50calibre: A week from today, the eyes of the world will be on the MGN Grand in Las Vegas as unarguably the most anticipated fight of this Century since Tyson V Lewis finally comes to fruition. This is set to be the richest fight in boxing history, generating a whooping $300 million but much like Tyson-Lewis, this is a long over-due fight 5/6 years in the making. So the pertinent questions here are; will it live up to its hype? And what are we to expect come May 2nd.
Both fighters are very different in style, Floyd is a defensive counter-puncher who's perfected the art of hitting without getting hit, while Pacquiao is a tenacious power puncher & more of risk taker who throws himself right into the mix. However the one thing both fighters have in common is speed.
Floyd Mayweather steps into the ring with a slight height & reach advantage as well as an unbeaten record (which may also be a burden) while Pacquiao will for once relish the underdog status, thus lifting the weight of expectations off his shoulders.
In my opinion, this fight could go either way, it's going to come down to which fighter shows up in better shape physically, psychologically and emotionally coupled with how well each fighter is able to deploy the most effective weapon in his arsenal. For Floyd, his elusiveness and for Pacquiao, his power.
Most pugilist fans like myself hope for an explosive fight ending in a knockout and it's up to Pacquiao the more sensational fighter to make that happen. If Floyd is able to stop Pacquiao from getting inside and unleashing his vicious combinations, then we are in for a boring 12 rounds of Mayweather over-cautiousness, with the scorecards deciding the winner and we all know Pacquiao will never win a decision over Mayweather in Vegas.
My heart is with Pacquiao as I always root for the underdog but my head tells me Mayweather. I'm contemplating wagering on Pacquiao but how do you wager against a man who's never lost? Which ever way it goes, only one man will make the transition from Champion to Legend.
I created this thread so that fight fans on this forum (I hope they're still here) can have their say. Lets hear your per-fight analysis and predictions, are we going to witness an upset? If you had to, on whom are you going to wager & why?
Seun & Mods please be kind enough to push this thread front page.
Adesiji77: MTN Nigeria on Monday warned that should there be attacks on its facilities, it might be forced to close shop and 99 per cent of its over 6,000 workforce in the country, who are Nigerians, would be thrown into the labour market.
It also said that calls for the boycott of its services were unjustified as such an action would affect its support chain, which could cause another 500,000 Nigerians to lose their means of livelihood.
The company stated this in Lagos some hours after two groups protested in its Abuja and Benin offices against the killing of foreigners in its home country, South Africa.
According to the Corporate Service Executive, MTN Nigeria, Mr. Wale Goodluck, there are only 12 expatriates working for the company in the country, compared to a workforce of 6,000 Nigerians.
Goodluck said, “So, if people go ahead with their threats to attack our facilities, what that means is that we may be forced to close down the business in Nigeria and about 6,000 Nigerians that make up 99 per cent of our workforce will be unemployed.
“Then, when you look at our support chain, we have about 500,000 Nigerians gainfully employed. So, boycotting our services simply means destroying so many other Nigerian businesses and making over 500,000 other Nigerians to lose their jobs.
“This business supports a lot of businesses across the length and breadth of Nigeria. Many of the businesses that are affiliated to South Africa are in the retail space, supporting the growth of Nigeria and employing so many Nigerians.”
He noted that the company had spent in excess of $15bn on capital expenditure growing the telecommunications business in Nigeria.
“We see no revenge of Xenophobia and we commend the role the Nigerian High Commissioner in South Africa has played; at least there has been no fatality on the part of any Nigerian,” Goodluck added.
Mtn those nothing but steal millions of naira from Nigerians if dey close up dey will lose dia company as well as Nigerians losing dia job so dey should shut up fools, ingrate go back to south Africa now let's see if u can dupe dem thief's
Ok, I love the way she responded without calling her names. But I want to ask a question, WHY HAVE WE BEEN FOOLED TO ACCEPT THIS ONE MAN ONE WIFE OF A THING? Show me a place in the scripture that condemns polygamy and i will show you blue grass. There are just too many ladies out there. If we say 1 man 1 wife, there will be too may single ladies out there. Ok, ask yourself 1. Women start to fade at 50, but at 50, a man can still be having children till 70 or 80 seff
2. A man can have 2 children with 2 women at the same time, but a woman cannot carry 2 pregnancies.
imoleay0: Stop taking that pastor politician serious.

CHM11: Dear OP, please leave igbos alone if you are not igbo. Let them keep marrying themselves, its better for them.
I just pity peeps who date igbos!!,..especially igbos who live or have lived in the east...how do you cope with them??
Had to live amongst some east-based igbo guys and ladies during my NYSC..... Worst experience of my life.... Its worse that when they are told they are hard to understand, they all fall back to insulting in their local dialect.. You will hear things like ewu, anuofia etc...proving my point again....

But why wont they start crying when they know the guy is taking all their wahala away. Marriage is not for a man, marriage is for women only. A man doesn't stand to gain anything from getting married. You lose your freedom, she'll nag you to hell, she will lose her pristine beauty, you spend your entire life working to make her happy-and you stand to gain nothing....You can always get sex, child(ren) or even love without getting married. Guys, dont get married

Benard94: There is this raging arguement in my area as to if one could date/marry his/her cousin. Some stood frankly against it while others saw no crack in it. Apart, what is the measure of closeness where one could restrict dating? Is cousin-dating ethical?

Krasid: CAF messed up when they omitted Enyeama from the final three.Personally, i don't think Mikel will be a good representation of Africa's Best Player.
chiefinalowo: I don't see anything wrong in it. I have seen a Bible on a Babalawo's table not in a movie but in real life. In fact, he quoted more than 4 Bible verses right there in my presence.
