Agbalowomeri:Sweet to some. Disgusting to others ![]() |
mikeapollo:From the picture attachment by Bagwa, converting $300m into shares is also on the table. It is clearly stated that the price to be used will be determined through book building and other means. It can be safely assumed only 10 billion new shares will be issued even if $300m of debt is converted into shares along with a fresh N500 billion being raised. This could imply a price of N100 possible if supported by the book building or other valuation method used. Think N50 is damn too low for use. It won’t be the smartest thing to do. Look at UBA they know the market is depressed or fearful in valuations and won’t do rights on just any low price I think N50 is damn low |
mikeapollo:Has the price for the capital raise or debt conversion been determined and stated or you are just making assumptions that N50 per share will be used? |
UBA has left ACCESS behind for these two reasons amongst others. 1. UBA raised its first recap at N35. While ACCESS did its raise (rights and po) at sub N20. 2. UBA will complete its capital raise at N50 very soon. These two reasons support a more robust book value per share for UBA following mandated CBN capital raise. While book value per share for ACCESS has been severely watered down. Thus ACCESS is fundamentally behind UBA post capital raise exercise. However some or perhaps many investors will still have an illusion that they are still mates and this can technically raise market price of ACCESS to play catch up with UBA. But how many bullion vans do such pockets have. With time both ACCESS and UBA will go further up. But UBA will likely stay ahead of ACCESS. |
Mpeace:The rights are designed for very heavy money that cannot be fulfilled on the floor quickly. Heavy money to fulfill CBN capital raise mandate without undue dilution. |
jonnysessy:Tony has done very well for shareholders concerning the mandated CBN capital raise by not diluting their shares any how in this relatively underpriced market of low PE’s. Especially in view of the huge amount CBN mandated UBA to raise. And it’s rights all the way to give shareholders priority to pick more units and fencing non shareholders from the exercise of getting UBA cheaply through the mandated capital raise. He should continue putting shareholders first by progressively increasing dividends. |
Olaide1295:Thanks for this. What does SOL stand for. FBNH got too many reds in the picture. |
Ibrahim505:Nice bull. With NB amongst the three banks (UBA, Zenith, Access) with these huge volumes, indeed suggest institutional investors entering the market. I hope they are mainly Nigerian and not foreign ones. Especially Nigerian ones moving from money markets with falling yields. This may even happen more if their money market bids are rejected. So which of these is happening or what else is happening if something else? |
SonofElElyonRet:Topped up more Oando at N54 to replace what I sold at N90 last year. |
PETERiCHY:Bought similar volume of Access at 22.35 and 22.4 yesterday as it is the cheapest bank stock at the moment. This your 22 is serious bargain hunt. |
KarlTom:Waiting for a higher low of N7 |
megawealth01:I have Costain. Also have Starcomms, UNIC & DUNLOP |
There are all kinds of knowledge. Information / Knowledge is Goood 1. FA for long term investing, 2. TA+SA+ whatever gives you info for imminent turnaround ahead of the curve for short/medium/long term speculative trading/investment. I have come across 1's and 2's on this forum and hugely contributed to contributing to their pros and cons of selected ones. Thanks to everyone that shares his/her thoughts here. Left for each investor to do his/her due diligence.

megawealth01:It needs to reverse back to a new higher low of 7 biko |
megawealth01:Good sport (game) for the early birds who have enjoyed bonus and still got upward price rise despite bonus shares. Some stocks returns are real GOOD. |
EDUECO:One of the risks of investments. The risk is even higher when a company doesn't have good records of deploying resources efficiently to generate good returns. |
StanbicIBTC seem to have messed up today with the web stockbroking application. They have had poor quality service this week with contract notes not issued promptly, outstanding orders notification not issued promptly and trades not issued promptly. Messy service this week. Then today they just started selling a share I already sold earlier in the week all over again without a new sales instruction. What a mess ![]() They have done a mess like this some time in the distant past. Shocked to see such a mess again. One of the risks with brokers and IT systems ![]() |
DeRuggedProff:Stock betting ![]() |
KarlTom:Was contemplating picking more Oando at sub N50 should it drop below N50. Afterall what one buys now has no 1 for 12 pickin like one bought before Jun 30th. |
sterlingD:Thanks. So it will be like nothing changed for GDR holders. And we will continue to get $ dividends without interruption. |
Ellah’s book keeping and report presented to NGX is of low quality. They need to improve on it going forward. is in a good growth sector so I started buying last year at N4. Also bought this year between N3 and N3.5 Have since sold a third of my holdings while still keeping the rest. I sold what I sold to take profits and reduce risk in view of the planned huge N250 capital raise plans before gaining strong momentum from the turnaround that seems to have started. Keeping a large chunk of holdings as comparative advantage favours Ellah as already demonstrated by PRESCO and OKOMU. |
Sunrisepebble:If the GDR which GT raised in 2007 is cancelled and delisted, what happens to holders of the GDR’s. Will their money be returned or their shares listed on LSE or moved to NSE depending on residency or what ? |
aj8:Lovely. Pray the company is working aggressively towards the $1T economy. |
SmartInsure:Excellent summary pictorial. !! Please confirm the size of the rectangle is proportional to the market capitalization of the stock. Likewise size of sector rectangle is proportional to size of sector capitalization. |
EDUECO:Just sold about a 3rd of holdings and still retaing two thirds. |
Could Ellah be coming out with upwards review of Biological Assets? Has the 3T oil mill started?. Ellah should notify the market of the commissioning. Perhaps these two are under-pinning the price rally. Though I am not a trader but an investor, I booked some profit today primarily because of the uncertainty around the HUGE capital raise. |
SonofElElyonRet:It's for the $1T economy. BIG funds are needed. ![]() |
megawealth01:It could take up to 3 years to get it from that statement. Think it's better both tranches are released before the end of this year. |
megawealth01:Him no want confusion of longer throat investors, of wanting to get another 1 for 12 from the Tranche 1 they just got. ![]() |
Omooloriredade:And why is it now justified to be reversed? Covering for one-off major expenses like repairs of pipelines or one-off restorations makes sense, in order to project stable profit numbers which management believe reflects the underlying performance of the business. |
yMcy56:It's very clear on the last page that the same number of shares will be distributed in Tranche 1 and Tranche 2 with qualification dates of 14th February 2025 and 30th June 2025 respectively. Since it's the same number of shares, Tranche 1 cannot be distributed till after 30th June, in order to prevent confusion. And it is 1 for 12 shares held on the qualification dates that will be distributed.

otokx:Perhaps if you see the decimal points you will see its simply rounding and perfectly accurate !! |
