The draw, which felt like a win made us happy because we snatched it from Manu's jaws. It was like taking candy from a baby, and SAF was bawling about it.

I-man, remember that ManU only scored 1 goal, the first was an own goal. We scored two. TWO. Against the "best defence in the premiership".
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 12:06pm On Nov 06, 2007
HNIC, changed. Now remove it from your "quote" before some MANC comes and sees it. Thanks.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 11:17am On Nov 06, 2007
The Mancs are asking why we're so happy we scraped a draw at home. Simple: ManU is the current in-form team in the premiership, yet in this game they couldn't score more than one goal (needed the bonus of an own goal), and conceeded two. This win draw to me feels better than Van Nistelrooy missing a penalty at the last minute!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 10:46am On Nov 06, 2007
Chuck, I totally agree. I also feel that Eboue is beginning to show how important he really is to the team.

Clichy marked Ronaldo out. Ronaldo (for a large part) cancelled Clichy out. If RVP had played, we would have won. If Scholes had played instead of Anderson, we would have won.

quality!

I think if we have Anelka, we'll win the premiership. He's a striker I rate very highly, plus he's got pace and power comparable to Ade, PLUS he's a TOP CLASS striker.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 12:57pm On Nov 04, 2007
Chuck, that's what ManU has been doing to Arsenal over the years. The subtle elbow. Tread on his foot. kick his backside when the ref's not looking. The arsenal player then retaliates, and BAM! red card.

Viera, Fergie complained that he received a lot of abuse from the Arsenal fans. What did he expect? Seriously now.

I still don't like Rooney, but I now respect him a lot as a footballer. When Evra was rolling around in the box, forming injury, Rooney walked up to him, picked him up and shouted at him. Proper sportsmanship!

Hang on a minute: Why are people saying we scraped a draw? The actuality of it is that ManU only scored one goal. We scored 2, we didn't need a lucky deflection
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 6:14pm On Nov 03, 2007
Where were wazza, Gaza, Razza and Loser? Debo, did you notice that for long periods, the so called "most attacking team" in the premiership were pinned in their own half? Ronaldo, footballer of last season, POCKETED by Clichy like I predicted. Evra? Pocketed by Eboue for large periods. If Hleb didn't go off, I do believe we'd have taken all three points. If Eboue didn't go off, Evra would NEVER had made that run.

But Debo, imagine the sheer determination that Gallas showed by going forward. What the hell was a right-back doing there during open play? As from today, Gallas is totally my captain!

We will keep fighting even if we all die together! Sheer class!

Who's on top of the tables by the way?

Manchester United mathematics claim that Africans always lie. Racist ManU fans, always cheating.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 5:24pm On Nov 03, 2007
Debo - they didn't lose the plot, they had a great game. But we matched them. And we didn't even have a proper striker.

Where were Apache and Wazza? They couldn't even see the net. We broke their 4 goal scoring streak men!
SportsRe: Gunners 4 Life: Man U Held Up To 2-2 On Emirates: by Banderas(m): 5:21pm On Nov 03, 2007
Ryan Giggs 33
Van de sar 37
Ferdinand 28
Scholes 32
Neville 32
Brown 28
Silvestre 30
Saha 29

Now this is such a young side. Typical Manure intelligence

C'mon yee gunners!!!

Kunmi, without disrespecting Manu, this is actually one match I am looking forward to. For the first time in about 3 seasons, I actually believe that we are currently a match for your guys. I think we'll do the double on you lot again this season, but whatever happens, it WILL be entertainment at it's best.

I have already bought a carton of beer.

Does anyone else feel that if it was Eddie who had that one-on-one with Pepe Reina last sunday he would have scored it?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 9:58am On Nov 01, 2007
Debo, realistically, who was the captain of that team? It was definitely Gil. Arsene did say afterwards that he had discussed with Gil, and they both agreed to "assist" with the youngsters. I also get the feeling that he was given a runout in preparation for the saturday game.

A40 - it can't feel too nice, especially since he's also getting benched.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 3:46pm On Oct 31, 2007
HNIC, that is indeed quite controversial. I have never seen Song lose a 1-1 battle. I have never seen Song get a red card, and I have never seen Song totally fluff a clearance.

Despite all this, I actually share your opinion.

T-boy, I thought Song was loaned out last season, and had a wonderful season with Charlton?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 12:37pm On Oct 31, 2007
T-boy, you have to admit that Song had a superb game against Newcastle during the last carling cup match, he marked Obafemi out with pace and some skill.

Your loss will give you a reality check as well. Can we beat the Arsenal? Will we ever be able to beat the Arsenal again? Is Ferdinand a good defender? Does Vidic have pace? Can Owen really handle premiership football? Will Fergie stop crying before we get back to Manchester?

The thorough thrashing will teach you some much needed respect.

Out of curiousity Wormedup, can you not see the link between the new stadium and increased financial resources?

And yeah, he actually specifically mentioned being hampered by the lack of financial resources available to him.
