Popular French alcoholic brand, Ciroc has reportedly confirmed the partnership deal with former Big Brother Naija housemate, Tacha.

Recall that the reality star fans have been buzzing on social media since she announced the deal on Thursday.

However, some people tagged it to be just an invitation by the brand for a party. Digging the deep to find out the truth, a particular person took to the comment section of one of the brand’s post to confirm the authenticity of the partnership.

Replying to the person, the brand confirmed the deal.

Nigerian actress and Instagram comedienne, Etinosa has backed Naira Marley’s claims that big booty is better than having a Masters degree in Nigeria.

Recall Naira Marley posted this on his Twitter handle last week and got backlash for it. However, the controversial actress is supporting the singer’s statement.

According to Etinosa there are three types of people in Nigeria; the Marlians, those who pretend not to be Marlians and the non Marlians. Etinosa also went on to say that many people are aware of the fact that big butt is better than an MSc degree but would rather live in denial.

Nasarawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested a 42-years-old suspect for attempting to sell his three-year-old son in Laf
Mohammed Mahmoud-Fari, State Commandant of the NSCDC told newsmen on Thursday in Lafia that the man was arrested on Tuesday following a sting operation by the officers of the command.

According to Mahmoud-Fari, the man, who hailed from Obi Local Government Area had concluded plans to sell his son for N5 million.

“Our undercover officers got wind of his plan and opened negotiation with the suspect who offered to sell the son for N5 million.

“He opted to collect the money in cash and it was in the process that we arrested him in Lafia,’’ Mahmoud-Fari said.

The NSCDC boss said investigation revealed that the man has five wives and 23 children, out of which he had already sold a daughter.

Meanwhile, the suspect confessed to the crime and attributed his action to economic hardship, saying he resorted to sell his son to enable him take care of the family.

The commandant also presented to the newsmen a 45-year-old man arrested for allegedly defiling his neighbour’s 10-year-old daughter at Al-Makura Street in Lafia.

Mahmoud-Fari said the suspects would be prosecuted accordingly.

Members of the House of Representatives has warned that Nigeria may suffer another Ebola crisis if measures were not quickly put in place.

The lawmakers said the federal government is not doing enough to prevent another outbreak of the deadly viral disease which is currently ravaging the Democratic Republic of Congo

The lawmakers said this while debating on two motions during Tuesday plenary, the first on the need to put adequate measures regarding the “looming reoccurrence” of the Ebola crisis in Nigeria, and secondly, on the need to honour late Stella Adadevoh

According to the lawmakers, Nigeria is close to Congo and if measures were not put in place, the virus might find its way back into Nigeria.

Paschal Obi, chairman of the house committee on health institutions who sponsored the first motion, said although relevant agencies stepped up to stop the spread of the virus in 2018, little or nothing is being done now.

He said:

“The house is worried that given the proximity of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to Nigeria and other West Africa countries, if necessary measures are not put in place to prevent the reoccurrence of the pandemic in a densely populated country like Nigeria, the impact may worsen and become difficult to curb.

“The house is also worried that aside the airport route which gave access to the initial outbreak of Ebola in Nigeria, there are other routes such as seaports and land borders which enables entry into Nigeria, hence, the need for precautionary measures to be extended to the seaports and land borders.”

Recall that in 2014, Nigeria suffered an Ebola outbreak after a Liberian, Patrick Sawyerr, came into the country with the disease.

There was a mild drama at Court 7, Federal High Court, Abuja, as application by the Department of State Services (DSS) counsel, Hassan Liman, to take witnesses in the ongoing trial of Omoyele Sowore, Convener, #RevolutionNow Protest, in camera failed.

Sowore, alongside Olawale Bakare, is charged by the DSS with treasonable felony, money laundering, among others.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu had, on Oct. 21, adjourned commencement of trial till Nov. 6 and Nov. 7, after varying the bail conditions granted Sowore, and his co-defendant, Bakare.

Justice Ojukwu had granted the order in a ruling on the application for bail variation by the duo.

However, on Wednesday before the commencement of the trial, screen shield was already set up in the court for witnesses to be taken.

But it was dismantled shortly before Justice Ojukwu took her seat.

As soon as court proceeding started, DSS Counsel, Liman, SAN, told the court that the agency was ready to commence the trial based on the order of the court in the last sitting.

However, Counsel to the 1st defendant, Femi Falana, SAN, prayed the court for an adjournment of the matter to enable them perfect the defendants’ bail conditions.

Falana, who told the court that the security outfit had made it difficult for them to have access to the defendants to prepare for the trial, said even in court, they were only given less than five minutes to converse with them.

Quoting the law, he said defendants are expected to be given adequate time and facilities for their defence.

Falana hinted that all the bail conditions have been met but they needed time to perfect them.



He also accused the DSS of planning a secret trail for his client.

However, Counsel to the DSS, Liman, SAN, objected to the application for adjournment, saying the defendants counsel had had ample time to perfect the bail conditions and prepare for the trial.

Liman, who disagreed that the DSS had not given them opportunity to meet the defendants, said they were given unrestricted access to them.

Unhappy with Liman’s response, Falana told Justice Ojukwu that the prosecution counsel had told him before the commencement of the trial that their witnesses would be taken in camera.

He said Liman’s statement was evident with the setting up of screen shield by the witness box close to the judge’s door.

According to Falana, I was told that the witnesses will come in through My Lord’s door to the screen shield where they will testify.

“They have made arrangement with the deputy chief registrar to take the witnesses on camera without our knowledge.

“This is an ambush. But all of a sudden, the court Clark dismantled the shield,” he said.

The lawyer said when Liman discovered that the plan did not, he approached him for a cooperation.

He said the act was meant to embarrass the court and the defendants.

When Justice Ojukwu asked Liman on what transpired, the DSS told the court that an application was made to take the witnesses in camera.

He said though it was not a judicial arrangement, an administrative arrangement was made in that regard through the Deputy Chief Registrar (DCR) of the court, Mr Femi Ekperobe.

Justice Ojukwu, therefore, summoned the DCR to explained why such arrangement was made without the court’s knowledge.

Ekperobe, who confirmed the development, told the court that such arrangement is meant for high profile cases.

•At that point, you start to dream about your blessed and assured "F" in WAEC. To avoid it, you look for a friend to explain better to you. This time, you didn't even look for the babe you were tripping for to come teach you because this time you really want to learn "this thing". You know that if you tell that babe to teach you, no matter what she says, your mind will be on, "is this the day we finally kiss?"

•You remember your parents, the school fees and the "F" you were already dreaming about. You didn't fool yourself. You looked for your guy. You even bought that expensive Further Maths text book. That one where after page one, everything else is written in tongues. You bought rechargeable lamp. Called your mum to bring more provisions because "I now read at night and I get hungry." You mean business. You want to how know how ordinary numbers suddenly changed to Chinese language before your eyes.

•You friend is even kind. He started with BODMAS. He makes you understand nothing in Further Maths is beyond BODMAS. You are happy. Easy. After two hours of learning, you got everything. Your friend should be a teacher you thought. He teaches better. Wow! You feel really good! Back in the hostel alone, you picked two easy "problems," did wuru wuru to the answer. You checked the back for answer. Yay! You gorrit!

•Back in class, the teacher is not even writing letters that you know again, she has gone Greek on you. Tetha, Beta, Alpha, Nought with cancel in the middle. Jargons fighting jargons. Gbese re o! ...argh! As if that wasn't evil enough, she combines them, "tan tetha" "cos tetha" and she draws one snake that look like S like this...That was the point the "F" in your dream became flesh and formed tears on your face. You must call mummy. You know that. Then something said, don't call her. She will think you are an olodo if you don't do "Science class". So you didn't bother.

•You simply just gave yourself brain. Ran faster than Maurice Greene to see what was happening in "Art Class" They were teaching them "the Macpherson constitution" and what made the "Clifford constitution" different. Then they spoke about the "motion for Independence" and the "1979 constitution." You felt at home.

•Next day, you take the Further Maths text books and all the big books like it, over to CMS. Sell them all. LOOOL. You even made profit off a bad situation, you thought.
This is a true life story of friends I know. You know this story somehow. People who were really brilliant but had no business in "Science Class" but "had" to be there...

•Our society insists; smart people are in Science Class. The others join Art Class. This is tragic and I really pray this stops soon! There are no dumb people. You are smart at what you thrive at and most of us thrive at something...That I can't thrive at what you thrive at doesn't make me dumb.

This is University of Benin(Uniben) department of Social Sciences. I was shocked when I wanted to use the faculty’s toilet last week and I discovered that most of the students project work was stored inside the toilet space and some of the project has even soaked up.
