@Lady, Bastage, Olaadegbu We have discussed this very extensively in some threads in which I couldnt locate some, but here are some for you supporters of trinity. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-68474.0.html https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-68474.32.html https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-68474.64.html |
Maybethe poster is one of the attention seekers |
@RedHotchic @bold, are you not also guilty of that?. Did you marry a virgin?. Did you marry all the girls you disvirgined?.I am very sure you would not be talking ignorantly if only you know Babs one on one. I am not like you say things that are not supposed to be said via net. You should remember all the childish you said to Olabowale in one of threads, showing how loose you could be. You should know that I am not an Island, I have brothers and sisters both as family members, friends and learn t lots from them. My dear Babs is not ready for your silly loose talks. If you really want to know Babs, you could mail me and we discuss. I don't discuss my privacy online. Of course i will advise her accordingly. But Babs didn't fall into a trap, he set the trap unless you are about to prove that he is so sexy that women set traps for him. so, what are you talking about?I pray for your soul because you keep saying what you are ignorant of. Your bible says not what goes into the mouth defileth a man but what cometh out. Again, why not refer this lady to Pilgrim that have successfully death with such issues before? will you let your sister fall into that trap again? No comment here as I wouldnt want to be misquoted/misunderstood |
@Ayinba You don't have to rejoice over her death or throw a party. There is particular saying I knew while a youth which goes thus: 'let my enemy live long and see what I would become in future'. She should have lived long enough to reap what she sowed and probably seek for repentance before she dies. You just have to thank Allah for keeping you alive despite her atrocities. We tend to grow as we continue having more enemies. If you don't have enemy, you wouldnt be able to pray for protection and as you do that, you overcome your enemy(ies) and become stronger spiritually, financially etc and gets elevated. |
@Poster Be careful, he is a wolf in sheep clothing. He is interested in what you could offer him and not your future. Why not stand your grounds and if he leaves, it means he is not yours but if he really loves and want you, he would wait for his time and probably speed up geeting married to you. Why the rush in what he would enjoy for the rest of his life? Please pray over it and don't lose your virginity over a person that would leave you after getting what he wants and would go about telling his friends that he got you afterall your 'shakara'. Pray for guidance and before you know it, your real husband would come knocking at your door. If he can't cope without sex, let him fast and if he can't, let him marry and put you in his house, besides, you can still be going to school in your husband's house. Its a great sin to have sex before marriage. He would wait if he loves and wants you. |
@Dayokanu So what you are saying here is that its OKAY to marry a girl of 8 years?I do laugh when you as well as your fellow Christians and other non muslims 'throw stones' when issued is being discussed, forgetting to go through history before doing the attack. It was yesterday that a friend of mine (single mother of three living in the States from the US) told me that I should celebrate with her that she would be a grandmother very soon. Funny enough, I know her to be a single mother catering for her three kids in which the lady happens to be 13 (not up to but would be in few months time). I asked about the husband of her kid daughter but she told me point blank that its going to be out of wedlock and said that afterall, she is going to be a grandmother. I couldnt believe my ears though I know that it happens but this friend of mine is going to fifties, a born again christian and holds a high position in her church. |
I tire for the lady o. I dont know why she still doesnt want to accept Islam after all the versesshe has been hiding under and laying claim to have been explained. |
@Redhotchic Unbelievers are those that are not born again. You can't be born again because you don't believe in Jesus, can you?Are you saying christian that is not born again is an unbeliever? What does it take to be born again? Believe in Jesus as what? Hope you have been taking note of the verses I have been explaining in which you have been hisding under? |
The age of sexual consent is still quite low in many places. In Japan, people can legally have sex at age 13, and in Spain they can legally have sex at age 12. A 40-year-old man having sex with a 14-year-old woman may be a "pedophile" in the USA [/b]today, [b]but not in China today (where the age of consent is 14), nor in the USA last century. Biology is a much better standard by which to determine these things in my view, not the arbitrariness of human culture. In the USA last century, the age of consent was 10 years old. California was the first state to change the age of c[b]onsent to 14, which it did in 1889[/b]. After California, other US states joined in and raised the age of consent too. The most famous marriage in christianity according to christian belief is no doubt that of Mary, Jesus mother with Joseph. While the following details are not in the canonical Gospels in the Bible, it appears from other early christian writings (known as apocryphal writings) that Mary was 12 years old when the temple elders decided to find a husband for her. They selected husband by drawing lots and joseph whom they chose was an elderly man, being according to some accounts 90 years old. The husband was selected and Mary washanded over to him and she played no part in his selection. (1913th edition, catholic encyclopedia) [/b]while the western christian churches may not accept these account as authentic, the Eastern chruches in Europe do accept that [b]Mary was 12 years old and joseph was a widower 90 years old when they married. It is also found in the babylonian talmud that a girl of the age of 3 years and a day may be betrothed, subject to her father's approva[/b]l and in the second half of the 17th century, the bridegroom was frequently [b]not more than 10 years old while the bride was still younger. This is the reference of brother Johnny Bravo's Talmudic quotes. A girl must be 12 years old for marriage, but a 3-year old may be betrothed with the father's approval. In Abbyssinia in the 6th century, a law was issued prescribing inter marriage between christians and baptized Jews. Accordingly, no boy or girl over 13 was to remain unmarried, [/b]because such marriages would lead to speedy amalgamation of the communities. [b] Amongst the Hindus, [/b]child marriage of daughters of age 5 and 6 years old was common during the Brahmanic Dark Ages due to the custom of dowry. [b]Law books prescribed that the best patner for a man is approximately one-third his age. (Manu. IX.94). A man aged thirty years shall marry a maiden of 12 who please him or a man of twenty four, a girl of 8 years of age. The Roman law stipulated that a man might marry at the age of 14 and a woman at the age of 12. This law was adopted by the church and is till preserved in various countries including some regions of the US. . In England, it was only in 1929 that the ancient christian miimum age for the marriage of females which was 12 was abadoned |
@Dayokanu My religion does not permit nudity but does not allow me to kill anyone who wants it.Which religion are you talking about? Does your religion has any particular dressing code because I read in one of your threads argument on wearing of trousers by ladies and plaiting of hair by men. What does your religion consider as nudity? Example when they brought the prostitute to Jesus and they wanted to stone her He told them "Let who without a sin cast the first stone" after they all left in shame, He told the woman to go and sin no more!!!Meaning what sir? When you are able to provide explanation to that, we would try and look at the indepth meaning of that statement. Slay them wherever ye find them and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution is worse than slaughter. - 2:191Allah commands Muslims to stand up for themselves in a defensive battle to repel opression. If an enemy attacks, Muslims are to fight against the enemy until the enemy stops its aggression. Dayokanu, I learnt that most of you ignorantly lift verses out of context forgetting to read the verse preceding it but here are the verses for clarification. "Fight in the cause of God those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for God loves not transgressors. And slay them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter; but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there; but if they fight you, slay them. Such is the reward of those who suppress faith. But if they cease, God is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevails justice and faith in God; but if they cease, let there be no hostility except to those who practise oppression" (2:190-193). We can see from the above that its a defensive war being discussed here when Muslim is being attacked without reason, opressed and not allowing them to practice their faith. When these happen, Muslims are allowed to fight back but even despite their fighting back (Muslims), they are not allowed to trangress limit and should stop fighting once the enemies stop. When the sacred months are over, slay the idolaters wherever you find them. Arrest them, besiege them, and lie in ambush everywhere for them. - 9:5The above verse, just like the one you first gave was taken out of context. However, we would the clearer picture by reading the preceding verses: 9v4:If the idol worshipers sign a peace treaty with you, and do not violate it, nor band together with others against you, you shall fulfill your treaty with them until the expiration date. GOD loves the righteous. 9v5: Once the Sacred Months are past, (and they refuse to make peace) you may kill the idol worshipers when you encounter them, punish them, and resist every move they make. If they repent and observe the Contact Prayers (Salat) and give the obligatory charity (Zakat), you shall let them go. GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful. 9v6: If one of the idol worshipers sought safe passage with you, you shall grant him safe passage, so that he can hear the word of GOD, then send him back to his place of security. That is because they are people who do not know. This verse was revealed during a historical period when the small Muslim community had entered into treaties with neighboring tribes (Jewish, Christian, and pagan). Lots of the pagan tribes had violated the terms of their treaty and secretly aiding the enemy attack agaimst the Muslims. The verse 4 which happens to be before verse 5 instructs the Muslims to continue to honor treaties with anyone who has not since betrayed them and the verse continues that anyone that violated the treaties has declared war and must be fought. Allah instructs that if they repent, establish regular praywers and charity, then open the way for them to go. [9:123] O you who believe, you shall fight the disbelievers who attack you - let them find you stern - and know that GOD is with the righteous. The above is just like the others as well. Note the enboldened words therein. The below verse summarises all that seems uclear to you 60 v8: God does not forbid you, with regard to those who fight you not for (your) faith nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with them: for God loves those who are just." @Dayokanu When you are back, here are verses for you: Deuteronomy 13:6-9 "If your very own brother, or your son or daughter, or the wife you love, or your closest friend secretly entices you, saying: Let us go and worship other gods (gods that neither you nor your fathers have known, gods of the peoples around you, whether near or far, from one end of the land to the other, or gods of other religions), do not yield to him or listen to him. Show him no pity. Do not spare him or shield him. You must certainly put him to death. Your hand must be the first in putting him to death, and then the hands of all the people." Deuteronomy 17:3-5 "And he should go and worship other gods and bow down to them or to the sun or the moon or all the army of the heavens, , a[b]nd you must stone such one with stones and such one must die.[/b]" Matthew 15v4 For God said, 'Honor your father and mother' and 'Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.' Leviticus 20:27 "And as for a man or woman in whom there proves to be a mediumistic spirit or spirit of prediction[b], they should be put to death without fail. [/b] They should pelt them to death with stones. Their own blood is upon them." Let me stop here cos there are lots of terror stories in your book |
@Redhotchic And no, my pastor specifically warned us not to partake in any feast with unbelievers.Who did your pastor refer to as unbeliever? I noticed that you dont bother to read or provide rebuttal in most of the threads I have exposed some biblical verses you presented. |
@Redhotchic Evangelism is different from obscure interest in christianity. The dangerous part of what you guys are doing is that you are trying to define Christ from the Quranic point of view.Nope, I am also defining Jesus in the light of the bible. I have been giving you verses from your bible with regards to his true nature and his message. That will only give you a limited if not false knowledge about Christ because that was what it was programmed to do.DEAR. My journey from your religion to Islam opened me eyes to things which you would never know while still a christian. It has afforded me the opportunity of knowing the two religion and some other faith, cult as a result of my quest for the truth. I have been supporting my write up with both Qranic and Biblical verses in which you have been feigning ignorance. My job is to preach to you but acceptance lies with our Creator. to cause confusion among potential faithfuls that saw the real light in Jesus. Jesus is lord and may He redeem you from darkness. Now if truly he came to die for your sins, why didnt he come immediately Adam and Eve committed the sin but had to wait thousand of years after prophets were sent to preach the oneness of God. One thing you need to know is that, I cannot be in darkness as long as I am following the religion of Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Mohammed (PBUT): Quran 42 v 13: He (Allah) has ordained for you the same religion (Islamic monotheism) which He ordained for Noah, and that which we have revealed to you (O Muhammed saw) and that which we ordained for Abraham, Moses, and Jesus saying YOU SHOULD ESTABLISH RELIGION (i.e to do what it orders you to do practically) AND MAKE NO DIVISIONS IN IT (religion) Quran 2 v 130: And who turns away from the religion of Abraham (Islamic monotheism) except him who befols himself[/b]. Truly, we chose him in this world and verily in the Hereafter, he will be among the righteous. V 131: [b]When His Lord said to him, ‘submit (i.e be a muslim). He said, ‘I have submitted myself (as a muslim) to the Lord of the mankind, jinn and all that exists[/b]. V 132: [b]And this (submission to Allah, Islam) was enjoined by Abraham upon his sons and by Jacob (saying), ‘o my sons! Allah has chosen for you the (true) religion, then die not except in the faith of Islam (as muslims)[/b] V 136: Say (O Muslims), ‘[b]we believe in Allah and that which has been sent down to us and that which has been sent down to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob and to Al-Asbat (the offspring of the twelve sons of Jacob) and that which has been given to Moses and Jesus and that which has been given to the Prophets from their Lord, we make no distinction between any of them and to Him we have submitted (IN ISLAM). Quran 3 v 84: Say (O Muhammed saw), ‘we believe in Allah and in what has been sent down to us, and what was sent down to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the offspring of the tweve sons of Jacob and what was given to Moses, Jesus and the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between one another among them and to Him (Allah) we have submitted (in Islam). May Allah open your eyes to the truth before its too late |
@Redhotchic 2) John 10:30-33: “‘I and the Father are one.’John 10:28-30, talking about his followers as his sheep, he states: ", Neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father who gave them me, is greater than all, and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and the Father are One." John 17:20-22 "That the ALL may be made ONE. Like thou Father art in me[/b], [b]I in thee, that they may be ONE in us. I in them, they in me, that they may be perfect in ONE". Can you provide explanation to the above verses? 3) Colossians 1:15-16; 2:9: “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. . . . For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form. . .”Could you please explain: 'all things were created for him' 'all things were created by him' The above still didnt say he was the only begotten son and it was paul preaching. Do you vare to furnish his sayings that he was before creation. The letters is nopt supposed to be part of your book because it is a letter addressed to a particular set of people and it further shows that the bible is not 100% complete word of God. John 14:28 Jesus said[b] "My Father (GOD) is greater than I"[/b] John 7:16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me John 12:49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. John 8:26 I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him. John 14:24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me. 1 Corinthians 11:3: Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is YHWH [Jehovah or Yahweh] [/color] Ephesians 1:3-Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 1 Peter 1:3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead Revelation 1:6 -Jesus has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen. John 20:17 Jesus said, "Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, 'I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God. I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. (John 5:24)" Did he send himself?[color=#990000] 4)Matthew 28:16-17: “Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.”Do you know what they termed "prosekuneo" 'worship' OR 'Prosekunesan' and if it exists in the bible as used for Jesus in those passages? The RSV didnt use the word 'worship; but used 'they knelt and paid him homage' while NEB used the word 'bowed down' All this I will give you,' he (Satan) said (to Jesus), 'if you will bow down and worship me.' Jesus said to him, 'Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only. Matthew 4:9-10. "Worship" is a clear mistranslation and it must not be taken literally to falsely prove that Jesus is GOD Himself. Do we say Saul worshipped David here: 1 Samuel 24 7 With these words David rebuked his men and did not allow them to attack Saul. And Saul left the cave and went his way. 8 Then David went out of the cave and called out to Saul, "My lord the king!" When Saul looked behind him, David bowed down and prostrated himself with his face to the ground. 2 Samuel 14:4 4 When the woman from Tekoa went to the king, she fell with her face to the ground to pay him honor, and she said, "Help me, O king!" Reading the verses, one would see that the verse quoted by Redhotchic is being used by TRINITARIAN to prove the deity of Jesus while other versions shed light on the real meaning of the word. |
@Redhotchic I promised to be back and here I am with a juicy response. Iyawo, it seems you deliberately ignored the link I supplied where you and I had discussion and I shed light on some verses you hid behind but funny enough, you still ignorantly posted same here again!. Nevertheless, I would still reply you but bthe earlier you realised the truth, the better for you. How and when did Jesus become a slave? Slave to who?The bible is there for you to read for understanding. You may also read the book of romans where Paul made u known the master-servant relationship. Jesus said he didnt come by his own will but the one that sent him that he couldnt do anything on his own and that the one that sent him is greater than him. Come to think of it, could you as a person subject your son to horrible death? Your belief in the deity of Christ and his ability to save automatically makes you a christian. Accepting Jesus as your personal lord and savior automatically qualifies you for heaven.Where did he say that you should accept him as lord and personal saviour and you gave me the preaching of John that has no basis. It was only John that used the word' the only begotten son' but if we journey through the bible from Genesis to revelation, we would see other begotten sons, so who happened to be the first? Yes, he came with the new covenant.Kai, which new covenant? Do you read your book at all? He said that he didnt come to annul the law but to fulfil it. Which new covenant he brought different from those before him? Before Him, sacrifices and burnt offerings were offered unto God for the repose of our sins but when Jesus came, He broke the covenant, destroyed the power of death and sin over mankind. The synoptic gospels are 4 and they basically say the same thing in different terms. Although some offer a little more information than others.Who told you that? I don't even need to go into the origin of the bible and there are threads where I exposed those, its just a matter of bringing up the threads for you if needed. I could bring our account that said different things from your bible if you so wish Yes, Jesus is the only begotten son.Jeremiah 31:9 "I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn." Psalm 2:7 ", Jehovah had said onto me (David), thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee." So Is jesus really the only begotten son and who is now the first born? How could Jesus beget himself when he happened to be your God? Who is your current islamic prophet now and tell me how He/she is the light? So you don't know that prophets are like torch that lightens the path. Its like a relay race in which one prophets takes over from another. Jesus was the light for the children of Israel then because he was sent to them only but Muhammad (PBUT) is a mercy to the whole world because he was sent to all. And We have sent you (O Muhammad) not but as a mercy for the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). (Al Anbia’:107) And We have not sent you (O Muhammad) except as a giver of glad tidings and a warner to all mankind, but most of men know not. (Saba’:28) Muhammad is not the father of any man among you, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the last (end) of the Prophets. And Allah is Ever All-Aware of everything. ( Al Ahzab:40) It is He Who has sent His Messenger (Muhammad ) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islam), to make it superior over all religions even though the Mushrikun (polytheists, pagans, idolaters, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah) hate (it). (At Tauba:33) He it is Who has sent His Messenger (Muhammad ) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islam), that He may make it (Islam) superior over all religions. And All-Sufficient is Allah as a Witness. (Al Fateh: 28) He it is Who has sent His Messenger (Muhammad ) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islamic Monotheism) to make it victorious over all (other) religions even though the Mushrikun (polytheists, pagans, idolaters, and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah and in His Messenger Muhammad ) hate (it). (As Saf: 9) 1) Isaiah 7:14: “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.”I have explained the verse in one of the threads but would still do the needful here. The above verse has nothing to do with Jesus. The problem there is you read and pick a verse in Isolation but here is the full gist for your eyes, ears and to ponder on because that day is not a child's play. He who sees the truth and accept does so for his own soul and he who rejects the truth, does so at his own peril. Isaiah 7 1 During the reign of Ahaz son of Jotham and grandson of Uzziah, Jerusalem was attacked by King Rezin of Aram and King Pekah of Israel, the son of Remaliah. The city withstood the attack, however, and was not taken. Hope you can see what led to the prophecy?[/b] 2 The news had come to the royal court: [b]"Aram is allied with Israel against us!" So the hearts of the king and his people trembled with fear, just as trees shake in a storm. Hope you understood the above?[/color] 3 Then the LORD said to Isaiah, "Go out to meet King Ahaz, you and your son Shear-jashub. You will find the king at the end of the aqueduct that feeds water into the upper pool, near the road leading to the field where cloth is bleached. God told Isaiah to meet King Ahaz[color=#990000] 4 Tell him to stop worrying. Tell him he doesn't need to fear the fierce anger of those two burned-out embers, King Rezin of Aram and Pekah son of Remaliah. King Ahaz was afraid of the attack on Jerusalem but God told Isaiah to look for him and tell him not to panick[/color] 5 "Yes, the kings of Aram and Israel are coming against you. They are saying, 6 `We will invade Judah and throw its people into panic. Then we will fight our way into Jerusalem and install the son of Tabeel as Judah's king.' The attacker, King of Aram and Israel said the above but God said: [color=#990000] 7 "But this is what the Sovereign LORD says: This invasion will never happen, 8 because Aram is no stronger than its capital, Damascus. And Damascus is no stronger than its king, Rezin. As for Israel, within sixty-five years it will be crushed and completely destroyed. 9 Israel is no stronger than its capital, Samaria. And Samaria is no stronger than its king, Pekah son of Remaliah. You do not believe me? If you want me to protect you, learn to believe what I say." 10 Not long after this, the LORD sent this message to King Ahaz: It seems King Ahaz was not stisfied with what God said and God now told him to request for a sign:[/color] 11 "Ask me for a sign, Ahaz, to prove that I will crush your enemies as I have promised. Ask for anything you like, and make it as difficult as you want." But the king refused:[color=#990000] 12 But the king refused. "No," he said, "I wouldn't test the LORD like that." 13 Then Isaiah said, "Listen well, you royal family of David! You aren't satisfied to exhaust my patience. You exhaust the patience of God as well! Isaiah made the above statement and God now said to them with regards to King Ahz and the sign to show him:[/color] 14 All right then, the Lord himself will choose the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel--`God is with us.' Now, let us see if its for Jesus:[color=#990000] 15 By the time this child is old enough to eat curds and honey, he will know enough to choose what is right and reject what is wrong. Good, here it is, the prophecy ws not for him but the King because Aram and Israel attacked Jerusalem during the reign of King Ahaz and there ws nobody like Arm during Jesus' time but King Herod.[/color] 16 But before he knows right from wrong, the two kings you fear so much--the kings of Israel and Aram--will both be dead. 17 "The LORD will bring a terrible curse on you, your nation, and your family. You will soon experience greater terror than has been known in all the years since Solomon's empire was divided into Israel and Judah. The mighty king of Assyria will come with his great army!" Did you see the above? Did any king of Assyria come during Jesus' time? Was any terrible curse brought on the nation during his time?[color=#990000] Let me stop here having established the truth: 20 In that day the Lord will take this "razor"--these Assyrians you have hired to protect you--and use it to shave off everything: your land, your crops, and your people. |
Be a Muslim today or die as unbeliever. The true religion with Allah is Islam and if anybody desire any religion apart from Islam, it would never be accepted from him and would be among the loser on judgment day. |
I will Insha Allah break down the biblical verses for you when less busy. Stay tuned. ![]() |
@Deepzone/Redhotchic A must thread for you and when you are through, you may forward your questions to me and it would be answered since you claimed ignorance of the Quran and was even told in your church not to have anything with Islam. If you dont research it, how would you know the truth as your book says ,'know the truth and it would set you free' as 'God is not author of confusion' giving messengers different messages. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-198177.64.html |
@Deepzone aka RedHotChic Is it the same Jesus you claimed was a slave in the other thread? who lifts their slave up abeg? HuhHis creator, Allah lifted him up not allowing him to face a shameful death. Yes he is slave and messenger of Allah sent to the house of Israel. I've told you before that christianity is not a religious entity.Ok. So its not compulsory to be a christian even if one believe in Jesus? Do you as a christian believe that a non christian that believes that Jesus exists would gain paradise? we are followers of Christ just like Americans are people from America. Will you ask me whether christopher Columbus that discovered America was an American?Since you are followers of christ. Did Jesus bring a religion called christianity and did he ever hear the word 'christian'? Since Jesus couldnt have possibly be a christian from your statement up, did he came with something different from those before him? Good. In what way did I go against his teaching and where DID HE tell you to accept him as your personal saviour and Lord.If dem wake me from sleep, I sabi this one very well. For God so love the world, that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him would not perish but have everlasting life. Most christians I ask for the person that said the above statement didnt get. They told me that it was Jesus, not knowing that it was said by John. He said the above so that you may believe him. Do this little research, go through the NT and would never see it anywhere where other gospellers use the word' the only begotten son' but it is this John that used it even in the epistles of John. 6This is the thread https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-150255.0.html where you claimed that you would become a Muslim if furnished with proofs but you never did when served same. Is Jesus really the only begotten son? https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-150255.64.html Read your bible in john 14:6."Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."I have treated it before. He happened to be the light of the world when he is still alive but when he dies, another light takes over and thats how prophets and messengers have been operating. I don't rememberThis is it https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-150255.64.html Was Christopher Columbus American?. Are moslems not the followers of mohammed? How did the men above follow mohammed besides, these men were in existence before our new covenant with God through Christ. Their religion is irrelevant.https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-150255.0.html https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-150255.64.html Mohammed will have remained dead like Jesus of oyinbo if he tried that stunt and he knew thats why he didn't tamper it. Mohammed was human but Jesus was God that came in human flesh. In what way was he your God? Who did he shout to on the cross? You can say it again but it's better and easier to believe than to hate.Thats one thing I got to know from you christians. Ifa christian preaches or discuss with Muslims, you would say he/she is evangelising and preaching the word of God but if comes tries that, you give them different names. In what way did I hate? Can you do the three days and nights calculation for me Does a spirit eat and drink like humans? |
Salam all Your contribution would be highly appreciated. DREAMS By Shaad Ahmed Dreams are broken into three parts according to the Sunnah: Ru'yaa - good visions (dreams) Hulum - bad dreams Dreams from one's self Abu Hurayrah narrated Muhammad (S) said, "There are three types of dreams: a righteous dream which is glad tidings from Allah, the dream which causes sadness is from Shaitan, and a dream from the ramblings of the mind. (Sahih Muslim) True/Good Dreams We can see true dreams are from Allah Ta'aala as Muhammad (S) said, "True dreams are from Allah, and bad dreams are from Shaitan." (Sahih Al-Bukhari) True believers are more likely to happen to those who are truthful in their lives as Muhammad (S) said, "Those of you with the truest dreams will be those who are most truthful in speech" (Sahih Muslim) Good dreams are also from Allah Ta'aala. Prophet Muhammad (S) said, "If anyone of you has a dream that he likes then it is from Allah. He should thank Allah for it and narrate it to others." (Sahih Al-Bukhari) Good deeds consist of people doing Halaal (lawful) acts. One should share their dreams with those they like as Muhammad (S) said, "If one sees a good dream, let him expect good, and not tell it except to those he likes." (Muslim) An example of this is Yaqoob (AS) telling his son, Yusuf (AS) concerning his dream about eleven stars and the sun and the moon prostrating to him (scholars have said the eleven stars were his brothers, and the sun and the moon represented his mother and father): "He said, "O my son! Relate not your vision to your brothers lest they arrange a plot against you. Verily! Satan is to man an open enemy." (Surah Yusuf 12:5) We know the half-brothers of Yusuf were jealous of him to begin with so telling them the dream would probably only serve to increase the jealousy. Muhammad (S) also told us, "Nothing is left of prophethood except glad tidings." Those with him asked, "What are glad tidings?" He (S) replied, "Good dreams." (Sahih Al-Bukhari) Bad Dreams As stated above bad dreams are from Shaitan. Muhammad (S) told us what to do upon seeing a bad dream. "So when one of you sees a dream which he does not like, he should spit on his left side three times, seek refuge with Allah from Shaitan thrice, and change the side which he was lying (Sahih Muslim) and in another narration in Muslim, Muhammad (S) told us if we spit three times and seek refuge from Allah then it (the dream) will not harm them." (Sahih Muslim) Muhammad (S) also told us that if we saw a bad dream to "stand up and offer prayer." (Sahih Muslim) Bad Dreams Should Not Be Disclosed Muhammad (S) said, , If he has a dream that he dislikes, then it is from Shaitan. He should seek refuge with Allah from its evil, and he SHOULD NOT MENTION IT TO ANYBODY, then it will not harm him." (Sahih Al-Bukhari) If one does tell somebody about the bad dream then there could be the chance that some harm will come out of it. Dreams from One's Self These dreams come from one's thoughts and are neither from Allah or Shaitan. Lying About Dreams Prophet Muhammad (S) said, "Indeed the worst of lies is that of a person who falsely claims to have dream." (Sahih Al-Bukhari) also 'Whoever claims to have dream which he did not have, will be ordered to tie two barley grains together, which he will never be able to do; and if somebody eavesdrop on some people's conversation which they didn't want him to hear or they tried to keep away from him, then molten lead will be poured into his ears on the Day of Resurrection; and whosoever makes a picture (of a being with a soul) will be punished on the Day of Resurrection and (will) be ordered to put a soul in it, which he will not be able to do." (Sahih Al-Bukhari) This is only a short article, but it is hoped this is beneficial to all that reads it, and it will erase some misconceptions people have about dreams. It is also hoped this will stop some practices people do upon seeing good or bad dreams which are not found in the Qur'an or Sunnah. Anything correct is from Allah Ta'aala and anything incorrect is from myself. MEANING OF DREAMS "True dreams are from Allah and bad dreams are from satan" [Sahih of Bukhari, Vol 9 p 95, no 113] BRIEF INTRODUCTION Most books on dream interpretation are either attributed to Muhammad ibn Seereen (653-729 CE): english publication of Muhammad Al Akili's 508 page work entitled 'Ibn Seerin's Dictionary of Dreams: According to Islamic Innertraditions' in 1992, followed shortly thereafter by 'Dreams and Interpretations' by Ibn Seereen. However, Ibn Seereen, without a shaddow of a doubt, did not write any book on dream interpretation. He did, however, write a compilation of Abu Huraira's narrations from the Prophet (pbuh) along with the opinions of Abu Huraira. This text was kept by his brother, Yahyaa ibn Seereen, because Muhammed ibn Seereen, in his later days, did not like to keep books. [Tareekh, vol 2 p 14b by Yaqoob al Fasawee and quoted in Studies in Early hadith literature p 38] NOTE: In the below narrations there was mention of the Prophets, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon them all; mentioning of the companions (male and female), may Allah be pleased with them; and of course mentioning of dreams. We should be careful to realise that in many of the explanations above the reference is to 'may', that is, seeing such a thing in a dream 'MAY' indicate that 'such and such' was seen. Thus as none of us have the fortune of being a Prophet, nor do we have the fortune of being in the company of Prophet Joseph - who excelled in dream interpretation - we should consider the matters above with caution. General Dreams ATHAAN (call to prayer): Seeing oneself giving the call to prayer may indicate one's plans for Hajj will succeed. [Sharh as Sunnah vol 12 p 224] Based on: "Proclaim the Hajj to mankind" [Surah al Hajj (22): 27] BATHING: Dreaming of oneself bathing in cool water may refer to Allah's acceptance of one's repentance, a cure from sickness and/or the lifting of a calamity. [Sharh as Sunnah vol 12 p 220] Based on: Verses referring to Prophet Job (Ayoob) "This is a cool water to bathe in and a refreshing drink. And I returned his family to him, and along with them a similar number of additional offspring" [Surah Saad (38): 42-43] BIRDS: Seeing birds flying or circling over one's head in a dream may indicate the attainment of an administrative post. [Sharh as Sunnah vol 12 p 221] Based on: Verses referring to Prophet David (Daoud) "The birds assembled, and all (with David) turned to (Allah in praise and repentance) and I strengthened his dominion" [Surah Saad (38_: 19-20] BLOWING: Blowing away something or someone disliked in a dream indicates that the problem will soon be eliminated. [Sahih of Muslim, Sharh an Nawawee vol 8 p 39] Based on: Abu Huraira (ra) quoted Prophet Muhammad saying "While sleeping, I saw two gold bangles on my hands. This disturbed me, but I was inspired to blow on them, so I blew on them and they flew away. I interpreted the two bangles as the two great liars who would appear after me, and one of them is al Ansee from Sanaa, and the other, Musaylimah, from Yamaamah" [Sahih of Muslim, vol 4 pp 1228-9 no 5650] CLOTHING/COVER: Seeing clothing or a cover in a dream may refer to a husband or wife according to the metaphor 'libaas' (meaning: clothing/cover). [Sharh as Sunnah vol 12 p 221] Based on: "They (wives) are a cover for you and you are a cover for them" [Surah al Baqara (2): 187] COWS: Fat cows indicate a good yield of harvest while lean cows indicate a poor yield. Based on: Prophet Joseph's (Yusuf's) dream "O Joseph!" (he said) "O man of truth! expound to us (the dream) of seven fat kind whom seven lean ones devour and of seven green ears of corn and (seven) others withered: that I may return to the people and that they may understand." (Joseph) said: "For seven years shall ye diligently sow as is your wont: and the harvests that ye reap ye shall leave them in the ear except a little of which ye shall eat. "Then will come after that (period) seven dreadful (years) which will devour what ye shall have laid by in advance for them (all) except a little which ye shall have (specially) guarded. "Then will come after that (period) a year in which the people will have abundant water and in which they will press (wine and oil)." [Surah Yusuf (12): 46-49] DATES: If one sees fresh Ibn Taab dates in a dream, it indicates that one's practise of the religion will become better. Based on: Anas ibn Malik (ra) quoted Prophet Muhammad saying "Last night I dreamt that we were in the house of Uqbah ibn Raafi and were brought some Ibn Taab fresh dates. I interpreted it as meaning that eminence in this world will be granted to us, a blessed hereafter, and that our religion has become good" [Sahih of Muslim, vol 4 p 1228 no 5647; Sunan of Abu Dawood, vol 3 p 1397 no 5007] NB The Prophet derived the concept of a blessed hereafter (aaqibah) from the name Uqbah, he derived the eminence (rifah) from the name Raafi, and he derived becoming good i.e. complete (taaba) from the name Taab. Dreaming of oneself eating ripe dates, acquiring them, etc. may signify Allah's granting of provision, or a reminder to pay charity, or a reminder to avoid extravagance. Based on: "It is He who produces gardens with trellises and without and dates and tilth with produce of all kinds and olives and pomegranates similar (in kind) and different (in variety): eat of their fruit in their season but render the dues that are proper on the day that the harvest is gathered. But waste not by excess: for Allah loveth not the wasters" [Surah al Anaam (6): 141] DOOR: Seeing oneself enter a door or a gate in a dream, may refer to the successful completion of a project, or the winning of an argument. [Sharh as Sunnah vol 12 p 221] Based on: Enter upon them though the gate. For when you enter victory will be yours" [Surah al Maidah (5): 23] Opening a door in a dream may refer to the acceptance of a supplication or the need to make one, according to the derivation of the word 'istiftaah', [Sharh as Sunnah vol 12 p 220] Based on: "If you ask for a judgement, the judgement has come" (In tastaftihu faqad ja akumul fathu) [Surah al Anfaal ( : 19] EGG: Seeing an egg in a dream may refer to a woman, according to the metaphor used in Quran referring to the maidens of paradise. [Sharh as Sunnah vol 12 p 220] Based on: "And they will have with them chaste females with lowered, large, beautiful eyes; delicate and pure, like well preserved hidden eggs" [Surah as Saaffaat (37): 48-9] ELEVATION: Seeing onself in a dream either elevated, ascending or in the sky may refer to an elevation in status or rank (rifah). [Sharh as Sunnah vol 12 p 220] Based on Prophet Idrees, where the word 'rafanaa' is used "And I raised him to a high station" (Wa rafanahu makanan aliy ya) [Surah Maryam (19): 57] FLOWING SPRINGS: A flowing spring in a dream indicates continued reward for one's good deeds. Based on: Kharijah ibn Zaid ibn Thabit (ra) narrated that, Um Al-'Ala an Ansari woman who had given the Pledge of allegiance to Allah's Apostle said, (Uthman bin Maz'un came in our share when the Ansars drew lots to distribute the emigrants (to dwell) among themselves. He became sick and we looked after (nursed) him till he died. Then we shrouded him in his clothes. Allah's Apostle came to us. I (addressing the dead body) said, 'May Allah's Mercy be on you, O Aba As-Sa'ib! I testify that Allah has honored you.' The Prophet said, 'How do you know that?' I replied, 'I do not know, by Allah.' He said, 'As for him, death has come to him and I wish him all good from Allah. By Allah, though I am Allah's Apostle, I neither know what will happen to me, nor to you.( Um Al-'Ala said, "By Allah, I will never attest the righteousness of anybody after that." She added, "Later I saw in a dream, a flowing spring for 'Uthman. So I went to Allah's Apostle and mentioned that to him. He said, 'That is (the symbol of) his good deeds (the reward for) which is going on for him.' [Sahih of Bukhari, vol 9 pp119-20 no 145] FURNISHING: Seeing furniture and rugs in a dream may indicate the coming of a time of rest or a break from a period of difficulty or it may imply the attainment of an administrative office which was sought. [Sharh as Sunnah, vol 12 p 221] Based on: "Reclining on couches lined with brocade and the fruits from the two gardens will be nearby" [Surah ar Rahman (55): 54] Furnishing in a dream may also symbolise women and children. Based on: "They will be on elevated couches. And I have specifically created them virgins who will love husbands of equal age" [Surah al Waaqiah (56): 34-37] GARDEN: Seeing a garden in a dream indicates the richness of Islam. Based on: Abdullah ibn Salaam said: (In a dream) I saw myself in a garden, and there was a pillar in the middle of the garden, and there was a handhold at the top of the pillar. I was asked to climb it. I said, "I cannot." Then a servant came and lifted up my clothes and I climbed (the pillar), and then got hold of the handhold, and I woke up while still holding it. I narrated that to the Prophet who said, "The garden symbolizes the garden of Islam, and the handhold is the firm Islamic handhold which indicates that you will be adhering firmly to Islam until you die." [Sahih of Bukhari, vol 9 p 117 no 142] GIFT: Recieving a gift in a dream may indicate a blessing of happiness. [Sharh as Sunnah, vol 12 p 221] Based on: "Indeed you are happy with your gift" [Surah an Naml (27): 36] GOLD: Being given gold or finding gold may indicate finding a suitable wife or a successful marriage. The symbolism is derived when the Prophet restricted ornaments of gold to women. Based on: Abdullab ibn Zurrayr related that he heard Ali ibn Abi Talib say that the Prophet took some silk in his right hand and some gold in his left hand. Then he said, "These two are forbidden to the males of my nation" [Sunan of Abu Dawood, vol 3 p 1133 no 4046; an Nasaee and Ahmad] HAJJ: Hearing oneself congratulated on doing Hajj or Umrah indicates that it went well. Based on: Abu Jamra Nasr bin 'Imran Ad-Duba'i said, "I intended to perform Hajj-at-Tamattu' and the people advised me not to do so. I asked Ibn Abbas regarding it and he ordered me to perform Hajj-at-Tammatu'. Later I saw in a dream someone saying to me, 'Hajj-Mabrur (Hajj performed in accordance with the Prophet's tradition without committing sins and accepted by Allah) and an accepted 'Umra.' So I told that dream to Ibn Abbas. He said, 'This is the tradition of Abul-Qasim.' Then he said to me, 'Stay with me and I shall give you a portion of my property.' " I (Shu'ba) asked, "Why (did he invite you)?" He (Abu Jamra) said, "Because of the dream which I had seen." [Sahih of Bukhari, vol 2 p 373 no 638] Hajj-at-Tammatu: this is Umrah combined with Hajj in which the pilgrim is allowed to leave his state of consecration (ihraam) after the completion of the Umrah Hajj-Mabrur: which means 'may your Hajj be righteous' Abdul-Qasim: this was Prophet Muhammad's nickname, derived from the name of his son, al Qaasim HAND-HOLD: Grasping a hand-hold in a dream indicates that one will continue to hold firmly to Islam. Based on: Abdullah bin Salaam said: (In a dream) I saw myself in a garden, and there was a pillar in the middle of the garden, and there was a handhold at the top of the pillar. I was asked to climb it. I said, "I cannot." Then a servant came and lifted up my clothes and I climbed (the pillar), and then got hold of the handhold, and I woke up while still holding it. I narrated that to the Prophet who said, "The garden symbolizes the garden of Islam, and the handhold is the firm Islamic handhold which indicates that you will be adhering firmly to Islam until you die." [Sahih of Bukhari, vol 9 p 117 no 142] KEYS: Seeing keys in one’s hand, or receiving keys in a dream, indicates the receipt of administrative authority. [Saheeh Muslim: Sharh an Nawawee, vol 8 p 39] Based on: Abu Huraira said: The Prophet said, "I have been given the keys of eloquent speech and given victory with awe (cast into the hearts of the enemy), and while I was sleeping last night, the keys of the treasures of the earth were brought to me till they were put in my hand." Abu Huraira added: Allah's Apostle left (this world) and now you people are carrying those treasures from place to place. [Sahih of Bukhari, vol 9 p 106 no 127; Sahih of Muslim, vol 1 p 266 no 1063] LAUGHING: Dreaming of oneself laughing in a dream may refer to the arrival of good news, good times. [Sharh as Sunnah, vol 12 p 221] Based on: "Some faces on that day will be bright, laughing and rejoicing at the good news" [Surah Abasa ( : 38-9] LEG IRONS: Seeing oneself bound in leg-irons indicates stability in the religion. Based on: Muhammad ibn Seereen said: "Abu Huraira hated to see neck irons (metallic neck collars) in a dream, and people generally liked to see leg-irons. Leg-irons were said to symbolise one's constant and form adherence to religion" [Sahih of Bukhari, vol 9 p 118-9 no 144] Imam an Nawawee noted that the reason shakles (qayd) on the feet were liked was because they indicate avoiding sin and evil (i.e. the feet are prevented from taking the body to corruption). On the other hand, shackles (ghull) on theneck is one of the characteristics of those in Hell (Quran 13:5, 34:33, 36:8 and 40:71). [Sharh an Nawawee, vol 8 p 28] MAKKAH: Seeing oneself entering Makkah in a dream may refer to a state of security and peace. [Sharh as Sunnah, vol 12 p 221] Based on: "Whoever enters Makkah will be secure" [Surah al Imran (3): 97] MARRIAGE: Dreaming of oneself getting married may indicate an impeding marriage. If there are no marriage plans at the time of the dream, one may propose to the women shown in the dream. Based on: Aisha said: Allah's Apostle said to me, "You were shown to me twice (in my dream) before I married you. I saw an angel carrying you in a silken piece of cloth, and I said to him, 'Uncover (her),' and behold, it was you. I said (to myself), 'If this is from Allah, then it must happen.'Later I dreamt of the angel carrying someone in a silken piece of cloth, and I said (to him), 'Uncover (her),' and behold, it was you. I said (to myself), 'If this is from Allah, then it must happen.' " [Sahih of Bukhari, vol 9 p 115-6 no 140] MILK: Receiving milk in a dream means that religious knowledge has been granted. Based on: Abdullah ibn Umar said: Allah's Apostle said, "While I was sleeping, I was given a bowl full of milk (in the dream) and I drank from it (to my fill) till I noticed its wetness coming out of my limbs. Then I gave the rest of it to 'Umar bin Al-Khattab." The persons sitting around him, asked, "What have you interpreted (about the dream) O Allah's Apostle?" He said, "It is (religious) knowledge." [Sahih of Bukhari, vol 9 p 112 no 135] MOUNTAINS: Seeing mountains in a dream means that you are going to Canada. LOL – just joking to see if anyone has made it this far. Seeing mountains in a dream may indicate the attainment of an administrative post. Based on: Verses to Prophet David "Indeed, I made the mountains glorify our praises along with David in the evening andin the morning, and I strengthened his dominion" [Surah Saad (38): 18 & 20] PEARLS: Dreaming of pearls may indicate Allah's granting of a mater, male or female, which refer to the young men and women of paradise granted to the believers. Based on: "And their will be large eyed maidens like hidden pearls" [Surah al Waqiah (56): 22-3] "And there will be young men of perpetual youth serving them; if you saw the youths, you would think that they were scattered pearls" [Surah al Insaan (76): 19] RECONCILIATION: Seeing a reconciliation in a dream may refer to a good settlement of one's affairs. [Sharh as Sunnah, vol 12 p 221] Based on: "There is nothing wrong in making peace between themselves, for reconciliation is better" [Surah an Nisa (4): 128] RIGHT SIDE: If one dreams of being led to the right side of a location, it indicates achieving a state of security or an escape from harm. Based on: Ibn Umar said: Men from the companions of Allah's Apostle used to see dreams during the lifetime of Allah's Apostle and they used to narrate those dreams to Allah's Apostle. Allah's Apostle would interpret them as Allah wished. I was a young man and used to stay in the mosque before my wedlock. I said to myself, "If there were any good in myself, I too would see what these people see." So when I went to bed one night, I said, "O Allah! If you see any good in me, show me a good dream." So while I was in that state, there came to me (in a dream) two angels. In the hand of each of them, there was a mace of iron, and both of them were taking me to Hell, and I was between them, invoking Allah, "O Allah! I seek refuge with You from Hell." Then I saw myself being confronted by another angel holding a mace of iron in his hand. He said to me, "Do not be afraid, you will be an excellent man if you only pray more often." So they took me till they stopped me at the edge of Hell, and behold, it was built inside like a well and it had side posts like those of a well, and beside each post there was an angel carrying an iron mace. I saw therein many people hanging upside down with iron chains, and I recognized therein some men from the Quraish. Then (the angels) took me to the right side. I narrated this dream to (my sister) Hafsa and she told it to Allah's Apostle. Allah's Apostle said, "No doubt, 'Abdullah is a good man." (Nafi' said, "Since then 'Abdullah bin 'Umar used to pray much.)" [Sahih of Bukhari, vol 9 p 127-8 no 155] Hafsah was his sister and she was also one of the Prophet's wives Nafi was the freed slave of Ibn Umar, who became his student and one of the most outstanding scholars of his time ROOM: Dreaming of oneself in a room or in different rooms, may refer to being safefrom what one fears. Based on: "They will reside in rooms in peace and security" [Surah Saba (34): 37] ROPE: Seeing a rope in a dream and grabbing hold of it, may indicate one's adherance to the covenant with God and Islam. [Sharh as Sunnah, vol 12 p 220] Based on: "Hold on firmly to the rope of Allah and do not become divided" [Surah al Imran (3): 103] RULER: Being addressed by a ruler in a dream may refer to the attainment of a high post or rank. [Sharh as Sunnah vol 12 p 220] "When he (the ruler) spoke to him, he said, 'Indeed, today you are considered an established, trustworthy person'" [Surah Yusuf (12): 54] SEXUAL INTERCOURSE: Dreams of sexual intercourse are fundamentally satanic and therefore not interpretable. However, they may only be classified as good dreams if the people involved are married. If a person has an orgasm while dreaming, taking a complete ritual bath (ghusl) is obligatory on that individual to attain the state of purity (taharaah) necessary to make formal prayers. Anas ibn Malik reported that Umm Sulaym came to the Prophet while he was with Aisha and asked him, "O Messenger of Allah, when a woman sees and experiences in a dream what a ma does, what should she do?". Aisha remarked, "O Umm Sulaym, you have humiliated women, May your righthandbe covered in dust". The Prophet said to Aisha, "May your right hand be covered in dust". He then said to Umm Sulaym, "O Umm Sulaym, she should take ghusl if she sees any discharge" [Sahih of Muslim, vol 1 p 178 no 607] Right hand be covered in dust: this is an Arabic statement of disapproval SHIP: Seeing a ship in a dream may mean success or escape. [Sharh as Sunnah, vol 12 p 220] Based on: Prophet Noah "Then I saved him and those with him in the shop, and made it a lesson for all of the worlds" [Surah al Ankaboot (29): 15] SHIRT: Wearing a shirt in a dream indicates adherences to the religion. The longer the shirt, the greater commitment to Islam. Abu Said ul Khudri said: I heard Allah's Apostle saying, "While I was sleeping, I saw (in a dream) the people being displayed before me, wearing shirts, some of which (were so short that it) reached as far as their breasts and some reached below that. Then 'Umar bin Al-Khattab was shown to me and he was wearing a shirt which he was dragging (behind him)." They asked. What have you interpreted (about the dream), O Allah's Apostle?" He said, "The religion." [Sahih of Bukhari, vol 9 p 113-4 no 137] SILK CLOTH: Receiving or giving silk cloth in a dream may indicate impending marriage. Since silk garments are restricted to women, dreaming about silk may be symbolic of a woman. Based on: Aisha said "Allah's Apostle said to me, "You were shown to me twice (in my dream) before I married you. I saw an angel carrying you in a silken piece of cloth, and I said to him, 'Uncover (her),' and behold, it was you. I said (to myself), 'If this is from Allah, then it must happen.' Then you were shown to me, the angel carrying you in a silken piece of cloth, and I said (to him), 'Uncover (her),' and behold, it was you. I said (to myself), 'If this is from Allah, then it must happen.' " [Sahih of Bukhari vol 9 p 115-6 no 140] Dreaming of oneself flying in paradise holding a piece of silk cloth indicates righteousness in the individual. Based on: Ibn Umar said: I saw in a dream a piece of silken cloth in my hand, and in whatever direction in Paradise I waved it, it flew, carrying me there. I narrated this (dream) to (my sister) Hafsa and she told it to the Prophet who said, (to Hafsa), "Indeed, your brother is a righteous man," or, "Indeed, 'Abdullah is a righteous man." [Sahih of Bukhari, vol 9 p 118 no 143] SWORD: Seeing a sword in a dream refers to one's companions and supporters coming to their aid. [Saheeh Muslim: Sharh an Nawawee, vol 8 p 38] Based on: Abu Musa said: The Prophet said, "I saw in a dream that I waved a sword and it broke in the middle, and behold, that symbolized the casualties the believers suffered on the Day (of the battle) of Uhud. Then I waved the sword again, and it became better than it had ever been before, and behold, that symbolized the Conquest (of Mecca) which Allah brought about and the gathering of the believers." [Sahih of Bukhari, vol 9 p 133-4 no 164] DREAMS IN THE MEASUREMENT OF ISLAM By Imam Su'oud Ash-Shuraim Summary: 1) People’s desire to talk about the unseen. 2) No one knows the unseen except Allaah. 3) People’s interest in dreams. 4) The position of educated people and intellectuals regarding dreams. 5) The position of Islamic scholars regarding dreams. 6) The reason for people’s interest in dreams in the present time. 7) The Prophet’s way in dealing with dreams. The three types of dreams are: 1) True dreams. 2) Satanic dreams. 3) Whispers of the soul. 9) Dreams cannot be bases for Islamic rulings or judgment of people. 10) The conditions of dream interpreters and their etiquettes. 11) The danger and evil consequence of interpreting dreams through satellite channels and general people’s gatherings. First Khutbah O people! The son of Aadam has a great desire and an enflamed interest regarding the unseen, whether it is related to the past or the future, and refusing to accept that such a phenomenon exists, is ignoring a fact of life. People’s obsession with such phenomena is related to how close they are to the Sunnah of the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam and Qur’aan which firmly addressed this subject and clarified it, as Allaah says, which means, “(He is) Knower of the unseen, and He does not disclose His (knowledge of the) unseen, Except whom He has approved of as messengers, and indeed, He sends before him (i.e. each messenger) and behind him observers” (Al-Jinn: 26-27). It is no wonder that the further people are from the time of prophet hood, the more confused they become and mix facts regarding the issue of the unseen, and the more eager people with weak souls become to know the unseen. Some believe in illusions as facts, others accept what fortune-tellers say, and others guess and speak about the unseen during all times while the verses from the Qur’aan are recited before them day and night, like the saying of Allaah, which means, “Say, ' None in the heavens and earth knows the unseen except Allah and they do not perceive when they will be resurrected.'” (An-Naml: 65) as well as the sayings of the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam, like the Hadeeth where he said, “Five things only Allaah knows, and he recited the verse (the meaning of which is) “Indeed, Allaah (alone) has knowledge of the hour and sends down the rain and knows what is in the wombs. And no soul perceives what it will earn tomorrow and no soul perceives in what land it will die. Indeed, Allaah is Knowing and Acquainted” (Luqmaan: 34)” Thus, it is not possible to know the unseen or address it, except through what Allaah has told us, or what He revealed to His Messenger sallaalhu ‘alaihi wa sallam. Anything other than this would be guesses and illusions, or a mixture of words conveyed to people by some Jinn. Islam removes confusion and illusions from the mind and guides those who stray from the straight path. Believing in the unseen cannot be equated with believing in fantasies. Those who survive this phenomenon, get trapped by their eagerness to know the future, which they think is a major factor in deciding the stability and instability of their lives, so they try to reach that through dreams. You might meet a brother (in faith) or a friend and be greeted with a gloomy or cheerful face, but you would be surprised to discover that this disposition is due to a dream which they have seen in their sleep. Slaves of Allaah! This issue is not only the concern of individuals or common people, but many eminent figures join them in this concern. Dreams have disturbed many great people, and other dreams came as glad tidings to many others. Some dreams became the concern of nations, like the dream of the king of Egypt, which the Qur’aan told of in the story of Prophet Yoosuf, peace be upon him. His dream included both glad tidings and warnings at the same time; it gave glad tidings of the increase in provisions for seven consecutive years, then warned against famine for the following seven years. Slaves of Allaah! Dreams have had great importance in people’s lives before and after Islam. Educated people and intellectuals might differ in the way they view dreams and judge their issue. Philosophers have rejected that dreams have any meaning at all and claimed that dreams result from the reactions which take place in the body and reflect the state of mind. Some psychiatrists have a negative stance towards dreams, which is actually very close to that of the philosophers. They refer it to the mood of people and certain parts of their memory which become hyper during sleep, making dreams purely biological. On the other hand, Islam and its scholars have followed the prophetic path in dealing with dreams, and have judged dreams according to the Qur’aan and the Sunnah. They have ruled that true dreams are from Allaah, some warn and others bring glad tidings. Ibn Mas’ood, may Allaah be pleased with him, narrated that the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam, said, “Prophecy is finished but tidings remain” people asked, ‘What are these tidings?’ he sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam replied, “A true dream which a man sees, or others see for him” (Bukhaari & Maalik). These tidings could be good or bad as Allaah says, which means, “So give them tidings of a painful doom” (Al-Inshiqaaq: 24). Slaves of Allaah! These dreams are the ones which the truthful and trustworthy sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said about them that, “At the end of time, the believer’s dream will rarely be incorrect; the more truthful a person is, the truer his dreams are; and the dream of a faithful believer is a part of the forty six parts of Prophecy” (Bukhaari & Muslim). In this era, many people’s hearts have little attachment to Allaah. Belief in divine decree, pre-destiny and that whatever Allaah wants happens and whatever He does not will not happen, and that everything happens with His command…all these aspects of belief have become weak in people’s hearts. Due to this, their hearts have become more attached to the issue of dreams, and in this way, they have differed from the righteous generations of our Salaf. They have started talking about this issue more and relying on it, until it has reached a level where it has overwhelmed people’s discussions in their gatherings, on satellite channels and religious inquiries, so much so that people ask more about dreams than they ask about matters of religion, and what should and should not be done by a Muslim. These practices take place while people are heedless of what they should do regarding dreams, and how they should deal with them based on the prophetic instructions, which one should not transgress nor ignore. The Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam left us with a clear religion, and he sufficed us regarding the issue of dreams, talking about it, getting attached to it, seeking to find out its interpretation or relying on it. People’s increased inquiries about dreams is a form of transgressing the limits set in the Sunnah and an imbalanced approach to the issue. When some people see a dream, their lives become disturbed, and they become terrified and unable to relax until they find someone to interpret it for them so as to discover whether it brings glad tidings or evil news to him. If we stop at the limits which are set for us in the prophetic guidance, then such anxiety would not be felt, and people would not occupy themselves with this subject, which has become a way to attract audiences to the internet and satellite channels. In order to discern the best way of dealing with this widespread phenomenon in our communities, let us listen to some of the etiquettes relating to this issue. Abu Salamah, may Allaah be pleased with him said, ‘I used to see dreams and become sick because of it, until I saw Abu Qutaadah and told him about this. So he said to me, I heard the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam saying, “Good dreams are from Allaah, and bad dreams are from Satan, so if of you see in your dream something which you dislike, then spit three times to your left and seek refuge in Allaah from its evil, then it will not harm you” (Muslim). In another narration Abu Salamah, may Allaah be pleased with him said, ‘I used to see dreams and they would feel heavier on me than a mountain, until I heard this saying of the Prophet, then it never bothered me after that’ (Muslim). Slaves of Allaah! We see that not everything one sees in his sleep is a good dream that needs an interpretation, because what people see in their sleep is one of the three types, as narrated by ‘Awf Ibn Maalik, may Allaah be pleased with him, that the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said, “Dreams are of three types, some are from Satan to sadden the son of Aadam, some are the result of what a person thinks about while he is awake so he sees it in his sleep, and some are one of the forty six parts of prophecy” (Ibn Maajah). Imaam Al-Baghawi said, ‘This Hadeeth proves that not everything which a person sees in his sleep in true and should be interpreted. The correct understanding is that some of it is from Allaah, and the rest are mixed up false dreams which have no interpretation’. An example for these mixed up false dreams is the story of the Bedouin who came to the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam and said, ‘O Messenger of Allaah! I saw in my dream that someone beheaded me, and my head rolled and I started going after it " So the messenger sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said: “Do not inform anyone nor talk to people about whispers that come to you in your dreams from Satan” (Muslim). |
AHADITH ON DOGS Malik Al-Muwatta . Hadith 54.13: Malik related to me from Nafi from Abdullah ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Whoever acquires a dog other than a sheepdog or hunting dog, will have two qirats deducted from the reward of his good actions every day." Sahih Muslim. Hadith 551. Narrated byAbdullah Ibn Mughaffal: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) ordered killing of the dogs and then said: What about them, i.e. about other dogs? - and then granted concession (to keep) the dog for hunting and the dog for (the security) of the herd, and said: When the dog licks the utensil, wash it seven times, and rub it with earth the eighth time. Malik Al-Muwatta. Hadith 31.68: Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Abu Bakr ibn Abd ar-Rahman ibn al-Harith ibn Hisham from Abu Masud al-Ansari that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, forbade the sale price of a dog, the earnings of a prostitute and the earnings of a fortune teller. By the earnings of a prostitute he meant what a woman was given for fornication. The earnings of a fortune teller were what he was given to tell a fortune. Malik said, "I disapprove of the price of a dog, whether it is a hunting dog or otherwise because the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, forbade the price of a dog." Al-Tirmidhi. Hadith 4102. Narrated by Abdullah ibn Mughaffal: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Were dogs not a species of creature I should command that they all be killed; but kill every pure black one." AbuDawud and Darimi transmitted it. Tirmidhi and Nasa'i added, "No family attaches itself to a dog without a qirat of their good deeds being deducted daily, except in the case of a hunting dog, a farm dog, or a sheepdog." Sahih Al-Bukhari 3:515. Narrated Abu Huraira: I heard Allah's Apostle (saw) saying; "Angels (of Mercy) do not enter a house wherein there is a dog or a picture of a living creature (a human being or an animal)." Sahih Muslim. Narrated 'Aisha: Gabriel made a promise with Allah's Messenger (saw) to come at a definite hour; that hour came but he did not visit him. And there was in his hand (in the hand of Allah's Apostle) a staff. He threw it from his hand and said: Never has Allah or His messengers (angels) ever broken their promise. Then he cast a glance (and by chance) found a puppy under his cot and said: Aisha, when did this dog enter here? She said: By Allah, I don't know. He then commanded and it was turned out. Then Gabriel came and Allah's Messenger (saw) said to him: You promised me and I waited for you, but you did not come, whereupon he said: It was the dog in your house which prevented me (to come), for we (angels) do not enter a house in which there is a dog or a picture. KEEPING A DOG IN THE HOUSE From sunnahproductions.comJazakAllahu khair. Answer: Muslim, in his Saheeh, Tirmithi and an-Nissaai narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, may peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Whoever keeps a dog, other than the dogs for hunting, securing agricultural land or livestock, indeed two qeerat (a weight of about .195g) are taken away from his rewards everyday." Saheeh alJamie In this hadith is the prohibition of keeping a dog except for these 3 reasons: hunting, securing livestock and agricultural or farm land. Imam an-Nawawi has mentioned in his explanation of Saheeh Muslim that the scholars have differed regarding the permissiblity of keeping a dog for a necessity that resembles one of the necessities that were just mentioned. Some of them said this rationality is permissible due to qiyas (deduction by analogy) (this is studied in the science of Fiqh) and others said that rationale is not permissible in this instance, acting upon what is evident and apparent in the hadith. Upon this, if it is possible to substitute this doorbell with a stronger one that you will be able to hear, then it is not permissible to keep this dog, if not, then perhaps you have a permission inshallah. As far as the hadith, "Indeed, the Angels do not enter a house that has a dog or an image inside." Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim, Imam an-Nawawi also mentioned that the scholars differed. Is it that the angels of mercy do not enter a house that has a dog (that is haram to keep) only or all dogs in general including the ones that are permissible to keep for the reasons that were mentioned. Allah knows best. But as far as the reason why the Angels do not enter, then this does not concern us. What is important is that they do not enter and when the angels of mercy enter the houses, they cause comfort, tranquillity and barakah (blessings.) Regarding a dog licking a person with his tongue or touching him with his body then this does not invalidate the wudoo according to the majority of the scholars. But they differed in this aspect: Is the dog Najis (filthy) where it is then obligatory to wash the place the dog touched or not? The Malikiyah said : the dog is pure. And this is the predominant opinion. So it is not obligatory to wash the body or the clothes, but he must still wash a bowl that was touched or licked. The Ahnaf and some of the Hanabilah said: His saliva is Najis (filthy) but his body is not. Ashafi'iyah and some of the Hanabilah said: His saliva is Najis and his body is also Najis. Those that ruled with the dog being najis said that one must wash seven times the body and the clothing that was affected by the dog. And some of them said one must only wash the place once with dirt, similarly to when washes the bowl that was affected and Allah knows best. Malikiyah: scholars that took Imam Malik's school of thought Hanabilah: scholars that took Imam Ahmad's school of thought Ahnaf: scholars that took Abu Haneefah's school of thought Ashafi'iyah: schoalrs that took Imam Ashafiee's school of thought KEEPING DOGS WITHOUT NECESSITY By Ahmed Ismail Keeping dogs inside the house without any necessity merely as pets was forbidden by the Prophet (saws). When we observe how lavishly the well-to-do treat their dogs while despising their relatives, and how much attention they give their dogs while neglecting their neighbors, we realize the wisdom of this prohibition. Moreover, the presence of a dog makes the household utensils unhygienic due to their licking of them. The Prophet (saws) said, "If a dog licks a plate (or pot), clean it seven times, of which one time should be with sand (or earth)." (Reported by al-Bukhari.) Some scholars are of the opinion that the reason for prohibiting the keeping of dogs may be because they bark at visitors, scare away the needy who come to ask for charity, and chase and try to bite passers-by. The Prophet (saws) said, Jibril came to me and said, 'I came to you yesterday but what stopped me from entering was that there was a statue at the door, a curtain with figures on it in the house, and a dog inside the house. So order that the head of the statue be broken off so that it resembles the trunk of tree, that the curtain be cut and made into two pillows to recline on, and that the dog be taken out.' (Reported by AbDaoud, al-Nisai, al-Tirmidhi, and by Ibn Hibban in his Sahih.) This prohibition is limited to keeping dogs without need or benefit. The Permissibility of Keeping Hunting Dogs and Watch Dogs Dogs which are kept for a purpose, such as hunting, guarding cattle or crops and the like are exempted from the above ruling. In a hadith reported by both al-Bukhari and Muslim, the Prophet (peace be on him) said, Whoever keeps a dog except for hunting or for guarding crops or cattle will lose one large measure (qirat) of his reward each day. On the basis of this hadith some jurists argue that the keeping of dogs as pets can be classified as makruh rather than haram, as the haram is absolutely prohibited without regard to whether there is a decrease in reward or not. However, the prohibition of keeping dogs in the house does not mean that dogs may be treated cruelly or that they should be eradicated. Referring to the following verse of the Qur'an, There is not an animal on the earth, nor a birdflying upon two wings, but comprise nations like yourselves. (6:38), the Prophet (peace be on him) said, "If dogs were not a nation (ummah) among nations, I would have ordered that they be killed.'' (Reported by Abu Daoud and al-Tirmidhi. (This was said by the Prophet following Jibril's remark that angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog. Trans.)) The Prophet (saws) told his Companions a story concerning a man who found a dog in the desert panting and licking the dust due to thirst. The man went to a well, filled his shoes with water, and relieved the dog's thirst. Said the Messenger of Allah (saws), "Allah appreciated this and forgave him all his sins." (Reported by al-Bukhari.) The Findings of Scientific Research Relative to Keeping Dogs Some lovers of the West in Muslim countries claim to be full of love and compassion for all living creatures and they wonder why Islam warns against this "best friend" of man. For their benefit, we quote here a lengthy excerpt from an article by the German scientist, Dr. Gerard Finstimer, (Translated from the German magazine Kosinos.) in which the author sheds light on the dangers to human health resulting from keeping dogs or coming in contact with them. He says: The increasing interest shown by many people in recent times in keeping dogs as pets has compelled us to draw public attention to the dangers which result from this, especially because pet dogs are hugged and kissed and permitted to lick the hands of the young and the old, and what is worse, to lick the plates and utensils which are used by human beings for eating and drinking. Besides being unhygienic and uncouth, this practice is bad manners and abhorrent to good taste. However, we are not concerned with such matters. Leaving them to be addressed by teachers of etiquette and good taste. Rather this article is intended to present some scientific observations. From the medical point of view, which is our main concern here, the hazards to human health and life from keeping and playing with dogs are not to be ignored. Many people have paid a high price for their ignorance, as the tapeworm carried by dogs is a cause of chronic disease, sometimes resulting in death. This worm is found in man, in cattle, and in pigs, but it is found in fully-developed form only in dogs, wolves and rarely in cats. These worms differ from others in that they are minute and invisible, consequently, they were not discovered until very recently. He continues, Biologically the developmental process of this worm has some unique characteristics. In the lesions caused by them, one worm gives rise to many heads which spread and form other and varied kinds of lesions and abscesses. These heads develop into full-grown worms only in dogs' tonsils. In humans and in other animals they appear as lesions and abscesses completely different from the tapeworm itself In animals the size of an abscess may reach that of an apple, while the liver of the infected animal may grow from five to ten times its normal size. In human beings the size of the abscess may reach that of a clenched fist or even the head of an infant; it is filled with yellow fluid weighing from ten to twenty pounds. In the infected human it may cause diverse kinds of inflammations in the lungs, muscles, spleen, kidneys, and brain, and appears in such different forms that specialists, until very recently, had difficulty in recognizing it. In any case, wherever this inflammation is found, it poses great danger to the health and life of the patient. What is worse is that, in spite of our knowledge of its life history, origin, and development, we have not been able to devise a cure for it, except that in some instances these parasites die out, possibly because of antibodies produced in the human body. Unfortunately, cases in which such parasites die without causing damage are rare indeed. Moreover, chemotherapy has failed to produce any benefit, and the usual treatment is surgical removal of the abscessed parts of the body. For all these reasons we should use all possible resources to fight against this dreadful disease and save man from its dangers. Professor Noeller, through post-mortem dissection of human bodies in Germany, found that the incidence of infection with dogs' worms is at least one percent. In some places such as Dalmatia, Iceland, southeastern Australia, andHolland, where dogs are used for pulling sleds, the incidence rate of tapeworm among dogs is 12 percent. In Iceland the number of people who suffer from the inflammation caused by this worm has reached the rate of 43 percent. If we add to this the human suffering, the loss of meat because of infection of cattle, and the permanent danger to human health because of the presence of tapeworms, we cannot be very complacent toward this problem. Perhaps the best way to combat the problem is to limit the worms to dogs and not let them spread, since in actuality we need to keep some dogs. We should not neglect to treat dogs when necessary by getting rid of the tapeworms in their tonsils and perhaps repeating this process periodically on shepherd dogs and watchdogs. Man can protect his life and health by keeping a safe distance from dogs. He should not hug them, play with them, or let them come close to children. Children should be taught not to play with dogs or to handle them. Dogs should not be permitted to lick children's hands or come to places where they play. Unfortunately, dogs are allowed to roam about everywhere, especially in places where children play, and their bowls are scattered throughout the house. Dogs must have their own separate bowls, and they must not be allowed to lick bowls and plates used by humans. They should not be allowed inside grocery stores, restaurants, or marketplaces. In general, great care must be taken that they do not come in contact with anything which is used by people for eating and drinking. We already know that the Prophet (saws) forbade mixing with dogs, and that he warned against their licking plates and against keeping them without necessity. How is it possible that the teachings of an unlettered Arab, Muhammad, should agree with the latest findings of scientific research? Truly, we cannot say anything except to repeat the words of the Qur'an: Nor does he speak from (his own) desire. It is nothing other than a revelation sent down. (53:3-4) http://www.worldofislam.netfirms.com/dogs.html |
@Cayon I forgot to add this in post but remembered having sent it. My father died in the middle of this year and died while with him. My brother was with him in case he might need something but I stood with my mother to calm her down. The doctor attending to my father told my brother that he should get him something to drink, like fruit juice so that the drugs could work on him. My brother rushed and bought the fruit juice, went inside and came out few minutes called me aside and told me that father is dead. I couldnt believe my ears. By then, one of my siblings came back from where he was sent to and stayed with my mother. When my brother came out to tell the sad news to me, we both wnt inside and told the security operative at the entrance not to allow our mother in so that she would not 'scatter' the whole place and told them security operative to tell her that women are not allowed in. My brother and I went inside to where my father was laid, felt his pulse, recited 'Ina Lillah wa inLah Rajiun, 'It is from thee we come and unto thee we return'. Funny enough, after reciting this, we both stood, looked at our dead father for minutes (maybe thinking within ourselves or not believing our eyes), looked at each other's face and went out. My other siblings that happened to be male too entered, did the same thing, came out without a single drop coming out of our eyes!. When we came out, the next thing was to take our mother home so as not 'scatter' the whole place. Let me stop there as thats not the reason for this thread. I got to my parent's home that day, went to somewhere quiet and cry my heart out. The rwason for the cry is that to me, he didnt eat the fruit of his labour as he is supposed to but at the same time, I was and am happy that he died as a muslim. On the day he was to be buried, after having dug the grave and laid him in, I noticed that most of us that happened to be his male children didnt cry not even when we threw handful of sand on him. We later heard from sympathizers that, 'na wa for these children o, not even a single drop from their eyes', they have hardened hearts etc'. Later after the burial rites when we were together, we asked ourselves, that is, the male children that, 'why didnt we cry at the hospital and at the funeral rite? We told ourselves that , crying till tomorrow would not bring him back but we should prepare him on how to escape the punishment of the grave and increase his good deeds rather than weeping that would have effect on him and not bring him back to life. It is normal for one to cry or show emotion but not the tearing of clothes, refusing to eat, causing scene etc. |
@Cayon Christians believe Jesus is Lord. Muslims accept Jesus as a prophet but do not believe he is Lord, yet. One of these days, they'll come to their sensesI saw this in another thread and felt I should bring it here. You are very correct by saying that Jesus is a prophet and not Lord which happened to be my believe. Do you have any proof to show that he is your Lord and personal savior from the bible and we look into it together? Muslims are with their senses but it is christians that needs to examine and ask themselves if Jesus indeed brought a different religion and preached message different from those of earlier prophets. |
@Cayon Firstly, I would like to tender my sincere condolence on the death of your father. May Allah forgive him his sins and grant his Al-janah (Amin). It is from Him we come and it is to Him we return. 17. Being unable to deal with calamities, for instance crying and yelling in funerals.Quran 3 v 185: Everyone shall taste death. And only on the day of resurrection shall you be paid your wages in full. And whoever is removed away from the fire and admitted to paradise, this person is indeed successful. The life of this world is only the enjoyment of deception:" Quran 29 v 57: " Every soul shall have the taste of death " . You can cry but not continuously cry loudly, wail, take off clothing (such as Hijab), act insane or hysterical, neglect yourself and your family due to your grief, and things of that nature. It is forbidden to weep: Weeping means to yell or cry out loudly. Um-Atia (R.A.) said: "We took an oath before the messenger of Allah not to weep." [Reported by Imams, Bukhari and Muslim]. Also, the dead suffers from and dislikes his family's weeping. The prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) said: "Whosoever is wept upon will suffer as a result of this weeping." (This is because the dead person can hear the crying). [Reported by Imams, Bukhari and Muslim] Fiqh-us-Sunnah, Volume 4: Volume 4, Page 21: Weeping Over the Dead Muslim scholars are agreed that weeping for the dead is permissible, whereas crying and wailing are not[/b]. It is reported in a sound hadith that the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "[b]Allah does not punish a person for shedding tears or feeling pain in his heart. But He does punish, though he may show mercy, because of (what he utters with) this," and then he pointed to his tongue. Weeping aloud and wailing cause pain and suffering to the dead person. It is reported from Ibn 'Umar that when 'Umar was stabbed and he became unconscious the people around him began crying loudly. When he regained consciousness he said to them: "Don't you know that the Messenger of Allah said: 'A dead person is tormented by the wailing of the living'." Al-Mughirah ibn Sh'ubah reports that he heard the Prophet, peace be upon him, saying: "The one who is wailed for is tortured on account of it." The above hadith are reported by Bukhari and Muslim. These hadith mean that a dead person feels pain and displeasure when his family wails over him, for he hears their wailing and their deeds are shown to him. This does not mean that the dead are actually punished and tormented because of the wailing of their families for them, because the Qur'an says that a person is not accountable for the actions of others[/b]. Ibn Jarir reported from Abu Hurairah that he said: "Your deeds are shown to your dead relatives. So if these are good, they are pleased, and if these are bad, they despise them." Ahmad and Tirmizhi reported on the authority of Anas that the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "Your deeds are shown to your dead relatives and kinsfolk. So if these are good they are pleased, and if these are bad they say: 'O Allah! Let them not die until You have guided them to the right path as You guided us before'." [b]Volume 4, Page 22: Wailing over the Dead Wailing refers to mourning in a loud voice and crying in a high pitch, which was prohibited by the Prophet, peace be upon him[/b], . Abu Malik alAsh'ari reported that the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: [b]"Four practices of the pre-Islamic days of Ignorance will continue to be practiced by my ummah: taking pride in one's parentage, giving a person a father other than his own genealogical father, believing that rain is caused by some stars, and wailing over the dead." He further said: "A (professional) mourner, unless she repents before her death, will be raised on the Day of Judgement wearing a garment of tar and an armor of blistering puss." This is narrated by Ahmad and Muslim. |
@Cayon hey Babs787 or OlaYou may ask your question here or create a thread for the benefit of those that would benefit from it. NL may not know that the question is here but creating a thread may make them know that certain question is being asked and as such benefit from it. All the same, it depends on how you would like to go about it. Ask your question and Allah would be there to put us through. Peace |
@Deepzone I am combining your posts. If Jesus did not die, what happened to Him and why did He come?. Do you also believe that Jesus ascended live into heaven?Firstly, he wasnt crucified and was lifted up. He came for the children of Israel. Christians means followers of Christ simple. Was Jesus a Christian? Since followers of christ are christians, what is Jesus then that happen to be a 'christian' ![]() The bible refers to born again christians as believers and you know that only that the stubborn spirit inherent in most of you will advise you to argue other than listen, believe and accept the real word of God. Nobody can get to God through any other means other than Jesus. You've been warned and do not let this response be a witness before you on judgment day.Good. In what way did I go against his teaching and where DID HE tell you to accept him as your personal saviour and Lord. Jesus is not going to judge the world but Allah alone. Hope you remember that you created a similar thread in which I gave you biblical verses but you still didnt make up your after showing you the truth. If it was the same message, why didn't He send one?. Do you believe that every prophet is of God?What religion did Adam, Noah, Elijah, Elisha, Job, Moses practiced and which did Jesus practiced. Could God send two prophets with different religion? God said in the bible that he is not author of confusion Again, you are defining Jesus from the islamic perspective culled from the quran. How can a republican politician define and explain a democratic candidate to the people without misrepresenting him?If you are ready to accept the truth, I will take you down the bible knowing the true status of Jesus and you would see that he was never sent to you, die for your sins and not even your saviour. I know him more than you do because I believe in him as he ought to be. Question: He was in coma inside the tomb for three days abi?. How come He came out from coma, walked pass the guards without being noticed?. You were asking about the flow of blood after His death, if you are trying to explain all the events of His crucifixion and death, then there is no need to believe He resurrected or ascended into heaven after all no mortal is capable of doing that . You see why Jesus is God?Can you do the three days and three nights calculation for me? In what way was he like Jonah? Why wasn't Mohammed(AA) lifted up like Jesus since both are equal according to muslims?Who said they are both equal? Do you think he would be raised up if he had died? For the last time, why are muslims severely interested in the affairs of Jesus. Could it be that they are not satisfied with their own role model?Because I dont want you to lose and Muslims are closer to Jesus than you because he is a muslim. Why is He coming back for the 2nd time when He was here, died like the rest of mankind, resurrected like no other and acended live into heaven? What is He trying to prove again by coming here for the 2nd time to die like everybody else?Point correction. He didnt die and that is one of the reason he would be coming to tell you that he didnt die, crucified, recurrected etc. |
@Deepzone The passage above can only be found in the quran. You may not have similar passage in your book due to the work of the bible writers that edited, re-edited to suit their selfish purpose. Going through the bible, you would see that it has some passages, teachings similar to the Quran and come to think of it, there is nowhere Jesus called you christian or brought another teaching different from the one in existence and he even told you that he didnt come to annul any law but to fulfil it. A book written for Moslems by Islamic scholars.Come on baby, you can google out how Quran come into being and do same for the bible and you would realize the truth. Which Scholars wrote it? What made you think that they wouldn't chip in that passage in order to scare people into islam?.Who are you referring to? No need of chipping in something to deceive people, truth stands from falsehood. I do not believe that any truth can be found in Quran since the concept was flawed from the beginning, so why should I believe that passage above?Where do you have the flawed concept and lets look at it together? Christ died so that you can have life and have it abundantly. Believe.Firstly, I believe in Jesus as the slave and Messenger of Allah, sent to Banu Israel, children of Israel. Secondly, he didnt die let alone resurrecting and didnt die for your sins at all. |
@Deepzone Why are you guys hell bent on calling Jesus Isa even when christians on this forum repeatedly said it's wrong. Are you the one that should define our messiah for us?. What if we christians decide to refer to Mohammed as osama bin Laden, will that go well with y'all?Jesus is not for you unless you are a muslim. Jesus is a muslim as well as other prophets: "Say (O Muslims): We believe in Allah and (in) that which has been revealed to us, and (in) that which was revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the tribes, and (in) that which was given to Moses and Jesus, and (in) that which was given to the prophets from their Lord, we make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we submit (become Muslims)." Sura Baqara (2:136) "Surely the religion with (acceptable to) Allah is Islam (submission to His will) and those to whom (formerly) the Book had been given did not oppose (about Islam) but after knowledge (of Islam's truth) had come to them, out of envy among themselves; and whoever disbelieves in the revelation of Allah then surely Allah is swift at reckoning." Sura Aal Imran (3:19) "And whoever follows a religion other than Islam, it will not be accepted from him, and he will be one of the losers in the hereafter." Sura Aal Imran (3:85 "He has made plain to you of the religion which He enjoined upon Noah, and that which We have revealed to you (Muhammad), and that which We enjoined upon Abraham and Moses and Jesus, (saying): Establish the religion, and be not divided therein; dreadful for the unbelievers is that which you call them to; Allah chooses for Himself whom He pleases, and guides to Himself him who turns (to Him) frequently." Sura Shura (42:13) "And We did not send any apostle but with the language of his people, so that he might explain to them clearly;, " Sura Ibrahim (14:4) |
@Kola Oloye @topic,Did Jesus die let alone resurecting? Jesus did not die hence the reason for his second coming. |
@Deepzone Another proof that muslims believe that Jesus is supreme but are too arrogant to accept it.Where did u see that? We the christians believe that mohammed is only a scholar. How many of 'you' believe that and where did you cull it from? If you believe Jesus is coming again, what are you doing to prepare for His second coming?By being a Muslim because he is also a muslim and never heard the word 'christian' nor was he a 'christian'. Allah said that He sent the prophets and Messengers with the same message, so how could Jesus' case be different. They are all Muslims. Don't y'all want to be raptured or do you want to see Him descend from the sky again before you believe?Rapture ke, Descend from the sky Read about Jesus here Those who say that the Messiah, son of Maryam, is the third of three are disbelievers. There is no god but One God. (The Holy Qur'an, Chapter 5, Verse 73) There is not one of the People of the Book who will not believe in him before he dies; and on the Day of Resurrection he [Jesus] will be a witness against them. (Qur'an, 4:159) This can only be possible with the return to Earth of Jesus and all the People of the Book having faith in him during this second life. That is in fact the promise in the hadiths. He [Jesus] is a Sign of the Hour. Have no doubt about it. But follow me. This is a straight path. (Qur'an, 43:61) In his commentary, Elmalili Muhammad Hamdi Yazir writes that: No doubt he [Jesus] is a sign of the Hour, one that declares that the Hour will come, that the dead will be resurrected and stand up, because the miracle of Jesus' second coming and his miracle of resurrecting the dead, together with his revelation that the dead will rise, prove that the Day of Judgment is real. According to the hadiths, his arrival is a sign of the Last Day. (Elmalili Muhammad Hamdi Yazir, Kuran-i Kerim Tefsiri (Qur'an Tafsir); www.kuranikerim.com/telmalili/zuhruf.htm) https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-41732.0.html and http://www.muslimbridges.org/content/view/1079/72/ Abu Hurairah (ra) narrated that Allah's Messenger, peace be upon him, said, "By the One in Whose hand is my self, definitely the son of Maryam will soon descend among you as a just judge, and he will break the cross, kill the pig and abolish the jizyah, and wealth will be so abundant that no one will accept it, until a single prostration will be better than the world and everything in it. (Sahih al-Bukhari) Jabir ibn 'Abdullah said, "I heard the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, saying, 'A party of my ummah will never stop fighting for the truth victoriously until the Day of Rising.' He said, 'Then 'Isa ibn Maryam, peace be upon him, will descend and their amir will say, "Come and lead us in prayer," but he will say, "No! some of you are amirs over others," as Allah's showing honour to this ummah.'" (Sahih Muslim) Abu Hurairah (ra) narrated, "The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: 'There is no prophet between me and him, that is, 'Isa, peace be upon him. He will descend (to the earth). When you see him, recognise him: a man of medium height, reddish fair, wearing two light yellow garments, looking as if drops were falling down from his head though it will not be wet[/b]. [b]He will fight the people for the cause of Islam. He will break the cross, kill the pig, and abolish the jizyah. Allah will cause to perish all religions except Islam. He will destroy the Dajjal and will live on the earth for forty years and then he will die. The Muslims will pray over him.[color=#990000][/color]'" (Abu Dawud) Quran 4 v 157- 158: And (on account of) their saying, "We killed the Messiah, 'Isa son of Maryam, Messenger of Allah." They did not kill him and they did not crucify him but it was made to seem so to them. Those who argue about him are in doubt about it. They have no real knowledge of it, just conjecture. But they certainly did not kill him. Allah raised him up to Himself. Allah is Almighty, All-Wise. |
@Longman Er, Olabowale, Jesus discussed very thoroughly his second coming while on earth. Check out Matthew 24 and 25.I read Matthew 24 but this one caught my attention: 24:19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!BUT why ?24:20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:Does that mean he would come in other seasons apart from winter and could come in some days aside Sabbath day? 24:34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. The generation he talked about has long perished! 24:40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.Thats called RAPTURE HUH? But what if both of them are 'born again'? You need to read GOB for enlightenement about his second coming and the signs to precede it. |
@Davidylan but muslims believe Jesus is coming again no?Muslim believe that and whats your problem with that ? Some of your people (unbelivers) that would be alive, would see him coming as a muslim in which all the prophets are (Muslim). He would come as a muslim, die and be buried as one. |
@pritypeety mohammed is a mortal flesh like u and me and has died therefore can never comeback for the bible says that it is appointed for a man to live once and after that it is judgment. So my dear Mohammed can never and will never comeback till time for judgment. Jesus on the other hand was God made in flesh that only came to dwell among men during his life time and after his ascention was when he said he would come back to pick his people home. And that is all. No one elseWhat about Lazarus and the daughter of Jarius ?1 Kings 17:17-25 2 Kings 4:32-37 2 Kings 13 Luke 7:14-15 Mark 5:35-43 |
