I believe most of us always on this thread more frequently are novice. Truth be told I am still lost and so haven't attempted any yet. I recently attended a workshop on making patterns with ruler and French curve. Still trying to wrap my head around the free hand pattern.

Clarification please on free hand pattern.

Is it that for example, when making a straight skirt you use the widest part of the body as the width then use darts to have the waist? Meaning that I will start with a four corner pattern and after making the darts the shape of the skirt comes out?

Meanwhile, I am very grateful for all your efforts so far but I will implore that you take a roll call of the novice and the already advanced. And when you are teaching a new topic ensure that at least 3 people commit to it by indicating on the post. Others can still do theirs later but everyone that indicated must submit their finished project. Just give a timeframe for completion.

I am eagerly waiting for the next project so that I can attempt it.

Exciting New Changes to the Bank of Ideas Website

Hello every one,

From the Admin and technical team of the Bank of Ideas, we want to thank you for your membership and your trust in us throughout our upgrade period between June and August 2014.

As you would have noticed, our website is filling up fast with more exciting packages and a better compensation plan for you all to keep enjoying and earning even more.

Following the changes, a lot of members have made more suggestions to us and we have listened! We are now on the verge of making the final adjustments to the site with effect from 3 September 2014.

This email will outline those changes and the advantages for you.

REGISTRATION FEE

1. Amount Paid as Membership Fee. Prior to this time, the membership fee was reduced from N11,000.00 on the former Project Gavea platform to N6,000.00 on the new Bank of Ideas platform, the purpose was to allow for members to earn milestone points easily. Now, from 3 September 2014, there will be a final increase from that N6,000.00 to N20,000.00. Old members are not affected by this new registration fee and would not be required to pay the difference. So, if you quickly want to earn additional points before the increment date, this is the right time to quickly register your prospects so that they too can enjoy the current low fee of only N6,000.00 for the same services, before 3 September 2014.

2. Frequency of Payment. Prior to this time, members were required to pay the membership fee every year. But under the new package, members only need to pay their membership once, as they join. This will be a one-time payment. However, members will be required to pay an annual service charge of N1,500.00 from their first commission earnings every year. You will not be required to pay the annual service charge if you do not earn any commission in any particular year, however, your membership will remain with us forever!!

REFERRAL COMMISSION

3. Commission Increase. Referral commissions have been increased to N8,000.00 from the previous N3,000.00 per referral point earned. There are two ways to earn referral points: first, you can refer new members who pay their own membership fees and this helps you to earn one point. Secondly, you will also earn one point every time one of your powerline referrals pass over a sale to you. Remember that all your powerline referrals will each pass over two sales to you, and those two sales passed to you also automatically become your powerline referrals too; thereby, also themselves owing you two sales and so on.

4. Commission Payment. Your commissions will be paid to you usually within 48 hours of making a payout request; if not, it will never be delayed beyond the Friday following your payout request. Commissions will always be paid out to your designated bank accounts.

PRESTIGE PREPAID VISA CARDS FOR MEMBERS

5. Visa Card Issuance. In partnership with Prestige Royale International, UBA Plc and Visa International, all our new members will now be issued with a branded Visa Prepaid Card. Old members will be required to pay N2,000.00 to get their cards. On application for your own Prestige Prepaid Visa Cards, you will specify which UBA branch nationwide you want your card delivered to; and within one week you will be contacted to go to your specified branch to pick up your card. You will need to go there with one passport photograph and a means of identity to claim your card.

6. Card Usage. The branded visa cards can be used for ATM withdrawals, POS payments and online transactions, anywhere in the world. You do not need to have a bank account with UBA Plc to own this card. If you need to use the card, just load money on it and use it anywhere. This card will serve as your membership identity whenever we invite you for any of our upcoming events. Also, if you ever need to apply for quick interest-free loans from the Bank of Ideas, your loan value will be paid into the card for you to withdraw from an ATM.

LOANS

7. Loans for Members. All our members can now apply for quick business loans. You can get up to N200,000.00 within an hour, paid directly to your Visa Card (see loan conditions below). Starting at just 10 milestone points, members begin qualifying for loans whenever and wherever they need it.

8. Loan Conditions. The loans are from Prestige Royale International so members MUST have the Prestige prepaid visa cards to apply for the loans as loan value will not be paid to their bank accounts but onto their visa cards. Having 10 referral points qualify you for N50,000.00 loan; 20 points for N100,000.00 loan; 30 points for N150,000.00 and 40 points and above qualify you for N200,000.00 loan. Loans are interest-free for 30 days!!! That means, if you return the loan within 30 days, you will not pay any interest on it. Between 30 and 60 days, members will pay 10% interest on the loan. Members MUST return the loan before the expiration of 60 days or have their accounts suspended. Loans are disbursed to applicants within one hour of applying, as long as those members have qualified for it. No collateral, no paper work!! Just qualify based on points and you have it!!

MILESTONE AWARDS

9. New Milestone Awards. Our new milestone awards can never get more exciting than this! Members will now earn free international business travels for every 100 points they accumulate up to 500 points. Yes!! We are the only entrepreneurship club in the world to take you to 5 different countries on business trips!! For these business trips we will cater for your flight ticket, hotel accommodation and visa fees (you need to apply for visas, where applicable, on your own). We also give you $500 in cash to spend when you get to your destination. The summary of these awards are as follows:

a. At 100 points – A one-week business trip to Dubai + $500.00
b. At 200 points – A one-week business trip to Ghana + $500.00
c. At 300 points – A one-week business trip to South Africa + $500.00
d. At 400 points – A one-week business trip to Gambia + $500.00
e. At 500 points – A one-week business trip to Kenya + $500.00

10. Hall of Fame Recognition. At 1,000 points, we will not give you any international trip. Rather, we will give you a N2 million business grant (it is not a loan, so you won’t have to pay back), and then induct you into our Hall of Fame. With our Hall of Fame recognition, you will be invited for all our national and international engagements for FREE with all your travelling needs and Basic Travelling Allowance catered for by us. You will also be able to get quick business loans from us, up to N1 million, to start any venture you desire, interest free for 4 months.

BUSINESS IDEAS

11. We are planning to have at least 100 different business ideas for members to download from our website. Every month, starting from September 2014, we will be adding between 15 and 20 new well-researched business ideas for downloads, until we reach the desired number. Thereafter, we shall listen to business ideas needed by our members that are not already on our list; we will then do the needed research and upload for you.

ADVANTAGES FOR EXISTING MEMBERS

12. Existing members will not be required to pay the difference in membership fees. Also, their current points will not be removed and will still count towards the milestone awards.

13. It is now easier than ever to promote us for milestone points and the associated monetary commissions.
