Ayodele70: President Muhammadu Buhari’s son, Yusuf, who started his mandatory National Youth Service Corps, for the 2018 batch C stream 1, has already received his NYSC discharge certificate.
Yusuf received his certificate yesterday, March 15th during the 2018 Batch A Passing Out Parade.
The compulsory National service is 12 months, but calculating by when his sister, Zahra Indimi, confirmed in November that the President’s son had started the mandatory NYSC, Yusuf has done only 4 out of the 12 months of his NYSC and already has his certificate.
Zahra shared the information on her Insta-story on Instagram, showing Yusuf’s photograph in the NYSC kit.
Recall that the day Zahra shared the photo, 2018 batch C corps members had just resumed in camp.
This is already raising questions. Did he start earlier before his sister showed made the post?
See photo of him with his discharge certificate here; http://www.amagitesblog.com/2019/03/yusuf-buhari-receives-nysc-certificate-despite-not-completing-his-service-year.html

ebusnwaoma: A Nigerian journalist Dr Ode Okore, has been awarded a total of $99,599 and a separate N3m by the National Industrial Court, Lagos Division, in a 33-year-old case against The Guardian newspaper. Dr Ode Okore who was the newspaper's foreign correspondent at one time and also in charge of The Guardian North American Bureau in New York, had in August 1986 sued the newspaper before the Lagos State High Court for wrongful termination of his employment.
However the case was struck out in its 26th year by the state high court, over lack of jurisdiction following the amendment to the 1999 Constitution (Third Alteration Act 2010), which took effect on March 4, 2011.Okore however filed a fresh one before the National Industrial Court, Lagos Division in August 2013, which was struck out in March 2017, after which, the unrelenting journalist filed a third one in November 2017. The Nigerian journalist in a new twist of event, was then awarded $99,599 and N3m in the 33-year-old case which Justice Nelson Ogbuanya presided in.
Punch reported that the Judge who dismissed the preliminary objection of the newspaper that the case was statute-barred, misconceived, frivolous, vexatious and constituted an abuse of court processes, held that it was not Okore’s fault that the state high court struck out his case, which had lasted 26 years in court, before the constitution was amended to strip the high court of jurisdiction.

dachilino: Jimi Agbaje has revealed he lost the Lagos Governorship election to the All Progressives Congress, APC candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu. In an interview with PUNCH shortly after the result of the governorship election was announced, Jimi Agbaje who lamented the low voter turnout in Lagos State, said it was less than 20 per cent of the total number of persons that collected Permanent Voter Cards.
He further said that threats, coupled with the manner in which the presidential election was conducted, led to the voter apathy witnessed in the nation’s commercial nerve centre.
Jimi Agbaje also disclosed that he lost the Lagos Governorship election as many of his supporters were intimidated, and even threatened with eviction and sack if the PDP won in their areas. He added that rather than risk their lives and their livelihood, the people decided to sit at home which gave his opponent the upper hand.
“From the outset it was clear that the numbers were on our side and naturally, that was our comparable strength but the moment you had the numbers slashed, then we were at a disadvantage. The strategy of the other side was to make sure that those numbers did not come out to vote and to that extent it has worked in their favour.”“It is not good for our democracy when only about 20 per cent come out to vote. There was voter apathy because of the event that happened during the presidential election.”
