An information pls, if u are to take yellow fever vaccine (yellow card) @ d airport, do that before ten days of ur departure if u wd not want to be charged extra #500 with backdating as I experienced dat today. Greetings to u all pls.
hmmmmm...Well bro, it all depends on whom you met.. when I took mine, I asked the nurse to back date it for me and she never requested for 1 kobo...Even though when they come out for their announcements, they tend to sound mean.. I simply told the nurse my flight was in 4 days and they never Objected...

Yellow fever card is Not requested at the Airport Nor P.O.E... In my own case, few days to my jetting out I had to go to MMA to get it done cause of conflicting stories about it.. The Nurse at the clinic in MMA adviced me to do it even though it was not required but just for my health benefit..I think the immunity last for 10yrs or so.. It's just 1k..

AdenijiPupa: am trying to pay my USCIS fee, but is asking for ROUTINE Number, How do i get that pls?
are u paying from the STATES.....
Your bank routing number is a nine-digit code that’s based on the U.S. Bank location where your account was opened. It’s the first set of numbers printed on the bottom of your checks, on the left side. Often when you’re making a payment by phone or online, you will be asked for your checking account routing number. It’s also referred to as an RTN, a routing transit number, an ABA or a banking routing number.

rcha: How and where and when and how much do I have to pay for USCIS fees? And why do we have to pay?
The USCIS FEE IS 330 dollars....

Foreign nationals who seek permanent residence in the United States and receive an immigrant visa from the Department of State need to pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee online before departing for the United States.

How to Pay the Fee

You must pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee online using USCIS ELIS. You may pay for yourself and for any family members who will live with you in the United States. Attorneys, accredited representatives, and employers are not authorized to create a USCIS ELIS account on your behalf to pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee. Only you, as the immigrant, may open a USCIS ELIS account and pay the required fee in order to obtain your Permanent Resident Card (Green Card).

You will need to complete the electronic payment request and provide:

Your Alien number (A-Number) and your Department of State (DOS) Case ID number.
If you pay for your family members, you must have their A-Numbers, DOS Case ID numbers and correct biographic information.
You also will need to provide a valid credit or debit card or, if you choose to have money taken directly from your bank account, a checking account number and the routing number for your U.S. bank.

@bamideleniayo: when you get to oshodi....take a bus or a cab going to Obalende....pick a keke to take you to CHILDRENS PRACTICE Hospital, Raymon Njoku in Ikoyi. as per your second question...it's always better to go for your medicals like a week or 2 before the interview considering the closeness of the expiry of the medical report with that of the visa. i hope this helps?
Thanks Much

Leripa:

You guys have to be there very early, say 7:00 am. As soon as te hospital is opened, the staff working there will take charge of the process by first directing you to a nearby bank to make some deposits. And yes, you are paying all the fee at once.
You'll see a doctor that'll ask about your medical history as your medical history determines what you pay too. Then you'll go for your vaccination and x-ray too. Not too much activities to worry about anyway.
Note: the order at which you're attended to may vary from what I explained here but will encompass the whole aspect. May God see you through.
pls can u explain more on the medical history u said will be asked; I thought medical history is asked from parents with children to reduce the cost of Vaccination.!

Greetings.
You are welcome bamideleniayo.. I think with an illustration, it would make sense. For example, your interview would be January 2014, meaning your visa would be issued that same month, your e-passport should be valid for at least 6 months beyond when you want to travel. If your e-passport is going to expire say May 2014, it's invalid, I think June by my understanding also is invalid. For your case where you have yours to expire 2018, meaning you have ample life on it. I think by the time it's expiring you may not need to renew it, but rather apply for the blue American passport God willing grin grin grin smiley wink.
So trouble not your mind. Rest and enjoy your Christmas cool

Peace
. Thank u so much Kevwe_flex for the Explanation,u've been very very helpful;I really do appreciate...!

Hi Bamideleniayo. Remember it is required that after the issuance of your visa, you have 6 months "grace" to stay before jetting out. Actually the visa has one year validity, but it must be activated within 6 months of issuance. Meaning once you enter the States, it would be activated i.e. stamped.
Secondly, during the interview, you need to submit your e-passports that must be valid at least six (6) months beyond the dates of your trip. Some airlines will not allow you to board if this requirement is not met. Hope this helps?
Thanks so much Kevwe_flex..
Pls can explain little bit more on the 2nd answer where u said I need to submit my e-passports that must be valid at least six (6) months beyond the dates of the trip and that Some airlines will not allow you to board if this requirement is not met. I just a little clarification on that Cause on my e-passport the expiry date is 2018...! Thanks so much

gokman4u: starting with ur 1st question,
If you are successful at the interview as an immigrant visa applicant,
Your passport will be retaining by the CO at the embassy and later sent to the document collection centre where your visa will be printed & you pick it after 5 working days.
Your Qustion 2:
Your immigrant visa has a period of 6month validity and you are expected to travel to the United states before your visa expires.
Upon your arrival at any US POE(point of entry),you are expected to submit your international passport with the immigrant visa on it & your brown sealed envelope.
At the POE,your immigrant visa will be stamped(activation) by US immigration officer.
Upon stamping, the visa with the stamp on it serves as I-550 and can function as permanent residence for 1yr within the shore of the US
Hope this is helpful.
Thanks boss... Really appreciate.
