The manga also released many controversial chapters with major spoilers so I won't specify...but these added to the impact and demand...
And the anime was definitely the biggest anime of the year...

This show is nothing like the Mr and Mrs Smith movie.

In fact if they didn't use the title, no one would compare them.

I guess they just used the title to sell the show... because most of us sef wouldnt have watched it if not for the title..

Grew into their dynamic. The show focused to exploring the dynamics of their relationship.

They also didn't act very professional in a lot of instances. It's amazing they weren't caught with the amount of public iish they did...

I was on Quora over a year ago when someone said Netflix was hoping that The Witcher would be their own Game of Thrones, and I thought they were just reaching; now I see clearly. Since HBO's success with Game of Thrones, Netflix has been looking for their own record-breaking fantasy television series.

Since the Witcher failed, ATLA provides another opportunity for them to dethrone Game of Thrones or create something close to that masterpiece. Any theories about why they are toning down Sokka's sexism may be unfounded, but this is a fact. Netflix is reducing most of Aang's adventures on his journey and toning down the fun in order to make the show more mature for those who may be expecting something similar to Game of Thrones.

I just don't see how the show will have the same impact as Game of Thrones. It's just impossible.

If they focus too much on making ATLA more mature, it would become another show entirely...

ATLA is a kids cartoon...with a mostly kids cast.

Game of Thrones didn't only become popular cos it was good for adults...
Game of Thrones had a pretty mature world, mature characters to go with the great writing.


For me, the better fix would be to give the themes of ATLA more depth without changing it or changing the characters...
The biggest flaw of ATLA was that because it was made for kids, a lot of it's themes were just touched on and weren't given enough depth...

That is all that the live action needs to improve...not all these changes to characters...not all these removing sèxism...not all these cleansing and claiming that it's a 15 years old show so it's ideals won't work now...

They don't need to bring woke shii...

Just keep the world as fun as it was in the cartoon but make the dark parts darker and highlight and focus on the themes more...
You can make the world fun but still highlight the cruelties of war in a far darker way than the cartoon could ever do...

One Piece worked cos it didn't try to "cleanse" the source material. It kept the tone. They didn't try to make it overly mature too...

Anyway storywise, it's the usual generic one-man army movie about a retired beekeeper or special agent or special ops or whatever it is called depending on the movie...

The movie isn't taking itself too seriously...it's more of a casual fun movie...

One year ago, the DCU slate was born.

I remember a year ago as I was salivating for Milly Alcock and her fellow HBO "House of The Dragon" cast to join the DCU with fellow DC fans back then.
Seeing it come to fruition is a dream come true.
I'm liking the James Gunn led DCU I'm seeing. Taking initiative ASAP. This is what I've been saying for a while now. We need young actors who already have momentum and are somewhat popular in a at least a dedicated audience to lead important roles for DC. Not the literal unknowns we've been hiring for the past two and half years.
Our films didn't have momentum with the young zeitgeist and up-and-coming stars about to blow up.

Glad to see the vision from James Gunn with his impeccable casting and nice assemblage of directors and talent.


I've always wanted Circe in DC films and seeing that with this perfect casting is superb.

All these only for DCU to start with the same generic Superhero storylines we've seen a million times before.

To a lot of people it is, to you it isn't, there's a lot of difference. Also, the movie ended the career of 80% of everyone who worked on the movie not just actors but VFX team, storyboarders, the writers. This even impacted the fourth season they were planning

No doubt it's a terrible movie...
But the movie is nowhere near the worst movie ever...

It's just kids overestimating how bad it was because the adaptation of their childhood show got ruined lol...

I'm an AOT fan, have you seen the AOT movies...I can guarantee you they are far worse movies than The Last Airbender movie...
They completely changed characters, combined some characters into one, changed the entire story...
In fact the only similarity was title and the existence of Titans....

The ATLA movie at least left the characters and the shell of the story intact...

That's why the industry is so cooked. The ratio of garbage project to Quality ones favor the latter. Showrunners and Filmmakers have to be careful with their content, so as not to offend the gazillion weirdo activist circles with thier silly agendas and fetishes. Pandering to these lot would be mean there is little room left for clear thinking and quality. It's sickening.

The original creators of the OG Avatar show, left this Netflix's adaption because of "creative differences"....says alot.

The said "sexism" was infact very important or probably the most important element that made Sokka's character arc and development one of the best in the entire thing. From belittling his sister, to meeting the Kyoshi warriors and ultimately finding out his sister who he had little regard for, was infact a master bender thus completely changing his view for the better.

So how are you going to cut or tone down this elite character arc because some eyes and ears will be too brittle to see and hear it??

Anyway, i am already half arsed about this live action tbh, so I can't be bothered.
