@Zayhal

Salam

Would be waiting for you and Codebase responses with sound proof from Hadith and Quran and no 'I heard it from somewhere stuff'.

I would still be waiting for your fabricated Hadith and note that you must serve the chain of transmission as well.

In addition I wouldnt want an issue you would start without any additional knowledge or material to back it up because I remembered you and Codebase disagreeing with me on the issue of Zakat and read him using Abu Hanifa's statement that has nothing to do with the issue and I asked you questions on the stands on some scholars like Qaradawi and Co but you ignored that part.

Now, you must be able to tender proof and facts in order to justify yourself and I am still waiting for codebase as well for the question raised and I am sure you know TMC when it comes to Hadith and Sunnah, so set the ball rolling, am eager to learn from you and we enlighten each other more.

Remember, no ' I heard from somewhere'. I need facts from Hadith and Sunnah and particularly, Al-Banni's publication where you normally use and think that we don't use it.

@Huxley

I simply asked how to know if jinns are real.  Are they the same as 'alujonnu' ?  What are your grounds for say that such a being exists?
My good brother, Ife-eco-06 replied you here:

Alujonnu is just the Yoruba translation of the Qur'anic Jinn. They are one and same thing created by Allah. But due to unguided interpretation, the Yoruba description is slightly different from the Qur'anic description. The Yoruba just recognise that there are some invisible devilish forces called alujonnu, but the full description of their world is in the Qur'an and Hadeeth.
It's just like creation of  human being. The Yoruba explanation of creation is different from Islamic explanation, but both agree that God created humans.

I think you like to hear yourself speak jsut to convince yourself of most of your delusions.
What kind of delusion? Did you read my first post because I saw you asking what I have explained here again.

I always wondered how Haldol chases away these Jinn in Mental patients when they say God is talking to them and they are on some sort of mission?
It seems you never read my post and response towards you.

I am guessing the Jinn control the seratonin and dopamine producing parts of the brain.
Do they control your own part of the brain?

I read where you emboldened Olabowale's quotes below:
This part of the question was treated, earlier. The point is that the evil one told his community, in order to lead them away from the truth the above. But the believing Jinn know better, as they became believers.

The Jinns stealing Information from the Sky before the the Messenger was sent and striking Them with flaming Fire     after His Coming

THE DIVINE COURT OF JUSTICE

Summoning the First Man

Adam (AS) will be the first man to be called. The followinf conversation will ensue between him and Allah (swt)

Allah: (addressing all human beings) this is your father Adam

Allah: (addressing Adam) O Adam!Adam: (responding) Labayka wa sa 'dayka wal-khayr fii yadak (I respond to your call, I am obedient to you and all good are in your Hands)

Allah: Take out of your offsprings, the people of Hell.

Adam: O Lord, how many should I take?

Allah:
Take out nine hundred and ninety nine out of every one thousand.

Al-Hisaab (Accountability)

People will be asked to read their records of deeds. Thise who could not even read in the world will read on that day. Th records of deeds will be placed in every body's hands.

'And the book shall be placed, then you will see the guilty fearing from what is in it, and will say: ha! woe to us! What a book is this that neither omitted the minor sins nor the major ones except that it is counted' (Quran 18 v 49)

It will be said unto man:

Quran 17 v 14: Read your own record: sufficient is your soul this day to make out an account against you.

The virtuous ones will receive their records with their right hands, and about them Allah says:

QURAN 69 v 19-21: Then, he that will be given his record in his right hand will say: Ah! Here! Read my record! And he will be in a life of bliss.

On the other hand, the sinners and the unbelievers will receive theirs with the left hand and from their backs, and about them too, Allah says:

Quran 69 v 25-29: And he that will be given his record in his left hand will say: Ah! Would that my record has not been given to me! And that I had never known the state of my account!Ah! Would that death had made an end of me! Of no profit (today) to me has been my wealth! My power has perished from me.

Whoever is asked to account for any little thing cannot escape punishment. If, in the course of answering the questions, he tries to lie or hide any information, his mouth will be locked up.

Quran 36 v 65: This day We shall  seal up their mouths and their hands will speak to us and their legs will bear witness to what they used to earn.

Then, his body parts will be talking, and they will not hide anything of his deeds. Thereafter, he will rebuke them for saying all they had said amd witnessed. Their reply will be:

Quran 41 v 21: , Allah has caused us to speak, and He created you the first time and to Him you are made to return.

Thereafter, peoplewould be arraigned before Allah (swt) for judgement.Their case files will be placed wide opwn. The prophets, the truthfuls and the matyrs in the cause of Allah (swt) will be in the court to give evidence. The angels will seize the criminals (sinners) by their forelocks and take them to the place of trial before Allah! No one will be acquitted until he has been subjected to interrogation as regards how he spent his life, utilized his knowledge, used his body and acquired his wealth.

Case of blood shedding

Allah will commence judgement among His servants.  He will start with those whose bloods were shed. The prophet (saw) has said that: The first matter for which people would be judged on the Day of judgement will be the matter of shedding blood.  All those whose blood were shed would be brought before Allah( saw). The matyrs will appear with fresh blood oozing and emitting the fragrance of musk. All that were killed would be made to inquire from their killers why they were killed. After the enquiries, all that were killed while seeking honour for Allah would be accorded Al-Janah, while all those that were killed in the cause of seeking honour for themselves would be sentenced to hell. Thereafter, all other lives that were taken wrongfully would be looked into and penalized accordingly.

Case of bankruptcy

This category of people will be chagred for mingling virtue with vice. They are people who will appear with records of Solat, fasting, and Zakat. Nevertheless, they would have abused some people, caluminated others, devour substance of the third, shed blood of the fourth and beaten the fith. They will be called out before the crowd. It will be announced that those who have any claim against them should come forward. The good deeds of each of them will be used to pay those that they have wronged. If it happens that their good deeds are not enough to compensate the wrong ones, the sins or defaults of the wronged will be transferred unto them. Consequently, if their leftover deeds do not weigh what is required in the scale, they will be consigned to hell.

Fasting Six Days of the Month of Shawwal

Ramadan comes to an end with Eid-ul-Fitr, which is celebrated with grand feasts.

Fasting however, does not end with Ramadan. In the following month, called Shawwal, Muslims are encouraged to fast for a further six days. And it is said that those who fast in the month of Ramadan and six days during Shawwal will be rewarded as though they fasted the entire year.

The Prophet recommended fasting as voluntary worship, and he pointed out certain days which are recommended to fast, but this is all voluntary. Among these are the six days people fast in Shawwal, and the three middle days of each month, which are known as the white days. He explains that fasting these six days after Ramadan makes one’s fasting equal to fasting the whole year. This is due to the fact that God reward any good deed with ten times its value. Thus, for fasting the month of Ramadan,

He rewards us for the fasting of ten months. If we add six more days, He increases our reward to the equivalent of fasting 60 days, or two months, to complete the year.

Fasting six days of the month of Shawwal is mentioned in a Prophetic hadith. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is reported to have said: "Whosoever fasted in Ramadan and then followed up with six fasting days of Shawwal, it is like fasting for a whole year." (Muslim)

The meaning is that the reward is like the reward of a person who is always in fast every day of his/her life.

It is highly recommended to fast six days of the month of Shawwal, but it is not obligatory. Those who want to fast can fast after `Eid Al-Fitr any six days during Shawwal.

It is not required to fast six days continuously without any interruption. One can fast according to convenience any time during the month.

Muslim Unity (Ittihad)

Assalam Alaikum

May this reach you in the best of health and strongest of Imaan.

Allah (SWT) says in the Noble Qur'an: "And hold fast, all together, by the rope which Allah (stretches out for you), and be not divided among yourselves." (3:103)

Allah (SWT) says in the Noble Qur'an: "The believers are but a single brotherhood. Make peace and reconciliation between your two (contending) brothers and fear Allah so that you may receive mercy." (49-10)

Allah (SWT) says in the Noble Qur'an: "As for those who divide their religion and break up into sects, you have no part in them in the least: their affair is with Allah. He will in the end, tell them the truth of all that they did." (6-159)

Messenger of Allah (saw) said, "The Muslims are like a body, if one part of the body hurts, rest of the body will also suffer."

Messenger of Allah (saw) said, "Believers are brethren, their lives are equal to each other and they are as one hand against their enemy."

Messenger of Allah (saw) said, "It is not permissible for two Muslims to be annoyed and angry for more that three days."

Messenger of Allah (saw) said, "When Muslims are angry with each other for three days. If they do not compromise then they go away from the limits of Islam and the one who compromise first will enter Jannah ( Paradise ) earlier."

The utmost important duty for every Muslim is to preserve and protect the Muslim unity and not to cause any division in the Muslim rank. O Muslims: Know that union is strength and division is weakness. A building will not be strong except by the cohesion of its bricks. A tower will not arise except on correct foundations and solid principles. So, there are not sects in ISLAM, we should always call ourselves as Muslims, follower of Islam.

The Tailor's Needle

A tailor was at work. He took a piece of cloth and with a pair of shining, costly, scissors; he cut the cloth into various bits.

Then he put the pair of scissors at his feet. Then he took a small needle and thread and started to sew the bits of cloth, into a fine shirt. When the spell of sewing was over, he stuck the needle on to his turban.

The tailor's son who was watching it asked him: "Father, the scissors are costly and look so beautiful. But you throw them down at your feet. This needle is worth almost nothing; you can get dime a dozen. Yet, you place it carefully on your head itself. Is there any reason for this illogical behaviour?"

"Yes, my son. The scissors have their function, no doubt; but they only cut the cloth into bits. The needle, on the contrary, unites the bits and enhances the value of the cloth. Therefore, the needle to me is more precious and valuable. The value of a thing depends on its utility, son, not on its cost-price or appearance."

Similarly, there are two classes of people in the world-those who create dissensions and disharmony, who separate man from man; and those who bring about peace and harmony, who unite people.

The former are generally the rich people, powerful politicians and kings; the latter are generally the poor devotees of Allah (SWT), the penniless wandering monks, and mendicants. The Lord makes use of both to carry on his function of providing the field for the evolution of individual souls. He throws down on the dust the mighty kings and millionaires who create wars and disharmony; and He keeps the poor, pious devotee over the top. In His eyes the scale of values is entirely different!

IslamRe: Questions And Answers On Islamic Jurisprudence (fiqh) by babs787(op): 5:31pm On Oct 12, 2008
Question 14

When is ablution desirable and not obligatory?

Answer 14:

It is desirable and not obligatory for the Muslim to perform ablution for the following things:

1. For mentioning Allah, Glory be to Him or in other words, for saying or reciting any item of Dhikr. This includes recitation of the Quran.

2. For sleeping, because the prophet (saw) said, 'if you (are about to go to your bed (to sleep), perform ablution as you do for prayer, ' to the end of the hadith.

3. For having intercourse with one's wife again before performing ghusl, as well as for eating, drinking, or sleeping when being in a state of janabah. It has been narrated on the authority of Aisha, may ALLAH be pleased with her, that 'whenever the prophet (saw) was in a state of Janabah and wanted to eat or sleep, he would perform ablution as he would do for prayer? It has also been narrated on the authority of Abu Ais may Allah be pleased with him that the Prophet (saw) said

'If any one of you has intercourse with his wife then wants to do that again, let him perform ablution.

4, Before performing Gusl, for it has been narrated that Aish, may Allah be pleased with her said,

'whenver the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) PERFORMED ghusl because of Janabah, he would wash his hands three times and perform ablution just as he would do for prayer. Then he would run (the fingers of) his hand through his hair, and when he felt that he has watered his skin he would pour water upon it three times then wash his whole body.'

5. For each prayer, because the Prophet (saw) used to do so as narrated on the authority of Bariah, may Allah be pleased with him.

6. Whenever one is afflicted by something that nullifies one's ablution. It has been narrated that the prophet (saw) heard the sound of Bilal's shoes in Paradise just in front of him and he asked him, 'for what did you precede me to it (paradise)'. He said ,'O messenger of Allah! I never pronounced Adhan except that I perform two rakahs and I never heard hadath except that I performed ablution after it'. Thereupon, the Prophet said, 'it is for that (that you preceded me).

7.  For vomiting, because it has been narrated on the authority of Abud Darda may Allah be pleased with him, that once the Messenger of Allah (saw) vomited and broke his fasting, then prerformed ablution.

Question 15

What are the things that make ghusl obligatory

Answer 15:

1. Janabah: a muslim comes into a state of janabah when he ejaculates semen as a result of lust without copulation, as when semen goes out of the bodyon looking at or touching one's wife. This necessesiates ghusl as unanimously agreed upon by scholars.

2. Menstruation: Whenver a woman menstruates, then her menstruation period comes to an end, she must perform ghusland no prayer that she perform is valid until she does so.

3. Post Natal bleeding: whenever the bleeding happening during what is kown as postpartum period ceases, any woman with this condition must perform ghusl, becase she is jurisprudentially treated the same as a woman who has menses. And Allah knows best.

One of the facts i noticed about christianity is the fact that its followers allow open scrutiny of what they believe in, everything is done out in the open, they don't get violent when their faith is questioned unlike our other friends, who get voilent verbally and otherwise(making numerous death threats)when questions are asked about their faith, they delete posts that seek to unearth the truth about the falsehood they believe, the lock threads that have open discourse. All these make it obvious that theres something insecure, some information being 'protected that if the world is allowed to see will be 'damaging' to the pseudo religion.

if you want to try these go to the muslim section and post.

"is muhammad a prophet of violence"?

its wil probably survive 30mins!

If you had no joy in linking with the powerpoint presentation that I suggested try the one Babs787 suggested below.

http://www.chick.com/information/religions/islam/
I actually posted the link so that you would go there and bring your claim and we discuss. Since the link was created by liars, you should be bold enough to bring out the issues and we discuss one after the other and since you couldnt do that, here are parts of what I saw in the link you hid behind. The author is even a christian that had no knowledge about Islam and lied in which you ignorantly fell for his pack of lies.

He said:

Don't Muslims worship the same God as Christians?

Many Christians accept the Muslim claim that we both worship the same God. They claim that they call him Allah, while we call him God. It is not unusual to hear Christian leaders make such statements. Bible societies have even gone so far as to use the name Allah in the Bibles they produce for Arab Christians.
It means those Christians saying that God is Allah are confused huh? Since you Olaadegbu and Morey claimed that Allah is moon God, then the Arab christians using Arabic bible with 'Allah' are worshipping god and not the same God you worship abi? shocked Confusion at its peak

The problem with this is two-fold. First, history and archeology show clearly that Allah was worshipped as a pagan moon god long before Mohammed came on the scene. Robert Morey, author of The Islamic Invasion, explains:
Good, you hid under the work Morey. Can an outsider know more than the insider abi iwo fe mo iya Osho ju osho lo? Do you still have where you can give me that they Allah as moon god?

"Islam's origins have been traced back by scholars to the ancient fertility religion of the worship of the moon god which was always the dominant religion of Arabia. The moon god was worshipped by praying toward Mecca several times a day, making an annual pilgrimage to the Kabah which was a temple of the moon god, running around the Kabah seven times, caressing an idol of a black stone set in the wall of the Kabah, running between two hills, making animal sacrifices, gathering on Fridays for prayers, giving alms to the poor, etc. These were pagan rites practiced by the Arabs long before Muhammad was born."
Please, how does moon relates to Kabbah?
Since you claimed that they worship moon, what of when Muslim pray around 2pm, 4pm respectivley, do they still worship moon?
Do you have the proof that it was practised by pagans just like the trinity?

"What religion today practices the pagan rites of the moon god? Islam! This explains why the crescent moon is the symbol of Islam. It is placed on top of mosques and minarets and displayed on hats, flags, rugs, amulets and even jewelry. Every time you see the Muslim symbol of a crescent moon, you are seeing the ancient symbol of the moon god."
Brother, I dont believe in story telling but facts and evidence. Do you have where you can show me what your brother posted up as facts?

Second, if you read the Qur'an's description of Allah, and read the Bible's description of God, it becomes obvious you are reading about two different persons. Allah orders his followers to kill those who deny Islam, while God instructs us to love our enemies. Allah had no son while God sent His Son to die for sinful men. Allah is "unknowable" while God seeks a personal relationship with His creation, man.
Kai, u lie. Siddon there. Are you referring to OT or NT? Did God send himself. How could your God Jesus be having different personality and you should know that OT God was quite different from NT God. Deny that and I would serve you biblical verses to start with.

The spirit behind Islam is an entirely different spirit, a spirit that denies the deity of Jesus Christ. Any Christian who accepts the notion that Allah is God creates an impossible situation. Since the Qur'an contains our only revelation about Allah, they will be forced to look there as their authority. The Qur'an specifically denies the deity of Christ! All Christian witness ends right there.
Now, its not only the Quran that does that, your bible does as well and you may let me know if you go against that and I provide you FACTS from your bible and I think you should trust Babs for that.

Olaadegbu, the above was culled from the link you ran to and if you are really in for a discussion, we could take them one at a time and go into the bible as we proceed.

IslamRe: Our Children ; Our Future by babs787(m): 8:17pm On Oct 10, 2008
Salam all

I have been following this and conclude that its a nice thread and would also awaken some of us that spend lots of money on our children education but never for one day bother giving them Islamic education.

Firstly, this is being caused when the parent are not 'Muslim'. What I mean by being a muslim is to follow the Sunnah, Quran and Hadith of the Holy Prophet, the five pillars of Islam, articles of faith etc.

Western education is key, no doubt about that but we should not forget that Islamic education is very vital as well and form the bedorck of what we came to do on earth, 'purpose of creation'.

We find parent that are not practising muslim go against their children, both male and female after they might have gone out to study and along the line, acquired Islamic knowledge and come home practising like them never did when with their parent. I have seen parent going against their children just because she decided to be wearing Hijab and I have seen parent going against their male children just because he decided to be following Sunnah and Hadith as it ought to be followed.

The best thing to do is to give them Western Education as well as Islamic for check and balance. Though we have parent that give their children Islamic education but these children, backslide as a result of environment, peergroup, etc.

We parent should know that Western education is for this world while Islamic education is for the hereafter and we are shepherd that would be accountable for our flock. Also the Holy prophet said something on bringing up a female child and the reward for bringing up a male child as well.

We should not spend time, money on giving our children western education only but Islamic education because when we die, it is these children that would be praying, supplicating for the dead parent and we all know the impact of the prayer of the children of the deceased.

We should alwasy try as much as possible to find out how they are doing in their Madrasah, ask questions on what they have learnt and do sit them down and teach them the Quran and Islam.

We shouldnto forget that we should always let them know about other faith too so that when they go out, it would not look strange to them and would not be deceived because they would hear many things outside and would want to ask you and if you dont know about your religion for a start, how would you able to explain it to them and go extra mile in explaining the others.

@IbnSalam

I am just passing but saw your posts and I felt it would be ideal to reply you. Do you have to create that kinda Id in order to deceive?

Facts are facts whether we like them or not.
Good and I need the facts, nothing but facts

The Arabic word for God is NOT "Allah" but "Ilah". 'Allah' is a contration of two words 'al' which means 'the' and 'ilah' which means 'god' - whether small capital or small capital, it is the same.
How do you arrive at that? Remember, we all agree on serving facts. Could you honor my by giving me where you culled the above from?

In the Quran, Muhammad says he has been commanded to worship "the god of this city (Mecca)"
Do you have where it was stated precisely the way you put it up? Remember, we need facts

Each Arabian town had its own territorial god.
Good and are you referring to present Arabia or during Jahiliyah?

If a Muslim disagrees with this, we would help them go to the archive and dig out facts
Please, let me have it from your archive.
- some from the Qur'an.
Let me have your facts from the Quran as well

We don't need to defend our faith just because we are devoted to it.
What faith are you defending? Have you researched your religion yourself or base your argument, believe on what you are being told?

If does not stand the test of historical facts, we would be sensible enough to say, "OK, I see. I must rethink."
So you had better rethink and come out with something reasonable and you should know that we would not only journey through Quran alone but the Bible as well.

So brother, let me have your facts please cool

Steadfastness After Ramadan

Muslims do wait for the blessed month of Ramadan year after year, hoping that Almighty Allah may bestow mercy and forgiveness on them and keep them away from the Hellfire.

They start Ramadan extremely enthusiastic to worship Almighty Allah sincerely. They dust off their copies of the Qur’an and begin reading it daily. Moreover, most of them vie in finishing to read it completely whether one, two, or three times or more in Ramadan. Muslims also show great interest in offering the Tarawih Prayer and Tahajjud (late night Prayer). We see mosques full of people offering Prayers at times of the prescribed Prayers and even at other times to the extent that some may not find place inside the mosque and resort to praying on the pavement adjacent to the mosque. Muslims also show the best qualities in them in this blessed month. They offer the poor and the traveling iftar meals and give charity to the poor and needy. This, in fact, is the true Islamic atmosphere that should prevail all the year.

But one wonders if Muslims will keep practicing these good acts also after Ramadan.

And After Ramadan?

Almighty Allah honors Muslims by giving them this blessed month and enabling them to worship Him sincerely during it. But what about after Ramadan? In fact, I am afraid that Muslims, including me, may show negligence in worship after it.

Will Muslims after Ramadan give up reciting the Qur’an until the following Ramadan? Will they neglect offering congregational Prayers in mosques and abandon Tahajjud? Knowing the answer to these questions depends on how steadfast they will be on the right path one or two months after Ramadan. However, I fear that some will fail in keeping steadfast starting from the eve of `Eid following Ramadan!

To every person who has sincerely worshiped Allah, experienced the sweetness of worship during Ramadan, prostrated himself before Almighty Allah during Tahajjud, shed tears out of fear of Almighty Allah, and repented to Him sincerely: what will you do after Ramadan?

Almighty Allah has given us Ramadan as an opportunity to worship Him sincerely and do our best to strengthen our faith so that we continue in the same manner throughout the year until the following Ramadan, in which we exert further and further efforts to increase our faith and draw near to Allah.

Hence, one should not be a worshiper only in Ramadan but in all months, too, for the Lord of Ramadan is also the Lord of all months. One should not abandon the Qur’an or Tahajjud, or offering dhikr after Ramadan, nor should one give up voluntary fasting after Ramadan or neglect offering the prescribed Prayers in congregations in the mosque. One should, rather, keep offering these good acts after Ramadan even if in a lessened form: one, for instance, may recite only two pages of the Qur’an daily, offer few rak`ahs in Tahajjud, keep saying the morning and evening adhkar and observe fasting three days per (lunar) month (the thirteenth, fourteenth, and fifteenth of each lunar month), Mondays and Thursdays. This is the least that one can keep doing after Ramadan. But if one has higher ambitions in worship and aspires to be in the best place in Paradise , one is to exert one’s utmost and offers the best, not the least, which one can do in this respect.

Dear fellows in Islam, lets seize the opportunity given to us in the blessed month of Ramadan to strengthen our faith and worship Allah heart and soul. Strong faith and sincere worship are the best blessing that Almighty Allah bestows on believers. So we should not waste this chance given to us and allow all blessings of Ramadan fade away just like that. Only Allah knows who witness the next Ramadan.

My friend, still no place where any of the above verses says you should use singing coupled with guitar, talking drum, etc to worship God.
Are you from another planet or just waking up because I see no relationship between this thread and your claim up. I have discussed your claim up in one or some of threads.

Psalms 66:4 All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name. If you also read Jeremiah 44:19 And Daniel 3:5,10 & 15, you will see there are different modes of worship and singing and music is included in general modes of worship and I'm not only talking bout the Christian God here, If people can use all these to glorify and worship idols, h ow much more the God of heaven and earth who made all of it, doesn't he deserve at least some worship with these things which he created solely for his good pleasure?
Did God say you should worship or praise him with singing and dancing? Are you here for a discussion and insight into your bible or religion?

Keeping Ramadan Spirits Alive:

10 tips to help you keep those Ramadan habits

Ramadan was great for some of us. We actually started praying five times a day on time. But once the blessed month is over we fear the momentum, drive and motivation that kept us going will fade out. Then we get worried that this good habit might not last.

But it doesn't have to be that way. In fact, a number of psychologists agree that a person needs about three weeks to develop a good habit. If you've been praying regularly, fasting, controlling your temper, trying to be more patient, or keeping any other good habit during Ramadan, you're almost sure, Insha Allah, to keep up with it afterwards.

Nonetheless, we all slip up. As well, the drive that pushes us to do good in Ramadan is usually not as strong the rest of the year. Here are a few things you can do to maintain the good habits you picked during Ramadan:

1. Make Dua

It was Allah who gave you the ability to keep the good habit in Ramadan, and only He can help you maintain it afterwards. Make Dua that Allah helps you not only keep the habit, but that He accepts it and makes it a way for you to grow in closeness to Him.

2. Make it a habit

If you want to keep good habits, you've got to make sure they remain part of your daily schedule. For instance, fasting. Did you know that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) encouraged fasting on Mondays and Thursdays? He said: A man's deeds are reported (to Allah) on Mondays and Thursdays and I prefer that I should be fasting when my deeds are reported (Tirmidhi).

This is a great way of maintaining the habit so you're not rusty by next Ramadan.

Or for example, were you extra generous during Ramadan? Well, maybe you can portion out a set amount of your weekly or monthly paycheck to a charitable cause to maintain the habit of giving.

Make the habit part of your daily and weekly schedule. The point is to keep the action in practice, and of course gain rewards from Allah.

3. Think about your day each night

Evaluating ourselves, our intentions, words and actions, every night is a very good way to maintain good habits.

Self-evaluation doesn't only help you see where you are and where you've got to go. It's also a great reminder of what you were supposed to do and didn't.

Add a question or two (or three or four) about your specific habit into a daily self-evaluation questionnaire. Ask yourself, for instance, how often did I pray today? What was the quality of my prayer? Did I pray on time? etc. These serve to remind you to keep up the habit and do better next time.

4. Evaluate yourself weekly

This helps you see the bigger picture. You'll be able to evaluate on a more long-term level how well you've been keeping your habit in practice. You can do the same thing on a monthly and yearly basis.

For those who are really into the technical aspect of self-evaluation, maybe you can make a graph to help you chart how well (or not so well) you've been keeping up with your good habit.

5. Get a friend to help

What are friends for anyway? If you've got a close friend you feel you can share your new habit with, let them join you in keeping up with it and keeping tabs on you while they're at it. This will not only encourage you, but Insha Allah, it'll deepen your brother/sisterhood as well.

Alternatively, look for groups where you can maintain the habit. If, for instance, you memorized Quran regularly in Ramadan and want to keep the habit, join an Islamic study circle focused on memorization.

6. Don't fall apart once you make one mistake

The beauty of Tawbah (repentance) in Islam, is that Allah blesses us with this opportunity to return back to Him after doing something wrong. We should remember that we are humans and that we will err. Only Allah is Perfect.

This is why, for instance, if we were able to pray on time all through Ramadan, but become slack afterwards, we must realize it, seek Allah's forgiveness sincerely, and try our best to get back on track, asking Allah to help us.

We should not give up trying to pray on time just because we have missed doing so on a couple of occasions.

7. Ask yourself WHY you kept the habit

Niyyah or intention is a key to Allah's acceptance of our good deeds. If we developed a habit to impress others, for instance, we may be able to keep the momentum for a while, but most probably it'll wear out afterwards.

But if we maintained a habit sincerely for the sake of Allah, Insha Allah, not only will we be rewarded for it, but our intention will help us maintain the necessary motivation to continue to do good.

8. Don't expect the same results

If you were ready to spring out of bed in anticipation for Fajr during many of the days of Ramadan, but find yourself barely waking up for the prayer afterwards, don't be surprised, but don't become slack either.

Good habits are often easy to maintain in Ramadan, the blessed month. The hard part is doing so after the "high" of Ramadan. This is where you'll have to work hard to force yourself to maintain your habit, whether it's waking up for Fajr, not smoking, eating less, being more patient, etc.

Be thankful when you're able to maintain your habit and think about practical things you can do to keep it up on a regular basis.

9. Work your way up slowly

Aisha reported that Rasulullah said: Do good deeds properly, sincerely and moderately, and remember that you shall enter Paradise only through Allah's Mercy, and also remember that the most beloved deed to Allah is that which is regular and constant even if it is little (Bukhari).

The wisdom in this Hadith is tremendous and it is one way of keeping up good habits you have picked up in Ramadan.

For example, let's say you were motivated to read Quran for half-an-hour on a daily basis in Ramadan. But now that it's over, you feel sluggish, lazy and want to give it up. Yet, you had wanted to maintain this habit after the blessed month was over.

Instead of trying to read Quran for the same amount of time, reduce the time period to as much as you are initially able to do, even if it's just five minutes a day.

If you keep up this 'five minutes a day' habit, Insha Allah, you will see the amount of Quran you read will increase slowly but gradually, perhaps even surpassing your Ramadan maximum in the long-term, Insha Allah!

10. Don't give yourself the option

What makes you get up for work in the mornings, no matter how tired you are? What makes you drag yourself out of a warm bed on a cold morning to get ready for work or school? It's the fact that you have no option, and you know that there are negative consequences to not going to work (you'll be fired) or school (you'll fail).

Use the same kind of psychology on yourself when it comes to maintaining your good habit. Tell yourself, for instance, that Allah will be very angry with you if you do not pray Fajr, no matter how cold your room is on a frosty season. That in turn can lead to more bad deeds, which could lead to decreased faith, and a downward spiral in your life. And Allah can punish you in various ways in this world as well as the next for not praying. You could lose your job; you could have a family crisis, etc.

Dear brothers and sisters, do not be one of those who do not pay heed to Allah Most High except in Ramadan. The righteous predecessors said about them, “Woe to those people who do not become mindful of Almighty Allah but in Ramadan!”

May Allah help us to be steadfast in the right path and make us witness the next Ramadan in good health and condition.

Bismillahir Rahmaan Rahim

Ramadhaan is Over

Early on the day of Eid, Muslims throughout the world perform a special Eid Salaah. This is a silent reminder that even on the day of celebration and happiness a Muslim can never forget Allah Azza Wajal. A Muslim does not remember Allah only on auspicious days or nights. Allah has to be in our hearts and minds perpetually, during times of sadness and happiness, during difficulty and ease. The Eid Salaah teaches us that the spirit and training during the month of Ramadhaan must not be wasted after the great month ends, by indulging in sin. Although the warmth and barakah of Ramadhaan has left us we should remain strong the steadfast against Shaitaan.

The Quran gives the example of a foolish woman in Makkah who used to spin cotton during the day and then undo all her effort at night. “And be not like her who undoes the thread which she has spun after it has become strong.” (Surah Nahal, Verse 92)

If during Ramadhaan Salaah was performed punctually, why should Salaah be discarded after Ramadhaan is over?

If in Ramadhaan the television was switched off , why should it be switched on after Eid?

If sinful places were avoided during Ramadhaan why should they be frequented after Ramadhaan?

If during Ramadhaan the Quran was in our hands and on our tongues why should the Quran be returned to the shelf after Ramadhaan?

May Allah keep us steadfast and may He grant us death on Imaan. Aameen.

Six Fasts in the Month of Shawwaal

The Prophet, Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said: “Whoever completes the fasts of Ramadhaan then adds to them the fast of six days in the month of Shawwaal, it will be like fasting for the whole year. (Sahih Muslim)

This hadith describes the great reward of six extra fasts in the month of Shawwaal. These six fasts should preferably be kept immediately after the day of Eid. However, if they are kept later during the month it is hoped that the reward will still be achieved.

Some scholars have given a beautiful explanation of this hadith. They mention that Allah says in the Quran : “He that does good shall have ten times as much to his credit.” (Surah An’aam, Verse 160) Thus, the 30 fasts of Ramadhaan will be equivalent in reward to 300 and the 6 extra fasts will be equivalent to 60. The combined reward will now be 360, which equals the number of days in the Islamic year

A word is enough for wise and May Allah open their (Disbelievers) chests to Islam before it would be too late. Someone was asked a very direct question on what Jesus said while on the cross but he dodged the question. God on earth cried to himself in heaven that 'what did he (talking to the other part of him) forsake him? Kai na wa. Allah said if he even bring down angels, showing man clear signs, they would still not believe.
