Don't know how old you were then too but I started following politics right from the time of Omoboriowo which precedes Buhari's regime even as a little kid. And I make it bold to tell you Buhari and idiagbon were the best thing to happen to Nigeria that time if not for the likes of IBB and co that cut short their administration for lack of compromise and want of jagajaga system where corruption is the order of the day. The result is what you see today. Total decay of infrastructure and corruption in the bedroom of power if I may borrow OBJ's words.

If you think Buhari can re-enact the koboko and frog jump days in the 21st century and worse still a democracy, then you need to think again. That man cannot perform in a democracy. "Wind of change. Buhari may not be the ideal President. But when compared to his main rival, GEJ, who brings nothing to the table, Buhari Presidency may just be inevitable. His major promise has been to work hard to fight corruption. And that's key. Buhari does not appeal to me as someone who understands modern economic dynamics. An astute and dynamic Deputy and a vibrant cabinet may help.

Nigeria is bleeding, almost to a point of death. A period of oil boom just ended, nothing to show for it. If fighting corruption, blocking leakages and reducing rent taking is all Buhari can achieve, Nigeria will make progress.
