GeeKudi: There are existing contracts that must be honoured. I suspect that they are able to give more to Dangote now because production has improved. At the end of those contracts, will it not earn more money for FGN to sell finished petroleum products than selling crude? What other catch dey apart from existing contracts that will end someday? |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by BabsO2(m): 11:37am On Apr 07 |
GeneralDae: Nigeria doubled its crude supply to Dangote Refinery in March. NNPC: 5 cargoes/month → 10 cargoes/month Aliko Dangote personally confirmed this information today.
What the refinery is doing with it: 🛢️ Now supplying 60% of Nigeria's refined petroleum products. ⛽ Covering ~90% of Nigeria's petrol needs 📦 Exports to Africa: 214,000 bpd (up from 100,000 in February) 🌍 Tanzania: received its first-ever Dangote cargo in March
The catch that remains: The refinery needs 13–15 shipments per month to run at full capacity. At 10 cargoes, it's still operating below optimum.
Domestic fuel prices in Nigeria: still at record highs.
Africa's largest refinery is filling a gap the Gulf can no longer fill. But it can't fill it fast enough — not yet.
Data Explained Is it not better NNPC supply the max Dangote refinery can take. With Nigeria selling the finished products instead of raw crude. Will selling finished products not earn more money for NNPC/FGN than selling raw crude? |

Joyful365: The stock market is sustained by a people with high purchasing power, else everything is a gamble in a bubble.
Purchasing power of the average Nigerian consumer is being decimated now because there's no more subsidy and fuel prices is going through the roof.
Q2 results will reflect this if nomalcy doesn't return soon.
In all of this, I'll bet on the banking sector to remain resilient through this period. Most of everything else is overpriced. It's time for them to drop 50-70% so people can sort through the rubbish and pick up valuable ones This purchasing power thing is mixed with inflation and somewhat expanding economy based on macro with the micro yet to tag along properly as purchasing power is eroding for salary earners. But quarterly results of most companies is still growing suggesting total purchases of goods and services is rising Looks like salary earners who’ve got no raises are worse off. And what percentage of people fall into this category? It will be nice to see such data. The one we can see is company quarterly and annual results. Apart from rising company revenues and profits, staff costs (renumerations) have been rising in the annual reports. |

I am just guessing. Financing can mean loan, convertible loan or equity. Interested investors need to verify which one or ones applies. nosa2: Ah, so they may be taking equity positions in mining operations. That makes more sense |

Financing here may be in equity positions with higher risk and rewards nosa2: If you think about it you know this doesn't make any sense right. Loans are given out based on ability to repay rather than Sector |

Hajicairo: YES I did went through the purchase/sales notes, portfolio summary/balance from day of purchase to the day of the missing shares. I can also confirm that no cash transaction was made into my bank account as at today. That is serious. Something like this must have led the Direct to Account sales proceed that NGX mandated as default. For those who don't have direct CSCS access to monitor their stocks, better to subscribe for access so as to monitor holdings as one pleases. |

Hajicairo: I strongly belief that was what happened. This was evidenced by the transaction history sent to me by CSCS. Did you check your stockbroker account balance. And no proceeds from any erroneous sale is not lodged there. Or your bank statements if it’s direct to bank your sales proceeds goes to? |

EDUECO: Heavy supply of ACCESSCORP stocks by market maker at their acceptable price range. Why should they be giving valuable shares. This doesn't add up. Except there is pressing challenges (or distress). Perhaps a major holding(s) has to be distributed for liquid cash and has nothing to do with management or distress or valuation considerations. |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by BabsO2(m): 12:15pm On Feb 25 |
EDUECO: I'm quite sure ACCESSCORP's management is supressing the price movement so that the dividend yield would seem big and/or they are still buying. This doesn't sound nice, saying ACCESSCORP's management is suppressing its price. Most likely some shareholders with huge holdings (whales in loco language) are bent on exiting their positions. Perhaps foreign or local whales. We should be asking ourselves why are they leaving? Like the ones that left ARADEL that caused the price to be depressed post listing. We should try and understanding why they are leaving and to where. |

Just buy Ellah at its lowest price POSSIBLE (e.g. N0.5 - N1) then wait for the company to turn around in a couple of years. That price range looks too low. It sat on N3 for long time. These are deep research questions. crownprince2017: Before the sales, how much does transcorp pay as dividend n how much do they pay after sales.
Ok, since dividend is not the goal, how has it impacted transcorp share price after sales. May be tomorrow ooo but today nothing show just like groundnuts locked up inside bottles, chicken can never taste it.
I will like to know how the minority shareholder have benefitted from that decision. |
