Uncle
I think you should have said your uncle had a domiciliary account.
That’s a dollar account and it gives them assurance that the money is readily available.
My opinion oo
Tyleet:
Visa denied this morning at Lagos embassy. Gurus please help me take a look and suggest ways to improve. I got no funding from the university so my COA was $40K.

Me: Good morning madam
VO: no answer
VO: Pass me your passport and i20
Me: I did
VO: starts typing then asks where are you going?
Me: I am going to pursue a masters degree in Animal Science at the University of Nebraska Lincoln
VO: what are you doing presently?
Me: I'm a poultry farmer
VO: So what will this degree do for you?
Me: My goal is to pursue both my masters and PhD at the same time in the same unl which I have discussed with my supervisor. After my PhD, I intend to return to Nigeria to take up a lecturing job at my alma mater. I have always been interested in teaching agriculture to students and I love to give back to my alma mater where I earned my 1st, degree. A PhD in animal science will position me as a great candidate for the job.
VO: points to i20 and asked who is paying this $40000?
Me: my uncle
VO: what does he do?
Me: he is a real estate investor, who manages my late grandfather's real estate properties in Lagos and Abeokuta. He was the one who sponsored my high school and college education and I lived with him all through my time in college.
VO: How is he going to pay?
Me: I have his bank statement with me as well as my late grandfathers will wherein he stated that proceeds from the real estate industry can be used for the educational programs of his children. At this time I wanted to pass the bank statement to her but she said no.
VO: what type of account does he have?
Me: savings
VO: Does he have a US account?
ME: NO. I will be the one to open the account when I get there and he will send the money into my account and then I will pay it to the school.
Me: Passes the financial statements to her again
VO: (She collects it and cross-check. The statement has a balance of about #30000000)
VO: Okay but I'm sorry you did not qualify at this time. You can reapply.

Twoods, Fairheart, lagosismyhome, other gurus, pls kindly contribute your thoughts

Hey
When this week is your interview?
Mine's this week too
Tessyope:
Hi, my interview is this week in Lagos.. Nice to meet you.
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by Bami26: 6:49pm On Jul 10, 2021
Please are you sure about this ?
I’m in this dilemma
I canceled my Lagos and I didn’t see any emergency request in Abuja
I have not moved forward cos I don’t know what to do.
How did you go about it ?
The dates I saw in Abuja are in November/December
sslooss:
You won't have to pay another MRV fee if you only booked one interview date so far and have not rescheduled. I was also in the same situation; I had booked emergency appointment in Lagos but received no response even after 2 weeks. I was able to switch to Abuja with the same MRV fee and still book for emergency appointment. We get two bookings with each MRV fee.
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by Bami26: 7:32pm On Jul 08, 2021
Please have you tried it and has it worked for you ?
dapsalmy:
Wait, before you pay another visa fee, complete the application first and submit, new emergency request button should appear, update here how it goes.
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by Bami26: 7:25pm On Jul 08, 2021
I want to apply for Abuja
But the nearest date is November 16th
And there’s no emergency request on my profile anymore.
dapsalmy:
Apply again first for Abuja, you should see another emergency request menu after application. You've cancelled already anyway, so apply for Abuja real quick and update your DS160
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by Bami26: 7:22pm On Jul 08, 2021

TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by Bami26: 4:56pm On Jul 02, 2021
Hi!
when did you apply for the emergency request?
Onyedika11:
Please, don't. Just request for an expedited appointment. It costs nothing. I just got a July date this morning, thanks to some kind people in this forum
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by Bami26: 7:04am On Jul 02, 2021
Omo me too oo
I’ve applied since Monday and I’ve not gotten a response yet.
Omoxrist:
Hello,
Please is there anyone here who applied for emergency date in Lagos and has gotten a response? How many days did you have to wait to get a response from them?
All the best guys.
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by Bami26: 9:46am On Jun 28, 2021
Good morning guys!
please help me asses my transcript
Thank you

VO: Good morning how are you ?

Me: I’m fine and you ?

VO: good, pass your documents

Me: passes the documents

VO: what’s your purpose of visit to the US?

Me: I am going for my masters degree in pharmaceutical sciences at Bleep. I am particularly interested in drug discovery and research.

VO: why did you choose to study in the US?

Me: the US is a land filled with great knowledge and a degree from this country will allow me impact the knowledge gained in a high position in a pharmaceutical company here in Nigeria

VO: why this school ?

Me: Bleep has an utmost state of the art facilities in their pharmacy department and this particularly drew me to the school this combined with the curriculum of the program.

VO: how many schools did you apply to?

Me: I started my application to three schools but completed only one

VO: why didn’t you complete the other applications ?

Me: I was the one paying the application fee as at then and I could only afford to pay one after the other. Since Bleep was my preferred choice when the admission came in I didn’t bother about the remaining.

VO: how did you hear about the school ?

Me: I searched online for schools offering drug discover and it was listed.

VO: Tell me about your study plan

Me: my masters degree program in pharmaceutical science runs for two years and the total required credit for graduation is 34 credits. In my first semester, I’d be taking a total of 9 credits and this includes courses on molecular biology, pharmaceutical chemistry, analytical chemistry amongst others

VO: what will this program do for you/ your career?

Me: a masters degree from the US puts me on the radar of top pharmaceutical companies. It would allow me to be licensed to work in research institutes like NIgerian institute of medical research and contribute my quota in drug discovery and research in Nigeria

VO: what are your plans after graduation ?

Me: I plan to return back to my country and start applying to companies like gsk Nigeria , Pfizer Nigeria for the role of drug discovery manager and even NIMR.

VO: did you write any tests ?

Me: yes I did. I wrote GRE and scored 298 and IELTS and scored 7.5 band

VO: who’s sponsoring you ?

Me: my father is my major sponsor and he would be paying for my expenses. My grand uncle dr. Harold Demuren sponsored me with about 10,000 dollars and he signed an affidavit of support with my school to make this amount available for me for the entire duration of my studies.

VO: I can see that you have 10,000 dollars here stated as personal funds. How did you come about that ?

Me: like I said, my father has more than enough money for my studies abroad. My grand uncle after learning about my admission decided to support me with the amount. He sent it into my account and said he would make that amount available for me for the two years of my study as a little contribution to my studies.

VO: have you been to the US?

Me: no sir

VO: do you have any family/ friends in the US?

Me: no sir

VO: where would you be residing in the US?

Me: I already contacted the office of residential life in the university and inquired about accommodation. I’d be staying on campus for the first year of my studies. I would pay for the accommodation on arrival and that is because I want to see the apartment I’d be staying before paying.

VO: what do you do currently ?

Me: I work as a medical sales representative/ regulatory officer for a pharmaceutical firm in Lagos.

VO: do you plan to return back to your county?

Me: of course! My family and friends are all here in Nigeria. And I also want to contribute to help build my country’s health sector so I am definitely coming to Nigeria to impact what I’d learn in the US

Hey Ara2004, I applied to University of Toronto for their masters program but I have not gotten a response yet.
When did you apply and when did get a feed back from them
Congratulations on your admission

Ara2004:
Hello House. I was just notified that my application for Ph.D at the University of Toronto was accepted for fall 2021. They selected two international students and i was fortunate to be one. Its a fully funded Ph.D with teaching assistantship position. I await my acceptance letter. However, i have some concerns please. 1. I heard paper application for study permit is not active now, that i can only apply online. how true is this? 2. With a fully funded Ph.D, i think i should be exempted from submitting any bank statement for proof of funds?. Lastly, the police clearance certificate how can i please apply for this ? Thanks.

Good morning house.
I am a new member of this beautiful family and I need some answers about a few things.
I applied to the university of Toronto and Ottawa for my course and I want to find out if anyone has an idea about the wait time before a decision is made on my application.
I hope it ends in praises for all of us.
