made4naijamusic: There was mild drama, yesterday on Aganmwonyi street, off Goodwill Road, Benin, Edo State, as a client failed to pay the agreed sum to a sex worker.
The man (in striped shirt) had initially agreed to pay the sum of N7k, but when they were done he gave her only N1k.
However, a scene created by the aggrieved lady, attracted many passersby and to prevent a total breakdown of law and order, a man (wearing cap) eventually gave her the balance.

IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, has slammed foreign election observers in Nigeria over their remarks about the conduct of 2019 presidential election in Nigeria.
Nnamdi Kanu blasted the Oyinbo election observers saying he never knew white men can lie like this.
The international election observers gave the Nigerian election and the conduct a very good pass mark.
Kanu shared the video and wrote:
"Now we know our problem is more than we previously thought. The Satanic alliance between the colonial powers and the devilish Islamic Jihadists of the caliphate is far more deeper than previously imagined. I never knew a white person can lie so perfectly. Only Biafra can save us."

Politics › Re: APC's Abdulrazaq To Repeal Foul Law Granting Pensions To Ex-governors, Deputies by Badonasty(m): 4:20pm On Feb 28, 2019 |
LocalChamp: Adekunle Jimoh, Ilorin February 28, 2019 Governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Thursday promised to repeal the law granting pensions to former governors and their deputies.
This according to him would free up resources for the masses if elected into office.
He urged the people to vote for him and all the APC candidates for the House of Assembly in the March 9 elections in Kwara.
“We need to change some terrible laws. We’ll repeal that obnoxious pension law when we get to office,” AbdulRazaq said during his campaign stop at Omu Aran in Kwara South and again in Pategi in Kwara North.
“It’s a privilege to become a governor of a state. It is dubious for anyone to become governor and then earn a pension more than people who served the state for their entire lives. We can’t take that anymore. But we need enough lawmakers to push through the repeal of the offensive law.”
The Kwara state pension law for former governors and their deputies has continued to raise eyebrows, with the masses and civil servants often decrying it as unjust and a rip off to the state.
Speaking at the rally, AbdulRazaq also said his administration will invest in security, local economy and youth empowerment in a bid to stamp out thuggery and bring government closer to the grassroots.
“We need to work seriously. We need to revamp the economy of Kwara State. We need to bring jobs to our people. We need to address security issues. Instead of funding police, they arm thugs. We will help the police by offering assistance they need to secure our communities,” he added.
He also vowed to join the efforts to grant full autonomy to the local government areas, insisting that is the only way to grow the local economy and halt the unhealthy exodus of people to the cities.
AbdulRazaq is on a fresh round of campaign tours of all the senatorial districts of the state, beginning with the Kwara South on Tuesday and Wednesday and Pategi in the northern axis of the state.

zayidhs: UK statement on re-election of President Buhari in Nigeria
Minister of State for Africa, Harriett Baldwin, congratulates President Buhari on securing a second term as the Nigerian President
Last night the Independent National Electoral Commission of Nigeria declared President Buhari the winner of the 2019 Presidential elections.
Minister of State for Africa, Harriett Baldwin, said: I offer my congratulations to President Buhari on securing a second term as the Nigerian President. The UK is a long-standing friend and partner of Nigeria and the Nigerian people, and a stable and prosperous Nigeria benefits Africa and the world.
The Nigerian people have demonstrated resilience and a commitment to democracy. The result declared by the Nigerian election commission is consistent with the result obtained through the civil society Parallel Vote Tabulation process. Along with our international partners, the UK believes the Nigerian people can have confidence in the result.
However, we also recognise that independent Nigerian voices have expressed concerns about the conduct of the electoral process, in particular logistics and results collation, and reports of intimidation of election officials. We urge any party or individual who wishes to challenge the process to do so peacefully and through the appropriate legal channel and we encourage Nigerian authorities to examine all allegations of wrongdoing carefully, and take the necessary action against individuals found responsible.
My thoughts are also with the families and friends of those who lost their lives in election-related violence. No one should die in the exercise of their democratic rights. We will continue to support Nigeria and its civil society in drawing lessons from these elections and strengthening its democracy.

Politics › Re: PDP Refuses To Sign Presidential Election Result Sheet by Badonasty(m): 12:26pm On Feb 27, 2019 |
queenblog: The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have refused to sign the result sheet of the Presidential election which was announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja early this morning.
According to the results announced by the electoral body, President Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC)had highest votes of 15,191, 847 votes to defeat his closest rival, Atiku Abubakar of the PDP who polled 11,262,978 votes.
Buhari won in 19 states while Atiku won in 17 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Shortly after the result was announced, the chairman of the commission, Yakubu Mahmood, called on everyone to come forward to sign the result sheet. However, the PDP representative, Osita Chidoka, left the hall at the National Collation Centre.
In an interview with newsmen, Chidoka said his party does not accept the election result for three reasons. He said that the party had expected INEC would project the result of the Smart Card Readers used for accreditation of voters.
“The second one is the issues we raised about the number of registered vis-à-vis if what the chairman now calls collated voters means that 1.6 million people are missing in the voter register. We think that the issue is substantial enough to require a resolution. We also believed that difference between the accredited voters and the total votes cast which came to about 750,000 votes, requires an issue to be looked at. Finally, we believe that INEC needs to look at the cancellations that took place in the election impacting 2.7 million.
“So, in our view, this election needs to be looked at again and possibly we would have had a re-run, more importantly. We think that INEC should have looked consciously to the use of the card reader. The absence of card reader is a major violation in the elections, it renders that election null and void, and that is what the chairman promised us. So, for us in the PDP, we believe that this is a new law in Nigeria’s electoral history.’’
Chidoka, however, said that the PDP remained a very lawful party, saying “we believe in the law, we believe in the constitution of Nigeria. We are committed democrats. The PDP is a party that entrenched democracy in Nigeria. The PDP is the party that made it possible for Nigeria to enjoy the fruit and dividend of democracy. We will continue to support democracy in Nigeria, we will continue to promote democracy in Nigeria but we have a good message for Nigerians. We want them to remain peaceful. We will explore all our options, including the believe that the legal process in Nigeria is one of the ways to resolve issues.’’

Ashleyeniwin: Court dismisses certificate suit against Buhari
A Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has struck out the case seeking to disqualify President Muhammadu Buhari from the 2019 elections over circumstances surrounding his school certificate.
BUHARI A lawyer, Lezina Amegua, had prayed the court to compel the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to disqualify the President, but the trial judge, Justice Ishaq Sani, struck out the case for lack of merit. Also joined as respondents in the suit were All Progressives Congress, APC, and the Attorney-General of the Federation.
Amegua had sought an order of the court for the President to produce his original school certificate or its equivalent and master sheet of the said results before the court and for INEC to also tender receipt of its record of same documents or its equivalent submitted to it by the President. Justice Sani, in his ruling, said the plaintiff from the facts deposed to in his affidavit in support, did not show how production of the first defendant’s original school certificate or its equivalent affects his interest as an individual.
The court further held that the plaintiff did not contest any electoral position in 2015, neither was he a presidential candidate nor a political party to protest the participation and qualification of the President in 2015 and the 2019 general election.
According to Justice Sani, “the concept of locus standi focuses not on the merit of the case, but of the person seeking to approach the court. “The essence is to protect the court from being used as playground by professional litigants, busy bodies, meddlesome interlopers and cranks that have no real stake or interest in the subject matter of the litigation they seek to pursue.
“I agree with learned counsel for the fourth defendant that the plaintiff has no relationship with the reliefs in this suit and to grant same as rightly submitted would amount to opening the floodgates for the institution of actions, whether or not it affects the right of the plaintiff.
“There must be a dispute between a person who makes a claim and the one against whom the claim is made and the action must be justiciable.
“Plaintiff must show that the act complained of affects rights and obliga-tions peculiar or personal thereto. He must also show that his private rights have been infringed upon or there is a threat of such infringement or injury.”

Politics › Re: Atiku's Close Friend Kwande Urges Him To 'pick Up The Phone And Call Buhari' by Badonasty(m): 7:03am On Feb 27, 2019 |
Ebullience: Yahaya Kwande, a close associate of Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has advised him to call and congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari.
Kwande, Grand Patron of the Waziri of the Adamawa Solidarity Vanguard, gave the advice on Tuesday in reference to the ongoing announcement of the presidential results by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to the results announced so far by the electoral body, President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is leading by a wide margin and is favourite to win.
A press statement personally signed by Kwande reads: "Results so far announced from Saturday’s presidential election have confirmed the choice made by Nigerians. They have resoundingly elected President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the election.
"Even though, I am a long time friend and associate of his closest rival, His Excellency Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), I heartily congratulate President Buhari for his win and the confidence Nigerians reposed in him by asking him to serve another four years in office.
"By the same token, I call on my friend, associate and brother, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, to pick up his phone and make the call to congratulate the President-elect. It is imperative that he toes the path of honour and do the needful to save the country of any conflagration. Our recent history under former President Goodluck Jonathan proved that this simple act has the full potential to keep Nigeria peaceful.
"Providence has given Atiku the uncommon favour of having his Jonathan moment by ending the long wait and apprehension as Nigerians await the final tally, which has by the way become a matter of symbolism since the outcome is already known.
"The atmosphere has become unnecessarily tense as those who failed Atiku politically continue to give his party and supporters false hope even in the face of a harsh reality. Only the Wazirin of Adamawa has the capacity to defuse this unhealthy tension and save this country from any implosion as some overzealous persons are waiting to make a mockery of our democratic process and further shatter the bonds of unity that holds our country together. I implore again that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar makes that call before the enemies of Nigeria exploit his delay to do the unthinkable."
Yahaya also advised President Buhari to be magnanimous in victory by ordering his supporters to desist from making derisive and derogatory comments that could provoke supporters of his opponents, who are still trying to process their losses at the polls.

Abagworo: The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has disowned its Ad hoc staff, Innocent Ibeawuchi, who was the Returning Officer of last Saturday’s National Assembly election in Imo State and has confirmed Governor Rochas Okorocha as the senator-elect for Imo West District.
Ibeabuchi, after declaring Okorocha winner of the election, at the Orlu INEC Collation Centre, alleged shortly in another chat with the media in Owerri, the state capital, that he was made to declare the governor under duress.
But INEC, speaking through its Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Emmanuella Okwara, maintained that Ibeawuchi is on his own.
Okwara further pointed out that what transpired between Ibeabuchi and the governor is entirely his business, and advised him to make his report officially to the commission; if his claims were true.
She said: “What transpired between them is his business, but the only person we have cleared so far is governor Okorocha.”
Meanwhile, INEC has declared the Imo North senatorial district and House of Representatives elections inconclusive, following alleged irregularities that marred the election.
Elsewhere, the Returning Officer for Anambra South senatorial district, Prof. Meshach N. Umenweke has declared the election inconclusive.
Prof. Umenweke said he announced the result he had at the moment and declared the candidate of the Young Peoples Party (YPP), Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, winner due to the volatile situation at the collation centre, which was a great threat to his life.

saints2: The legal team of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has summoned an emergency meeting for Tuesday, TheCable understands.
Coming on the heels of the rejection of the presidential election result by the main opposition party, the meeting is expected to discuss the next line of action.
The notice of meeting was sent by Kabir Turaki, former minister of special duties who unsuccessfully sought the presidential ticket of the PDP for the 2019 election.
The meeting, which will hold at the Legacy House, Abuja, is expected to start at 4pm.
Turaki, a senior advocate, told invitees to “appear in person” as there will be “no representation please”.
“The legal works are about to begin,” a senior PDP official told TheCable.
The outcomes of all the previous elections, bar 2015, were challenged in court, although Olu Falae withdrew his case against President Olusegun Obasanjo in 1999 after the intervention of prominent Nigerians.
President Buhari challenged all the previous elections he lost — in 2003, 2007 and 2011.
In 2015, President Goodluck Jonathan took the unprecedented step of conceding while the final result was yet to be announced.
