. more nutritious and it is an acquired taste! Your post also reminded me to soak some beans this morning to make some moi-moi later. Cheers grin its definitely a good choice if you have the munchies than loading up on carbs.
