Politics › Re: Buhari Has Cut Deal With Yari, Masari To Capture Zamfara, Katsina —atiku by Babs91: 3:17pm On Jan 04, 2019 |
Atiku yeye man . Zamfara and Katsina is Buhari home. U can't even get 5% votes from the 2 states. HgsMediaPlus: The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar , says he welcomes whatever reasonable measures the Federal Government takes to put an end to the needless loss of lives and property in Zamfara and Katsina states , but warns that imposing an emergency rule in the two states can only address the symptoms rather than the cause of the current security crisis facing the North- West states .
Reacting to the call by Governor Abdul - Aziz Yari for the imposition of a state of emergency in Zamfara State, Atiku said in a statement by his Special Assistant on Public Communication , Mr. Phrank Shaibu , that a fundamental solution must be sought to the crisis to ensure lasting peace .
The statement said the deal being struck between the Federal Government and the governors of Zamfara and Katsina states reflected the desperation of the All Progressives Congress - led Federal Government to ‘’ capture ’’ the states at all cost during next month ’ s general elections .
“ The deal, cut at a meeting in the Presidential Villa in Abuja, is simple : The Federal Government will impose a state of emergency in Zamfara , to provide a window for the APC to field a candidate for the governorship election in the state having failed to do so within the time frame stipulated by the ( Independent National Electoral ) Commission , ’’ Shaibu said in a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday , adding that “ everything that is required for this manipulation has been provided by the leadership of the party . ”
Atiku said the implication of the plot was that even President Buhari , ‘ for all his sweet words on ensuring free and fair elections and avoiding unethical measures to win at all cost , ’ was ready to do anything just to ‘’ capture ’’ Zamfara and Katsina states for his party .
The PDP presidential candidate , however , said although the plot was meant to put his party at a disadvantage , the ‘ PDP would not lose any sleep over the ignoble deal, since the battle to rescue Nigeria from incompetence and bad leadership would be fought by the people themselves and not by the Governor of Zamfara or President Buhari ’ s hatchet men. ’

Politics › Re: 2019 Campaign: Osinbajo Thrills Abuja Residents To `next Level’ Song- Vanguard by Babs91: 7:58am On Dec 25, 2018 |
4+4 Agritech: Vice President Yemi Osinbajo thrilled some residents of Abuja to `Next Level’, a song composed from the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign slogan for the 2019 general elections.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, continues “Family Chats’ in Zone 7 and Area 1, meets with Abdulwaheed Yusuf’s family and Retired Col. Ahmed Zubair’s family in Abuja
The vice president addressed a crowd of enthusiastic residents, then paid a visit to the family of Abdulwaheed Yusuf in Garki Area 1, before visiting the family of Col. Ahmed Zubair (rtd) in Wuse Zone 7.
Addressing cheering residents of Wuse Zone 7, Osinbajo bellowed “APC!’’, and the crowd responded “Next Level!’’ as many times as the vice president mentioned Next level.
The vice president, who spoke partly in Pidgin English, told the residents that the message he had for them from President Muhammadu Buhari was: “No shaking, na Next level we dey go; we don finish with the kind leaders wey dey chop money’’. He said people who looted Nigeria’s money would not be allowed to come back.
“Dey no go come back again; Baba Buhari na mai Gaskiya; he will not steal your money; he will use the money for the benefit of the people. “From now on, we are making sure that people have money to do their trading and young people have jobs; the only way to do is only if we do not allow these people who want to steal to come back.
“They will not come back; we are going forward; we are going to the Next level; by the Grace of God, four more years. “There is one song that we sing now on radio; we are going higher, higher, Next level; we are going higher, higher, we are going higher, higher, higher Next level,’’ he sang.
The excited residents sang in unison with the Vice President and later switched to repeatedly singing “Four plus four, Next level; four plus four, Next level’’.
Earlier in Garki Area 1, Osinbajo told the residents that Buhari would not allow any form of looting as he would deploy Nigeria’s resources to improve the lives of the people.
According to him, the Buhari-led administration will use Nigeria’s money to help Nigerians. “Traders will have more money for their trading; people who are working will have more; young people will have jobs; our women will go to market to sell; enough things to sell so that every Nigerian will prosper.
“Mr President has said that he will not allow a situation where people steal our money; that is why we are not going back to the past. “Our money must be used for Nigerians; for all of you who are here.
“That is why we are doing MarketMoni, TraderMoni; every trader will have something to do; every young person will have a job. “By God’s grace, everybody will prosper during Buhari’s next four years as president,’’ he said.
The crowd, comprising mostly women and youths, sang and walked with the vice president for about 200 metres in Area 1 before he departed for Wuse Zone 7boarded his motorcade and drove off. (NAN)

Politics › Re: Femi Fani-kayode: Murder Of Alex Badeh – What An Insider Told Me by Babs91: 9:03pm On Dec 19, 2018 |
Uncle Kayode Opuro niyin. Pathological liayer. Nobody is religion bigot than u. nwakibie3: The sad and brutal assasination of the former Chief of Defence Staff and former Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, a day after President Buhari’s birthday, is a despicable and cowardly act.
Not only was he an officer and a gentleman but he was also a profoundly good man who was criminalised, humiliated and treated in a malicious and unacceptable manner by a vicious, malevolent and evil government that had targetted him for villification and destruction right from the start.
Despite the fact that he was subjected to a well-orchestrated and relentless degree of persecution from the Buhari administration, he remained a believer in Nigeria and a heroic, courageous and unrelenting critic of tyranny, injustice and ethnic and religious subjugation till the end.
He knew many of the Buhari government’s excesses and secrets, he worked quietly against them from behind the scenes and, by his numerous actions and interventions, he saved the lives of many of his Middle Belt people.
Those that were behind his assasination know who they are. They shall not escape justice and they will pay a terrible price for their wickedness. His assasination is a debt that will be repaid by God and the people no matter how long it takes.
In the fullness of time the Lord of Hosts and the Ancient of Days, in whose bosom he now resides, will avenge him.
These are still early days and the investigation is yet to commence but I do not accept the suggestion that some have already made that his murder was a random and isolated event. That is just too convenient a conclusion to come to and it seeks to cover the tracks of the masterninds of this heinous and ungodly crime. In any case many questions need to be answered.
For example, how come a former Chief of Defence Staff and a former Chief of Air Staff did not have any military personnel or security details guarding and protecting him? This is especially so given the fact that it appears that he was on a long distance drive on a road which has has proved to be dangerous in the early hours of the evening.
Badeh was entitled to that level of protection by virtue of his position as a former Chief of Defence Staff. How come he was denied it? Who withdrew his men? Who wanted him to be alone with just his driver on that journey? Who wanted him dead?
There are many other questions which we shall ask at the appropiate time. And one day we shall get the answers.
Meanwhile, I add my voice to those who have called for an independent and public commission of enquiry into this courageous and noble soul’s brutal assasination.
With his murder it is clear that, under Buhari, ours is a nation of not just ethnic and religious cleansing but also a nation of political cleansing.
Adamawa state, the Middle Belt, Christendom and indeed the whole of Nigeria has lost a great man who though maligned, demonised and misrepresented by his numerous and powerful detractors, still had so much to offer our nation. May his beautiful and precious soul rest in peace.
Permit me to conclude this contribution with the following aside. Given this sad event, if anyone still believes that President Buhari will conduct a free and fair election and, after losing, hand over power quietly and go back to Daura without a fight next year, that person is gravely mistaken and painfully naive.
Those that believe this have still not fully understood the nature of the beast that we are dealing with. What they fail to appreciate is that it is not about Buhari alone but about who and what he represents. And those that he represents are not ready to relinquish power and lose all the ground that they have regained over the last three years and six months.
Consider the following words which were sent to me by an insider who wishes to remain anonymous.
“Air Chief Alex Badeh the former Chief of Defence Staff who called the Nigerian President, Mohammadu Buhari a “religious bigot” to his face was assasinated yesterday after he had threatened to expose the government over its involvement with Boko Haram prior to removing Jonathan. Just before he left office, he visited Maiduguri in a covet operation and ran into some top members of the current day government as they were coming out of a meeting with Boko Haram Commanders at the Nigerian Army underground Armory which was siezed by Boko Haram. He ordered his boys not to open fire but took pictures which he refused to hand over to the government when he was retired. He raised an alarm first week in November 2018 when 2 hooded men tried to break into his Asokoro house but DSS played it down. He was assassinated in cold blood by unknown gun men one month later”.
I cannot confirm the veracity of some of these assertions but two things are self-evident. Firstly that he was indeed murdered on December 18th and secondly that there is a dimension to this matter that few are familiar with.
Yet whatever we choose to believe or choose not to believe we must always remember the following: theirs is an ancient and hegemonic agenda and it is as real today as it was 58 years ago when we won our independence from the British.
First it was Rear Admiral Daniel Ikoli, the Fleet Commander of the Western Naval Command, who reports suggest was conducting an investigation into secret arms sales to Boko Haram, that was assasinated.
Then it was ex-Military Intelligence Chief and the former Director of Administration of Defence Headquarters, General Alkali, who was privy to a lot of damning information, that was assasinated.
Then it was the ex-Chief of Defence Staff under whose leadership Boko Haram was annihilated, Air Vice Marshall Alex Badeh, that has been assasinated.
All three of these worthy and noble warriors and sons of Nigeria were murdered in the last one year and all three had quite a story to tell about what was really going on in certain circles in our country! I urge our people to ponder on this and to think, think and think again!
The cabal is very much in control, the game is on and the next few months will be a rough ride. Yet no matter what comes our way one thing is clear: God is still on the throne and all power belongs to Him.
He rules in the affairs of men, He forges the destiny of nations and His counsel alone shall stand. Fasten your seat belts and let us see what will unfold.

Politics › Re: Lagos No Longer Industrial Hub Of Nigeria - Agbaje by Babs91: 6:03am On Dec 06, 2018 |
Confused man. U are downgrading Lagos because of Politics. Leave us alone. PDP can not successful run Lagos economy. Is too big for corrupt ppl like u. Eko o no baje o. Mrakeli: governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, has painted a gloomy picture of the socio-political economy of the state, saying that despite the fact that its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is higher than the combined economy of both Ghana and Kenya, it is still one of the least developed of the mega cities in the world.
Agbaje declared that contrary to what people think, Lagos, which has been the centre of the country’s banking, industry and commerce, has lost its position as the industrial hub of the country to other states of the federation with N7 trillion wasted in the state in the last 20 years.
He told the panel, “The truth is that Lagos is no longer the industrial hub of Nigeria. Lagos is bigger than 11 countries in Africa combined. But the truth is that Lagos is no longer the industrial hub of the country; we have lost that to neighbouring states. It is still the commercial hub, but it is not doing as well as it should. Yes, it is the fifth largest economy in Africa – Lagos economy is bigger than Ghana and Kenya combined. Lagos economy is bigger than 11 African countries combined; but what I‘m saying is that we shouldn’t get carried away with small successes and think we are doing well.
“Lagos is a mega city; for a mega city, it swings around 139 cities in the world in terms of liveability. It is one of the two mega cities in the world that doesn’t have a transport system; in terms of rail, in terms of multi-model integrated system. The state in the last 20 years has spent over N7trillion! You can imagine what that kind of figure is.
“That is why we are asking Lagosians that what have you really got for N7trillion? Is education fantastic? Is health care fantastic? Is traffic good? Is there power? What is good about Lagos?
Agbaje insisted that the last 20 years under the same set of people and government has not been good for the state and the people.
According to him, “We are going to do many things differently. We need to do something for the youth. The youth of today are not properly prepared for the challenges of the 21st century, so we have to get the education right. Education today is about innovation, having entrepreneurial skills, and we are not doing that!
“When you look at the world today, everybody is talking about Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook and the Bill Gates and all that. These are people that succeeded not from university education but from their basic education.
“Now we are not providing that kind of basic education for our own youths, so they are not prepared; the kind of education that pushes them into the creative industry in a way that they can hold their own. You talk about a healthy nation being a wealthy nation; but God forbid that any of us falls ill, but Lagos in the 21st century must have a health system that is sustainable.
“There must be universal accessible and affordable health care. But 20 years after, N7trillion after, we still don’t have that.”
He lamented that the residents spend their time in the traffic because of the poor transportation system. He disclosed that he had to patronise commercial motorbikes to the airport in order to meet up with his flight. “That shouldn’t be happening in a Lagos of the 21st century, a Lagos that has spent N7trillion. In the last 20 years,” the PDP candidate said.
On high unemployment rate and the breakdown of social infrastructure in the state, Agbaje stressed that vested interests were responsible for the inability of the Lagos transport and refuse disposal system to run effectively. “It is the same vested interest that is responsible for the non-completion of the Lagos light rail system. In the PDP you fight for what you want, but in the APC, that option is not there. In APC there is got to be an anointing, but in the PDP you fight for what you want,” he said.
On pre-election debate between him and the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Mr. Jide Sanwo-Olu; Agbaje said, “We are ready for the debate because it is going to be a referendum on their records in the last 20 years. Don’t come and give us promises any longer.
“Lagos is one of the two mega cities in the whole world that doesn’t have a light rail in the whole world, and we have been at it for 12 years, yet it is not near completion.”

We don't need anything from Atiku or PDP. We rather stick to Buhari/Apc who has given us VP and all juicy minister. I rep Omoluabi. quote author=odiks post=73306401]Southsouth is lobbying for Secretary to the Government of the Federation( SGF) from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. With the development, the Southwest, which is demanding the SGF’s seat, may lose out if PDP and Atiku bow to the Southsouth pressure. Atiku has promised to concede the position to the Southwest as re-echoed recently by ex-Governor Gbenga Daniel, who was the Director-General of the now disbanded Atiku Campaign Organisation. Some Southsouth leaders and ex-militant leaders in the Niger Delta are behind the lobbying. They believe no other post could assuage their marginalisation than the SGF slot, The Nation learnt. The leaders, especially the former Niger Delta warlords, are said to be insisting that they will not play second fiddle if PDP returns to power in 2019. Their position is said to be the outcome of a recent meeting between some South-South opinion leaders and ex-militant coordinators. A source, who spoke in confidence, said: “We have a fresh challenge at hand because the Southsouth wants the SGF slot in a move which may alter pre-primaries negotiation with the Southwest. “This demand from the Southsouth is part of the intrigues surrounding the ongoing horse-trading in PDP. Every geopolitical zone is interested in what PDP and Atiku will offer it. “So far, neither the PDP nor Atiku has been forthcoming on the positions to concede to the South-South. “What the South-South leaders are saying is that they will not wait till after the election before knowing PDP’s and Atiku’s plans for their zone. And it is more complex because ex-militant leaders are collaborating with respected leaders from the Niger Delta in this latest agitation.” Atiku’s camp, however, said it is too early to jostle for positions when a big battle is ahead. One of Atiku’s strategists, Mr. Phrank Shuaibu, said: “The party has already done its zoning and that was why it’s presidential candidate came from the north. The candidate does not intend to alter the decision of the party unless the party decides otherwise. “We regard these remarks as permissible conjectures, allowable agitations or gambits that can be used for negotiations, particularly now that it is becoming obvious by the day that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the PDP is a clear favourite to win the 2019 presidential election. “However, the truth of the matter remains that it is still early in the day to firmly allocate certain sensitive positions at the national level when the real battle ahead is to defeat and dismiss President Muhammadu Buhari and his APC Government at the centre. “The discussions on the issue of power sharing and ethnic balancing are an evolving conversation and negotiation. Nothing is static or written in gold or even cast in stone. “ Realistically, it is the party leadership that will have the final say on such matters and discussions are ongoing.” http://thenationonlineng.net/2019-southwest-may-lose-southsouth-lobbies-pdp-atiku-sgf-slot/[/quote] |

Old looser.gbo aye lo n febuhari. PizzleGold: Former Vice President and presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has apologized for joining the groups, who came together to form the All Progressives Congress.
He said the apology had become necessary because of the sufferings Nigerians had been subjected to in the last three and half years from a party he played a role in bringing to power. Atiku, who spoke on Thursday in Yola, Adamawa State, during a c with residents of Jimeta, described the APC as an assembly of ‘elements’ that came together to defraud the country.
He said the party had flopped in changing the fortunes of Nigerians for good.
He stated, "I lamented being part of the party which never deemed it fit to fulfil all of the promises it made to Nigerians.
“If I had known that the APC would be such a colossal failure and disgrace, I would never had joined the party.
“The APC has failed to fulfill even one of the promises it made to Nigerians. The APC is simply an assembly meant to defraud Nigerians.”
Speaking further, the former Vice-President said that the country would not survive another four years if the APC was returned to power in 2019.

Speaking at the event, Lai Mohammed expressed satisfaction that the title of the lecture was focusing on combating fake news, just as he noted that the Federal Government has consistently made efforts to create national awareness on the menace of fake news in the country.
He recalled the meeting he had with online publishers and social media influencers on July 24, where he said fake news is not limited to social media and is not new, but what is new is the way and manner that fake news is spreading.
His words: “The war against fake news is a must-win. As a multi-ethnic, multi-religious nation, Nigeria cannot afford an unbridled spread of fake news. This phenomena is exploiting our front lines to aggravate crisis in the country. Of course, you aware of a recent report by the BBC that says fake news circulating on social media is fuelling the farmer-herders clash in Nigeria. Gory pictures from other lands are circulated freely via Facebook, WhatsApp and Twitter, purportedly being from the killings in Benue and Plateau states.
"Let me repeat what I said at the launch of this campaign the Federal Government will not use cohesion or engage in censorship in order to fight the fake news epidemic. We believe there are enough laws in our books to fight this phenomenon. We, therefore, appeal to you and all Nigerians to join us in the fight against this scourge. We are telling Nigerians to do just two simple things before you share that information on Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp, please ask yourself how credible the source. Two, don’t share any information which you cannot vouch for.”
The Minister pledge to work hand in hand with the Guild of Professional Bloggers Of Nigeria towards eradicating Fake News in Nigeria
Delivering his welcome address, Chris Kehinde Nwandu, the GPBN President, explained why the association was formed.
He said: “Many people come into blogging as journalists, while some simply because they are interested in writing and sharing information. However, one thing that is non-negotiable is the fact that the public must be fed with accurate and factual information and not the fabrication or falsehood called fake news. There was therefore the realisation that there was a vacuum which needed to be filled, and that is the need to have an umbrella body to regulate the activities of bloggers in the country.”
He called on government agencies to see to the registration of the association as they have made several attempts to register it with the Corporate Affairs Commission, but the efforts have been unsuccessful.
In her keynote address, Prof. Abigail Ogwezzy-Ndisika, Head, Department of Mass Communication, University of Lagos said the media was powerful because of their capacity to influence others and bring about change. She said it was, therefore, expected of stakeholders in the industry to always uphold the ethics and report the facts. “The fourth Estate of the Realm must never relent in its quest of being the watchdog of the society. ”This duty of the media is one that cannot be underestimated . “In this era of social media, it behoves of the media to ensure that their platforms are not compromised, no matter the cost involved,” Ogwezzy-Ndisika added.
The don, who was the Chairman at the lecture, described fake news as a threat to the society and development. She urged media professionals to pursue conscious efforts to ensure that the threats of fake news were checked. As the 2019 approaches, Ogwezzy-Ndisika urged the media to always verify whatever they were putting out in order not to cause unnecessary tension before, during and after the election. She said most of the “fakes” were disseminated through social media and online platforms. The don advised bloggers to work at the credibility problems in the online media by ensuring whatever they were publishing had all the elements of credibility.
Also at speaking at the event, Kola Ologbodiyan, who was represented by Richard Ihediwa, said fake news has wrecked the lives of individuals and it has led people who cannot bear the weight of the allegation, commit suicide.
He said: “Fake news is a form of deceptive news report comprising of deliberate and outright falsehood with an intent to deceive and misled for political and financial gains. It can be to attract readership and traffic. The catch phrase today is breaking news and some breaking news can just end up breaking everything in sight,” he said.
In their various papers Mrs Chiamaka Odunze and Ramon Nasir Olarenwaju enumerated how fake news affects affect Corporate organizations especially in the financial sectors of the economy .
They urged various financial financial institutions especially the Banks to set active information desk in their banks where the media could verify information relating to their organizations without any hindrance in order to curb the menace of fake news
They opined that fake news has a way of damaging not only the integrity of financial institutions but capable of eroding customers confidence in the system.
On his own part Mr Kufre Ekanem was of the opinion that emergence of GPBN will separate the grains from the shafts.
He believed it will bring a whole lot of confidence into the system .He urged the Association to remain above board in setting ethical standards for not only it's members but on how the profession could be practiced using global best practices.
Mr Udotia on his part congratulated the Association for their steering efforts at sanitizing the industry .He took the audience down memory lane on how information narratives have changed since the advent of Social media.
The event was attended by several dignatories including the Executive Director Daar Communications Plc ,Mr Johnson Onime, the Group Head Corporate Communications ,Dangote Group Mr Anthony Chiejina,Veteran broadcaster Seun Olagunju ,PR expert Cornell Udofia amongst others.

Don't be deceived Obj is paperweight politician we Yoruba race won't vote ATIKU. Buhari lamatekafun WisdomFlakes: OBJ likes feeling important though. I felt he was too condescending in his remarks leading up to the so-called forgiveness, as if he is holier than Atiku. Asides the symbolic boost that his endorsement adds to Atiku's candidacy, I don't see how he will help him at the polls when it really gets down to it. Just saying. |

ADP candidate too would have sealed APC VICTORY Khed: Senator Iyiola Omisore, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party in the Osun governorship election has been the target of attack by PDP supporters on Twitter.
And he has also been praised by supporters of the All Progressives Congress for helping their candidate, by default.
The PDP sympathisers are blaming him for playing a spoiler and giving the APC candidate, Gboyega Oyetola, a decisive advantage over the PDP candidate, Ademola Adeleke.
In their calculations, Omisore has taken away the votes that ought to have been won by the PDP candidate, who according to unconfirmed reports, is trailing the APC candidate, from results from the 30 local councils being collated.
Omisore proved he has a solid home base when he thrashed all the other candidates, by winning his polling unit with 166 votes, leaving the APC, PDP and to scramble for the remaining 60 votes. PDP only scored nine votes at polling unit 3, Moore ward in Ile-Ife.
He went on to win his Moore ward 11 by polling 2663 votes, while the APC candidate won 706 votes. The PDP candidate came a distant third winning 342 votes. ADC got 26 and ADP 145 votes.
Here are some tweets decrying or praising Omisore’s electoral value and the effect it has on the ultimate outcome of the election:

Politics › Re: Saraki Faults INEC Verdict On Osun Polls, Urges PDP Supporters To Remain Firm by Babs91: 8:46pm On Sep 23, 2018 |
When the traitor himself spoken chieyine: In my layman's opinion, the Independent National Electoral aqCommission (INEC) was wrong in declaring the Osun Gubernatorial election as inconclusive because the votes in certain polling units were cancelled.
The decision of INEC to cancel the election in those areas after voting had taken place, means that INEC had already excluded the votes in these areas from the election process and therefore those units should have no place in the overall results.
My opinion would have been different if the election in the affected units did not take place at all, may be as a result of malfunctioning of the card readers or unavailability of the electoral materials. However, because the voting took place and was cancelled, only the courts can reverse the initial decision by INEC to cancel the votes in these areas.
That is why I call on our party and its candidate to seek further legal interpretation on this decision by the electoral body. One cannot but wonder whether if places were reversed, and the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), was the one leading in the election, if INEC would have taken the same decision that it has taken now.
At this point, it is necessary to also call on INEC to display courage, boldness, independence, neutrality and patriotism so as to send signals to the world at large that the Nigerian electoral system has come of age and that our democracy has matured. The electoral body needs to re-assure all and sundry that the 2019 election and other elections will be free of manipulations and undue interference.
INEC should note that the Osun gubernatorial election is not only about that South-western state. It is about our country and the entire world is watching. Our national interest is at stake. The integrity of our electoral system is at stake. The reputation of the electoral body is at stake. The future of our democracy is on the line. The way INEC conclusively handles the Osun election will determine global expectations from our political process. It should therefore ensure that the wish of the Osun State electorate eventually prevails.
I praise the dedication and hard work of PDP supporters and the candidate of the party, Senator Ademola Adeleke. They have remained steadfast, resilient, focused and determined.
Let me also commend all the other contestants in yesterday's election for their gallant efforts. This is because it is clear they are all working for the same objective from different perspectives and platforms to ensure that the era of mis-governance, pain, injustice and insensitivity to the plight of the common people comes to an end. It is our hope that they will all co-operate with Senator Adeleke to ensure that Osun State witnesses a development-oriented era.
Let me remind our party supporters and the good people of Osun State that this INEC decision constitutes only a delay of the victory of Senator Ademola Adeleke and the PDP in the Osun Gubernatorial election — as our triumph will come either through the judiciary or further balloting.
I thank PDP supporters and the general public in Osun State and note that we got to this point after many months of hard work, determination and focus. We should not despair and not lose our focus and determination to ensure that the final results reflects the will of the Osun people.
Our party is ahead, despite the irregularities. Our people must remain resilient to see this through to the finish. Now is the time to re-strategize, reach out to all the other candidates and their supporters, build on our lead, and bring this election home.
Our supporters and the entire people of Osun State should remain calm and maintain peace as we move forward to see the successful completion of the electoral process.
Once again, I thank all supporters of the PDP and the people of Osun State who stayed up all night, both physically and on social media to monitor the numbers and protect our votes. We remain undeterred, and we all remain determined to ensure that Senator Ademola Adeleke becomes the next Governor of Osun State.
Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, CON President of the Senate and Chairman, PDP Presidential Council on Osun Gubernatorial Election.
