The average movie/series discussion by Nigerians on Twitter and nairaland - A: "This movie is trash 2/10" B: "What are the issues with this movie, I think it was great" A: "The acting was nonsense, infact the movie was just trash" B: "Can you explain how it was trash, I thought the character arc of x character was done well, the story kept expanding and revealing layers" A: "You're saying nonsense, it was just trash and I don't owe you any explanation...I'm free to call any movie I like trash, it's my opinion" B: "But you should be able to explain or defend your opinion" A: "Mumu leave me alone, it is trash and that is all" OR A: "This movie was great" B: "I thought it was awful. (Proceeds to write and explain in long paragraphs many issues with the movie" A: "Mumu, you're saying nonsense, the movie was good. Everything you're saying doesn't make sense. You are expecting it to be like your favorite movie." B: "tell me how my points don't make sense. And what brought my favorite movie into this conversation?" A: "leave me alone, the movie was good, if you don't like it move along. Your favorite movie is trash" Even though I tend to disagree with some people here and argue with them, I very much prefer those over the ones who make random statements that they cannot defend and resort to insults |
Whenever I watch Barca I get shocked at Xavi's tactical ineptitude. We play the same tikitaka with Man City yet Xavi cannot seem to understand the basics of how Pep defeats Highline. Whenever our opponents play the Highline, Xavi just spams long balls hoping for some magic...which is quite shocking since that is exactly what our opponents want. The reason our opponents use Highline is to force us into pointless long balls and make it so that they can switch to attack instantly in any ball recovery for them As someone who watches Man City a lot, I'll explain the simple way Pep beats Highline. It boils down to 2 main things: 1. His wingers advancing the line 2. His midfielders and defenders advancing with the wingers. Xavi fails in both aspects. Pep constantly has Grealish or Doku or even Bernardo taking on players on the wing...the purpose most of the time is not to beat their marker but to advance the line by pushing their marker back. Grealish is one of the best at doing this...he won't take on, but he will push you all the way to your box then pass back and instantly the entire Man City team is in your half... Rodri and the other midfielders are also constantly moving around and covering for lapses in different areas of midfield. Their defenders also do the same...take on the midfield role when needed to advance their line. This way even when the opponent recovers the ball, they have a long way to travel to even start any attack since they are completely pinned down around their own box. It's a basic tactic that Xavi should have emulated since but for some reason he can't see it or doesn't want to... Instead our wing just exists to cross the ball Even when Dembele was here he was reduced into beating opponents on the wing and crossing the ball instead of retaining possession and pushing the line |
Blueelf:I have made my point because I have been disappointed so far... I just checked the MAL page... The fans themselves aren't even denying it lol... I guess I'll just kill any iota of expectation I have for the show and finish the season There are other good shows I'm following this season

Baddestguyp:Just to clarify...the issue with Solo Leveling seems to be a very common issue among most popular manhwas... For some weird reason they all seem to follow the same pattern...Solo Leveling, TBATE, The Gamer etc... The only tangible one I've read is Tower of God and I didn't finish it so I don't know what it became... Noblesse also showed some promise but quickly became crap and I got fed up... But yet I've seen good Korean shows based of manhwas and webtoons yet these manhwas are never the popular ones hyped so no one knows about them. E.g Hellbound and Death's Game were based off manhwas... |
Blueelf:I'm still wondering what brought AOT or Eren into this argument. And the fact that you keep missing my point is shocking... We are 6 episodes in and the entire story is just guy survived one dungeon and got a power...and he keeps fighting monsters and powering up while flexing...and girls don dey crush on his six packs Clear MO of a power fantasy When I spoke about character work, so far several characters have been mentioned or shown on screen yet not a single character aside the MC has had any focus. Basically all the characters introduced seem to have no personality. Compare the first 6 episodes of JJK for instance. In 6 episodes we already knew the personalities of not just Itadori, but also Megumi, Nobara, Gojo, even the principal who appeared in just 2 episodes then had more personality than every Character aside the MC in Solo Leveling... In SL, even his female friend from episode 1 and 2 suffered trauma and has been forgotten about since episode 2 while only the MC has remained relevant... It seems like all these Hunters just exist for the MC to surpass...and the other characters just to praise and be wowed by the MC's strength and looks... Despite all the hype...the show is becoming nothing more than a generic power fantasy... I was warned anyway even before it aired that it has no substance...but I chose to give the show a chance...but so far it's been disappointing imo Even a close friend went ahead to read the manhwa...and omo I'm trying hard not to be discouraged by what he said... Cos he deleted his entire folder and quit the anime after reading ahead in the manhwa |
Ninja Kamui episode 1 First impressions - **Spoilers below The animation and fight sequences are top notch and pretty fast...it's epic and I have no complaints there... However personally I prefer more tactical battles... something that makes each fight memorable and not just swift sequences... The story - it's too early to tell...I'm kind of tired of the whole family got killed and he's seeking revenge plotline...but let's see how it develops... I hope the entire show isn't just revenge but focuses on other aspects of the world...lore etc...we saw some ninja techniques (ninjutsu) in action... I hope the story can explode them more The Music - I hated it...awful. I don't know who the music director is but he did an awful job in this first episode. The music constantly being used never fits the scene... The music keeps making me lose immersion... The Japanese are really good when it comes to music...i might be wrong but I don't think they're the ones I charge of Music in this show... Overall thoughts- A pretty decent start...but too much action sequences imo...I hope the next episode slows down the action and focuses on more character work... As much as I enjoyed this episode, I hope other episodes don't move at this pace.

Blueelf:If you're enjoying Solo Leveling for the action and power fantasy story, there's nothing wrong in that... But I'm not a fan of that...I'll probably just finish the season hoping it improves... But till now you're unable to even make a single sentence to counter my points about the story and the awful character writing |
In other news, Ninja Kamui episode 1 is out |
Blueelf:You're further proving my point about your 0 media literacy I love how you didn't counter any point I raised about the plot of the show or the characters... But instead chose to attack me and another show... This is not your first time... You've never made a single point on this thread...all you do is attack and attack people... Even when you make statements you can't defend your statements, so you run away instead. 0 media literacy |
Blueelf:You when know nothing about plot or character writing... You think I'm expecting anything from you? |
armadeo:I'm still yet to see what you guys enjoy in Solo Leveling. 6 episodes in and barely anyone is a character apart from the MC. It's just rinse repeat of him getting stronger and battling monsters in dungeons and some Hunters drama... The characters so far seem so bland and basic that I doubt I would ever care about any of the characters... Too much focus on the MC looking cool and saying cool words with barely any focus on the plot. It's looking like another Demon Slayer or even worse since Demon Slayer at least got us to care for several characters... |
asids55:Will you watch anime? Will you watch Korean shows? |
Arthurity1:Is it out now? |
CBTxFactor:I have this show downloaded. Be like say it's time to start it. |
blingxx:Not really tho. Many of the main characters survived at the end of Attack on Titan. What was worse is the post credits scene that showed the war in the future and the "possible return of Titans" I'm currently having an argument with someone on Reddit who said the post-credits scene of AOT made the entire story pointless because war returned and he said the author should have found a solution to war and human conflict. I don't understand how they want an author to find a solution that billions of humans for thousand of years have not found... It's like say all our peace talks are pointless because sometime in the future, World War 3 will still happen |
Achilles100:The thing is the Superbowl is still classified as a sporting event. When they show lists of the most viewed sporting events, it's among. But more than half the viewers are watching for movie trailers or the performance of artists. Everytime there is a Superbowl, it is these things that trend instead of the actual game. Imagine if we have the world cup final or UCL final and it's Rihanna's performance that is trending or the trailer of the upcoming Batman movie |
SOZINN:Tell me if I lied. I may have detracted by going into sports but it doesn't change any of the facts I stated. Superbowl was supposed to be a sporting event...but for many years you could hardly call it one since all everyone talks about are the movie trailers and artiste performances. |
samistry:Akame ga Kill pretty much killed off almost all its characters at the end. And I heard that the manga didn't end that way...most of them survived in the manga The anime producers really wanted to hurt the fans lmao |
Chibudollar:Three (3) months later I'm still sad about Attack on Titan ending. I still check AOT content daily, post about AOT, get sad when I think about events in AOT etc... That is me |
SOZINN:Biggest sporting event in America turned into a movie trailers and artiste performance with millions of ads... This is one of the reasons I will forever be against the Super League and their American sponsors |
OhBritannia:No, dumping Power was not my loss. The first series was enjoyable but not great writing-wise. It was more like a dûmb-fun or "shut-off-your-brain-and-watch" There is no indication from what I could tell that the writing improved in the other books...and the whole dûmb-fun thing cannot keep me invested for very long |
Happy Birthday Mikasa Ackerman 🎂🎂🎂
|
Chibudollar:Dumped Power after the first book ended. While the first book was fun to watch, the writing wasn't something to take home... I didn't see the need to hop into the next books |
samistry:I dunno what you're saying... Their CGI is good enough that it doesn't distract from their movies/shows... And not everyone is like Hollywood that has $200m in budget for everything. If they use $200m to produce a movie/show, will you help them recoup their money? Even Hollywood with their insane budget still dey drop clunky CGI... Thor love and thunder, The Flash etc |
Softcore BDSM pôrn in disguise lol ![]()
|
samistry:Anime is not a genre... Anime is a medium... Comparing a medium to Superhero genre is insane...wtf It's like comparing superhero movies to all novels... You can see how insane you sound 🤡🤡🤡 |
abduleez1:Omo we go chop Belle full this month |
oyaskii: ![]() Cry more. Why are you so pained because you are made aware of the FACT that audiences are tired of your superhero genre? The truth really hurts I guess... How you clôwns keep denying superhero fatigue should be studied...almost cult level denial... Like round-earth believers ![]() The same way audiences dumped your tired and repititive Superhero comics is the same way they're dumping your repititive movies... I even heard THE MARVELS is now straight to streaming already Yet "Superhero Fatigue isn't real...it's only a myth" 🤡🤡🤡 Cry harder ![]() |
oyaskii:@bolded So you have finally admitted superhero fatigue...I thought you guys would keep deluding yourselves into believing audiences weren't getting tired of the Superhero genre... Maybe I'll finally stop trolling y'all now that you've admitted ![]() |
SOZINN:Planning movies for 2027 when Superhero movies are almost dead already...lmao |
Chibudollar:I believe they said the next 4 episodes will drop March or April...can't even remember... I barely care at this point, but I'll probably watch it when it airs |
