Yes o! Considering the fact that Akwa Ibom, Delta, Rivers and Edo are also Yoruba states |
Felimax:Bookmark this page. Save this post. This is a policy that will have a long lasting negative effect on the well-being of the populace. You will remember this when the struggle for cash gets too unbearable even after a new government gets therr. This is a problem they created for an assumed urgent problem, without careful thought. It will take grace and very good brains to sort things out. Their candidate will be installed for sure, but unfortunately he doesn't have the capacity to solve the problem. I hope they'll be humble enough to call on technocrats and listen to them when it gets out of hands because this naira issue is sure heading south |
“What is the source of our first suffering? It lies in the fact that we hesitated to speak. It was born in the moment when we accumulated silent things within us.” – Gaton Bachelard The silence of selfish polithiefcians is more deafening than the noise of the oppressor. Let's all speak up now! |
WibusJaga:You are happy today because you think trampling on democracy will help increase your candidate's chances. But what you fail to think about is the aftermath of his dicta. The fact that you didn't speak up will haunt you because When there is oppression and dictatorship, by not speaking out, we lose our dignity. |
Treassured:Yeah, but not for those of us who sweat it out to earn what we earn. I honestly can't afford to lose 30% of my income because I have plans for my money |
People (especially abokeys) who stole money will still carry the money to CBN, CBN will take the money from them, credit their accounts, without querying them. So, why the hullabaloo? Just stressing people, making them carry load upandan ![]() |
Where is Emesiere? I guess he's in disguise ![]() |
grandstar:I'm telling you! |
The speech was not to comfort us, it was an order, an affront, and a threat. I pity Southerners post election... the agenda is Atiku and if it works (which is likely), we will unite by force to ask for our naira back |
So many animals in human form! Why won't I be able to openly declare my support for MY preferred candidate? This is democrazy and I hope it's a skit. I support Sowore and I should be able to say it anywhere. If I like Tinubu and you want to bully me into saying otherwise, there'll be dire consequences...and I don't mean the usual online ranting |
It's safer to mind your business- this is Nigeria! Not minding your business can get you a rent Free space in prison, police cell, six feet under. Besides, there's too much stress everywhere, nobody wants to add more to it! The only time I don't mind my business is when a situation is life threatening...I can't stand it, I poke my nose. But beyond that, I try to resist getting involved in people's lives. |
God, give me friends that I can ask for 2M! I'm tired of people asking me for money! |
How many pieces of this 200 were in circulation prior to your mop up? Why are you not talking about printing more new notes when we can only have access to 200 old notes? I still think your whole plan is flawed! I pray the (s) election holds on Saturday as scheduled, let's move on with our money! If you earn 100k in naija, you'll get 70k if you want cash |
He won't look at the recommendations ![]() |
Wow... just wow! I mean, hearing this when I thought we've heard the worst news about our uncouth military men! Something terrible has happened to law and order in this country, made worse by the error of 2015 |
Obviously they are hybernating because of the election, they are awaiting further instructions |
muykem:He knows what he's saying. The FG is supporting Atiku, that's why Bwala can boldly ask them to remove Wike |
Very funny country... president doesn't respect court order, how will the followers respect his order? I have no respect for any polithiefcian in Nigeria at the moment |
Apparently all the contestants are wicked men. Unfortunately, one of the wicked men will be (s)elected president next week (?) ![]() |
Bubu himself is contempt of citizenry ![]() |
Royalty83:My colleague went for a study in Anambra, she told me she has never suffered this much in her life. Apart from the fact that she trekked most times because of cash, she couldn't get fgd respondents together because of cash, the few that came were extremely late, she couldn't do the interviews. She has argued with me several times before traveling, saying the hardship is bearable. Now she's tired of everything, she wants the old notes back ![]() |
missionmex:That's the point you are missing! He wants to build the "Rome" of cashless policy in a minute, not even a day! Before removing 100% of the cash in a country, you should at least put a few necessary things in place. You can't just wake up and boom, we go cashless. It took the developed countries a lot of years and preparations to achieve some level of cashlessness, not even total like ours |
When will you open portal to pay people new notes? Anuofia ![]() |
I just hate hearing this cashless policy talk. You have not built a country that can implement a cashless policy. No network,no light, once your phone is stolen you stand a chance of losing all your money due to our low level of technology and police incompetence, bankers will defraud you, you can be on one transfer for minutes while you get debited twice and you start writing epistle to get a reversal...I can go on and on! We can't start civilisation with cashless policy, please! |
How is this possible? Nobody can complain in the SE, the discomfort associated with naira scarcity is fully welcome and highly bearable in the SE ![]() |
You are stressing nnocent citizens in a bid to punish one man who unfortunately for you, is a master strategist! Now, the only people with access to old notes will be the polithiefcians, the masses have neither old or new. Tell me why the people will not scramble for pieces of old and new notes at the polling stations! My own concern in all of this is for the wicked dictator to recirculate our old notes or give us new ones! |
That's the reality on ground. My students are all saying they are ready to vote for anyone that gives out new naira notes. It's time for polithiefcians to dangle scarce naira notes before the people ![]() |
Tinubuwins2023e:Leave them be...they will understand the evil of this policy later, after Bubu and the cabals have achieved their evil agenda. I don't see this affecting Tinubu in any way, so who pays for the pain inflicted on innocent Nigerians? |
Chidibe212:This policy is affecting me, but I'm not a polithiefcian, I'm not a rogue; I'm an academic, a researcher and a hard worker. What we are experiencing in Nigeria is an economic war. We are being disarmed through money scarcity. I pay for goods in cash when I travel to the states, and other developed countries. I only use cards when I feel like or for certain goods and services. I couldn't pay successfully yesterday for hours because my network provider(MTN) was offline. What you should understand is that the abokeys have an agenda and things are seriously going their way because we are not united in our fight for economic freedom! |
Cashless policy kill your family there! This is so typical- dumber and dumber when Emesiere meets Bubu! Which underdeveloped country can sustain cashless economy? Just put Atiku like you want and release our cash! Nobody will fight you. I use cash to buy most things I buy in US, UK and China, I only use cards if there's discount or if I feel it's more convenient. Why will you force me to go cashless in a country like Nigeria? My husband has been buying almost everything from foodco and ShopRite, depriving those petty traders of his patronage. Even when they accept transfer, they make loss trying to withdraw the money |
rottennaija:In the words of our "great financial analysts", we don't need cash! They should transfer from one angle to the other like they are making us do ![]() |
When a policy is is being drafted, the people should be considered. A good policy that has a negative long lasting effect on the general wellbeing of the populace should be jettisoned. I personally don't care about who becomes the president because I have come to realise that it is a selection process, a cycle of corruption that comes up every 4 years. What you guys supporting this infamous economic policy don't realise is that it won't stop with the election! The Abokey elites have weaponized poverty by denying us access to our hard earned money. I'm an academic, I can dust my passport and travel with my children and husband, abandon our investments and come back if and when the dust settles, but how many people can do that? I think denying people access to money is a very harsh thing to do. |
