legendidris: I don't know when we will stop being sentimental and be realistic in our comments. We all know the problem of this country which I surely believe every individual is wishing a better Nigeria for all of us. Let's be sincere is Nigeria not among the richest country in the world? Still 75% of her citizen are suffering atleast if government can level some distance between the rich and the poor then what's N5,000 that government can't afford to 60% of its citizen in a month! Let's vote in Buhari and see the next step I believe in him And who told you Nigeria is among the richest countries in the world? Some people just believe that Nigeria's wealth is limitless. |

lookooman: Mrs Adelakun is a columnist I admire a lot for her balanced and unbiased analysis of events. She had at various times taken the Gej government to the cleaners. However I beg to disagree with her on the following points. - that the maifesto is an edited version of the 2011 manifesto,..... Was she expecting another manifesto? so that she can write in next weeks punch that Gmb is inconsistent in his manifesto. - she also said Gmb did not explain how he will tackle boko haram...... So he should start explaining military tactics he will use in flushing out the terrorist? How many times has Gej done that in his numerous speeches? besides Gmb has stated that he will involve all past military officers with a view of finding solution -on the issue of social welfare, does she even know that Gej has a bill before parliament seeking to establish a social security system? Also there are similar schemes operating like the conditional cash transfer scheme and payment of stipends to the elderly as in case of ekiti. Funding it even on the midst of crude oil price crash is very possible, use the so called security vote. - on how to raise revenue, trust me that is no problem. Remember how Igr of Apc states have been increasing, an Apc federal government will do just that and before you know it, igr will replace oil as our main source of revenue, also enforcing law is a big business in developed countries, we all know Gmb stands on lawlessness
some commentators on this topic are just blinded by sentiments and many are kids just too eager to type a comment on nairaland , see what free Mb and stealing of broadband causes The most hilarious is the guy that said Gmb plans to use his Niger delta oil money to feed the poor........... The kid should tell us which money was used to set up the Niger delta oil industry Is it not cocoa, palm oil, rubber, timber and ground nut money? besides the bulk of the oil money already stays in the Niger delta through 13% derivation, nddc, ministry of Niger delta, amnesty programme .
the change Gmb is talking about isn't just about Gej but change from impunity, change from extravagant spending, care for the less privileged everywhere in Nigeria unless you want us to believe there are poor people only in the north. Why don't you allow Buhari defend his manifesto? Ok, I forgot, he's too dumb to analyse his own manifesto, talkless of defending it. |

LRNZH: I am.sorry but the writer is shallow in his analysis.
Instead of tackling the actual points in the manifesto and providing alternatives..... he's just using bogus words to make a watery conclusion of negativity.
I'm even curious to know his background.
I have more research to do... We shall get to the bottom of this matter.
By the way, GEJ's New Year speech this morning is bereft of ideas. There was nothing on his plans (if any) for Power, Refining, Security and on tackling Corruption. That's the manifesto PDP has for 2015. Read thru the write up again my brother. The writer tackled the points made in the manifesto intelligently. If you have nothing to say, no need to comment. And how was the president's new year message meant to be his manifesto or are you just looking for what to say? |

Reasonable individuals don't make disparaging remarks on those God has naturally placed above them. I may vote for change but I will not forget that the office of the President of Nigeria and the person that occupies it deserves my full respect. Oh God of creation, help our youths the truth to know. Don't mind the ill trained and despicable kids that flood nairaland. |

The big question ;Peradventure GEJ wins, will Buhari accept defeat,or the post election violence in 2011 will be replicated
Disclaimer: there is nobody as dangerous as the desperate. Thank you sir. That's the problem we have with Buhari. The sai Buharists are already unashamedly stoking the embers of violence. All I see is a bunch of e- thugs endorsing violence desperately. By the time the violence starts, it won't matter anymmore who the winner is. We'll be so sorry counting the dead. |

[quote author=donphilopus post=29351211]I don't understand how some people reason. Someone who contested the Presidential Election 3 consecutive times suddenly has no certificate to present to INEC?! What did he present in 2003, 2007 and 2011?! I guess he contested the Elections without any Certificate! Amidst all the lies and propagandas, Buhari is still waxing stronger.
These people blasting Buhari were not even seen when it was reported that Sambo couldn't present his. Now because it's Buhari, they just wanna kill themselves. It's high time we presented to them their Certificate of Hypocrisy. Bunch of Hypocrites I don't want to call you foolish, but your post is a foolish one. Reference: God is not in the business of saving nations as per geographical entities. God doesn't 'know' Nigeria, Iraq, Mozambique, etc. He saves 'souls', people then tells them what to do to maintain gardens and warns them to prevent garbage dumps. The use of the word 'nations' as contained in the old testament oft refered to the Jews and not territorial Israel whose boundaries remain fluid to this day and whose nationals include those even seeking to destroy it.
Why will God just wake up one day and decide to save Nigeria full of all sorts of people who even slaughter his sheep and desicrate his temples. If Nigeria has enough righteous people it will slowly become a fruitful field. It has always been a game of numbers. Remember the city of Sodom. Instead of evangelism Abraham was busy tempting God with numbers. In the end God saved the righteous and destroyed the city anyway. God is not interested in your politics. People should stop dragging Him in. Don't say what you don't know. God is interested in nations as much as in individuals. |

Phargbemmy: I ask and stand to be corrected, can you point out one thing in your locality that this present PDP has done in ur area that make u give a bit of credibility to GEJ, I am putting this out to you right now, if a proper opinion polls were to be carried out(not one filled wt charrade or sentiments) you will come to the realisation that the youths that made up abt 55%of our total population earnestly ask for a change. I am not a party bigotry nor a sycophant but I am raising awareness of what youths in my locality feels.
Forget politics and religion, all we ask for is CHANGE You don't feel the pulse of Nigerian youths so don't speak for them. You want to know what GEJ has done in my locality, well get ready, my light has not blinked since tuesday, my colleagues wife got 10m from the youwin programme to expand her poultry farm, my kid brother is currently benefitting from the sure-p graduate internship scheme getting trained in computer networking and earning monthly stipends at the same time. I won't say all my needs have been met but I don't think any govt can meet all our needs. There are many other areas that this govt has improved our live. Soon we won't have any business importing rice, we are already exporting cassava. The car assembly plants are back, the agric ministry is reviving cocoa farming, we shall begin exporting cocoa again. You guys should leave the president alone. He has to finish the laudable programmes he has started. Forget this Buhari and give Nigerians a more credible option. I've read through his speeches and he actually seems to be the clueless one. |

Mr Buhari, your assesment of the poverty situation is wrong. Have you considered that people invite poverty through their actions? A young unemployed man decides to get married and starts making babies, what is he calling for? Some even earn little yet create responsibilities for themselves and what you get is poverty. Leadership in a capitalist economy can only steer macro economic factors to create employment or empower the people but cannot manage peoples' lives for them. |

It is now clearer that APC is a waste basket of the PDP, where the people who created and perpetuated the " 16 Disastrous years" are now dumped. please Nigerians what is the change in this APC?
