ScamHunter:Like I always say: when the sky falls, it falls on everyone ![]() We will learn by force that Abokey will always rule by fire by force unless we go back to the drawing board, get a consensus southern candidate and vote massively for him/her. Atiku is still the worst of the three popular candidates but he's who the northerners want, but unfortunately there's nothing like a unanimous southern candidate ![]() |
All we are saying...give us new notes, we have money in our bank accounts, stop restricting our access to money we worked hard for! |
Which one is majority and which is the minority? Without clearly contextualizing your terms, you have not made any points sir! |
GBTYO:No, they think whatever affects Tinubu is good even if it harms them in the process. |
Sammy07:A POS operator told me she "bought" her new notes (we can imagine where she "bought" from), hence the 400 on every 5,000 withdrawn! I believe the new notes are already on polithiefcians' hands |
Victorclean1:Your hatred for the Yorubas can't be more clearly stated sir...the feeling is mutual |
There's likely a different version of this story...students get agitated easily! I stopped believing these stories when I visited our clinic to douse a rising tension between the staff and students even when the students were obviously in the wrong! A student was brought in, very weak...was quickly attended to, stabilized, referral note written, yet the students insisted on the student being treated at a facility without the necessary gadgets! Thankfully, we were able to convince them to take the student to the teaching hospital! |
Nigerians are the true definition of 'sufferhead' and that's why we'll rather quietly join the unbearably long queues at filling stations, banks, NIN centers, PVC collection centers etc instead of revolting! Nobody cares; we are just too complacent as a people! We are so annoyingly obsequious, ever ready to kiss the asses of our polithiefcians instead! Forget all the candidates- Nigerians will flood the pages of Twitter, Facebook, Nairaland and every other social media platform with complaints of terrible governance in a few months, regardless of which polithiefcian finds his way to aso villa come February. Nothing works in this country including the people! |
This is what happens when you act before you think, as usual! One would expect a reasonable and sensitive government to consider the ordinary people while taking economic decisions! What stops the old and new notes from being in circulation while the old is gradually phased out? Besides, polithiefcians can afford to stay in their houses while the new notes are delivered to them anywhere, anyhow without any stress. Hence, using this medium to punish a polithiefcian will only hurt the people |
BRIMBRAM:Childish to you because you don't understand Abokey political propaganda or childish because I'm not obidient? Please keep the answer to yourself, biko |
Bubu is not at war with Tinubu because Tinubu is a bad person, NO. He's at war with and not supporting Tinubu because he will rather have another Abokey become the president! Good for Tinubu though; he forgot the golden rule: "trust and deal with an Abokey at your own peril". The plan is for them to enthrone Atiku, I hope it fails |
gasparpisciotta:Really? You must have a different way of measuring performance! I'm sure even you were happier under GEJ |
Corrinthians:Even the most developed countries in the world still allow cash transactions! Transacting without cash is for your own convenience, should be encouraged but not imposed! I can't imagine myself making a transfer of 250 for a napep ride |

Shouldn't you be replacing them with new notes? |
As for those lauding this hardship, the joke is on them! When the sky falls, it falls on everyone |
I believe only Tinubu supporters are suffering as projected by obidients ![]() |
Based on human rights considerations, let them bag lengthy sentences and register as sex offenders instead. Also, they should be unemployable where there are children |
Papichulostunne:Please search your heart and answer truthfully without thinking about Tinubu or the presidential election: 1. Do you have free access to the new naira? 2. Are all your e-transactions hitch free? 3. Have you been receiving the new notes successfully both at POS and ATM? 4. Do you think mopping up money to punish a polithiefcian without considering the populace is a good approach? Please let's look at the stupidity of Emesiere, beyond the election! I'm not voting for anyone but this is affecting me! My old notes (gotten from the bank this morning) was rejected at the market this afternoon and it took me quite a while to convince the seller to accept the notes! We can spend the two until the old gradually fades out! |
Why do people derive so much joy in school closure? They can provide subsidized bus trips to every state capital from the various institutions. They can start on Tuesday and end it on Thursday. Interested students can find their ways to their villages from there |
Omooba77:Lucky you! I'm still waiting for the person that went to queue for fuel at N350 for me ![]() |
It's still valid till 31st, why would anyone abandon old naira notes when they can still change some or all? Sounds like propaganda indeed |

My RA has been to 4 banks this morning, unable to withdraw cash for me! This really is frustrating |
Lionize:With or without the consent of the victims' family? Even if the story is in favor of the boys, there is what we call ethical considerations |
It's funny how some people think any policy "they assume" will affect Tinubu should be lauded, even if it affects everyone in the process! Bubu probably wants to punish Tinubu as insinuated...but in the process, he's throwing the baby with the bath water! The problem here is that this policy will not really affect Tinubu or any other polithiefcian because they have access to these banks more than you and I; they have access to the new naira notes, they have foreign currencies they can change to new naira notes! In all of this, it is the people that will suffer untold hardships trying to meet the deadline, forced to withdraw below what they need. The bank networks are wack, we have to use POS most times! |

Nigerians and indiscipline! They just hate repaying loans! I hope the stupid debtors go to prison after paying their debt |
Bank ATMs still dispense old notes, POS same thing and that will obviously continue till 31st! This is because CBN has not made enough dyed notes available! The only reason bubu is in on this is because of his brother-in-law who is in charge of printing money. I honestly don't blame Emefiele because it's not his turf, he's just a borrowed weapon while the gainers hide in a corner. Whatever rocks their boat...I've limited my purchases to stores, no open market till 1st of February ![]() |
We will transfer 100 to the woman selling ogiri, 150 to the man grinding pepper at the market, 200 to the pepper seller, 300 to the woman selling cello tape (or we buy more of things we don't need or can't afford at that moment so we can make transfer)...or they all better go and sit down at home because of Emesiere's economic policy that supports bigger businesses! I'm doing an ongoing study on market women and I understand how important cash is to the petty traders! They depend on the 100, 250, 480, 300 from different buyers. While it will not affect my purchase at foodco, fumak, ShopRite, Gilead or Bovas, lack of access to new notes will affect small businesses and the very very poor! We need the new naira notes to keep some people in business! |
What of those who are being paid old currency on the daily? I couldn't withdraw money on Saturday because first bank said they had only old notes, hence their refusal to load their ATMs while POS refused to pay only new ones! Whatever good is supposed to come from this dying of the naira notes has been defeated by their inability to make the new notes available |
