Omo Alata: Special offer in Lidl today (if you live near a store). I bought a balance board and 5kg kettlebell^ As a matter of fact I was in my local Aldi ( a similar store to Lidl) last week and saw some kettle bells on special offer, I bought the 5kg one and trekked home carrying it as you have to pay for carrier bags there lol! It has been sitting in my cupboard for a week now so thank you for hitting us up with this kettlebell workout YouTube clip. Will give it a go! |
Mon Feb 11th Exercise: Brisk walk - 30 mins Food: B- porridge oats made with water, 1tsp peanut butter, 3 prunes, 1 tbsp milk L-sweet potato and onion soup(165 cals) with 1 slice of wholegrain rye bread D- 2 slices wholegrain rye bread with 1 boiled egg, little butter. Snacks - 3 low fat crackers, 1 slice of cake Drinks : 15 glasses water, 1 cup green tea, 1 cup of coffe with little milk. |
@ Simababe : many happy returns to you dear! @ omo alata: nice shredding work there ![]() A new week house, lets do this thing! |
@yinx: that's good you are breaking your daily fast with more protein than heavy carbs. There is a tendency when one fasts to break with heavy meals and try and catch up with all the meals missed in the day. One can easily eat over 1000 cals in the evening. At least you are nourishing both your soul and your body! Nice one with the water too, I'm trying to reach 3 ltrs daily and that is a challenge on its own. Take care x |
@HG: I'm fine thank you, still very much in the vehicle , doing my workouts with JM and stuff but got a bit lazy with posting here... Will try and take up my logs again. @ML: glad to hear things are going well with you and wish you a stress free delivery when the time comes, exciting! |
modath: We lost him today! So so sorry and saddened to read this dear Mody may God strengthen your family emotionally during this time xx |
Hm interesting points of view here regarding diet and weight loss. I'm firmly in the 'portion control' camp and don't believe in cutting out whole food groups to lose weight. They have their part to play in our diet. especially if you can switch to the wholegrain variety where possible (brown rice/ ofada, wholegrain bread etc). As long as you eat them in moderation because that is Real life, self control then I see no problem. Cutting out food groups to achieve weight loss can be a fast way to drop those kgs but not the way our bodies were designed to function. one has not learnt how to exercise self control and when you re-introduce these foods it's usually a downward spiral. I have friends who have done this totally cutting out carbs thing and they ended up putting back all the weight plus more. In general it's not sustainable unless you plan never to eat carbs again for the rest of your life, then that would be a different matter altogether. |
^^ amen o! Today was a real write off for me, it's like all the 'bad' food stuff came to meet me at home (via a friend) and there was no turning back. @ Mody: Yeah I'm game with the JM schedule.will post a sample plan for a week. I want to start on Monday God willing.. |

kkmny81: Good morning People.^^ eyah and you did some really nice cardio workouts with all that jogging. Shame about the amount of garri you took over the two days, whether taken in afternoon or evening, garri is always bad news and should be eaten in very tiny qty if at all. It's so calorific. Never mind, it's a new week, just go softly on the amount of carbs you consume this week to reign it back in. |
