PhonesRe: Subscriber Options for UNLIMITED Internet - WORTH IT? by BadMaster: 9:01am On Mar 01, 2024
Dam5reey:
I sent mail to airtelbusiness@ng.airtel.com, and their affiliate called 2 days later.
I confirmed again and again, if it's true unlimited and there is no Fair usage, though i don't do heavy downloads i don't just want data to stop in the middle of the month, the representative confirmed its true unlimited no cap or fair usage
I was sent the SIM pack details went to register and made a 20k payment on the website, for the 20Mbps Unlimited plan.
and they sent me the Device.
Okay, thanks for the info. I am just wondering if the 5G device may be available at their main offices around the country. I will check at their headquarters where I am.
Could it be that they have decided to issue the uncapped plans with 4G router and not the 5G router, given that the highest speed is 60Mbps? So they just tell customers that 5G router is out of stock?

Dam5reey:
Just got the Airtel 4G smart box with Unlimited 20Mbps. So far so good, as you posted it's like 10Mbps which is sufficient for my needs @20k and it's moveable anywhere coverage is.

They said 5G box is out of stock.
Did you get it from Airtel office itself or their affiliates like Shopnig?

Sorry o, please how did you use 650GB when Airtel wrote it on their website that the 20K unlimited plan is actually 120GB cap, then 5GB free daily at a capped speed after you exceed the 120GB. So how on earth did you see 650GB to use. Even if you finish the 120GB then used the 5GB per day, that is still a total of 270GB. Abeg I am confused
These are different plans. Read about unlimited EBB plans here https://www.airtel.com.ng/Unlimited-EBB

Starlink kwa?

You're a big man ooo ... Stick with starlink na ... i heard the monthly payment is 38k Naira, is that true?

Yeah, my son streams youtube endlessly

My wife, facebook, instagram and youtube videos

And me, i watch lorry loads of tiktok, download heavy files etc and all this take place at same time....

There are network issues sometimes o but its just like 1 to 3 hours ....

Why do u want to leave starlink?

I'll advise u stick to starlink sha cos of the speed is waaaaay superior to this airtel
😂 I am not a big man oh... Yes, Starlink Standard plan is 38k and it's quite fast, though not as fast as it was before.

I am not leaving Starlink oh, just want try the Airtel out of curiosity. Starlink is still the best, as far as Nigeria is concerned.

Yeah ... just tell them u want the speed based plans and they will give u the least which is 20mbps ....

**** The other option is 240gb for 20k monthly (I can't tell if its still available) which does pay some people sha but me, e no worth am .... currently now, we don use over 370gb (as at this night)
Thanks for the info. I currently use Starlink, but I would like to try this out.

Are you able to stream from multiple devices concurrently without buffering?

Once u pay 30k for the purchase of the router, 1 month speed based plan comes with it.

So u don't pay sub fees after paying 30k ... i hope that's clear enough?
Thanks. One more question. Are you the one to choose the speed based plan to be activated the first time?
PhonesRe: Please Guys: Which Unlimited Data Do You Use. by BadMaster: 12:36pm On Feb 27, 2024
bigl:
Its 5G router plan.

You pay 30k, airtel give us a 5G router with 2 options of either speed based or data based plan.

The data based plan is about 20k for 240gb for 30 days

The other option is speed based plans:

20mbps for 20k monthly
40mbps for 35k monthly
60mbps for 50k monthly

Na the 20mbps plan i opted for and i've been using it since December 2023 ....

Bretheren, the speed based plan no dey finish ....

Find below the screenshot of the router and also, my usage for February ... check the date and time for the screenshot on my laptop
If I understand your explanation correctly, at the point of registering for the service, one is expected to pay 30k for the router and additional payment for the specific plan you want? Or you only need to pay for the router at first purchase?

I am asking because you also mentioned that first month subscription is free, so I am a bit confused.

Hello Guys,

For two weeks now I have been trying to renew my starlink monthly subscription but to no avail. I have tried my naira master card and dollar visa card yet none seems to be working.

Is anyone else facing thesame challenge?
Providus MasterCard works fine. GT bank Naira MasterCard that has always worked for me doesn't work anymore.

It depends on the users. I use more than that in two months. I don't download or play online games, strictly streaming of Netflix, Prime, IPTV and other streaming services.

I have a question: I currently use Starlink in Awka and am planning to move to Lagos. Will my Starlink service still work if I take it with me to Lagos?
Most of Lagos, if not all, is at full capacity at the moment, so you may have to switch to regional-mobile plan when you get there.

I just confirmed that GT bank Naira MasterCard doesn't work for Starlink payment anymore, but I was able to pay with Providus Naira MasterCard.

BadMaster:
So, I have been using Starlink since February last year, and it was excellent. I use to get speeds up to 300Mbps+. After moving to a new location, I observed that my speed really tanked. In fact, I have not seen 200Mbps. Initially, I thought my dishy or cable was faulty, so I asked Starlink support to carry out checks on my kits for confirmation. Starlink support reverted back to me after thorough checks(according to them), informing me that my dishy and cable are in excellent conditions, however, I am experiencing extremely high level interferance. They then asked me to capture my installation and my immediate surrounding. I did as advised.

The thing is, I live directly under a large mast/base station. According to Starlink, the base station is the culprit, and there's little to nothing I can do to improve Starlink service. Though I could try to move the dishy around my roof, but given the proximity, it would probably not change anything.

This is for your information only. In case anyone is experiencing similar challenges.
Update:
Something I forgot to add previously. Aside informing me that my Starlink dishy was experiencing high interference, they also informed me that checks show that there's something wrong with my router configuration (I don't know what this means), indicating that my router and ethernet adapter are needing replacement. So they sent a replacement router and ethernet adapter. However, according to Starlink support, it would not resolve the interference I am experiencing.

Today, I took delivery of the replacement router and ethernet adapter.

Starlink's service delivery can't be compared with our service providers here in Nigeria. If there's an issue with your kit, they will be honest about it, and if need be, replacements would sent, for free.

If you are experiencing challenges and you have done all else to resolve it, feel free to ask them to carry out checks on your kits.

Correct this is good. That means residential is even better. Love this
From my personal experience, in Nigeria, residential or Standard plan as it's now called, enjoy the same or similar speed as Roam or Mobile-regional as it's now called. Standard plan subscribers do not enjoy priority over Mobile-regional subscribers in Nigeria.

Results vary as they connect to various networks when online.
For better speed accuracy, use Speedtest.net app or website. You may also use fast.com.

I hope you have splitted the Wifi channels, that is 5Ghz and 2.4Gh.

Who buys battery and keep?
Ba3 should be the last in case your plans didn't work out as proposed, you can easily sell the solar panels and inverter
I think the poster meant to say, one should buy a hybrid inverter first, then batteries. That way, you can use the grid to be charging your batteries. Then, when you have enough money, buy solar panels too.
