Actually yes, several times in the past, Wenger has "indicated" (being a quality professional, Wenger is extremely unlikely to come out and actually say such a thing in public) his displeasure about several things at Arsenal - the size of the stadium, the size of the coffers, and the effectiveness of the youth team.

And also, sometimes you come across as totally objective, sometimes it's a bit less so.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 6:09pm On Oct 29, 2007
I-man, amazing you should have this view, even the most hardened Liverpool fans don't. As I said earlier, when Arsenal matters are concerned, I no longer believe you're a neutral objective person, maybe in other matters.

I agree that Wenger will probably "try" to resign if roman bought the Arse. I disagree that Benitez is a better coach than Wenger is.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 6:03pm On Oct 29, 2007
Of course they aren't irrelevant. He didn't have the resources Liverpool had, yet for the better part of a decade he out-performed them in the premiership. Of course it's relevant. And the price of the player is one thing, his salary is also important. If Arsene had Roman as his chairman, we both know that ManU won't have won the premiership last season. At least SAF and Wenger both know that.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 5:46pm On Oct 29, 2007
I agree with you I-man, but what does that have to do with anything? Manu as well turned down the opportunity to sign Henry. The difference is that SAF could possibly afford to make 5 mistakes a season while Arsenal with a much shallower pocket could only afford 1 or 2. There have been quite a number of successful players that Wenger has wanted to buy and has been unable to.

And you can't belittle financial resources, you simply can't. ManU once bid for Ronaldinho, then decided otherwise. If they had bought him, Arsenal wasn't even in the position to make that bid. And Chelsea makes a big mockery of anyone who says the resources to buy players doesn't count.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 5:26pm On Oct 29, 2007
TKB, You're spot on!

I-man, thanks for this analysis of Wenger, you're probably right, but I'm afraid I didn't quite get the point you were making there. Every coach makes mistakes, and there are players who don't live up to their expectations.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 5:06pm On Oct 29, 2007
I-man, October is pretty far into the season. I still don't think Rafa is a great PREMIERSHIP coach, winning ahead of Wenger for the last two seasons hardly qualifies him as such.

And you're just anti-wenger. We can quote statistics from now to whenever, the fact is that until the last 3-4 years, Arsenal hasn't had the resources newcastle had, talk less of Liverpool and United. With the resources he has had, Wenger has done a great job.

And remember you're the one who was speaking about form earlier on, one could turn your argument against you and say that in the last few years, Liverpool has only finished above Arsenal when Arsenal's form wasn't good.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 4:16pm On Oct 29, 2007
Yep, draws. No losses.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 3:56pm On Oct 29, 2007
I-man, according to your theory then, he's also better than SAF.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 1:27pm On Oct 29, 2007
Ah. Na wah. Okay I-man you're right. Liverpool is going to win the premiership, and Arsenal will be relegated.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 1:06pm On Oct 29, 2007
I-man, you're right about the points. But do you honestly see liverpool scoring 6 goals against Citeh? I think ManU can do it on a good day. Naturally I believe Arsenal can do so as well. Liverpool can't. I think liverpool has a good squad (I'll stop short of calling their squad great), but I think their coach is not technically in the same class as SAF and Wenger.

So we have this sort of scenario:
Chelsea: Good coach, Good team
ManU: Excellent Coach, great team
Arsenal: Excellent coach, great team
Liverpool: Good coach, very good team

Chelsea also has the advantage of having the best individuals, when considered player by player

Each of these qualities can be balanced or cancelled out by little things like injury and form. I think Liverpool can win the premiership if the other three teams lost 3 or 4 influential players, and had extreme malaria fever every matchday from now on.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 12:53pm On Oct 29, 2007
Touche my brother. I personally believe that if we had scored first, we would have won the game, but as you say, hypothesis leads nowhere.

I disagree with that 3rd place though, unless of course we lose our form. One thing's for sure (IMO), we're finishing above liverpool this season. Even if we lose to Chelsea and United home and away, we'll still finish above chelsea in my opinion. And we know that's not going to happen.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 12:33pm On Oct 29, 2007
I-man, can I ask you a purely hypothetical question? If Arsenal had scored each of our 4 shots on goal, yet played in the same manner, would you have felt we could win the premiership?

I agree though, it's all about winning. You guys had a period when Rooney was out and you were finding it hard to score. Now we are finding it hard to score as well (I'll tell you what - We need to get a proper striker in my opinion), but fortunately our midfield keeps bailing us out.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 12:19pm On Oct 29, 2007
I-man, I begin to see your point now. And I agree with you, as per Chelsea thrashing either ManU or Arse at the bridge with their current form.

The fact is this - Arsenal were playing away against a liverpool team which in my opinion is the BEST/strongest team Arsenal have played against this season. This same team, in my opinion, beat Chelsea at Anfield. There are different ways of equating a game, and as you said, efforts on goal is one of them. However, if we scored all our efforts on goal, would people still complain that we only had 4 attempts on goal?

My problem with using efforts on goal as a measure of football/ gameplay is that it doesn't always tell the whole story.

@Wormedup - I'll say liverpool were superb. They ran themselves ragged over the pitch. They made amazing tackles, otherwise believe it or not, we would have beaten them properly.

One more thing: Last season, liverpool with the way they played yesterday would DEFINITELY have won that fixture.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 11:32am On Oct 29, 2007
I-man, I'm disappointed in you. And for a while I was beginning to think that you were actually quite honest and sincere when you watch football. Analysts in the UK called that match "The best so far this season", but the great I-man calls it "least impressive". It's all good.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 10:16am On Oct 29, 2007
HNIC, very true, how on earth did Mascherano not get sent off?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 10:01am On Oct 29, 2007
I give ManU a lot of props. But the thing is that Manchester United doesn't play a closed game (Liverpoool had 10 men behind the ball for large parts of the second half). As a result, while they may open us up sometimes (not as easy as they opened up Boro), we will definitely open them up as well. Their lack of pace in the centre of defence will tell.

I-man, I agree, goals do come from attempts at goal. But I remember two or three seasons ago when Bolton played ManU, game ended 2-0 (man u won), Manu had about 6 attempts on goal, bolton had about 12. I say again, counting attepts is a poor way of measuring how the game went.

Gooners, I sincerely think we have to let Adebayor chill for a while. He simply isn't a complete finisher. With Anelka, we would have won that game. I'm also quite favourably disposed to that Kenwyn Jones Fella at Sunderland, who is as fast (or faster) than Adebayor, as strong, and seems to posses more skill.

Wormed: That was a superb liverpool performance, superb. And this liverpool that you're calling crap has finished top 4 in the premiership for the last 2 or 3 seasons. They also at times had 10 players behind the ball. And they also had the judoka: Carragher.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 7:57pm On Oct 28, 2007
I-man. Come now, there's a difference between me winding up a certain person (who unfortunately also happens to be a Man U fan), and speaking sincerely. There's nobody who knows anything about the premiership that will ever really expect Man U to finish below the top 4.

That said, attempts don't make a game. When ManU plays liverpool, then we can have this conversation again. This same liverpool beat Chelsea at Anfield if not for dodgy refereeing. And don't compare Arsenal with tottenham - Tottenham is 17 places behind us.

We played an excellent game. We were severely fouled and intimidated. We could, should have scored more. And our team was bought for less than the price of two Rooneys. How can I not be elated?

If you judge it with a correct football mind, you KNOW that we had an EXCELLENT game.

Toshman: You guys are bottom of your UCL group. Make sure you enjoy the UEFA cup this season.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 7:29pm On Oct 28, 2007
Manscum: No free kick taker. No pace (Toure and Gallas will mall them). And more importantly, no midfield presence (Ander-who? Anderson vs Gattu-Flam?). Oh, and no home support.

I've got my ticket already. It's gonna be a pleasure show.

We will MURDER them at the emirates!

Next game - we restore our lead against the scum!

@Tosh - We outplayed you for 90 minutes. Carragher should have gotten a red (just like last week, his Judo throws are now known). Same as Mascherano - two footed lunge.

And we were unlucky.

Hleb for me was (again) the man of the match.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by Banderas(m): 10:43am On Oct 26, 2007
I placed a bet for Jose to get fired. £20 got me £75. I would have made £650 if I had specified "get fired first".

I'm not that upset he got fired, though I must say I blame the board for unsettling him and causing his bad form. They spent £40 million on mediocre players, that's what happened. Also, I suggest his coaching style wasn't the best - his team always gets tired by the second half. The board also kept meddling in the way the team was managed, I believe they were the ones who made him sell Carrick, claiming that Zokora was a better player (total crap).
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Banderas(m): 3:58pm On Oct 25, 2007
No, no, no. This is pathetic.

The kind of people that surrounds.
According to jackal, this means that you're surrounded with "kind", and not with people.

Oga, you're amazing.

And a new one from Jackal:
"One of the history u will tell your kid is"

Need I say more?

Okay, Loyika, Debo, TKB and Somze, I'll give them a break.

Banderas rests. Until further provoked.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Banderas(m): 3:39pm On Oct 25, 2007
Heh heh. Oga still insists on showing his ignorance.
1: people that surrounds. He surrounds. She surrounds. They surround. Does this make any sense? No? Okay, I'll try and bring it down to your level (Almost impossible). People should surround, not surrounds.

Oga, you're a bushman (The word spastic comes again to mind).

Here's the thing bros. You don't speak proper english. You have no manners. Youhave no class. You can't hold a decent conversation with a proper englishman. Your posts are packed FULL of mistakes. And did you just accuse me of not knowing uk slang? Slang? Slang? Is that what came out in your GCE (or GCSE), slang?

"Talking about college degree" is also wrong. You can talk about A college degree. You can also talk about college degrees.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Banderas(m): 3:15pm On Oct 25, 2007
Oga, you refuse to take instruction? Your ignorance is wonderful

A peeve is a minor irritation. A pet peeve is the ONE you like/hate the most. Tell me now, if you only have one dog, can you have a biggest dog?

It's so simple yet it evades you. You can't grasp the basics of the english language, no wonder you resort to all this classless insults.

What is a typo? A typo is a typographical error. What is a typo error? A typographical error error?

Ooops, you did it again, you revealed your great knowledge of the english language. Oh wait a minute, that wasn't really a structural error, it was a typo (Or as you say, it was a typo error)

Oga, by the way, what is a nonce? Where did you get that one from again o? The nonce I know (which again is really ancient english) refers to a period of time. Did you just call Somze a period of time?

Why can't jackal speak english?

A-40, remember the word "screbeje" (sp)?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Banderas(m): 2:35pm On Oct 25, 2007
Oga, I accept your correction about Benitez and 2006. And I explained my mistake. I assume you know what a Peeve is. A pet peeve then would be your worst peeve/ most severe peeve. Explain how you can have a biggest pet peeve. Peeve is not cyber english oga, it is normal english, which you obviously are no good at. No wonder you try and cover up your lack by using words like "asstard".

By the way, I never said pillock doesn't exist, what I said was pillock was an obsolete word, and only you and Nigerian journalists would use such a word.

Biggest pet peeve. hahahhahahaah Jackal wan kill me oooo!!!

How about "Designer gears", was that correct? Is that how you plan to "beat me hands down" in class?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Banderas(m): 2:21pm On Oct 25, 2007
TKB, NO! I kept it footie for ages, and all I've gotten in return are insults. TKB, you always do this because the focus is never on you. You see people getting insulted and you keep quiet. The moment people give back, you start calling for peace. Here's the thing: It takes two parties to make peace. I'm tired of this watery poo these people keep spewing at me. I've had enough.

@Somze: did you notice the lapses in grammar? "you would have to". Would is past tense. Have to is future tense. Total murder of the english tongue.

Let's examine the latest post:
1: This is manu thread? There's a "the" missing in that sentence mate
2: My biggest pet peeve? You can have a biggest peeve. You can also have a pet peeve. A "biggest pet peeve" is a tautology, a needless repetition.
3: a 2 weeks old ewe? It should be "a 2 week old ewe"
4: Designer gears: Gear is not singular, so it can't have a plural. Try designer gear
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Banderas(m): 2:03pm On Oct 25, 2007
MC Omo, I agree with you 100%.

And here's the thing - I responded to him in the same way he referred to me. NOBODY has complained about what he said, yet everyone seems to be surprised that I did that? The fact is that there's no monopoly of bad behaviour. Some people play like bolton and blackburn, and keep things just below the accepted legal limit. Fair game. I have decided to match them in their game.

Seriously MC, I'm not even upset anymore. I have simply decided to stop treating them with the respect I give to everyone else, and start giving them the wind up as well. No, I'm not going to spit, I consider spitting quite rude, mannerless and uncouth. but there are other ways to play the game.

And did you realise chelsea won all their home games last season? And this was spoken by a chelsea fan!!!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Banderas(m): 1:41pm On Oct 25, 2007
On second thoughts, why should I leave the forum for you? You want to play the wind up game? I'll play with you. You think you can curse and abuse people? Well, that sort of thing is simply a measure of your upbringing, or in some cases, the lack thereof, you take your pic.

Actually, I agree that I goofed when I said that Benitez came to liverpool in 2006 - He actually renewed his contract in 2006. On that note, you're quite right, I was mistaken. Whether that gives you a right to call me names is to be seen. There are a lot more games this season.

Eric Cantona - He was a striker who played a similar role to Dennis Bergkamp especially towards the end of his career at Old Trafford (i.e creating more passes than goals). It's a technicality for sure, but that's okay, now you have two reasons to "try" to call me names.

I haven't kept a litany of your maaaaaaany goofs on this site, you're the master of them, but from now on I will.

You think you're the dog's bollocks? Well, I think you're a peice of donkey poo, and I will prove it.

And Razorr,

RAZORRR IS A PLOOONCKER BY HER OWN DEFINITION.
just look at Chelsea last season, we won all our home fixtures and still didn't win the league.
Oh by the way, you can't speak/type good english either.

MC, look at it my way, you and I have had disagreements on the forum. Have I called you names? Have I used abusive language? No. Inspite of our differences, we have kept things decent, mature and reasonable. Jibe? I can handle my jibes. It's the insults that piss me off.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Banderas(m): 1:20pm On Oct 25, 2007
Last season, Chelsea drew at home with:
1 Aston Villa
2 Arsenal
3 Reading
4 Fulham
5 Bolton
6 Everton

How come Razorr claims they won all their games at home?

Jackal:
You are a drooling, spastic fool. Rude, uncouth, and uncultured. And you still can't speak simple english - your posts are full of spelling mistakes. Did you go to school at all?

I refuse to have anything to do with a dimwit like you henceforth. Learn how to type, how to argue, and how to relate to normal people and I may reconsider

@Somze:
I see now what you mean, there are some people on this site not worth having conversation with. A total lack of manners, and a complete absence of the least bit of basic home training makes Jack a dull and ignorant turd.

@razor: I'll give you the benefit of doubt this one more time.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Chelsea Fans: Identify Yourselves Here (Old) by Banderas(m): 1:01pm On Oct 25, 2007
Even if it's just one time more, we're still more at home there than you are. You're the ones who're the pretenders to the premiership crown.

Men Somze that you're guy is a total loser. I can't argue on his level, it would make me like a person barking at a dog - I refuse to do that. The guy has pissed me off big time right now.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Banderas(m): 12:56pm On Oct 25, 2007
Jackal, you're a total comedian do you realise that?

Jackal said: First all, Benitez has won all the league games against Arsenal at ANFIELD since he arrived in England.

Benitez arrived in England in june 2006

Since then Liverpool has played 1 home game against Arsenal in the league.

In other words, when Jackal sayd "all the league games", he means the ONLY league game. But trust Jackal to make drama out of every situation, such a drama qu, n
