kevwe_flex:

Greetings!
A DV lottery winner will become an LPR (Lawful Permanent Resident) after successful interview not just because one is selected. If permanent residence is granted, the winner (and his/her family, if applicable) receives an immigrant visa in their passport(s) that has to be "activated" within six months of issuance at any port of entry to the United States. The new immigrant receives a stamp on the visa as proof of lawful admittance to the United States, and the individual is now authorized to live and work permanently in the United States. Finally, the actual "green card" typically arrives by mail within a few months.
Any person not a citizen of the United States who is residing the in the U.S. under legally recognized and lawfully recorded permanent residence as an immigrant. Also known as "Permanent Resident Alien," "Resident Alien Permit Holder," and "Green Card Holder." source
A lawful permanent resident can apply for United States citizenship, or naturalization, after five years of residency. This period is shortened to three years if married to a U.S. citizen. Lawful Permanent Residents may submit their applications for naturalization as early as 90 days before meeting the residency requirement. Citizens are entitled to more rights (and obligations) than permanent residents (who are still classified as aliens in this respect). Lawful Permanent Residents generally do not have the right to vote, the right to be elected in federal and state elections, the ability to bring family members to the United States (permanent residents are allowed to sponsor certain family members,[10] but this is often not practical due to long approval delays),[11][12] or eligibility for federal government jobs. Male permanent residents between the ages of 18 and 25 are subject to registering in the Selective Service System. Permanent residents who reside in the United States must pay taxes on their worldwide income, like U.S. citizens. Shalom
Pls kevwe_flex ; can u pls help me explain more about the statement on when someone recieves and immigrant visa in their passports dat has to be activated within 6months of issuance at any POE.What I really want u to clarify is that actiivation within 6months...!
And secondly, during the Interview, are we submitting the E-passports too at the embassy or just at the of entry.?

If the problem persist by tomorrow, I guess you can assume that its site's error, then rush to Lagos on Friday or Monday for collection.
Taking Jollywin's case as an example: He did his interview a day before yours and he has collected, so it could be their site's error
so sorry for the stress and I hope it helps?

According to the information below, yes, your son needs to pay USCIS fee.
Do you pay $330 visa fee for him pls?

Foreign nationals who seek permanent residence in the United States and receive an immigrant visa from the Department of State need to pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee online before departing for the United States.

How to Pay the Fee

You must pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee online using USCIS ELIS. You may pay for yourself and for any family members who will live with you in the United States. Attorneys, accredited representatives, and employers are not authorized to create a USCIS ELIS account on your behalf to pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee. Only you, as the immigrant, may open a USCIS ELIS account and pay the required fee in order to obtain your Permanent Resident Card (Green Card).

You will need to complete the electronic payment request and provide:

Your Alien number (A-Number) and your Department of State (DOS) Case ID number.
If you pay for your family members, you must have their A-Numbers, DOS Case ID numbers and correct biographic information.
You also will need to provide a valid credit or debit card or, if you choose to have money taken directly from your bank account, a checking account number and the routing number for your U.S. bank.

Zillionnaire: thank God folks,i arrived des moines Iowa on wednesday the 6th of november 2013.I flew with emirates and it was a wonderful journey, the plane was so beautiful and massive.we stopped at dubai for a few minutes and trust me,dubai is breath taking. It was so beautiful that I knew that we are really cheating ourselves in Naija.we proceeded to new york and the journey was so long but we arrived there eventually and OMG new york is the place to be.I was done with immigrations in less than 5 minutes cos when i got there they saw on my form that i was an artist and they started taunting me to sing or go back to Nigeria and when i sang they gave me a standing ovation and stamped my visa immediately, they did not even check all the fish and shrimps i declared.please dont forget to fill the form they give you on the airplane cos thats what they asked for first. Its what you are bringing into the country they require on the form.Anyways I arrived new york and when I was done wit immigrations I went to look for my connecting flight from Ny to Iowa, what i saw was breath taking,They had an automated train system that picks you to your terminal without a driver.I flew through charlot and the airport was so lovely too.well I finally arived here and please any body that tells you america is not fine, slap the person cos the place is perfect.I wish you all the best in this pursuit

Thanks!
Background: I did my interview outside Naija
I didn't have police report for the country I currently reside in because they won't issue it until the embassy requests for it. And the embassy will not request for it unless I attend the interview. So I knew my interview will not be conclusive the first time.
Interview:
CO: how are you?
Me: I am fine, thank you and you?
CO: I'm good
CO: how many times did you play the lottery before you finally won
Me: about 3 times
CO: great! Congrats
Me: thanks
CO: is this your only marriage?
ME: yes
CO: do you have any child(ren) outside this marriage?
Me:no
CO: can I see your transcript
Me: I don't have it here
CO: will you be able to get it?
Me: yes
CO: you are quite experienced, will you be to get letter from your current and previous employers stating your position, salary, and duration of work?
Me: I can get from my current employer but not from my previous employers
CO: do you have your bank statement? I would like to know if you have some savings
Me: I don't have it here
CO: what will you do when you get to US
Me: I may get transferred there by my current employer
CO: not impossible
Me: yes
CO: returns my passports and gave me document stating documents to be submitted and where to submit.
List of documents to be submitted:
Police report
Academic transcript
Bank statement
Letter from employer

The police report took three weeks to be finalized ( that's the process in this country). Submitted all the documents got email from the embassy after three days to submit passports. Then another 3 days to receive the passports (of course with the visa).

All praise is due to Him. The almighty Allah who made this possible.
Congrats to u.. The lord shall perfect ours IJN...
Pls can u shed more light on the BANK STATEMENT... I thought they don't request for bank statements.... Why were u asked to? PLS can u honestly Clarify.... Thnks
